[1]καὶ ἐγενήθη εἰσελθόντος δαυιδ καὶ τῶν ἀνδρῶν αὐτοῦ εἰς σεκελακ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ αμαληκ ἐπέθετο ἐπὶ τὸν νότον καὶ ἐπὶ σεκελακ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν σεκελακ καὶ ἐνεπύρισεν αὐτὴν ἐν πυρί |
| [2]And had taken the womenH802 captivesH7617[H8799], that were therein: they slewH4191[H8689] not anyH376, either greatH1419 or smallH6996, but carried them awayH5090[H8799], and wentH3212[H8799] on their wayH1870. |
[2]καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου οὐκ ἐθανάτωσαν ἄνδρα καὶ γυναῖκα ἀλλ ᾐχμαλώτευσαν καὶ ἀπῆλθον εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτῶν |

[3]καὶ ἦλθεν δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐμπεπύρισται ἐν πυρί αἱ δὲ γυναῖκες αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες αὐτῶν ᾐχμαλωτευμένοι |

[5]καὶ ἀμφότεραι αἱ γυναῖκες δαυιδ ᾐχμαλωτεύθησαν αχινοομ ἡ ιεζραηλῖτις καὶ αβιγαια ἡ γυνὴ ναβαλ τοῦ καρμηλίου |
| [6]And DavidH1732 was greatlyH3966 distressedH3334[H8799]; for the peopleH5971 spakeH559[H8804] of stoningH5619[H8800] him, because the soulH5315 of all the peopleH5971 was grievedH4843[H8804], every manH376 for his sonsH1121 and for his daughtersH1323: but DavidH1732 encouragedH2388[H8691] himself in the LORDH3068 his GodH430. |
[6]καὶ ἐθλίβη δαυιδ σφόδρα ὅτι εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς λιθοβολῆσαι αὐτόν ὅτι κατώδυνος ψυχὴ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἑκάστου ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκραταιώθη δαυιδ ἐν κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτοῦ |

[7]καὶ εἶπεν δαυιδ πρὸς αβιαθαρ τὸν ἱερέα υἱὸν αχιμελεχ προσάγαγε τὸ εφουδ |
| [8]And DavidH1732 enquiredH7592[H8799] at the LORDH3068, sayingH559[H8800], Shall I pursueH7291[H8799] afterH310 this troopH1416? shall I overtakeH5381[H8686] them? And he answeredH559[H8799] him, PursueH7291[H8798]: for thou shalt surelyH5381[H8687] overtakeH5381[H8686] them, and without failH5337[H8687] recoverH5337 allH8686. |
[8]καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν δαυιδ διὰ τοῦ κυρίου λέγων εἰ καταδιώξω ὀπίσω τοῦ γεδδουρ τούτου εἰ καταλήμψομαι αὐτούς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ καταδίωκε ὅτι καταλαμβάνων καταλήμψῃ καὶ ἐξαιρούμενος ἐξελῇ |
| [9]So DavidH1732 wentH3212[H8799], he and the sixH8337 hundredH3967 menH376 that were with him, and cameH935[H8799] to the brookH5158 BesorH1308, where those that were left behindH3498[H8737] stayedH5975.[H8804] |
[9]καὶ ἐπορεύθη δαυιδ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἑξακόσιοι ἄνδρες μετ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔρχονται ἕως τοῦ χειμάρρου βοσορ καὶ οἱ περισσοὶ ἔστησαν |

[10]καὶ κατεδίωξεν ἐν τετρακοσίοις ἀνδράσιν ὑπέστησαν δὲ διακόσιοι ἄνδρες οἵτινες ἐκάθισαν πέραν τοῦ χειμάρρου τοῦ βοσορ |

[11]καὶ εὑρίσκουσιν ἄνδρα αἰγύπτιον ἐν ἀγρῷ καὶ λαμβάνουσιν αὐτὸν καὶ ἄγουσιν αὐτὸν πρὸς δαυιδ ἐν ἀγρῷ καὶ διδόασιν αὐτῷ ἄρτον καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἐπότισαν αὐτὸν ὕδωρ |

[12]καὶ διδόασιν αὐτῷ κλάσμα παλάθης καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ κατέστη τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ ἐν αὐτῷ ὅτι οὐ βεβρώκει ἄρτον καὶ οὐ πεπώκει ὕδωρ τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας |

[13]καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ δαυιδ τίνος σὺ εἶ καὶ πόθεν εἶ καὶ εἶπεν τὸ παιδάριον τὸ αἰγύπτιον ἐγώ εἰμι δοῦλος ἀνδρὸς αμαληκίτου καὶ κατέλιπέν με ὁ κύριός μου ὅτι ἠνωχλήθην ἐγὼ σήμερον τριταῖος |
| [14]We made an invasionH6584[H8804] upon the southH5045 of the CherethitesH3774, and upon the coast which belongeth to JudahH3063, and upon the southH5045 of CalebH3612; and we burnedH8313[H8804] ZiklagH6860 with fireH784. |
[14]καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐπεθέμεθα ἐπὶ νότον τοῦ χολθι καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ τῆς ιουδαίας μέρη καὶ ἐπὶ νότον χελουβ καὶ τὴν σεκελακ ἐνεπυρίσαμεν ἐν πυρί |
| [15]And DavidH1732 saidH559[H8799] to him, Canst thou bring me downH3381[H8686] to this companyH1416? And he saidH559[H8799], SwearH7650[H8734] unto me by GodH430, that thou wilt neither killH4191[H8686] me, norH518 deliverH5462[H8686] me into the handsH3027 of my masterH113, and I will bring thee downH3381[H8686] to this companyH1416. |
[15]καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν δαυιδ εἰ κατάξεις με ἐπὶ τὸ γεδδουρ τοῦτο καὶ εἶπεν ὄμοσον δή μοι κατὰ τοῦ θεοῦ μὴ θανατώσειν με καὶ μὴ παραδοῦναί με εἰς χεῖρας τοῦ κυρίου μου καὶ κατάξω σε ἐπὶ τὸ γεδδουρ τοῦτο |
| [16]And when he had brought him downH3381[H8686], behold, they were spread abroadH5203[H8803] upon allH6440 the earthH776, eatingH398[H8802] and drinkingH8354[H8802], and dancingH2287[H8802], because of all the greatH1419 spoilH7998 that they had takenH3947[H8804] out of the landH776 of the PhilistinesH6430, and out of the landH776 of JudahH3063. |
[16]καὶ κατήγαγεν αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἰδοὺ οὗτοι διακεχυμένοι ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς ἐσθίοντες καὶ πίνοντες καὶ ἑορτάζοντες ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς σκύλοις τοῖς μεγάλοις οἷς ἔλαβον ἐκ γῆς ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐκ γῆς ιουδα |
| [17]And DavidH1732 smoteH5221[H8686] them from the twilightH5399 even unto the eveningH6153 of the next dayH4283: and there escapedH4422[H8738] not a manH376 of them, save fourH702 hundredH3967 youngH5288 menH376, which rodeH7392[H8804] upon camelsH1581, and fledH5127.[H8799] |
[17]καὶ ἦλθεν ἐπ αὐτοὺς δαυιδ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ ἑωσφόρου ἕως δείλης καὶ τῇ ἐπαύριον καὶ οὐκ ἐσώθη ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀνὴρ ὅτι ἀλλ ἢ τετρακόσια παιδάρια ἃ ἦν ἐπιβεβηκότα ἐπὶ τὰς καμήλους καὶ ἔφυγον |
| [18]And DavidH1732 recoveredH5337[H8686] all that the AmalekitesH6002 had carried awayH3947[H8804]: and DavidH1732 rescuedH5337[H8689] his twoH8147 wivesH802. |
[18]καὶ ἀφείλατο δαυιδ πάντα ἃ ἔλαβον οἱ αμαληκῖται καὶ ἀμφοτέρας τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτοῦ ἐξείλατο |
| [19]And there was nothing lackingH5737[H8738] to them, neitherH4480 smallH6996 nor greatH1419, neither sonsH1121 nor daughtersH1323, neither spoilH7998, nor any thing that they had takenH3947[H8804] to them: DavidH1732 recoveredH7725 allH8689. |
[19]καὶ οὐ διεφώνησεν αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν σκύλων καὶ ἕως υἱῶν καὶ θυγατέρων καὶ ἕως πάντων ὧν ἔλαβον αὐτῶν τὰ πάντα ἐπέστρεψεν δαυιδ |
| [20]And DavidH1732 tookH3947[H8799] all the flocksH6629 and the herdsH1241, which they draveH5090[H8804] beforeH6440 thoseH1931 other cattleH4735, and saidH559[H8799], This is David'sH1732 spoilH7998. |
[20]καὶ ἔλαβεν δαυιδ πάντα τὰ ποίμνια καὶ τὰ βουκόλια καὶ ἀπήγαγεν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν σκύλων καὶ τοῖς σκύλοις ἐκείνοις ἐλέγετο ταῦτα τὰ σκῦλα δαυιδ |
| [21]And DavidH1732 cameH935[H8799] to the two hundredH3967 menH582, which were so faintH6296[H8765] that they could not followH3212[H8800][H310] DavidH1732, whom they had made also to abideH3427[H8686] at the brookH5158 BesorH1308: and they went forthH3318[H8799] to meetH7125[H8800] DavidH1732, and to meetH7125[H8800] the peopleH5971 that were with him: and when DavidH1732 came nearH5066[H8799] to the peopleH5971, he salutedH7592[H8799] themH7965. |
[21]καὶ παραγίνεται δαυιδ πρὸς τοὺς διακοσίους ἄνδρας τοὺς ἐκλυθέντας τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ὀπίσω δαυιδ καὶ ἐκάθισεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ χειμάρρῳ τῷ βοσορ καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς ἀπάντησιν δαυιδ καὶ εἰς ἀπάντησιν τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ μετ αὐτοῦ καὶ προσήγαγεν δαυιδ ἕως τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἠρώτησαν αὐτὸν τὰ εἰς εἰρήνην |
| [22]Then answeredH6030[H8799] all the wickedH7451 menH376 and men of BelialH1100, of thoseH582 that wentH1980[H8804] with DavidH1732, and saidH559[H8799], Because they wentH1980[H8804] not with us, we will not giveH5414[H8799] them ought of the spoilH7998 that we have recoveredH5337[H8689], save to every manH376 his wifeH802 and his childrenH1121, that they may lead them awayH5090[H8799], and departH3212.[H8799] |
[22]καὶ ἀπεκρίθη πᾶς ἀνὴρ λοιμὸς καὶ πονηρὸς τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν πολεμιστῶν τῶν πορευθέντων μετὰ δαυιδ καὶ εἶπαν ὅτι οὐ κατεδίωξαν μεθ ἡμῶν οὐ δώσομεν αὐτοῖς ἐκ τῶν σκύλων ὧν ἐξειλάμεθα ὅτι ἀλλ ἢ ἕκαστος τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτοῦ ἀπαγέσθωσαν καὶ ἀποστρεφέτωσαν |
| [23]Then saidH559[H8799] DavidH1732, Ye shall not do soH6213[H8799], my brethrenH251, with that which the LORDH3068 hath givenH5414[H8804] us, who hath preservedH8104[H8799] us, and deliveredH5414[H8799] the companyH1416 that cameH935[H8802] against us into our handH3027. |
[23]καὶ εἶπεν δαυιδ οὐ ποιήσετε οὕτως μετὰ τὸ παραδοῦναι τὸν κύριον ἡμῖν καὶ φυλάξαι ἡμᾶς καὶ παρέδωκεν κύριος τὸν γεδδουρ τὸν ἐπερχόμενον ἐφ ἡμᾶς εἰς χεῖρας ἡμῶν |
| [24]For who will hearkenH8085[H8799] unto you in this matterH1697? but as his partH2506 is that goeth downH3381[H8802][H8675][H3381][H8717] to the battleH4421, so shall his partH2506 be that tarriethH3427[H8802] by the stuffH3627: they shall partH2505[H8799] alikeH3162. |
[24]καὶ τίς ὑπακούσεται ὑμῶν τῶν λόγων τούτων ὅτι οὐχ ἧττον ὑμῶν εἰσιν διότι κατὰ τὴν μερίδα τοῦ καταβαίνοντος εἰς πόλεμον οὕτως ἔσται ἡ μερὶς τοῦ καθημένου ἐπὶ τὰ σκεύη κατὰ τὸ αὐτὸ μεριοῦνται |
| [25]And it was so from that dayH3117 forwardH4605, that he madeH7760[H8799] it a statuteH2706 and an ordinanceH4941 for IsraelH3478 unto this dayH3117. |
[25]καὶ ἐγενήθη ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης καὶ ἐπάνω καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς πρόσταγμα καὶ εἰς δικαίωμα τῷ ισραηλ ἕως τῆς σήμερον |
| [26]And when DavidH1732 cameH935[H8799] to ZiklagH6860, he sentH7971[H8762] of the spoilH7998 unto the eldersH2205 of JudahH3063, even to his friendsH7453, sayingH559[H8800], Behold a presentH1293 for you of the spoilH7998 of the enemiesH341[H8802] of the LORDH3068; |
[26]καὶ ἦλθεν δαυιδ εἰς σεκελακ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις ιουδα τῶν σκύλων καὶ τοῖς πλησίον αὐτοῦ λέγων ἰδοὺ ἀπὸ τῶν σκύλων τῶν ἐχθρῶν κυρίου |
| [27]To themH834 which were in BethelH1008, and to them which were in southH5045 RamothH7418, and to them which were in JattirH3492, |
[27]τοῖς ἐν βαιθσουρ καὶ τοῖς ἐν ραμα νότου καὶ τοῖς ἐν ιεθθορ |
| [28]And to them which were in AroerH6177, and to them which were in SiphmothH8224, and to them which were in EshtemoaH851, |
