[1]Filii autem Israël secundum numerum suum, principes familiarum, tribuni, et centuriones, et præfecti, qui ministrabant regi juxta turmas suas, ingredientes et egredientes per singulos menses in anno, viginti quatuor millibus singuli præerant. [1]The children of Israel, after the number of them, ye auncient heads and captaynes of thousandes and hundredes, and their officers that serued the king by dyuers courses, which came in and went out moneth by moneth, throughout all the monethes of the yere: And in euery course were twentie and foure thouthousand
[2]Primæ turmæ in primo mense Jesboam præerat filius Zabdiel, et sub eo viginti quatuor millia; [2]Ouer the first course for the first moneth, was Iasoboam the sonne of Zabdiel, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[3]de filiis Phares, princeps cunctorum principum in exercitu mense primo. [3]And the chiefest of all the captaynes of the hoast for the first moneth, was of the children of Pharez
[4]Secundi mensis habebat turmam Dudia Ahohites, et post se alter nomine Macelloth, qui regebat partem exercitus viginti quatuor millium. [4]Ouer the course of the second moneth, was Dodai an Ahohite, & in his course was Mikloth a ruler, [his helper:] and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[5]Dux quoque turmæ tertiæ in mense tertio, erat Banaias filius Jojadæ sacerdos: et in divisione sua viginti quatuor millia. [5]The chiefe captayne of the third hoast for the third moneth, was Banaiahu the sonne of Iehoiada the hie priest, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[6]Ipse est Banaias fortissimus inter triginta, et super triginta: præerat autem turmæ ipsius Amizabad filius ejus. [6]This is that Banaiahu which was most mightie among thirtie, and aboue thirtie: And in his part was Amizabad his sonne
[7]Quartus, mense quarto, Asahel frater Joab, et Zabadias filius ejus post eum: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [7]The fourth captayne for the fourth moneth, was Asael the brother of Ioab, and Zabadaia his sonne after him, and in his course were twentie & foure thousand
[8]Quintus, mense quinto, princeps Samaoth Jezerites: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [8]The fifth captayne for the fifth moneth, was Samhut the Iezrahite, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[9]Sextus, mense sexto, Hira filius Acces Thecuites: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [9]The sixt captayne for the sixt moneth, was Ira the sonne of Ickes a Therkuite, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[10]Septimus, mense septimo, Helles Phallonites de filiis Ephraim: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [10]The seuenth captayne for the seuenth moneth, was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[11]Octavus, mense octavo, Sobochai Husathites de stirpe Zarahi: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [11]The eyght captayne for the eyght moneth, was Sibbechai an Husathite of ye kynrede of Zarhi, & in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[12]Nonus, mense nono, Abiezer Anathothites de filiis Jemini: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [12]The ninth captayne for the ninth moneth, was Abiezer an Anathothite of the sonnes of Iemini, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[13]Decimus, mense decimo, Marai, et ipse Netophathites de stirpe Zarai: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [13]The tenth captayne for the tenth moneth, was Maharai the Netophatite of the Zarahites, & in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[14]Undecimus, mense undecimo, Banaias Pharathonites de filiis Ephraim: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [14]The eleuenth captayne for the eleuenth moneth, was Banaia the Pirathonite of the children of Ephraim, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[15]Duodecimus, mense duodecimo, Holdai Netophathites, de stirpe Gothoniel: et in turma ejus viginti quatuor millia. [15]The twelfth captayne for the twelfth moneth, was Heldai the Netophatite of Othoniel, and in his course were twentie and foure thousand
[16]Porro tribubus præerant Israël, Rubenitis, dux Eliezer filius Zechri: Simeonitis, dux Saphatias filius Maacha: [16]And the rulers ouer the tribes of Israel were these: Among the Rubenites, was Eliezer the sonne of Zichri: Among the Simeonites also, was Saphathiahu the sonne of Maacha
[17]Levitis, Hasabias filius Camuel: Aaronitis, Sadoc: [17]Among the Leuites, Hasabia the sonne of Kemuel: Among the Aaronites, Zadok
[18]Juda, Eliu, frater David: Issachar, Amri filius Michaël. [18]Among them of Iuda, Elihu of the brethren of Dauid: Among them of Issachar, Omri the sonne of Michael

[20]filiis Ephraim, Osee filius Ozaziu: dimidiæ tribui Manasse, Joël filius Phadaiæ: [20]Among the children of Ephraim, Hosea the sonne of Azariahu: In the halfe tribe also of Manasse, Ioel the sonne of Pedaiahu
[21]et dimidiæ tribui Manasse in Galaad, Jaddo filius Zachariæ: Benjamin autem, Jasiel filius Abner. [21]Of the halfe tribe of Manasse in Gilead, Iiddo the sonne of Zachariahu: Among them of Beniamin, Iaasiel the sonne of Abner
[22]Dan vero, Ezrihel filius Jeroham: hi principes filiorum Israël. [22]Among them of Dan, Azarel the sonne of Ieroham. These are the lordes of the tribes of Israel
[23]Noluit autem David numerare eos a viginti annis inferius: quia dixerat Dominus ut multiplicaret Israël quasi stellas cæli. [23]But Dauid toke not the number of them vnder twentie yeres, because the Lorde saide he would encrease Israel lyke vnto the starres of the skye
[24]Joab filius Sarviæ cœperat numerare, nec complevit: quia super hoc ira irruerat in Israël: et idcirco numerus eorum qui fuerant recensiti, non est relatus in fastos regis David. [24]And Ioab the sonne of Zaruia began to number: but he finished it not, because that there fell wrath for it against Israel, neither was the number put into the cronicles of king Dauid
[25]Super thesauros autem regis fuit Azmoth filius Adiel: his autem thesauris, qui erant in urbibus, et in vicis, et in turribus, præsidebat Jonathan filius Oziæ. [25]Ouer the kinges treasures was Azmaueth the sonne of Adiel: And ouer the treasures of the fieldes, in the cities, and villages, and castels, was Iehonathan the sonne of Uzziahu
[26]Operi autem rustico, et agricolis, qui exercebant terram, præerat Ezri filius Chelub: [26]And ouer the workemen in the fieldes that tilled the grounde, was Ezri the sonne of Chelub
[27]vinearumque cultoribus, Semeias Romathites: cellis autem vinariis, Zabdias Aphonites. [27]And the ouersight of the vineyardes, had Semei the Ramathite: Ouer the encrease also of the vineyardes, & ouer the winesellers, was Sabdi the Zaphonite
[28]Nam super oliveta et ficeta, quæ erant in campestribus, Balanam Gederites: super apothecas autem olei, Joas. [28]And ouer the oliue trees and mulberie trees that were in the valleyes, was Baal Hanan the Gederite: And ouer the treasure of oyle, was Ioas
[29]Porro armentis, quæ pascebantur in Saron, præpositus fuit Setrai Saronites: et super boves in vallibus, Saphat filius Adli: [29]Ouer the oxen that fed in Saron, was Setrai the Saronite: And ouer the oxen that were in the valleyes, was Saphat the sonne of Adlai
[30]super camelos vero, Ubil Ismahelites: et super asinos, Jadias Meronathites: [30]Ouer the cammels, Obil the Ismaelite: And ouer the asses, was Iehdeiahu the Meronothite
[31]super oves quoque Jaziz Agareus: omnes hi, principes substantiæ regis David. [31]Ouer the sheepe was Iazez the Hagerite: All these were the rulers of the substaunce of king Dauid
[32]Jonathan autem patruus David, consiliarius, vir prudens et litteratus: ipse et Jahiel filius Hachamoni erant cum filiis regis. [32]And Iehonathan Dauids vncle, a man of counsell and of vnderstanding, was a scribe, and Iehiel the sonne of Hachmoni was with ye kinges sonnes [instructing them.
[33]Achitophel etiam consiliarius regis, et Chusai Arachites amicus regis. [33]And Ahitophel was of the kinges counsell: And Husai the Arachite was the kinges companion
[34]Post Achitophel fuit Jojada filius Banaiæ, et Abiathar. Princeps autem exercitus regis erat Joab. [34]And next to Ahitophel was Iehoiada the sonne of Banaiahu, and Abiathar: and the captayne of the kinges warre, was Ioab
