| [1]מסברינ חננ לכונ להו דאיתוהי הוא מנ ברשׁית הו דשׁמענ וחזיניהי בעינינ חזינ וגשׁנ באידינ הו דאיתוהי מלתא דחיא |
[1]That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the Word of life, |
| [2]וחיא אתגליו וחזינ וסהדינ חננ ומכרזינ חננ לכונ חיא דלעלמ הנונ דאיתיהונ הוו לות אבא ואתגליו לנ |
[2](For the life appeared, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and appeared unto us) |
| [3]ומדמ דחזינ ושׁמענ מודעינ חננ אפ לכונ דתהוא לכונ שׁותפותא עמנ ושׁותפותנ דינ דילנ איתיה עמ אבא ועמ ברה ישׁוע משׁיחא |
[3]That, I say, which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you, that ye may also have fellowship with us, and that our fellowship also may be with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. |
| [4]והלינ כתבינ חננ לכונ דחדותנ דבכונ תהוא משׁמליא |
[4]And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. |
| [5]והדא הי סברתא דשׁמענ מנה ומסברינ חננ לכונ דאלהא נוהרא הו וחשׁוכא כל כלה לית בה |
[5]This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness. |
| [6]ואנ אמרינ חננ דשׁותפותא אית לנ עמה ומהלכינ חננ בחשׁוכא דגלא חננ ולו בשׁררא רדיננ |
[6]If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not truly. |
| [7]אנ דינ בנוהרא מהלכינ חננ איכ דהו איתוהי בנוהרא אית לנ שׁותפותא עמ חדדא ודמא דישׁוע ברה מדכא לנ מנ כלהונ חטהינ |
[7]But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. |
| [8]ואנ נאמר דלית לנ חטיתא נפשׁנ מטעינ חננ ושׁררא לית בנ |
[8]If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and truth is not in us. |
| [9]אנ דינ מודינ חננ בחטהינ מהימנ הו וזדיק דנשׁבוק לנ חטהינ ונדכינ מנ כלה עולנ |
[9]If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
| [10]ואנ אמרינ חננ דלא חטינ עבדינ חננ לה דגלא ומלתה לית לותנ |
[10]If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. |
