[1]And Saul speaketh unto Jonathan his son, and unto all his servants, to put David to death, |

[2]and Jonathan son of Saul delighted exceedingly in David, and Jonathan declareth to David, saying, `Saul my father is seeking to put thee to death, and, now, take heed, I pray thee, in the morning, and thou hast abode in a secret place, and been hidden, |
| [3]καίC ἐγώRP-NS ἐκἔρχομαιVF-FMI1S καίC ἵστημιVF-FMI1S ἔχωV1-PMPNSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM ἐγώRP-GS ἐνP ἀγρόςN2-DSM οὗD ἐάνC εἰμίV9-PAS2S ἐκεῖD καίC ἐγώRP-NS λαλέωVF-FAI1S περίP σύRP-GS πρόςP ὁRA-ASM πατήρN3-ASM ἐγώRP-GS καίC ὁράωVF-FMI1S ὅςRR-ASN τιςRI-ASN ἐάνC εἰμίV9-PAS3S καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVF2-FAI1S σύRP-DS |
[3]and I -- I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where thou [art], and I speak of thee unto my father, and have seen what [is coming], and have declared to thee.' |

[4]And Jonathan speaketh good of David unto Saul his father, and saith unto him, `Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works for thee [are] very good; |

[5]yea, he putteth his life in his hand, and smiteth the Philistine, and Jehovah worketh a great salvation for all Israel; thou hast seen, and dost rejoice, and why dost thou sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?' |
| [6]καίC ἀκούωVAI-AAI3S *σαούλN--NSM ὁRA-GSF φωνήN1-GSF *ιωναθανN--GSM καίC ὄμνυμιVAI-AAI3S *σαούλN--NSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ζάωV3-PAS3S κύριοςN2-NSM εἰC ἀποθνήσκωVF2-FMI3S |
[6]And Saul hearkeneth to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul sweareth, `Jehovah liveth -- he doth not die.' |
| [7]καίC καλέωVAI-AAI3S *ιωναθανN--NSM ὁRA-ASM *δαυίδN--ASM καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM πᾶςA3-APN ὁRA-APN ῥῆμαN3M-APN οὗτοςRD-APN καίC εἰςἄγωVBI-AAI3S *ιωναθανN--NSM ὁRA-ASM *δαυίδN--ASM πρόςP *σαούλN--ASM καίC εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐνώπιονP αὐτόςRD-GSM ὡσείX ἐχθέςD καίC τρίτοςA1-ASF ἡμέραN1A-ASF |
[7]And Jonathan calleth for David, and Jonathan declareth to him all these words, and Jonathan bringeth in David unto Saul, and he is before him as heretofore. |
| [8]καίC προςτίθημιVEI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSM πόλεμοςN2-NSM γίγνομαιVB-AMN πρόςP *σαούλN--ASM καίC καταἰσχύωVAI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM καίC πολεμέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM ἀλλόφυλοςA1B-APM καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DPM πληγήN1-ASF μέγαςA1-ASF σφόδραD καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3P ἐκP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[8]And there addeth to be war, and David goeth out and fighteth against the Philistines, and smiteth among them -- a great smiting, and they flee from his face. |
| [9]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S πνεῦμαN3M-NSN θεόςN2-GSM πονηρόςA1A-NSN ἐπίP *σαούλN--GSM καίC αὐτόςRD-NSM ἐνP οἶκοςN2-DSM καταεὕδωV1-PAPNSM καίC δόρυN3-NSN ἐνP ὁRA-DSF χείρN3-DSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC *δαυίδN--NSM ψάλλωV1I-IAI3S ἐνP ὁRA-DPF χείρN3-DPF αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[9]And a spirit of sadness [from] Jehovah is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand, |
| [10]καίC ζητέωV2I-IAI3S *σαούλN--NSM πατάσσωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASN δόρυN3-ASN εἰςP *δαυίδN--ASM καίC ἀποἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM ἐκP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN *σαούλN--GSM καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN δόρυN3-ASN εἰςP ὁRA-ASM τοῖχοςN2-ASM καίC *δαυίδN--NSM ἀναχωρέωVAI-AAI3S καίC διασώζωVCI-API3S |
[10]and Saul seeketh to smite with the javelin through David, and through the wall, and he freeth himself from the presence of Saul, and he smiteth the javelin through the wall; and David hath fled and escapeth during that night. |
| [11]καίC γίγνομαιVCI-API3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSF νύξN3-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S *σαούλN--NSM ἄγγελοςN2-APM εἰςP οἶκοςN2-ASM *δαυίδN--GSM φυλάσσωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-GSN θανατόωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASM πρωΐD καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM *δαυίδN--DSM *μελχολN--NSF ὁRA-NSF γυνήN3K-NSF αὐτόςRD-GSM λέγωV1-PAPNSF ἐάνC μήD σύRP-NS σώζωVA-AAS2S ὁRA-ASF ψυχήN1-ASF σεαυτοῦRD-GSM ὁRA-ASF νύξN3-ASF οὗτοςRD-ASF αὔριονD θανατόωVC-FPI2S |
[11]And Saul sendeth messengers unto the house of David to watch him, and to put him to death in the morning; and Michal his wife declareth to David, saying, `If thou art not delivering thy life to-night -- tomorrow thou art put to death.' |
| [12]καίC καταἄγωV1-PAI3S ὁRA-NSF *μελχολN--NSF ὁRA-ASM *δαυίδN--ASM διάP ὁRA-GSF θυρίςN3D-GSF καίC ἀποἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3S καίC σώζωV1-PMI3S |
[12]And Michal causeth David to go down through the window, and he goeth on, and fleeth, and escapeth; |
| [13]καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF *μελχολN--NSF ὁRA-APN κενοτάφιονN2N-APN καίC τίθημιVEI-AMI3S ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF κλίνηN1-ASF καίC ἧπαρN3T-NSN ὁRA-GPM αἴξN3G-GPM τίθημιVEI-AMI3S πρόςP κεφαλήN1-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC καλύπτωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APN ἱμάτιονN2N-DSN |
[13]and Michal taketh the teraphim, and layeth on the bed, and the mattress of goats' [hair] she hath put [for] his pillows, and covereth with a garment. |
| [14]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S *σαούλN--NSM ἄγγελοςN2-APM λαμβάνωVB-AAN ὁRA-ASM *δαυίδN--ASM καίC λέγωV1-PAI3P ἐνὀχλέωVA-AMN αὐτόςRD-ASM |
[14]And Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and she saith, `He [is] sick.' |
| [15]καίC ἀποστέλλωV1-PAI3S ἐπίP ὁRA-ASM *δαυίδN--ASM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἄγωVX-XAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF κλίνηN1-GSF πρόςP ἐγώRP-AS ὁRA-GSN θανατόωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASM |
[15]And Saul sendeth the messengers to see David, saying, `Bring him up in the bed unto me,' -- to put him to death. |
| [16]καίC ἔρχομαιV1-PMI3P ὁRA-NPM ἄγγελοςN2-NPM καίC ἰδούI ὁRA-APN κενοτάφιονN2N-APN ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF κλίνηN1-GSF καίC ἧπαρN3T-NSN ὁRA-GPM αἴξN3G-GPM πρόςP κεφαλήN1-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[16]And the messengers come in, and lo, the teraphim [are] on the bed, and the mattress of goats' [hair], [for] his pillows. |
| [17]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *σαούλN--NSM ὁRA-DSF *μελχολN--DSF ἵναC τίςRI-ASN οὕτωςD παραλογίζομαιVAI-AMI2S ἐγώRP-AS καίC ἐκ ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI2S ὁRA-ASM ἐχθρόςN2-ASM ἐγώRP-GS καίC διασώζωVCI-API3S καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *μελχολN--NSM ὁRA-DSM *σαούλN--DSM αὐτόςRP-NSM εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἐκ ἀποστέλλωVA-AAD2S ἐγώRP-AS εἰC δέX μήD θανατόωVF-FAI1S σύRP-AS |
[17]And Saul saith unto Michal, `Why thus hast thou deceived me -- that thou dost send away mine enemy, and he is escaped?' and Michal saith unto Saul, `He said unto me, Send me away: why do I put thee to death?' |
| [18]καίC *δαυίδN--NSM φεύγωVBI-AAI3S καίC διασώζωVCI-API3S καίC παραγίγνομαιV1-PMI3S πρόςP *σαμουηλN--ASM εἰςP *αρμαθαιμN--ASM καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωV1-PAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM πᾶςA3-APN ὅσοςA1-APN ποιέωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM *σαούλN--NSM καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S *δαυίδN--NSM καίC *σαμουηλN--NSM καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP *ναυαθN--DS ἐνP *ραμαN--DS |
[18]And David hath fled, and is escaped, and cometh in unto Samuel to Ramath, and declareth to him all that Saul hath done to him, and he goeth, he and Samuel, and they dwell in Naioth. |
| [19]καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVDI-API3S ὁRA-DSM *σαούλN--DSM λέγωV1-PAPNPM ἰδούI *δαυίδN--NSM ἐνP *ναυαθN--DS ἐνP *ραμαN--DS |
[19]And it is declared to Saul, saying, `Lo, David [is] in Naioth in Ramah.' |
| [20]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S *σαούλN--NSM ἄγγελοςN2-APM λαμβάνωVB-AAN ὁRA-ASM *δαυίδN--ASM καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASF ἐκκλησίαN1A-ASF ὁRA-GPM προφήτηςN1M-GPM καίC *σαμουηλN--ASM ἵστημιVXI-YAI3S καταἵστημιVXI-XAPNSM ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC γίγνομαιVCI-API3S ἐπίP ὁRA-APM ἄγγελοςN2-APM ὁRA-GSM *σαούλN--GSM πνεῦμαN3M-NSN θεόςN2-GSM καίC προφητεύωV1-PAI3P |
[20]And Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and they see the assembly of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing, set over them, and the Spirit of God is on Saul's messengers, and they prophesy -- they also. |
| [21]καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVDI-API3S ὁRA-DSM *σαούλN--DSM καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ἄγγελοςN2-APM ἕτεροςA1A-APM καίC προφητεύωVAI-AAI3P καίC αὐτόςRD-NPM καίC προςτίθημιVEI-AMI3S *σαούλN--NSM ἀποστέλλωVA-AAN ἄγγελοςN2-APM τρίτοςA1-APM καίC προφητεύωVAI-AAI3P καίC αὐτόςRD-NPM |
[21]And they declare [it] to Saul, and he sendeth other messengers, and they prophesy -- they also; and Saul addeth and sendeth messengers a third time, and they prophesy -- they also. |
| [22]καίC θυμόωVCI-API3S ὀργήN1-DSF *σαούλN--NSM καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S καίC αὐτόςRD-NSM εἰςP *αρμαθαιμN--AS καίC ἔρχομαιV1-PMI3S ἕωςP ὁRA-GSN φρέαρN3T-GSN ὁRA-GSM ἅλωνN3-GSM ὁRA-GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM *σεφιN--DSM καίC ἐρωτάωVAI-AAI3S καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ποῦD *σαμουηλN--NSM καίC *δαυίδN--NSM καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P ἰδούI ἐνP *ναυαθN--DS ἐνP *ραμαN--DS |
[22]And he goeth -- he also -- to Ramath, and cometh in unto the great well which [is] in Sechu, and asketh, and saith, `Where [are] Samuel and David?' and [one] saith, `Lo, in Naioth in Ramah.' |

[23]And he goeth thither -- unto Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God is upon him -- him also; and he goeth, going on, and he prophesyeth till his coming in to Naioth in Ramah, |
| [24]καίC ἐκδύωVAI-AMI3S ὁRA-APN ἱμάτιονN2N-APN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC προφητεύωVAI-AAI3S ἐνώπιονP αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC πίπτωVAI-AAI3S γυμνόςA1-NSM ὅλοςA1-ASF ὁRA-ASF ἡμέραN1A-ASF ἐκεῖνοςRD-ASF καίC ὅλοςA1-ASF ὁRA-ASF νύξN3-ASF διάP οὗτοςRD-ASN λέγωV1I-IAI3P εἰC καίC *σαούλN--NSM ἐνP προφήτηςN1M-DPM |
[24]and he strippeth off -- he also -- his garments, and prophesieth -- he also -- before Samuel, and falleth down naked all that day and all the night; therefore they say, `Is Saul also among the prophets?' |
