[1]This even now beloved epistle second write I to you these by which awaken I by memory your minds pure |
[1]Now this, my beloved, the second epistle I write to you; in both of which I awaken to remembrance your fairⓘ mind. |
[2]That you may remember the words that before were spoken from the prophets holy and the commandments of our Lord and our Savior which were through the apostles |
[2]That you may remember the words which were before spoken by the holy prophets, and the commandments of our Lord and our Saviour [delivered] by the apostles. |
[3]As this first knew you that will come in the end of days scoffers who scoff while according to lusts their own they walk |
[3]This first know you, that there will come in the last of the days deriders who will deride, as after their own lusts they walk, |
[4]And they say "Where? is the promise of His coming from when for our forefathers fell asleep everything in this way continue from the beginning of creation |
[4]And saying, Where is the promise of his advent? for, since our fathers have slept, every thing [abideth] as from the beginning of the creation. |
[5]Disregard they for this when they choose that the heavens they were from the first and the land from waters and by water arose by the word of Alaha |
[5]Unknown to them is this while they are willing, that the heaven was from of old, and the earth from the waters and through the watersⓘ subsisted, by the word of Aloha: |
[6]These by which the world which then was lay in water and was destroyed |
[6]Those [waters] by which the world that then was, again [was covered] with waters, and perished. |
[7]The heavens but which now are and the earth by word His are stored up as for fire they are kept for the day of judgment and of the destruction of children of men wicked |
[7]But the heaven which is now, and the earth, by his own word are set, being reserved unto fire, unto the day of judgment and the perdition of wicked men. |
[8]This but one not you shall disregard beloved that one day to the Lord as a thousand years is and a thousand years as day one |
[8]But this one [truth] be not ignorant of, my beloved, That one day with the Lord [is] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. |
[9]Not delays the Lord in His promises as people delay consider but is long of His Spirit because of you in that not He is willing that a person would perish but every person to conversion would come |
[9]Not dilatory is the Lord in his promises, as some consider delay; but is patient on your account, not willing that any man should perish, but [that] every man to repentance should come. |
[10]Comes but the day of the Lord as a thief He in which the heavens from stillness pass away the elements but when set on fire shall be destroyed and the earth and the works that are in it shall be discovered |
[10]But the day of the Lord cometh as a thief: that [day] in which the heavens suddenlyⓘ shall pass away, but the elements burning be dissolved, and the earth and the works that are in it be found not. |
[11]When therefore these things all of them are destroyed that as what? is right for you that you would be in your way of life holy and in the worship of Alaha |
[11]As, therefore, all these are to be dissolved, how behoveth it you to be holy in your conversation, |
[12]While expect you and eagerly desire you the coming of the day of Alaha that in which the heavens when tested by fire shall be dissolved and the elements when set on fire they shall melt |
[12]And in the fear of Aloha; expecting and desiring the coming of the day of Aloha; that [day] in which the heavens, tried with fire, shall be dissolved, and the elements burning shall melt? |
[13]Heavens but new and earth new according to promise His we look for these in which righteousness dwells |
[13]But new heavens and earth, according to his promise, we expect; those wherein righteousness dwelleth. |
[14]Because this beloved as these things expect you take pains that without spot and without defect to Him you shall be found in peace |
[14]Wherefore, my beloved, while these you expect, be diligent, that, without blemish and without spot, of Him you may be found in peace. |
[15]And the patience of The Spirit of the Lord is salvation you shall consider just as that also our brother beloved Paul according to the wisdom that is given to him he wrote to you |
[15]And the long-suffering of the Lord consider [to be for] salvation; as also our beloved brother Paulos according to the wisdom which hath been given to him hath written to you. |
[16]Just as in all of them his letters he spoke in them about these those that are in them things that are difficult for the intellect these that those who without teaching are and not are stable pervert those things as also these scriptures remaining to destruction their own |
[16]As in all his epistles he speaks concerning these; in which there is somewhat difficult for intelligence. Those who are not knowing nor settled pervert them, as also the remaining scriptures, to their perdition. |
[17]You therefore beloved as beforehand you know keep yourselves lest as depart you after the deception of those who without The Law are you should fall from stability your own |
[17]You therefore, my beloved, knowing this before, keep yourselves, lest, going after the error of those who are lawless, you fall from your support. |
[18]You be but growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and our Savior Ieshu The Messiah and of Alaha The Father to Whom the glory also now and always and to the days of eternity Amen |
[18]But increase in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and our Saviour Jeshu Meshiha, and [of] Aloha the Father, Whose be glory both now, and in all time, and to the days eternal. Amen.
