And one said: 'Is not this Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?'

And Joab sent Uriah to David.
[7]καίC παραγίγνομαιV1-PMI3S *ουριαςN--NSM καίC εἰςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC ἐπιἐρωτάωVAI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM εἰςP εἰρήνηN1-ASF *ιωαβN--GSM καίC εἰςP εἰρήνηN1-ASFRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM καίC εἰςP εἰρήνηN1-ASFRA-GSM πόλεμοςN2-GSM [7]And when Uriah was come unto him, David asked of him how Joab did, and how the people fared, and how the war prospered.
[8]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSMRA-DSM *ουριαςN--DSM καταβαίνωVZ-APD2S εἰςPRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM σύRP-GS καίC νίπτωVA-AANRA-APM πούςN3D-APM σύRP-GS καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *ουριαςN--NSM ἐκP οἶκοςN2-GSMRA-GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S ὀπίσωD αὐτόςRD-GSM ἄρσιςN3I-NSFRA-GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM [8]And David said to Uriah: 'Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet.' And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of food from the king.

[12]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM πρόςP *ουριαςN--ASM καταἵζωVA-AAD2S ἐνταῦθαD καίC γέX σήμερονD καίC αὔριονD ἐκ ἀποστέλλωVF2-FAI1S σύRP-AS καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3S *ουριαςN--NSM ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF ἐνPRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF καίCRA-DSF ἐπαύριονD [12]And David said to Uriah: 'Tarry here to-day also, and to-morrow I will let thee depart.' So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.

[14]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S πρωίD καίC γράφωVAI-AAI3S *δαυίδN--NSM βιβλίονN2N-ASN πρόςP *ιωαβN--ASM καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP χείρN3-DSF *ουριαςN--GSM [14]And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
[15]καίC γράφωVAI-AAI3S ἐνPRA-DSN βιβλίονN2N-DSN λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἐιςἄγωVB-AAI3SRA-ASM *ουριαςN--ASM ἐκP ἐναντίοςA1A-GSFRA-GSM πόλεμοςN2-GSMRA-GSM κραταιόςA1A-GSM καίC ἀποστρέφωVD-FPI2P ἀπόP ὄπισθεD αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC πλήσσωVD-FPI3S καίC ἀποθνήσκωVF2-FMI3S [15]And he wrote in the letter, saying: 'Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.'
[16]καίC γίγνομαιVCI-API3S ἐνPRA-DSN φυλάσσωV1-PAN *ιωαβN--NSM ἐπίPRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF καίC τίθημιVAI-AAI3SRA-ASM *ουριαςN--ASM εἰςPRA-ASM τόποςN2-ASM ὅςRR-GSM εἶδοςN3E-DSN ὅτιC ἀνήρN3-NPM δύναμιςN3I-GSF ἐκεῖD [16]And it came to pass, when Joab kept watch upon the city, that he assigned Uriah unto the place where he knew that valiant men were.
[17]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3PRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPMRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC πολεμέωV2I-IAI3P μετάP *ιωαβN--ASM καίC πίπτωVAI-AAI3P ἐκPRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM ἐκPRA-GPM δοῦλοςN2-GPM *δαυίδN--GSM καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S καίC γέX *ουριαςN--NSMRA-NSM *χετταῖοςN2-NSM [17]And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab; and there fell some of the people, even of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.
[18]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S *ιωαβN--NSM καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVAI-AAI3SRA-DSM βασιλεύςN3V-DSM πᾶςA3-APMRA-APM λόγοςN2-APMRA-GSM πόλεμοςN2-GSM [18]Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;
[19]καίC ἐντέλλωVAI-AMI3SRA-DSM ἄγγελοςN2-DSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἐνPRA-DSN συντελέωVA-AAN σύRP-AS πᾶςA3-APMRA-APM λόγοςN2-APMRA-GSM πόλεμοςN2-GSM λαλέωVA-AAN πρόςPRA-ASM βασιλεύςN3V-ASM [19]And he charged the messenger, saying: 'When thou hast made an end of telling all the things concerning the war unto the king,
[20]καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3S ἐάνC ἀναβαίνωVZ-AAS3SRA-NSM θυμόςN2-NSMRA-GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM καίC εἶπονVB-AAS3S σύRP-DS τίςRI-NSN ὅτιC ἐγγίζωVAI-AAI2P πρόςPRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF πολεμέωVA-AAN οὐD οἶδαVXI-YAI2P ὅτιC τοξεύωVF-FAI3P ἀπάνωθενDRA-GSN τεῖχοςN3E-GSN [20]It shall be that, if the king's wrath arise, and he say unto the Wherefore went ye so nigh unto the city to fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?
[21]τίςRI-NSM πατάσσωVAI-AAI3SRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--ASM υἱόςN2-ASM *ιεροβααλN--GS οὐD γυνήN3K-NSF ῥίπτωVAI-AAI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-ASM κλάσμαN3M-NSN μύλοςN2-GSM ἐπάνωθεDRA-GSN τεῖχοςN3E-GSN καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S ἐνP *θαμασιN--DS ἵναC τίςRI-ASN προςἄγωVBI-AAI2P πρόςPRA-ASN τεῖχοςN3E-ASN καίC εἶπονVF2-FAI2S καίC γέX *ουριαςN--NSMRA-NSM δοῦλοςN2-NSM σύRP-GSRA-NSM *χετταῖοςN2-NSM ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S [21]Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast an upper millstone upon him from the wall, that he died at Thebez? why went ye so nigh the wall? then shalt thou say: Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.'

[24]καίC τοξεύωVAI-AAI3PRA-NPM τοξεύωV1-PAPNPM πρόςPRA-APM παῖςN3D-APM σύRP-GS ἀπάνωθενDRA-GSN τεῖχοςN3E-GSN καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3PRA-GPM παῖςN3D-GPMRA-GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM καίC γέXRA-NSM δοῦλοςN2-NSM σύRP-GS *ουριαςN--NSMRA-NSM *χετταῖοςN2-NSM ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S [24]And the shooters shot at thy servants from off the wall; and some of the king's servants are dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.'
