[1]The Elder to Gaius the beloved to him whom I love do in truth |
[1]THE presbyter unto Gaios my beloved, whom I love in truth. |
[2]Our beloved in all things pray I for you that you prosper and be well just as prospers your soul |
[2]Our beloved, in all things I pray for thee, that thou mayest prosper and be healthful, even as thy soul prospereth. |
[3]I rejoiced for much that came the brethren and testified about your faithfulness just as you in the truth walk do |
[3]For I have rejoiced greatly when the brethren have come, and have testified concerning thy integrity, even as in the truth thou walkest. |
[4]For greater than this joy there is not to me that I hear that children my in the truth are walking |
[4]And greater joy than this I have not [than] when I hear that my sons walk in the truth. |
[5]Our beloved in faith do you that which do you to the brethren and especially those who are strangers |
[5]Our beloved, in faithfulness thou performest what thou doest unto the brethren, and especially to those who are strangers, |
[6]Those who testified of your love before all the church to those good did you which supplied you to them just as is becoming to Alaha |
[6]Who have testified of thy charity, before all the church, to whom thou hast done well according to that which is worthy of Aloha. |
[7]For the sake for His Name they went out while anything not they received from the nations |
[7]For after his name they went forth, taking nothing from the Gentiles. |
[8]We therefore we are indebted to receive such as these that helpers we may be for the truth |

[9]Sought I had to write to the assembly but he who loves to be foremost their Diotrephys not receives us |
[9]I would have written to the church; but he who loveth to be foremostⓘ of you, Diotrapas, receiveth us not. |
[10]Because of this if it is that I come I shall remember his works those which he did which in words wicked he slandered us and when not it was enough to him these not he received the brethren and those who receive he forbids and throws out from the church |
[10]On account of this, if I come, I will remember the works which he doeth, who words of evil maketh concerning us; and these not satisfying him, he hath not received the brethren, and those who receive he forbiddeth, and also expelleth from the church. |
[11]Our beloved not imitate evil but the good the one who does good from Alaha is the one who does evil not has seen Him to Alaha |
[11]Our beloved, be not imitative of the evil, but of the good. He who doeth good is of Aloha, and he who doeth evil hath not seen Aloha. |
[12]About Demetrius has he a testimony from everyone and from that of the assembly and from that of the truth also we but we testify and know you that testimony ours true is |
[12]Concerning Demetrios is a testimony from every man, and from the church, and from the truth itself. But we also bear witness, and you know that our testimony is true. |
[13]Much is has been for me to write to you but not desired I that with ink and reed pen to write to you |
[13]I have many things which I would write to thee, but I will not with ink and reed write to thee. |
[14]Hope I but that soon I shall see you and mouth to mouth we shall speak |
