[2]καὶ ἐκλέγεται σαουλ ἑαυτῷ τρεῖς χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν ἐκ τῶν ἀνδρῶν ισραηλ καὶ ἦσαν μετὰ σαουλ δισχίλιοι ἐν μαχεμας καὶ ἐν τῷ ὄρει βαιθηλ χίλιοι ἦσαν μετὰ ιωναθαν ἐν γαβεε τοῦ βενιαμιν καὶ τὸ κατάλοιπον τοῦ λαοῦ ἐξαπέστειλεν ἕκαστον εἰς τὸ σκήνωμα αὐτοῦ |
| [3]And JonathanH3129 smoteH5221[H8686] the garrisonH5333 of the PhilistinesH6430 that was in GebaH1387, and the PhilistinesH6430 heardH8085[H8799] of it. And SaulH7586 blewH8628[H8804] the trumpetH7782 throughout all the landH776, sayingH559[H8800], Let the HebrewsH5680 hearH8085.[H8799] |
[3]καὶ ἐπάταξεν ιωναθαν τὸν νασιβ τὸν ἀλλόφυλον τὸν ἐν τῷ βουνῷ καὶ ἀκούουσιν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ σαουλ σάλπιγγι σαλπίζει εἰς πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν λέγων ἠθετήκασιν οἱ δοῦλοι |
| [4]And all IsraelH3478 heardH8085[H8804] sayH559[H8800] that SaulH7586 had smittenH5221[H8689] a garrisonH5333 of the PhilistinesH6430, and that IsraelH3478 also was had in abominationH887[H8738] with the PhilistinesH6430. And the peopleH5971 were called togetherH6817[H8735] afterH310 SaulH7586 to GilgalH1537. |
[4]καὶ πᾶς ισραηλ ἤκουσεν λεγόντων πέπαικεν σαουλ τὸν νασιβ τὸν ἀλλόφυλον καὶ ᾐσχύνθησαν ισραηλ ἐν τοῖς ἀλλοφύλοις καὶ ἀνεβόησαν ὁ λαὸς ὀπίσω σαουλ ἐν γαλγαλοις |
| [5]And the PhilistinesH6430 gathered themselves togetherH622[H8738] to fightH3898[H8736] with IsraelH3478, thirtyH7970 thousandH505 chariotsH7393, and sixH8337 thousandH505 horsemenH6571, and peopleH5971 as the sandH2344 which is on the seaH3220 shoreH8193 in multitudeH7230: and they came upH5927[H8799], and pitchedH2583[H8799] in MichmashH4363, eastwardH6926 from BethavenH1007. |
[5]καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι συνάγονται εἰς πόλεμον ἐπὶ ισραηλ καὶ ἀναβαίνουσιν ἐπὶ ισραηλ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες ἁρμάτων καὶ ἓξ χιλιάδες ἱππέων καὶ λαὸς ὡς ἡ ἄμμος ἡ παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν τῷ πλήθει καὶ ἀναβαίνουσιν καὶ παρεμβάλλουσιν ἐν μαχεμας ἐξ ἐναντίας βαιθων κατὰ νότου |
| [6]When the menH376 of IsraelH3478 sawH7200[H8804] that they were in a straitH6887[H8804], (for the peopleH5971 were distressedH5065[H8738],) then the peopleH5971 did hideH2244[H8691] themselves in cavesH4631, and in thicketsH2337, and in rocksH5553, and in high placesH6877, and in pitsH953. |
[6]καὶ ἀνὴρ ισραηλ εἶδεν ὅτι στενῶς αὐτῷ μὴ προσάγειν αὐτόν καὶ ἐκρύβη ὁ λαὸς ἐν τοῖς σπηλαίοις καὶ ἐν ταῖς μάνδραις καὶ ἐν ταῖς πέτραις καὶ ἐν τοῖς βόθροις καὶ ἐν τοῖς λάκκοις |
| [7]And some of the HebrewsH5680 went overH5674[H8804] JordanH3383 to the landH776 of GadH1410 and GileadH1568. As for SaulH7586, he was yet in GilgalH1537, and all the peopleH5971 followedH310 him tremblingH2729.[H8804] |
[7]καὶ οἱ διαβαίνοντες διέβησαν τὸν ιορδάνην εἰς γῆν γαδ καὶ γαλααδ καὶ σαουλ ἔτι ἦν ἐν γαλγαλοις καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἐξέστη ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ |
| [8]And he tarriedH3176[H8686][H8675][H3176][H8735] sevenH7651 daysH3117, according to the set timeH4150 that SamuelH8050 had appointed: but SamuelH8050 cameH935[H8804] not to GilgalH1537; and the peopleH5971 were scatteredH6327 from himH8686. |
[8]καὶ διέλιπεν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας τῷ μαρτυρίῳ ὡς εἶπεν σαμουηλ καὶ οὐ παρεγένετο σαμουηλ εἰς γαλγαλα καὶ διεσπάρη ὁ λαὸς αὐτοῦ ἀπ αὐτοῦ |
| [9]And SaulH7586 saidH559[H8799], Bring hitherH5066[H8685] a burnt offeringH5930 to me, and peace offeringsH8002. And he offeredH5927[H8686] the burnt offeringH5930. |
[9]καὶ εἶπεν σαουλ προσαγάγετε ὅπως ποιήσω ὁλοκαύτωσιν καὶ εἰρηνικάς καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν |
| [10]And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an endH3615[H8763] of offeringH5927[H8687] the burnt offeringH5930, behold, SamuelH8050 cameH935[H8802]; and SaulH7586 went outH3318[H8799] to meetH7125[H8800] him, that he might saluteH1288 himH8800. |
[10]καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς συνετέλεσεν ἀναφέρων τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν καὶ σαμουηλ παραγίνεται καὶ ἐξῆλθεν σαουλ εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτῷ εὐλογῆσαι αὐτόν |
| [11]And SamuelH8050 saidH559[H8799], What hast thou doneH6213[H8804]? And SaulH7586 saidH559[H8799], Because I sawH7200[H8804] that the peopleH5971 were scatteredH5310[H8804] from me, and that thou camestH935[H8804] not within the daysH3117 appointedH4150, and that the PhilistinesH6430 gathered themselves togetherH622[H8737] at MichmashH4363; |
[11]καὶ εἶπεν σαμουηλ τί πεποίηκας καὶ εἶπεν σαουλ ὅτι εἶδον ὡς διεσπάρη ὁ λαὸς ἀπ ἐμοῦ καὶ σὺ οὐ παρεγένου ὡς διετάξω ἐν τῷ μαρτυρίῳ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι συνήχθησαν εἰς μαχεμας |
| [12]Therefore saidH559[H8799] I, The PhilistinesH6430 will come downH3381[H8799] now upon me to GilgalH1537, and I have not made supplicationH2470[H8765] untoH6440 the LORDH3068: I forcedH662[H8691] myself therefore, and offeredH5927[H8686] a burnt offeringH5930. |
[12]καὶ εἶπα νῦν καταβήσονται οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι πρός με εἰς γαλγαλα καὶ τοῦ προσώπου τοῦ κυρίου οὐκ ἐδεήθην καὶ ἐνεκρατευσάμην καὶ ἀνήνεγκα τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν |
| [13]And SamuelH8050 saidH559[H8799] to SaulH7586, Thou hast done foolishlyH5528[H8738]: thou hast not keptH8104[H8804] the commandmentH4687 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, which he commandedH6680[H8765] thee: for now would the LORDH3068 have establishedH3559[H8689] thy kingdomH4467 upon IsraelH3478 forH5704 everH5769. |
[13]καὶ εἶπεν σαμουηλ πρὸς σαουλ μεματαίωταί σοι ὅτι οὐκ ἐφύλαξας τὴν ἐντολήν μου ἣν ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὡς νῦν ἡτοίμασεν κύριος τὴν βασιλείαν σου ἕως αἰῶνος ἐπὶ ισραηλ |
| [14]But now thy kingdomH4467 shall not continueH6965[H8799]: the LORDH3068 hath soughtH1245[H8765] him a manH376 after his own heartH3824, and the LORDH3068 hath commandedH6680[H8762] him to be captainH5057 over his peopleH5971, because thou hast not keptH8104[H8804] that which the LORDH3068 commandedH6680 theeH8765. |
[14]καὶ νῦν ἡ βασιλεία σου οὐ στήσεται καὶ ζητήσει κύριος ἑαυτῷ ἄνθρωπον κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐντελεῖται κύριος αὐτῷ εἰς ἄρχοντα ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὐκ ἐφύλαξας ὅσα ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος |
| [15]And SamuelH8050 aroseH6965[H8799], and gat him upH5927[H8799] from GilgalH1537 unto GibeahH1390 of BenjaminH1144. And SaulH7586 numberedH6485[H8799] the peopleH5971 that were presentH4672[H8737] with him, about sixH8337 hundredH3967 menH376. |
[15]καὶ ἀνέστη σαμουηλ καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἐκ γαλγαλων εἰς ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ κατάλειμμα τοῦ λαοῦ ἀνέβη ὀπίσω σαουλ εἰς ἀπάντησιν ὀπίσω τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ πολεμιστοῦ αὐτῶν παραγενομένων ἐκ γαλγαλων εἰς γαβαα βενιαμιν καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο σαουλ τὸν λαὸν τὸν εὑρεθέντα μετ αὐτοῦ ὡς ἑξακοσίους ἄνδρας |
| [16]And SaulH7586, and JonathanH3129 his sonH1121, and the peopleH5971 that were presentH4672[H8737] with them, abodeH3427[H8802] in GibeahH1387 of BenjaminH1144: but the PhilistinesH6430 encampedH2583[H8804] in MichmashH4363. |
[16]καὶ σαουλ καὶ ιωναθαν υἱὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ λαὸς οἱ εὑρεθέντες μετ αὐτῶν ἐκάθισαν ἐν γαβεε βενιαμιν καὶ ἔκλαιον καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι παρεμβεβλήκεισαν εἰς μαχεμας |
| [17]And the spoilersH7843[H8688] came outH3318[H8799] of the campH4264 of the PhilistinesH6430 in threeH7969 companiesH7218: oneH259 companyH7218 turnedH6437[H8799] unto the wayH1870 that leadeth to OphrahH6084, unto the landH776 of ShualH7777: |
[17]καὶ ἐξῆλθεν διαφθείρων ἐξ ἀγροῦ ἀλλοφύλων τρισὶν ἀρχαῖς ἡ ἀρχὴ ἡ μία ἐπιβλέπουσα ὁδὸν γοφερα ἐπὶ γῆν σωγαλ |
| [18]And anotherH259 companyH7218 turnedH6437[H8799] the wayH1870 to BethhoronH1032: and anotherH259 companyH7218 turnedH6437[H8799] to the wayH1870 of the borderH1366 that lookethH8259[H8737] to the valleyH1516 of ZeboimH6650 toward the wildernessH4057. |
[18]καὶ ἡ μία ἀρχὴ ἐπιβλέπουσα ὁδὸν βαιθωρων καὶ ἡ ἀρχὴ ἡ μία ἐπιβλέπουσα ὁδὸν γαβεε τὴν εἰσκύπτουσαν ἐπὶ γαι τὴν σαβιν |
| [19]Now there was no smithH2796 foundH4672[H8735] throughout all the landH776 of IsraelH3478: for the PhilistinesH6430 saidH559[H8804], Lest the HebrewsH5680 makeH6213[H8799] them swordsH2719 or spearsH2595: |
[19]καὶ τέκτων σιδήρου οὐχ εὑρίσκετο ἐν πάσῃ γῇ ισραηλ ὅτι εἶπον οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι μὴ ποιήσωσιν οἱ εβραῖοι ῥομφαίαν καὶ δόρυ |
| [20]But all the IsraelitesH3478 went downH3381[H8799] to the PhilistinesH6430, to sharpenH3913[H8800] every manH376 his shareH4282, and his coulterH855, and his axeH7134, and his mattockH4281. |
[20]καὶ κατέβαινον πᾶς ισραηλ εἰς γῆν ἀλλοφύλων χαλκεύειν ἕκαστος τὸ θέριστρον αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ σκεῦος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστος τὴν ἀξίνην αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ δρέπανον αὐτοῦ |
| [21]Yet they had a fileH6477[H6310] for the mattocksH4281, and for the coultersH855, and for the forksH7969[H7053], and for the axesH7134, and to sharpenH5324[H8687] the goadsH1861. |
[21]καὶ ἦν ὁ τρυγητὸς ἕτοιμος τοῦ θερίζειν τὰ δὲ σκεύη ἦν τρεῖς σίκλοι εἰς τὸν ὀδόντα καὶ τῇ ἀξίνῃ καὶ τῷ δρεπάνῳ ὑπόστασις ἦν ἡ αὐτή |
| [22]So it came to pass in the dayH3117 of battleH4421, that there was neither swordH2719 nor spearH2595 foundH4672[H8738] in the handH3027 of any of the peopleH5971 that were with SaulH7586 and JonathanH3129: but with SaulH7586 and with JonathanH3129 his sonH1121 was there foundH4672.[H8735] |
[22]καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ πολέμου μαχεμας καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθη ῥομφαία καὶ δόρυ ἐν χειρὶ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ μετὰ σαουλ καὶ μετὰ ιωναθαν καὶ εὑρέθη τῷ σαουλ καὶ τῷ ιωναθαν υἱῷ αὐτοῦ |
| [23]And the garrisonH4673 of the PhilistinesH6430 went outH3318[H8799] to the passageH4569 of MichmashH4363. |
[23]καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐξ ὑποστάσεως τῶν ἀλλοφύλων τὴν ἐν τῷ πέραν μαχεμας |
