[1]And after these things and this faithful dealing, came Sennacherim king of the Assyrians, and he came to Juda, and encamped against the fortified cities, and intended to take them for himself. |
| [2]καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ὅτιC ἥκωV1-PAI3S *σενναχηριμN--NSM καίC ὁRA-ASN πρόσωπονN2N-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM ὁRA-GSN πολεμέωVA-AAN ἐπίP *ἰερουσαλήμN--ASF |
[2]And Ezekias saw that Sennacherim was come, and that his face was set to fight against Jerusalem. |
| [3]καίC βουλεύωVAI-AMI3S μετάP ὁRA-GPM πρεσβύτεροςN2-GPM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁRA-GPM δυνατόςA1-GPM ἐνφράσσωVA-AAN ὁRA-APN ὕδωρN3T-APN ὁRA-GPF πηγήN1-GPF ὅςRR-APN εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἔξωD ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC συν ἐπιἰσχύωVA-AAPASN αὐτόςRD-DSM |
[3]And he took counsel with his elders and his mighty men to stop the wells of water which were without the city: and they helped him. |
| [4]καίC συνἄγωVBI-AAI3S λαόςN2-ASM πολύςA1P-ASM καίC ἐνφράσσωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APN ὕδωρN3T-APN ὁRA-GPF πηγήN1-GPF καίC ὁRA-ASM ποταμόςN2-ASM ὁRA-ASM διαὁρίζωV1-PAPASM διάP ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF λέγωV1-PAPNSM μήD ἔρχομαιVB-AAS3S βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *ασσουρN--GSM καίC εὑρίσκωVB-AAS3S ὕδωρN3-ASN πολύςA1P-ASN καίC καταἰσχύωVA-AAS3S |
[4]And he collected many people, and stopped the wells of water, and the river that flowed through the city, saying, Lest the king of Assyria come, and find much water, and strengthen himself. |
| [5]καίC καταἰσχύωVAI-AAI3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM καίC οἰκοδομέωVAI-AAI3S πᾶςA3-ASN ὁRA-ASN τεῖχοςN3E-ASN ὁRA-ASN κατασκάπτωVX-XPPASN καίC πύργοςN2-APM καίC ἔξωD προτείχισμαN3M-ASN ἄλλοςRD-ASN καίC καταἰσχύωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN ἀνάλημμαN3M-ASN πόλιςN3I-GSF *δαυίδN--GSM καίC κατασκευάζωVAI-AAI3S ὅπλονN2N-APN πολύςA1-APN |
[5]And Ezekias strengthened himself, and built all the wall that had been pulled down, and the towers, and another wall in front without, and fortified the strong place of the city of David, and prepared arms in abundance. |
| [6]καίC τίθημιVEI-AMI3S ἄρχωνN3-APM ὁRA-GSM πόλεμοςN2-GSM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASM λαόςN2-ASM καίC συνἄγωVQI-API3P πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM εἰςP ὁRA-ASF πλατύςA3U-ASF ὁRA-GSF πύληN1-GSF ὁRA-GSF φάραγξN3G-GSF καίC λαλέωVAI-AAI3S ἐπίP καρδίαN1A-ASF αὐτόςRD-GPM λέγωV1-PAPNSM |
[6]And he appointed captains of war over the people, and they were gathered to meet him to the open place of the gate of the valley, and he encouraged them, saying, |
| [7]ἰσχύωVA-AAD2P καίC ἀνδρίζομαιV1-PMD2P μήD πτοέωVC-APS2P ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN βασιλεύςN3V-GSM *ασσουρN--GSM καίC ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN πᾶςA3-GSN ὁRA-GSN ἔθνοςN3E-GSN ὁRA-GSN μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅτιC μετάP ἐγώRP-GP πολύςA3C-NPM ἤC μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[7]Be strong and courageous, and fear not, neither be dismayed before the King of Assyria, and before all the nation that is with him: for there are more with us than with him. |
| [8]μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM βραχίωνN3N-NPM σάρκινοςA1-NPM μετάP ἐγώRP-GP δέX κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GP ὁRA-GSN σώζωV1-PAN καίC ὁRA-GSN πολεμέωV2-PAN ὁRA-ASM πόλεμοςN2-ASM ἐγώRP-GP καίC καταθαρσύνωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ἐπίP ὁRA-DPM λόγοςN2-DPM *εζεκιαςN1T-GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM *ἰουδάN--GSM |
[8]With him are arms of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to save us, and to fight our battle. And the people were encouraged at the words of Ezekias king of Juda. |

[9]And afterward Sennacherim king of the Assyrians sent his servants to Jerusalem; and he went himself against Lachis, and all his army with him, and sent to Ezekias king of Juda, and to all Juda that was in Jerusalem, saying, |

[10]Thus says Sennacherim king of the Assyrians, On what do ye trust, that ye will remain in the siege in Jerusalem? |
| [11]οὐD *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ἀπατάωV3-PAI3S σύRP-AP ὁRA-GSN παραδίδωμιVO-AAN σύRP-AP εἰςP θάνατοςN2-ASM καίC εἰςP λιμόςN2-ASM καίC εἰςP δίψαN1S-ASF λέγωV1-PAPNSM κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GP σώζωVF-FAI3S ἐγώRP-AP ἐκP χείρN3-GSF βασιλεύςN3V-GSM *ασσουρN--GSM |
[11]Does not Ezekias deceive you, to deliver you to death and famine and thirst, saying, The Lord our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria? |
| [12]οὐD οὗτοςRD-NSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ὅςRR-NSM περιαἱρέωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-APN θυσιαστήριονN2N-APN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁRA-APN ὑψηλόςA1-APN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM *ἰουδάN--DSM καίC ὁRA-DPM καταοἰκέωV2-PAI3P *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF λέγωV1-PAPNSM κατέναντιD ὁRA-GSN θυσιαστήριονN2N-GSN οὗτοςRD-GSN προςκυνέωVF-FAI2P καίC ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-DSN θυμιάωVF-FAI2P |
[12]Is not this Ezekias who has taken down his altars and his high places and has spoken to Juda and the dwellers in Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before this altar and burn incense upon it? |
| [13]οὐD γιγνώσκωVF-FMI2P ὅςRR-ASN τιςRI-ASN ποιέωVAI-AAI1S ἐγώRP-NS καίC ὁRA-NPM πατήρN3-NPM ἐγώRP-GS πᾶςA3-DPM ὁRA-DPM λαόςN2-DPM ὁRA-GPF χώραN1A-GPF μήD δύναμαιV6-PMPNPM δύναμαιV6I-IMI3P θεόςN2-NPM ὁRA-GPN ἔθνοςN3E-GPN πᾶςA3-GSF ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF σώζωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM λαόςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GPM ἐκP χείρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS |
[13]Know ye not what I and my fathers have done to all the nations of the countries? Could the gods of the nations of all the earth at all rescue their people out of my hand? |
| [14]τίςRI-NSM ἐνP πᾶςA3-DPM ὁRA-DPM θεόςN2-DPM ὁRA-GPN ἔθνοςN3E-GPN οὗτοςRD-GPN ὅςRR-APM ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM πατήρN3-NPM ἐγώRP-GS μήD δύναμαιV6I-IMI3P σώζωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM λαόςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GPM ἐκP χείρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS ὅτιC δύναμαιVF-FMI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM σύRP-GP σώζωVA-AAN σύRP-AP ἐκP χείρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS |
[14]Who is there among all the gods of those nations whom my fathers utterly destroyed, worthy of trust? Could they deliver their people out of my hand, that your God should deliver you out of my hand? |
| [15]νῦνD μήD ἀπατάωV3-PAD3S σύRP-AP *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM καίC μήD πείθωVX-XAN σύRP-AP ποιέωV2-PAD3S κατάP οὗτοςRD-APN καίC μήD πιστεύωV1-PAI2P αὐτόςRD-DSM ὅτιC οὐD μήD δύναμαιV6-PMS3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM πᾶςA3-GSN ἔθνοςN3E-GSN καίC βασιλείαN1A-GSF ὁRA-GSN σώζωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM λαόςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκP χείρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἐκP χείρN3-GSF πατήρN3-GPM ἐγώRP-GS ὅτιC ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM σύRP-GP οὐD μήD σώζωVF-FAI3S σύRP-AP ἐκP χείρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS |
[15]Now then, let not Ezekias deceive you, and let him not make you thus confident, and believe him not: for no god of any kingdom or nation is at all able to deliver his people out of my hand, or the hand of my fathers: therefore your God shall not deliver you out of my hand. |
| [16]καίC ἔτιD λαλέωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM παῖςN3D-NPM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐπίP κύριοςN2-ASM θεόςN2-ASM καίC ἐπίP *εζεκιαςN1T-ASM παῖςN3D-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[16]And his servants continued to speak against the Lord God, and against his servant Ezekias. |
| [17]καίC βιβλίονN2N-ASN γράφωVAI-AAI3S ὀνειδίζωV1-PAN ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM θεόςN2-ASM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S περίP αὐτόςRD-GSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ὡςX θεόςN2-NPM ὁRA-GPN ἔθνοςN3E-GPN ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF οὐD ἐκαἱρέωVAI-AMI3P ὁRA-APM λαόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM ἐκP χείρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS οὕτωςD οὐD μήD ἐκαἱρέωVB-AMS3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM *εζεκιαςN1T-GSM λαόςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκP χείρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS |
[17]And he wrote a letter to reproach the Lord God of Israel, and spoke concerning him, saying, As the gods of the nations of the earth have not delivered their people out of my hand, so the God of Ezekias shall by no means deliver his people out of my hand. |
| [18]καίC βοάωVAI-AAI3S φωνήN1-DSF μέγαςA1-DSF *ἰουδαϊστίN--DSF ἐπίP λαόςN2-ASM *ἰερουσαλήμN--GSF ὁRA-ASM ἐπίP ὁRA-GSN τεῖχοςN3E-GSN ὁRA-GSN φοβέωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-APM καίC κατασπάωVA-AAN ὅπωςC προ καταλαμβάνωVB-AMS3P ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF |
[18]And he cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language to the people of Jerusalem on the wall, calling them to assist them, and pull down the walls, that they might take the city. |
| [19]καίC λαλέωVAI-AAI3S ἐπίP θεόςN2-ASM *ἰερουσαλήμN--GSM ὡςD καίC ἐπίP θεόςN2-APM λαόςN2-GPM ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF ἔργονN2N-APN χείρN3-GPF ἄνθρωποςN2-GPM |
[19]And he spoke against the God of Jerusalem, even as against the gods of the nations of the earth, the works of the hands of men. |
| [20]καίC προςεὔχομαιVAI-AMI3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM καίC *ησαιαςN1T-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *αμωςN--GSM ὁRA-NSM προφήτηςN1M-NSM περίP οὗτοςRD-GPN καίC βοάωVAI-AAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASM οὐρανόςN2-ASM |
[20]And king Ezekias and Esaias the prophet the son of Amos prayed concerning these things, and they cried to heaven. |
| [21]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἄγγελοςN2-ASM καίC ἐκτρίβωVAI-AAI3S πᾶςA3-ASN δυνατόςA1-ASN πολεμιστήςN1-ASM καίC ἄρχωνN3-ASM καίC στρατηγόςN2-ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF παρεμβολήN1-DSF βασιλεύςN3V-GSM *ασσουρN--GSM καίC ἀποστρέφωVAI-AAI3S μετάP αἰσχύνηN1-GSF πρόσωπονN2N-GSN εἰςP ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S εἰςP οἶκοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁRA-GPM ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAPGPM ἐκP κοιλίαN1A-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καταβάλλωVBI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-ASM ἐνP ῥομφαίαN1A-DSF |
[21]And the Lord sent an angel, and he destroyed every mighty man and warrior, and leader and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria: and he returned with shame of face to his own land and came into the house of his god: and some of them that came out of his bowels slew him with the sword. |
| [22]καίC σώζωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM *εζεκιαςN1T-ASM καίC ὁRA-APM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPAPM ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF ἐκP χείρN3-GSF *σενναχηριμN--GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM *ασσουρN--GSM καίC ἐκP χείρN3-GSF πᾶςA3-GPM καίC καταπαύωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM κυκλόθενD |
[22]So the Lord delivered Ezekias and the dwellers in Jerusalem out of the hand of Sennacherim King of Assyria, and out of the hand of all his enemies, and gave them rest round about. |
| [23]καίC πολύςA1-NPM φέρωV1I-IAI3P δῶρονN2N-APN ὁRA-DSM κύριοςN2-DSM εἰςP *ἰερουσαλήμN--ASF καίC δόμαN3M-APN ὁRA-DSM *εζεκιαςN1T-DSM βασιλεύςN3V-DSM *ἰουδάN--GSM καίC ὑπεραἴρωVCI-API3S κατάP ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM πᾶςA3-GPN ὁRA-GPN ἔθνοςN3E-GPN μετάP οὗτοςRD-APN |
[23]And many brought gifts to the Lord to Jerusalem, and presents to Ezekias king of Juda; and he was exalted in the eyes of all the nations after these things. |
| [24]ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ἡμέραN1A-DPF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DPF ἀρρωστέωVAI-AAI3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ἕωςC θάνατοςN2-GSM καίC προςεὔχομαιVAI-AMI3S πρόςP κύριοςN2-ASM καίC ἐπιἀκούωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC σημεῖονN2-ASN δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM |
[24]In those days Ezekias was sick even to death, and prayed to the Lord: and he hearkened to him, and gave him a sign. |
| [25]καίC οὐD κατάP ὁRA-ASN ἀνταπόδομαN3M-ASN ὅςRR-NSM δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ἀντι ἀποδίδωμιVAI-AAI3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ἀλλάC ὑψόωVCI-API3S ὁRA-NSF καρδίαN1A-NSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-ASM ὀργήN1-NSF καίC ἐπίP *ἰούδαςN1T-ASM καίC *ἰερουσαλήμN--ASM |
[25]But Ezekias did not recompense the Lord according to the return which he made him, but his heart was lifted up: and wrath came upon him, and upon Juda and Jerusalem. |
| [26]καίC ταπεινόωVCI-API3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM ὕψοςN3E-GSM ὁRA-GSF καρδίαN1A-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁRA-NPM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPNPM *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF καίC οὐD ἐπιἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM ὀργήN1-NSF κύριοςN2-GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ἡμέραN1A-DPF *εζεκιαςN1T-GSM |
[26]And Ezekias humbled himself after the exaltation of his heart, he and the dwellers in Jerusalem; and the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Ezekias. |
| [27]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-DSM *εζεκιαςN1T-DSM πλοῦτοςN2-NSM καίC δόξαN1S-NSF πολύςA1-NSF σφόδραD καίC θησαυρόςN2-APM ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ἑαυτοῦRD-DSM ἀργύριονN2N-GSN καίC χρυσίονN2N-GSN καίC ὁRA-GSM λίθοςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSM τίμιοςA1A-GSM καίC εἰςP ὁRA-APN ἄρωμαN3M-APM καίC ὁπλοθήκηN1-APF καίC εἰςP σκεῦοςN3E-APN ἐπιθυμητόςA1-APN |
[27]And Ezekias had wealth and very great glory: and he made for himself treasuries of gold, and silver, and precious stones, also for spices, and stores for arms, and for precious vessels; |
| [28]καίC πόλιςN3I-APF εἰςP ὁRA-APN γένημαN3M-APN σῖτοςN2-GSM καίC ἔλαιονN2N-GSN καίC οἶνοςN2-GSM καίC φάτνηN1-APF πᾶςA3-GSN κτῆνοςN3E-GSN καίC μάνδραA1A-APF εἰςP ὁRA-APN ποίμνιονN2N-APN |
[28]and cities for the produce of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls and mangers for every kind of cattle, and folds for flocks; |
| [29]καίC πόλιςN3I-APF ὅςRR-APF οἰκοδομέωVAI-AAI3S ἑαυτοῦRD-DSM καίC ἀποσκευήN1-ASF πρόβατονN2N-GPN καίC βοῦςN3-GPM εἰςP πλῆθοςN3E-ASN ὅτιC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM κύριοςN2-NSM ἀποσκευήN1-ASF πολύςA1-ASF σφόδραD |
[29]and cities which he built for himself, and store of sheep and oxen in abundance, for the Lord gave him a very great store. |
| [30]αὐτόςRD-NSM *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ἐνφράσσωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASF ἔξοδοςN2-ASF ὁRA-GSN ὕδωρN3T-GSN *γιωνN--GS ὁRA-ASN ἄνωD καίC καταεὐθυν/ωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APN κάτωD πρόςP λίψN3-ASM ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF *δαυίδN--GSM καίC εὐοδόωVC-API3S *εζεκιαςN1T-NSM ἐνP πᾶςA3-DPN ὁRA-DPN ἔργονN2N-DPN αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[30]The same Ezekias stopped up the course of the water of Gion above, and brought the water down straight south of the city of David. And Ezekias prospered in all his works. |
| [31]καίC οὕτωςD ὁRA-DPM πρεσβευτήςN1M-DPM ὁRA-GPM ἄρχωνN3-GPM ἀπόP *βαβυλώνN3W-GSM ὁRA-DPM ἀποστέλλωVC-APPDPM πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM πυνθάνομαιVB-AMN παράP αὐτόςRD-GSM ὁRA-ASN τέραςN3T-ASN ὅςRR-NSM γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC ἐν καταλείπωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSN πειράζωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASM οἶδαV--XAN ὁRA-APN ἐνP ὁRA-DSF καρδίαN1A-DSF αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[31]Notwithstanding, in regard to the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who were sent to him to enquire of him concerning the prodigy which came upon the land, the Lord left him, to try him, to know what was in his heart. |

[33]And Ezekias slept with his fathers, and they buried him in a high place among the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Juda and the dwellers in Jerusalem gave him glory and honour at his death. And Manasses his son reigned in his stead. |
