Peshitta NT (Etheridge, 1849)
PesNT(Eth)
[1]And as helpers we beg of you that not may become worthless in you the grace of Alaha that you received [1]And as helpers, we beseech of you that the grace of Aloha which you have received be not made ineffectual in you.
[2]He said for in a time acceptable I have answered you and in the day of life I have helped you behold now the time is acceptable and behold now the day of life [2]For he hath said, In the time acceptable I have heard thee, and in the day of salvation I have helped thee. Behold, Now is the time acceptable; behold, Now is the day of salvation.
[3]Why? in anything should you give a person occasion of stumbling lest it will be a defect in our ministry [3]Nor in any thing give to any man occasion of stumbling, that no blemish may be upon our ministry;
[4]But in every thing we may show ourselves that ministers we are of Alaha by patience much by sufferings by distresses by imprisonments [4]But in every thing will we demonstrate ourselves that we are the ministers of Aloha; by much patience, by afflictions,
[5]In scourgings in chains in seditions in toil in vigils in fasts [5]By necessity, by imprisonments, by stripes, by chains, by tumults, by labour, by watching, by fasting,
[6]By purity by knowledge by duration of spirit by kindness by The Spirit of Holiness by love without deceit [6]By purity, by knowledge, by prolonging the mind, by benignity, by the Spirit of Holiness, by love without deceit,
[7]By the message of the truth by the power of Alaha by the armor of righteousness that is on the right and on the left [7]By the doctrine of truth, by the power of Aloha, by the arms of righteousness for the right hand and for the left,
[8]By glory and by disgrace by praise and by reproach as if deceivers and true [8]By glory and by shame, by praise and by abuse; as deceivers, and true;
[9]As if not known and we are known as if we are dying and behold we live we are as if we are punished and not we are dying [9]As unknown, and yet we are known; as dead, yet, lo, we live; as chastened, yet we die not;
[10]As if are sorrowing we and always we rejoice as if poor and the many we make rich as if anything there is not us and every thing we possess [10]As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet many making rich; as having nothing, yet possessing every thing.
[11]Our mouth opened is to you Corinthians and our heart is enlarged [11]OUR mouth is opened to you, Kurinthoyee, and our heart expanded.
[12]Not you are restricted by us you are restricted but in your affections [12]You are not constrained in us, but you are constrained in your own bowels.
[13]As to children but say I pay me my remuneration that is with you and enlarge your love to me [13]But as unto [my] children, I say to you, Render to me my gains which are with you, and expand your love towards me.
[14]And not you shall be children of the yoke to those who not are believers what? for partnership has righteousness with evil or what? intimacy has light with darkness [14]And be not sons of the yoke with them who believe not. For what participation hath righteousness with iniquity? Or what commixture hath the light with darkness?
[15]Or what? harmony has The Messiah with Satan or what? lot has one who believes with him who not believes [15]Or what concord hath the Meshiha with Satana? Or what portion hath the believer with the unbeliever?
[16]What? but agreement has to the temple of Alaha with demons you but the temple you are of Alaha The Living just as it is said "I shall dwell in them and I shall walk in them and I shall be their Alaha and those shall be to Me a people [16]Or what union hath the temple of Aloha with [that] of demons? For you are the temple of Aloha the living; as it is written, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be to me a people.
[17]Because of this come out from among them and be separated from them says the Lord and the impure thing not you shall touch and I shall receive you [17]Wherefore come out from among them, and be separate from them, (saith the Lord,) and the impure touch not; and I will receive you,
[18]And I shall be to you a Father and you will be to Me sons and daughters says the Lord Who all holds [18]And I will be to you a Father, and you shall be to me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord, who holdeth all.
