| [1]צבא אנא דינ דתדעונ אחי דאבהינ כלהונ תחית עננא הוו וכלהונ בימא עברו |
[1]Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, |
| [2]וכלהונ ביד מושׁא עמדו בעננא ובימא |
[2]And were all baptized unto Moses, in the cloud, and in the sea, |
| [3]וכלהונ חדא מאכולתא דרוחא אכלו |
[3]And did all eat the same spiritual meat, |
| [4]וכלהונ חד משׁתיא דרוחא אשׁתיו שׁתינ הוו גיר מנ כאפא דרוחא דאתיא הות עמהונ כאפא דינ הי הו הוא משׁיחא |
[4]And did all drink the same spiritual drink (for they drank of the spiritual Rock that followed them: and the Rock was Christ) |
| [5]אלא לא הוא בסוגאהונ אצטבי אלהא נפלו גיר במדברא |
[5]But with many of them God was not pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. |
| [6]הלינ דינ טופסא לנ הו הוו דלא הוינ רגינ בישׁתא איכנא דהנונ רגו |
[6]Now these are ensamples to us, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. |
| [7]ואפ לא נהוא פלחי פתכרא איכנא דאפ מנהונ פלחו איכ דכתיב דיתב עמא למאכל ולמשׁתא וקמו למשׁתעיו |
[7]Neither be ye idolaters as were some of them, as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. |
| [8]אפ לא נזנא איכנא דמנהונ זניו ונפלו בחד יומא עסרינ ותלתא אלפינ |
[8]Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed fornication, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. |
| [9]ולא ננסא למשׁיחא איכנא דמנהונ נסיו ואובדו אנונ חוותא |
[9]Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted him, and were destroyed of serpents. |
| [10]ואפ לא תרטנונ איכנא דמנהונ רטנו ואבדו באידי מחבלנא |
[10]Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. |
| [11]הלינ דינ כלהינ דגדשׁ להונ לטופסנ הוי ואתכתב מטל מרדותא דילנ דחרתהונ דעלמא עלינ מטית |
[11]Now all these things came unto them for ensamples, and were written to admonish us, upon whom the ends of the world are come. |
| [12]מכיל מנ דסבר דקמ נזדהר דלא נפל |
[12]Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall. |
| [13]נסיונא לא מטיכונ אלא דבח אנשׁא מהימנ הו דינ אלהא דלא נרפיכונ דתתנסונ יתיר מנ מדמ דמצינ אנתונ אלא נעבד לנסיונכונ מפקנא איכנא דתשׁכחונ למסיברו |
[13]There hath no temptation taken you, but such as appertaineth to man: and God is faithful, which will not suffer you to be tempted above that you be able, but will even give the issue with the temptation, that ye may be able to bear it. |
| [14]מטל הנא חביבי ערוקו מנ פולחנא דפתכרא |
[14]Wherefore my beloved, flee from idolatry. |
| [15]איכ דלחכימא אמר אנא דונו אנתונ מדמ דאמר אנא |
[15]I speak as unto them which have understanding: judge ye what I say. |
| [16]כסא הו דתודיתא דמברכינ חננ לא הוא שׁותפותא איתוהי דדמה דמשׁיחא ולחמא הו דקצינ חננ לא הוא שׁותפותא איתוהי דפגרה דמשׁיחא |
[16]The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? |
| [17]איכנא הכיל דחד הו לחמא הו הכנא כלנ חד חננ פגר כלנ גיר מנ הו הו חד לחמא נסבינ חננ |
[17]For we that are many, are one bread and one body, because we all are partakers of one bread. |
| [18]חזו ליסריל דבבסר לא הוא אילינ דאכלינ דבחא הוינ שׁותפא למדבחא |
[18]Behold Israel, which is after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar? |
| [19]מנא הכל אמר אנא דפתכרא מדמ איתוהי או דבחא דפתכרא מדמ הו לא |
[19]What say I then? that the idol is anything? or that that which is sacrificed to idols, is anything? |
| [20]אלא הו מדמ דדבחינ חנפא לשׁאדא הו דבחינ ולא לאלהא לא דינ צבא אנא דתהוונ שׁותפא לשׁאדא |
[20]Nay, but that these things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not unto God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with the devils. |
| [21]לא משׁכחינ אנתונ דתשׁתונ כסא דמרנ וכסא דשׁאדא ולא משׁכחינ אנתונ דתשׁתותפונ בפתורא דמרנ ובפתורא דשׁאדא |
[21]Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of the devils. Ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. |
| [22]או דלמא מטנו מטנינ חננ למרנ דלמא חסינינ חננ מנה |
[22]Do we provoke the Lord to anger? are we stronger than he? |
| [23]כל מדמ שׁליט לי אלא לא כל מדמ פקח כל מדמ שׁליט לי אלא לא כל מדמ מבנא |
[23]All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. |
| [24]לא אנשׁ דנפשׁה נהוא בעא אלא כל אנשׁ אפ דחברה |
[24]Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. |
| [25]כל מדמ דמזדבנ במקלונ הויתונ אכלינ דלא עוקבא מטל תארתא |
[25]Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat ye, and ask no question for conscience sake. |
| [26]דמריא הי גיר ארעא במלאה |
[26]For the earth is the Lord's, and all that therein is. |
| [27]אנ אנשׁ דינ מנ חנפא קרא לכונ וצבינ אנתונ למאזל כל מדמ דמתתסימ קדמיכונ אכולו דלא עוקבא מטל תארתא |
[27]If any of them which believe not, call you to a feast, and if ye will go, whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. |
| [28]אנ אנשׁ דינ נאמר לכונ הנא דדביחא הו לא תאכלונ מטל הו דאמר לכונ ומטל תארתא |
[28]But if any man say unto you, This is sacrificed unto idols, eat it not, because of him that showed it, and for the conscience (for the earth is the Lord's, and all that therein is) |
| [29]תארתא דינ אמר אנא לא הוא דילכונ אלא דהו דאמר למנא גיר חארותי מתתדינא מנ תארתא דאחרנא |
[29]And the conscience I say, not thine, but of that other: for why should my liberty be condemned of another man's conscience? |
| [30]אנ אנא בטיבותא מתחשׁח אנא מנא מתגדפ אנא על מדמ דאנא מודא אנא |
[30]For if I through God's benefit be partaker, why am I evil spoken of, for that wherefore I give thanks? |
| [31]אנ אכלינ אנתונ הכיל ואנ שׁתינ אנתונ ואנ מדמ עבדינ אנתונ כל מדמ לתשׁבוחתא דאלהא הויתונ עבדינ |
[31]Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. |
| [32]דלא תוקלא הוו ליהודיא ולארמיא ולעדתה דאלהא |
[32]Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Grecians, nor to the Church of God: |
| [33]איכ דאפ אנא בכל מדמ לכל אנשׁ שׁפר אנא ולא בעא אנא מדמ דלי פקח אלא מדמ דלסגיאא פקח דנחונ |
[33]Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they might be saved. |
