[1]An elder not rebuke but petition him as a father and to those who are young as your brothers |
[1]Rebuke not an elder, but exhort him as a father, the younger men as brethren |
[2]And elder women as mothers and those who are younger as your sisters in all purity |
[2]The elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, in all chastitie |
[3]Widows you honor those who widows are indeed |
[3]Honour wydowes, whiche are wydowes in deede |
[4]And if there is a widow who has to her children or children of children let them learn first that with children of their households they should be assigned and they should pay compensation to their parents this for is acceptable before Alaha |
[4]But yf any wydowe haue chyldren or nephewes, let them learne first to rule their owne houses godly, and to recompence also their elder kynsefolkes: for that is good and acceptable before God |
[5]She but who truly a widow is and alone this one her hope upon Alaha is and continues in prayer and in supplication by night and by day |
[5]And she that is a wydowe in deede, and left alone, hopeth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers nyght and day |
[6]She but who worships the Arena dead is while she lives |
[6]But she that liueth in pleasure, is dead beyng alyue |
[7]These things you shall command them that without fault they may be |
[7]And these thynges commaunde, that they may be blamelesse |
[8]If a man for of those that his are and especially those who are children of the household of faith not takes care of this one has renounced to himself the faith and worse is than those who not are believers |
[8]But if any prouide not for his owne, and specially for them of his housholde, he hath denyed the fayth, and is worse then an infidell |
[9]You shall therefore choose a widow who is not less than sixty years who one the same husband had |
[9]Let not a wydowe be chosen vnder three score yeres olde, hauyng ben the wyfe of one man |
[10]And is to her a testimony of works good if she has raised children if she has received strangers if she has washed the feet of the saints if she has relieved the afflicted if she has walked in every work good |
[10]And well reported of in good workes, yf she haue brought vp chyldren, yf she haue lodged straungers, yf she haue wasshed the saintes feete, yf she haue ministred vnto them that were in aduersitie, yf she haue ben continually geuen to euery good worke |
[11]From widows but those who are younger avoid separate these for from The Messiah and seek to have a husband |
[11]But the yonger wydowes refuse: For whe they haue begun to waxe wanton agaynst Christe, they wyll marrie |
[12]And their judgment set is for they have rejected their faith former |
[12]Hauyng dampnation, because they haue cast away their first fayth |
[13]They learn but also laziness while going around house to house and not only laziness but also to increase talking and to take up vanities and to talk whatever not is appropriate |
[13]They learne to wander about from house to house idle: yea not idle only, but also tatlers and busybodies, speakyng thynges which are not comely |
[14]Willing I am therefore that those younger ones may marry and bear children and lead their homes and not give to enemies not even one occasion of abuse |
[14]I wyll therefore that the yonger women do marrie, to beare chyldren, to guyde the house, to geue none occasion to ye aduersarie to speake slaunderously |
[15]Until now for they have begun one [by] one to turn after Satan |
[15]For certaine of them are alredy turned backe after Satan |
[16]If man believers or female believers have to them widows let them support them and not let them burden on the church that for those who widows are truly it may have enough |
[16]Yf any man or woman that beleueth haue wydowes, let them susteine them, & let not the Churches be charged, that there maye be sufficient for them that are wydowes in deede |
[17]Elders those that well are leading honor double deserve especially those who toil in the word and in teaching |
[17]The elders that rule well are worthy of double honour, most speciallye they which labour in the worde & teachyng |
[18]Say for the scriptures "not muzzle the ox while treading and deserves the laborer his wages |
[18]For the scripture sayth: Thou shalt not moosel the oxe that treadeth out the corne: And, the labourer is worthy of his rewarde |
[19]Against an elder an accusation not accept but upon the mouth of two or three witnesses |
[19]Agaynst an elder receaue none accusation, but vnder two or three witnesses |
[20]Those who sin before every person rebuke that also the rest of the people may fear |
[20]Them that sinne, rebuke before all, that other also may feare |
[21]Testify I to you before Alaha and our Lord Ieshu The Messiah and His angels the chosen that these things you will observe and not let be prejudiced your mind for anything and not do anything by accepting of persons |
[21]I testifie before God, and the Lorde Iesus Christe, and the elect angels, that thou obserue these thinges without hastynesse of iudgement, and do nothyng after parcialitie |
[22]Hands quickly on a man not lay and not share in the sins of strangers yourself keep in purity |
[22]Lay handes sodenly on no man, neither be partaker of other mens sinnes. Kepe thy selfe chaste |
[23]And from now on water not drink but wine a little do drink because of your stomach and because of your illness chronic |
[23]Drinke no longer water, but vse a litle wine for thy stomackes sake & thine often diseases |
[24]There are children of men whose sins known are and they precede them to the house of judgment and are which after them go |
[24]Some mens sinnes are open beforehande, hastyng before vnto iudgement, and in some they folowe after |
[25]In this way also works good known are and those that otherwise are be concealed not they can |
[25]Lykewise also, good workes are manifest before hande, and they that are otherwyse can not be hyd |
