[1]In his days came Neb-u-chad-nezzar king of Babylon up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three year: afterward he turned, and rebelled against him. [1]In his daysH3117 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 came upH5927[H8804], and JehoiakimH3079 became his servantH5650 threeH7969 yearsH8141: then he turnedH7725[H8799] and rebelledH4775 against himH8799.
[2]And the Lord sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, and bands of the Aramites [Syrians], and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the Ammonites, and he sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by his servants the prophets. [2]And the LORDH3068 sentH7971[H8762] against him bandsH1416 of the ChaldeesH3778, and bandsH1416 of the SyriansH758, and bandsH1416 of the MoabitesH4124, and bandsH1416 of the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983, and sentH7971[H8762] them against JudahH3063 to destroyH6[H8687] it, according to the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, which he spakeH1696[H8765] byH3027 his servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030.
[3]Surely by the commandment of the Lord came this upon Judah, that he might put them out of his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did, [3]Surely at the commandmentH6310 of the LORDH3068 came this upon JudahH3063, to removeH5493[H8687] them out of his sightH6440, for the sinsH2403 of ManassehH4519, H6213according to all that he didH8804
[4]And for the innocent blood that he shed, (for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood) therefore the Lord would not pardon it. [4]And also for the innocentH5355 bloodH1818 that he shedH8210[H8804]: for he filledH4390[H8762] JerusalemH3389 with innocentH5355 bloodH1818; which the LORDH3068 wouldH14[H8804] not pardonH5545.[H8800]
[5]Concerning the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? [5]Now the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of JehoiakimH3079, and all that he didH6213[H8804], are they not writtenH3789[H8803] in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697[H3117] of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063?
[6]So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead. [6]So JehoiakimH3079 sleptH7901[H8799] with his fathersH1: and JehoiachinH3078 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8799.
[7]And the king of Egypt came no more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt, unto the river Perath, all that pertained to the king of Egypt. [7]And the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 cameH3318[H8800] not againH3254[H8689] any more out of his landH776: for the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 had takenH3947[H8804] from the riverH5158 of EgyptH4714 unto the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578 all that pertained to the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714.
[8]Jehoiachin was eighteen year old, when he began to reign, and reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother's name also was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem. [8]JehoiachinH3078 was eighteenH8083[H6240] yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427[H8800], and he reignedH4427[H8804] in JerusalemH3389 threeH7969 monthsH2320. And his mother'sH517 nameH8034 was NehushtaH5179, the daughterH1323 of ElnathanH494 of JerusalemH3389.
[9]And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father had done. [9]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, according to all that his fatherH1 had doneH6213.[H8804]
[10]In that time came the servants of Neb-u-chad-nezzar king of Babylon up against Jerusalem: so the city was besieged. [10]At that timeH6256 the servantsH5650 of NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 came upH5927[H8804] against JerusalemH3389, and the cityH5892 was besiegedH935[H8799].[H4692]
[11]And Neb-u-chad-nezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it. [11]And NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 cameH935[H8799] against the cityH5892, and his servantsH5650 did besiegeH6696 itH8802.
[12]Then Jehoiachin the king of Judah came out against the king of Babylon, he, and his mother and his servants, and his princes, and his eunuchs: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign. [12]And JehoiachinH3078 the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 went outH3318[H8799] to the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, he, and his motherH517, and his servantsH5650, and his princesH8269, and his officersH5631: and the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 tookH3947[H8799] him in the eighthH8083 yearH8141 of his reignH4427.[H8800]
[13]And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house, and break all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lord, as the Lord had said. [13]And he carried outH3318[H8686] thence all the treasuresH214 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, and the treasuresH214 of the king'sH4428 houseH1004, and cut in piecesH7112[H8762] all the vesselsH3627 of goldH2091 which SolomonH8010 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 had madeH6213[H8804] in the templeH1964 of the LORDH3068, as the LORDH3068 had saidH1696.[H8765]
[14]And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the strong men of war , even ten thousand into captivity, and all the workmen, and cunning men: so none remained saving the poor people of the land. [14]And he carried awayH1540[H8689] all JerusalemH3389, and all the princesH8269, and all the mighty menH1368 of valourH2428, even tenH6235 thousandH505 captivesH1540[H8802], and all the craftsmenH2796 and smithsH4525: none remainedH7604[H8738], saveH2108 the poorest sortH1803 of the peopleH5971 of the landH776.
[15]And he carried away Jehoiachin into Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his eunuchs, and the mighty of the land carried he away into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon, [15]And he carried awayH1540[H8686] JehoiachinH3078 to BabylonH894, and the king'sH4428 motherH517, and the king'sH4428 wivesH802, and his officersH5631, and the mightyH352[H8675][H193] of the landH776, those carriedH3212[H8689] he into captivityH1473 from JerusalemH3389 to BabylonH894.
[16]And all the men of war, even seven thousand, and carpenters, and locksmiths a thousand: all that were strong and apt for war, did the king of Babylon bring to Babylon captives. [16]And all the menH582 of mightH2428, even sevenH7651 thousandH505, and craftsmenH2796 and smithsH4525 a thousandH505, all that were strongH1368 and aptH6213[H8802] for warH4421, even them the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 broughtH935[H8686] captiveH1473 to BabylonH894.
[17]And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his uncle king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah. [17]And the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 made MattaniahH4983 his father's brotherH1730 kingH4427[H8686] in his stead, and changedH5437[H8686] his nameH8034 to ZedekiahH6667.
[18]Zedekiah was one and twenty year old, when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. [18]ZedekiahH6667 was twentyH6242 and oneH259 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427[H8800], and he reignedH4427[H8804] elevenH259[H6240] yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And his mother'sH517 nameH8034 was HamutalH2537, the daughterH1323 of JeremiahH3414 of LibnahH3841.
[19]And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Jehoiakim had done. [19]And he didH6213[H8799] that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, according to all that JehoiakimH3079 had doneH6213.[H8804]
[20]Therefore certainly the wrath of the Lord was against Jerusalem and Judah until he cast them out of his sight. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon. [20]For through the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 it came to pass in JerusalemH3389 and JudahH3063, until he had cast them outH7993[H8689] from his presenceH6440, that ZedekiahH6667 rebelledH4775[H8799] against the kingH4428 of BabylonH894.
