| [1]אנת הכיל ברי אתחיל בטיבותא דבישׁוע משׁיחא |
[1]Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |
| [2]ואילינ דשׁמעת מני ביד סהדא סגיאא הנינ אגעל לאנשׁא מהימנא אילינ דמטיא באידיהונ אפ לאחרנא למלפו |
[2]And what things thou hast heard of me, by many witnesses, the same deliver to faithful men, which shall be able to teach other also. |
| [3]וסיברו בישׁתא איכ פלחא טבא דישׁוע משׁיחא |
[3]Thou therefore suffer affliction as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. |
| [4]לא אנשׁ פלח ומתפכר בצבותא דעלמא דנשׁפר להו מנ דגביהי |
[4]No man that warreth, entangleth himself with the affairs of this life, because he would please him that hath chosen him to be a soldier. |
| [5]ואנ מתכתשׁ אנשׁ לא מתכלל אנ בנמוסה לא מתכתשׁ |
[5]And if any man also strive for a Mastery, he is not crowned, except he strive as he ought to do. |
| [6]לאכרא דלאא ולא לה דקדמא מנ פארוהי נסתיבר |
[6]The husbandman must labor before he receive the fruits. |
| [7]אסתכל מדמ דאמר אנא נתל לכ מרנ חכמתא בכל מדמ |
[7]Consider what I say: and the Lord give thee understanding in all things: |
| [8]אתדכר לישׁוע משׁיחא דקמ מנ בית מיתא הו דאיתוהי מנ זרעא דדויד איכ אונגליונ דילי |
[8]Remember that Jesus Christ, made of the seed of David, was raised again from the dead according to my Gospel, |
| [9]דבה סבל אנא בישׁתא עדמא לאסורא איכ עבד בישׁתא אלא מלתה דאלהא לא אסירא |
[9]Wherein I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even unto bonds: but the word of God is not bound. |
| [10]מטל הנא כל מדמ מסיבר אנא מטל גביא דאפ הנונ נשׁכחונ חיא דבישׁוע משׁיחא עמ שׁובחא דלעלמ |
[10]Therefore I suffer all things, for the elect's sake, that they might also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. |
| [11]מהימנא הי מלתא אנ גיר מיתנ עמה אפ עמה נחא |
[11]It is a true saying, For if we be dead with him, we also shall live with him. |
| [12]ואנ נסיבר אפ נמלכ עמה אנ דינ נכפור בה אפ הו נכפור בנ |
[12]If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us. |
| [13]ואנ לא נהימנ בה הו בהימנותה מקוא דנכפור גיר בנפשׁה לא משׁכח |
[13]If we believe not, yet abideth he faithful: he cannot deny himself. |
| [14]הלינ הוית מעהד להונ ומסהד קדמ מרנ דלא נהוונ מתחרינ במלא דלא יותרנ לסוחפא דאילינ דשׁמעינ להינ |
[14]Of these things put them in remembrance, and protest before the Lord, that they strive not about words, which is to no profit, but to the perverting of the hearers. |
| [15]ונתבטל לכ דתקימ נפשׁכ גמיראית קדמ אלהא פלחא דלא בהתתא דמכרז תריצאית מלתא דשׁררא |
[15]Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, dividing the word of truth aright. |
| [16]מנ מלא סריקתא דלית בהינ חשׁחו אשׁתאל יתיראית גיר נוספונ על רושׁעהונ הנונ דענינ בהינ |
[16]Stay profane, and vain babblings: for they shall increase unto more ungodliness. |
| [17]ומלתהונ איכ חלדיתא נומא תאחוד בסגיאא איתוהי דינ חד מנהונ הומנאוס ואחרנא פילטוס |
[17]And their word shall fret as a canker: of which sort is Hymeneus and Philetus, |
| [18]הלינ דטעו מנ שׁררא כד אמרינ דקימתא דמיתא הות לה והימנותא דאנשׁ אנשׁ מהפכינ |
[18]Which as concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and do destroy the faith of certain. |
| [19]שׁתאסתא דינ שׁרירתא דאלהא קימא הי ואית לה חתמא הנא וידע מריא לאילינ דדילה אנונ ונפרוק מנ עולא כל דקרא לשׁמה דמריא |
[19]But the foundation of God remaineth sure, and hath this seal, The Lord, knoweth who are his, and, Let every one that calleth on the Name of Christ, depart from iniquity. |
| [20]בביתא דינ רבא לא הוא מאנא דדהבא בלחוד או דסאמא אית בה אלא אפ דקיסא אפ דפחרא מנהונ לאיקרא ומנהונ לצערא |
[20]Notwithstanding in a great house are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth, and some for honor, and some unto dishonor. |
| [21]אנ אנשׁ הכיל נדכא נפשׁה מנ הלינ הוא מאנא דכיא לאיקרא דעהנ לחושׁחא דמרה ומטיב לכל עבד טב |
[21]If any man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the Lord, and prepared unto every good work. |
| [22]מנ כלהינ רגיגתא דטליותא ערוק והרט בתר כאנותא והימנותא וחובא ושׁלמא עמ אילינ דקרינ למרנ בלבא דכיא |
[22]Flee also from the lusts of youth, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with them that call on the Lord with pure heart. |
| [23]חרינא סכלא אילינ דדלא מרדו אנונ אשׁתאל מנהונ ידע אנת גיר דתכתושׁא מולדינ |
[23]And put away foolish, and unlearned questions, knowing that they engender strife. |
| [24]עבדה דינ דמרנ לא חיב למתכתשׁו אלא דנהוא מכיכ לות כל אנשׁ ומלפנ ונגירא רוחה |
[24]But the servant of the Lord must not strive, but must be gentle toward all men apt to teach, suffering the evil men patiently. |
| [25]דנהוא רדא לאילינ דמתחרינ לקובלה במכיכותא דלמא נתל להונ אלהא תיבותא ונדעונ שׁררא |
[25]Instructing them with meekness that are contrary minded, proving if God at any time will give them repentance, that they may know the truth, |
| [26]ונעהדונ נפשׁהונ ונפרקונ מנ פחה דסטנא דבה אתתצידו לצבינה |
[26]And that they may come to amendment out of the snare of the devil, which are taken of him at his will. |
