Reconstruction of Beza's Greek Textus-Receptus NT (1598)
Beza GNT
[1]You therefore my son be strengthened in the grace which is in Ieshu The Messiah [1]Σὺ οὖν,
[2]And those things that you have heard from me by witnesses many those things I have entrusted to men trustworthy those it has come into whose hands also others to teach [2]καὶ ἃ ἤκουσας παρ’ ἐμοῦ διὰ πολλῶν μαρτύρων, ταῦτα παράθου πιστοῖς ἀνθρώποις, οἵτινες ἱκανοὶ ἔσονται καὶ ἑτέρους διδάξαι.
[3]And endure evils as a soldier good of Ieshu The Messiah [3]σὺ οὖν κακοπάθησον, ὡς καλὸς στρατιώτης Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ.
[4]Not a man a soldier also is bound in matters of the world to please him who has chosen him [4]οὐδεὶς στρατευόμενος ἐμπλέκεται ταῖς τοῦ βίου πραγματείαις, ἵνα τῷ στρατολογήσαντι ἀρέσῃ.
[5]And if competes a man not he is crowned if by the rules not competes [5]ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἀθλῇ τις, οὐ στεφανοῦται ἐὰν μὴ νομίμως ἀθλήσῃ.
[6]To the ploughman who toils it is fitting to him first of his crop to be sustained [6]τὸν κοπιῶντα γεωργὸν δεῖ πρῶτον τῶν καρπῶν μεταλαμβάνειν.
[7]Consider what say I may give to you our Lord wisdom in every thing
[8]Call to mind Ieshu The Messiah Who arose from the place of the dead He Who is from the seed of David according to Gospel my [8]μνημόνευε Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν ἐγηγερμένον ἐκ νεκρῶν, ἐκ σπέρματος Δαβίδ, κατὰ τὸ εὐαγγέλιόν μου·
[9]In which suffer I evils unto chains as if a doer evil but the word of Alaha not is chained [9]ἐν ᾧ κακοπαθῶ μέχρι δεσμῶν, ὡς κακοῦργος· ἀλλ’ ὁ λόγος τοῦ Θεοῦ οὐ δέδεται.
[10]Because of this everything endure I for the elect ones that also those may find The Life which is in Ieshu The Messiah with the glory eternal [10]διὰ τοῦτο πάντα ὑπομένω διὰ τοὺς ἐκλεκτούς, ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ σωτηρίας τύχωσι τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ, μετὰ δόξης αἰωνίου.
[11]Trustworthy is the word if for we have died with Him also with Him we shall live
[12]And if we shall suffer also we shall reign with Him if but we reject Him also He will reject us [12]εἰ ὑπομένομεν, καὶ συμβασιλεύσομεν· εἰ ἀρνούμεθα, κἀκεῖνος ἀρνήσεται ἡμᾶς·
[13]And if not we shall have believed in Him He in His faithfulness continues to reject for Himself not He is able [13]εἰ ἀπιστοῦμεν, ἐκεῖνος πιστὸς μένει· ἀρνήσασθαι ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται.
[14]These things be reminding them and charging before our Lord that not they shall be disputing about words without profit to the overthrow of those who hear such things
[15]And take care of yourself that you present yourself perfectly before Alaha a laborer without shame who preaches straightforwardly the word of truth
[16]And from words empty there is not in which benefit avoid all the more for will they add upon their wickedness those who converse in them [16]τὰς δὲ βεβήλους κενοφωνίας περιΐστασο· ἐπὶ πλεῖον γὰρ προκόψουσιν ἀσεβείας,
[17]And their speech as a cancer consuming will seize many there is but one of them Humenayus another Philetus [17]καὶ ὁ λόγος αὐτῶν ὡς γάγγραινα νομὴν ἕξει· ὧν ἐστιν Ὑμέναιος καὶ Φίλητος·
[18]These who have wandered from the truth while saying the resurrection of the dead has occurred it and the faith of each man overthrow
[19]The foundation but firm of Alaha stands that and is to it the seal this and knows the Lord those who His are and let separate from evil everyone who calls on The Name of the Lord [19]ὁ μέντοι στερεὸς θεμέλιος τοῦ Θεοῦ ἕστηκεν, ἔχων τὴν σφραγῖδα ταύτην, Ἔγνω Κύριος τοὺς ὄντας αὐτοῦ, καί, Ἀποστήτω ἀπὸ ἀδικίας πᾶς ὁ ὀνομάζων τὸ ὄνομα Χριστού.
[20]In a house but great not is it vessels of gold only or of silver are in it but also of wood also of pottery some of them for honor and some for dishonor [20]ἐν μεγάλῃ δὲ οἰκίᾳ οὐκ ἔστι μόνον σκεύη χρυσᾶ καὶ ἀργυρᾶ, ἀλλὰ καὶ ξύλινα καὶ ὀστράκινα, καὶ ἃ μὲν εἰς τιμὴν, ἃ δὲ εἰς ἀτιμίαν.
[21]If a man therefore will purify himself from these he is a vessel pure for honor that is suitable for the use of his Lord and ready for every work good [21]ἐὰν οὖν τις ἐκκαθάρῃ ἑαυτὸν ἀπὸ τούτων, ἔσται σκεῦος εἰς τιμήν, ἡγιασμένον, καὶ εὔχρηστον τῷ δεσπότῃ, εἰς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἡτοιμασμένον.
[22]From all lusts of youth escape and run after righteousness and faith and love and peace with those who call on our Lord in a heart pure [22]τὰς δὲ νεωτερικὰς ἐπιθυμίας φεῦγε· δίωκε δὲ δικαιοσύνην, πίστιν, ἀγάπην, εἰρήνην μετὰ τῶν ἐπικαλουμένων τὸν Χριστὸν ἐκ καθαρᾶς καρδίας.
[23]The disputes of fools those that without instruction are abstain from them know you for that conflict they generate [23]τὰς δὲ μωρὰς καὶ ἀπαιδεύτους ζητήσεις παραιτοῦ, εἰδὼς ὅτι γεννῶσι μάχας.
[24]A servant but of our Lord not ought to fight but to be humble to every person and instructive and long in his spirit
[25]That he may instruct those who dispute against him in humility perhaps will give to them Alaha repentance and they shall know the truth [25]ἐν πρᾶότητι παιδεύοντα τοὺς ἀντιδιατιθεμένους· μήποτε δῷ αὐτοῖς ὁ Θεὸς μετάνοιαν εἰς ἐπίγνωσιν ἀληθείας,
[26]And they will remember their souls and they will break loose from the trap of Satan by whom they were captured for his pleasure [26]καὶ ἀνανήψωσιν ἐκ τῆς τοῦ διαβόλου παγίδος, ἐζωγρημένοι ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ ἐκείνου θέλημα.
