| [1]חביבי לא לכל רוחינ תהימנונ אלא הויתונ פרשׁינ רוחא אנ מנ אלהא איתיהינ מטל דסגיאא נביא דגלא נפקו בה בעלמא |
[1]Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: for many false prophets are gone out into the world. |
| [2]בהדא מתידעא רוחה דאלהא כל רוחא דמודינ דישׁוע משׁיחא אתא בבסר מנ אלהא הי |
[2]Hereby shall ye know the Spirit of God, Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. |
| [3]וכל רוחא דלא מודיא דישׁוע אתא בבסר ליתיה מנ אלהא אלא הדא מנ משׁיחא הי דגלא הו דשׁמעתונ דאתא והשׁא בעלמא איתוהי מנ כדו |
[3]And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God: but this is the spirit of Antichrist, of whom ye have heard, how that he should come and now already he is in the world. |
| [4]אנתונ דינ מנ אלהא איתיכונ בניא וזכיתונ אנונ מטל דרב הו דבכונ מנ הו דבעלמא |
[4]Little children, ye are of God, and have overcome them: for greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. |
| [5]והלינ מנ עלמא אנונ מטל הנא מנ עלמא ממללינ ועלמא להונ שׁמע |
[5]They are of the world, therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. |
| [6]חננ דינ מנ אלהא חננ והו דידע לאלהא שׁמע לנ והו דלא איתוהי מנ אלהא לא שׁמע לנ בה בהדא מסתכלינ חננ לרוחא דשׁררא ולרוחא דמטעינותא |
[6]We are of God, he that knoweth God, heareth us: he that is not of God, heareth us not. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. |
| [7]חביבי נחב חד לחד מטל דחובא מנ אלהא הו וכל מנ דמחב מנ אלהא יליד וידע לאלהא |
[7]Beloved, let us love one another: for love cometh of God, and every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God. |
| [8]מטל דאלהא חובא הו וכל דלא מחב לא ידע לאלהא |
[8]He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. |
| [9]בהדא אתידע חובה דאלהא דלותנ דלברה יחידיא שׁדר אלהא לעלמא דנחא באידה |
[9]In this appeared the love of God toward us, because God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
| [10]בהנא איתוהי חובא לא הוא דחננ אחבנ לאלהא אלא הו אחבנ ושׁדר לברה חוסיא על אפי חטהינ |
[10]Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be a reconciliation for our sins. |
| [11]חביבי אנ הכנא אחבנ אלהא אפ חננ חיבינ חננ חד לחד למחבו |
[11]Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. |
| [12]לאלהא ממתומ אנשׁ לא חזיהי אנ דינ נחב חד לחד אלהא בנ מקוא וחובה משׁתמלא בנ |
[12]No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfect in us. |
| [13]ובהדא ידעינ חננ דבה מקוינ חננ והו מקוא בנ דמנ רוחה יהב לנ |
[13]Hereby know we, that we dwell in him, and he in us: because he hath given us of his Spirit. |
| [14]וחננ חזינ ומסהדינ חננ דאבא שׁדר לברה פרוקא לעלמא |
[14]And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. |
| [15]כל דמודא בישׁוע דהויו ברה דאלהא אלהא בה מקוא והו מקוא באלהא |
[15]Whosoever confesseth that Jesus is the Son of God, in him dwelleth God, and he in God. |
| [16]וחננ הימננ וידענ חובא דאית לה לאלהא צאדינ אלהא גיר חובא הו וכל דמקוא בחובא באלהא מקוא |
[16]And we have known, and believed the love that God hath in us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. |
| [17]ובהדא משׁתלמ חובה עמנ דגליות אפא תהוא לנ ביומא דדינא מטל דאיכ דהוא הו הכנא אפ חננ איתינ בהנא עלמא |
[17]Herein is the love perfect in us, that we should have boldness in the day of judgment: for as he is, even so are we in this world. |
| [18]דחלתא בחובא לית אלא חובא משׁמליא לבר שׁדא לה לדחלתא מטל דדחלתא בקנטא איתיה הו דינ דדחל לא משׁמלי בחובא |
[18]There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: for fear hath painfulness: and he that feareth, is not perfect in love. |
| [19]חננ הכיל נחב לאלהא מטל דהו קדמית אחבנ |
[19]We love him, because he loved us first. |
| [20]אנ דינ אנשׁ נאמר דמחב אנא לאלהא ולאחוהי סנא דגלא הו הו גיר דלאחוהי דמתחזא לא מחב לאלהא הו דלא מתחזא איכנא משׁכח דנחב |
[20]If any man say, I love God, and hate his brother, he is a liar: for how can he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, love God whom he hath not seen? |
| [21]והנא פוקדנא קבלנ מנה דכל דמחב לאלהא נחב אפ לאחוהי |
[21]And this commandment have we of him, that he which loveth God, should love his brother also. |
