[1]In the twentyH6242[H8141] and seventhH7651 yearH8141 of JeroboamH3379 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 began AzariahH5838 sonH1121 of AmaziahH558 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 to reignH4427.[H8804] [1]In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.
[2]SixteenH8337[H6240] yearsH8141 oldH1121 was he when he began to reignH4427[H8800], and he reignedH4427[H8804] twoH8147 and fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And his mother'sH517 nameH8034 was JecholiahH3203 of JerusalemH3389. [2]Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
[3]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was rightH3477 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, according to all that his fatherH1 AmaziahH558 H6213had doneH8804 [3]And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;
[4]Save that the high placesH1116 were not removedH5493[H8804]: the peopleH5971 sacrificedH2076[H8764] and burnt incenseH6999[H8764] still on the high placesH1116. [4]Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.
[5]And the LORDH3068 smoteH5060[H8762] the kingH4428, so that he was a leperH6879[H8794] unto the dayH3117 of his deathH4194, and dweltH3427[H8799] in a severalH2669 houseH1004. And JothamH3147 the king'sH4428 sonH1121 was over the houseH1004, judgingH8199[H8802] the peopleH5971 of the landH776. [5]And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.
[6]And the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of AzariahH5838, and all that he didH6213[H8804], are they not writtenH3789[H8803] in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697[H3117] of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? [6]And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
[7]So AzariahH5838 sleptH7901[H8799] with his fathersH1; and they buriedH6912[H8799] him with his fathersH1 in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732: and JothamH3147 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8799. [7]So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
[8]In the thirtyH7970[H8141] and eighthH8083 yearH8141 of AzariahH5838 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 did ZachariahH2148 the sonH1121 of JeroboamH3379 reignH4427[H8804] over IsraelH3478 in SamariaH8111 sixH8337 monthsH2320. [8]In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.
[9]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, as his fathersH1 had doneH6213[H8804]: he departedH5493[H8804] not from the sinsH2403 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, who made IsraelH3478 to sinH2398.[H8689] [9]And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
[10]And ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of JabeshH3003 conspiredH7194[H8799] against him, and smoteH5221[H8686] him beforeH6905 the peopleH5971, and slewH4191[H8686] him, and reignedH4427 in his steadH8799. [10]And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
[11]And the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of ZachariahH2148, behold, they are writtenH3789[H8803] in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697[H3117] of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478. [11]And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
[12]This was the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 which he spakeH1696[H8765] unto JehuH3058, sayingH559[H8800], Thy sonsH1121 shall sitH3427[H8799] on the throneH3678 of IsraelH3478 unto the fourth generation. And so it came to passH7243. [12]This was the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.
[13]ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of JabeshH3003 began to reignH4427[H8804] in the nineH8672 and thirtiethH7970 yearH8141 of UzziahH5818 kingH4428 of JudahH3063; and he reignedH4427[H8799] a fullH3117 monthH3391 in SamariaH8111. [13]Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.
[14]For MenahemH4505 the sonH1121 of GadiH1424 went upH5927[H8799] from TirzahH8656, and cameH935[H8799] to SamariaH8111, and smoteH5221[H8686] ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of JabeshH3003 in SamariaH8111, and slewH4191[H8686] him, and reignedH4427 in his steadH8799. [14]For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
[15]And the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of ShallumH7967, and his conspiracyH7195 which he madeH7194[H8804], behold, they are writtenH3789[H8803] in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697[H3117] of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478. [15]And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
[16]Then MenahemH4505 smoteH5221[H8686] TiphsahH8607, and all that were therein, and the coastsH1366 thereof from TirzahH8656: because they openedH6605[H8804] not to him, therefore he smoteH5221[H8686] it; and all the women therein that were with childH2030 he ripped upH1234.[H8765] [16]Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were in it, and the borders of it from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women in it that were with child he ripped up.
[17]In the nineH8672[H8141] and thirtiethH7970 yearH8141 of AzariahH5838 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 began MenahemH4505 the sonH1121 of GadiH1424 to reignH4427[H8804] over IsraelH3478, and reigned tenH6235 yearsH8141 in SamariaH8111. [17]In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.
[18]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068: he departedH5493[H8804] not all his daysH3117 from the sinsH2403 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, who made IsraelH3478 to sinH2398.[H8689] [18]And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
[19]And PulH6322 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 cameH935[H8804] against the landH776: and MenahemH4505 gaveH5414[H8799] PulH6322 a thousandH505 talentsH3603 of silverH3701, that his handH3027 might be with him to confirmH2388[H8687] the kingdomH4467 in his handH3027. [19]And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
[20]And MenahemH4505 exactedH3318[H8686] the moneyH3701 of IsraelH3478, even of all the mighty menH1368 of wealthH2428, of eachH259 manH376 fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701, to giveH5414[H8800] to the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804. So the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 turned backH7725[H8799], and stayedH5975[H8804] not there in the landH776. [20]And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
[21]And the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of MenahemH4505, and all that he didH6213[H8804], are they not writtenH3789[H8803] in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697[H3117] of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478? [21]And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
[22]And MenahemH4505 sleptH7901[H8799] with his fathersH1; and PekahiahH6494 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8799. [22]And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
[23]In the fiftiethH2572[H8141] yearH8141 of AzariahH5838 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 PekahiahH6494 the sonH1121 of MenahemH4505 began to reignH4427[H8804] over IsraelH3478 in SamariaH8111, and reigned two yearsH8141. [23]In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.
[24]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068: he departedH5493[H8804] not from the sinsH2403 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, who made IsraelH3478 to sinH2398.[H8689] [24]And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
[25]But PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, a captainH7991 of his, conspiredH7194[H8799] against him, and smoteH5221[H8686] him in SamariaH8111, in the palaceH759 of the king'sH4428 houseH1004, with ArgobH709 and AriehH745, and with him fiftyH2572 menH376 of the GileaditesH1121[H1569]: and he killedH4191[H8686] him, and reignedH4427 in his roomH8799. [25]But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.
[26]And the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of PekahiahH6494, and all that he didH6213[H8804], behold, they are writtenH3789[H8803] in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697[H3117] of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478. [26]And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
[27]In the twoH8147[H8141] and fiftiethH2572 yearH8141 of AzariahH5838 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425 began to reignH4427[H8804] over IsraelH3478 in SamariaH8111, and reigned twentyH6242 yearsH8141. [27]In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.
[28]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068: he departedH5493[H8804] not from the sinsH2403 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, who made IsraelH3478 to sinH2398.[H8689] [28]And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
[29]In the daysH3117 of PekahH6492 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 cameH935[H8804] TiglathpileserH8407 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, and tookH3947[H8799] IjonH5859, and AbelbethmaachahH62, and JanoahH3239, and KedeshH6943, and HazorH2674, and GileadH1568, and GalileeH1551, all the landH776 of NaphtaliH5321, and carried them captiveH1540[H8686] to AssyriaH804. [29]In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.
[30]And HosheaH1954 the sonH1121 of ElahH425 madeH7194[H8799] a conspiracyH7195 against PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, and smoteH5221[H8686] him, and slewH4191[H8686] him, and reignedH4427[H8799] in his stead, in the twentiethH6242 yearH8141 of JothamH3147 the sonH1121 of UzziahH5818. [30]And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

[31]And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
[32]In the secondH8147 yearH8141 of PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 began JothamH3147 the sonH1121 of UzziahH5818 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 to reignH4427.[H8804] [32]In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel, began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.
[33]FiveH2568 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141 oldH1121 was he when he began to reignH4427[H8800], and he reignedH4427[H8804] sixteenH8337[H6240] yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And his mother'sH517 nameH8034 was JerushaH3388, the daughterH1323 of ZadokH6659. [33]Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
[34]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was rightH3477 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068: he didH6213[H8804] according to all that his fatherH1 UzziahH5818 had doneH6213.[H8804] [34]And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
[35]Howbeit the high placesH1116 were not removedH5493[H8804]: the peopleH5971 sacrificedH2076[H8764] and burned incenseH6999[H8764] still in the high placesH1116. He builtH1129[H8804] the higherH5945 gateH8179 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. [35]Yet, the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.
[36]Now the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of JothamH3147, and all that he didH6213[H8804], are they not writtenH3789[H8803] in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697[H3117] of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? [36]Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
[37]In those daysH3117 the LORDH3068 beganH2490[H8689] to sendH7971[H8687] against JudahH3063 RezinH7526 the kingH4428 of SyriaH758, and PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425. [37]In those days the LORD began to send against Judah, Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
[38]And JothamH3147 sleptH7901[H8799] with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912[H8735] with his fathersH1 in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 his fatherH1: and AhazH271 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8799.
