[1]ατενισας δε ο παυλος τω συνεδριω ειπεν ανδρες αδελφοι εγω παση συνειδησει αγαθη πεπολιτευμαι τω θεω αχρι ταυτης της ημερας [1]And when gazed Paulus at the assembly he said men brothers I in all conscience good I have lived before Alaha until today
[2]ο δε αρχιερευς ανανιας επεταξεν τοις παρεστωσιν αυτω τυπτειν αυτου το στομα [2]And Khanan-Yah the priest commanded those who stood on the side to hit Paulus on his mouth
[3]τοτε ο παυλος προς αυτον ειπεν τυπτειν σε μελλει ο θεος τοιχε κεκονιαμενε και συ καθη κρινων με κατα τον νομον και παρανομων κελευεις με τυπτεσθαι [3]And Paulus said to him going is Alaha to strike you a wall whitened and you sitting are judge you me according to the law when violate you against the law and command you to strike me
[4]οι δε παρεστωτες ειπαν τον αρχιερεα του θεου λοιδορεις [4]And those who standing were there were saying to him the priest of Alaha accuse you
[5]εφη τε ο παυλος ουκ ηδειν αδελφοι οτι εστιν αρχιερευς γεγραπται γαρ οτι αρχοντα του λαου σου ουκ ερεις κακως [5]Said to them Paulus not aware I was brothers that the Priest he is written it is for "The Ruler of your people not curse"
[6]γνους δε ο παυλος οτι το εν μερος εστιν σαδδουκαιων το δε ετερον φαρισαιων εκραζεν εν τω συνεδριω ανδρες αδελφοι εγω φαρισαιος ειμι υιος φαρισαιων περι ελπιδος και αναστασεως νεκρων [εγω] κρινομαι [6]And when knew Paulus that some of the people was of Zadoqia and some of Pharisha shouting he was in the council men brothers I Pharisha am son of a Pharisha and for the hope of the resurrection of the dead judged I am
[7]τουτο δε αυτου λαλουντος ειποντος εγενετο στασις των φαρισαιων και σαδδουκαιων και εσχισθη το πληθος [7]And when this he said fell one upon another Pharisha and Zadoqia and was divided the people
[8]σαδδουκαιοι μεν γαρ λεγουσιν μη ειναι αναστασιν μητε αγγελον μητε πνευμα φαρισαιοι δε ομολογουσιν τα αμφοτερα [8]Zadokia for were saying there is no resurrection neither angel nor spirit The Pharisha but confess all of these
[9]εγενετο δε κραυγη μεγαλη και ανασταντες τινες των γραμματεων του μερους των φαρισαιων διεμαχοντο λεγοντες ουδεν κακον ευρισκομεν εν τω ανθρωπω τουτω ει δε πνευμα ελαλησεν αυτω η αγγελος [9]And there was noise great stood some scribes of the side of the Pharisha and contending they were with them and they were saying not we find anything evil in this man if but The Spirit or an angel spoke with him what? is there in it in that
[10]πολλης δε γινομενης στασεως φοβηθεις ο χιλιαρχος μη διασπασθη ο παυλος υπ αυτων εκελευσεν το στρατευμα καταβαν αρπασαι αυτον εκ μεσου αυτων αγειν τε εις την παρεμβολην [10]And when there was an uproar great among them afraid was the Chiliarch lest they would tear apart Paulus and he sent Romans to go snatch him from their midst and bring him to the encampment
[11]τη δε επιουση νυκτι επιστας αυτω ο κυριος ειπεν θαρσει ως γαρ διεμαρτυρω τα περι εμου εις ιερουσαλημ ουτως σε δει και εις ρωμην μαρτυρησαι [11]And when he was the night appeared to him our Lord to Paulus and said to him be strong because as you testified of Me in Jerusalem thus are going you also in Rome to testify
[12]γενομενης δε ημερας ποιησαντες συστροφην οι ιουδαιοι ανεθεματισαν εαυτους λεγοντες μητε φαγειν μητε πιειν εως ου αποκτεινωσιν τον παυλον [12]And when it was dawn gathered were some of the Jews and they put a curse upon themselves that not they would eat neither would they drink until they would kill him Paulus
[13]ησαν δε πλειους τεσσερακοντα οι ταυτην την συνωμοσιαν ποιησαμενοι [13]There were but those who established in an oath this covenant more than forty men
[14]οιτινες προσελθοντες τοις αρχιερευσιν και τοις πρεσβυτεροις ειπαν αναθεματι ανεθεματισαμεν εαυτους μηδενος γευσασθαι εως ου αποκτεινωμεν τον παυλον [14]And they came to The Priests and to The Elders and saying they were "A curse we have cursed upon us that anything not we shall taste until we shall kill Paulus
[15]νυν ουν υμεις εμφανισατε τω χιλιαρχω συν τω συνεδριω οπως καταγαγη αυτον εις υμας ως μελλοντας διαγινωσκειν ακριβεστερον-C τα περι αυτου ημεις δε προ του εγγισαι αυτον ετοιμοι εσμεν του ανελειν αυτον [15]And now ask you and The Rulers of the Council from The Chiliarch to bring him to you as if seek you to examine properly his conduct and we we are ready to kill him before he arrives in your presence
[16]ακουσας δε ο υιος της αδελφης παυλου την ενεδραν παραγενομενος και εισελθων εις την παρεμβολην απηγγειλεν τω παυλω [16]And heard had son of the sister of Paulus plot this and he entered the encampment and informed Paulus
[17]προσκαλεσαμενος δε ο παυλος ενα των εκατονταρχων εφη τον νεανιαν τουτον απαγε απαγαγε προς τον χιλιαρχον εχει γαρ απαγγειλαι τι αυτω [17]And sent Paulus he called one of the Centurions and said to him escort young man this to The Chiliarch has he for something to say to him
[18]ο μεν ουν παραλαβων αυτον ηγαγεν προς τον χιλιαρχον και φησιν ο δεσμιος παυλος προσκαλεσαμενος με ηρωτησεν τουτον τον νεανιαν νεανισκον αγαγειν προς σε εχοντα τι λαλησαι σοι [18]And led him The Centurion the youth and brought him to The Chiliarch and said Paulus the prisoner called me and begged of me to bring this young man unto you who has to him something to say to you
[19]επιλαβομενος δε της χειρος αυτου ο χιλιαρχος και αναχωρησας κατ ιδιαν επυνθανετο τι εστιν ο εχεις απαγγειλαι μοι [19]And held him by his hand The Chiliarch the youth and drew him to one side and asking he was him "What? have you to say to me"
[20]ειπεν δε οτι οι ιουδαιοι συνεθεντο του ερωτησαι σε οπως αυριον τον παυλον καταγαγης εις το συνεδριον ως μελλων μελλον τι ακριβεστερον-C πυνθανεσθαι περι αυτου [20]And said to him the youth the Judeans have planned to entreat of you to send down Paulus tomorrow to their Council as if they want something more to learn from him
[21]συ ουν μη πεισθης αυτοις ενεδρευουσιν γαρ αυτον εξ αυτων ανδρες πλειους τεσσερακοντα οιτινες ανεθεματισαν εαυτους μητε φαγειν μητε πιειν εως ου ανελωσιν αυτον και νυν εισιν ετοιμοι προσδεχομενοι την απο σου επαγγελιαν [21]You therefore not believe them behold for more than forty men of them are watching for him in ambush and have put a curse on themselves that not to eat nor to drink until they kill him and behold they are ready and waiting for your promise
[22]ο μεν ουν χιλιαρχος απελυσεν τον νεανισκον παραγγειλας μηδενι εκλαλησαι οτι ταυτα ενεφανισας προς εμε με [22]And dismissed him The Chiliarch the youth as he ordered a man not would know that these things you have shown me
[23]και προσκαλεσαμενος τινας δυο δυο [τινας] των εκατονταρχων ειπεν ετοιμασατε στρατιωτας διακοσιους οπως πορευθωσιν εως καισαρειας και ιππεις εβδομηκοντα και δεξιολαβους διακοσιους απο τριτης ωρας της νυκτος [23]And he called two Centurions and said to them go prepare Romans two hundred to go to Qesaria and horsemen seventy and shooters right handed two hundred to go out from third hour in the night
[24]κτηνη τε παραστησαι ινα επιβιβασαντες τον παυλον διασωσωσιν προς φηλικα τον ηγεμονα [24]Prepare but also beasts of burden so they may mount Paulus and let him escape to Filix The Governor
[25]γραψας επιστολην εχουσαν τον τυπον τουτον [25]And he wrote a letter he gave to them who were with him thus
[26]κλαυδιος λυσιας τω κρατιστω ηγεμονι φηλικι χαιρειν [26]Qlaudius Lusius to Filix The Governor The Excellent Greeting
[27]τον ανδρα τουτον συλλημφθεντα υπο των ιουδαιων και μελλοντα αναιρεισθαι υπ αυτων επιστας συν τω στρατευματι εξειλαμην μαθων οτι ρωμαιος εστιν [27]Man this seized the Judeans so as to kill him and I helped I with the Romans and I saved him when I learned that Roman he is
[28]βουλομενος τε επιγνωναι την αιτιαν δι ην ενεκαλουν αυτω [κατηγαγον εις το συνεδριον αυτων] κατηγαγον εις το συνεδριον αυτων [28]And when sought I had to know the cause for which accusing they were him I brought him down to their Council
[29]ον ευρον εγκαλουμενον περι ζητηματων του νομου αυτων μηδεν δε αξιον θανατου η δεσμων εχοντα εγκλημα [29]And I found that about charges of their law accusing they were him and a cause that worthy for imprisonment or for death not was against him
[30]μηνυθεισης δε μοι επιβουλης εις τον ανδρα εσεσθαι εξαυτης επεμψα προς σε παραγγειλας και τοις κατηγοροις λεγειν [τα] προς αυτον επι σου [30]And when it was shown to me a plot by ambush that made against him the Judeans at once I sent him to you and I ordered his accusers to go and to speak with him before you be well
[31]οι μεν ουν στρατιωται κατα το διατεταγμενον αυτοις αναλαβοντες τον παυλον ηγαγον δια νυκτος εις την αντιπατριδα [31]Then the Romans as they were ordered brought him Paulus in the night and brought him to Antipatris the city
[32]τη δε επαυριον εασαντες τους ιππεις απερχεσθαι συν αυτω υπεστρεψαν εις την παρεμβολην [32]And the day next dismissed the horsemen the foot soldiers their comrades to return to camp
[33]οιτινες εισελθοντες εις την καισαρειαν και αναδοντες την επιστολην τω ηγεμονι παρεστησαν και τον παυλον αυτω [33]And they brought him to Qesaria and gave the letter to The Governor and presented him before him Paulus
[34]αναγνους δε και επερωτησας εκ ποιας επαρχειας εστιν και πυθομενος οτι απο κιλικιας [34]And when he read the letter asking he was him that from which? province he was and when he learned that from Qiliqia
[35]διακουσομαι σου εφη οταν και οι κατηγοροι σου παραγενωνται κελευσας εν τω πραιτωριω του ηρωδου φυλασσεσθαι αυτον [35]He said to him shall hear I you whenever have came your accusers and he commanded to keep him in The Praetorium of Herodus
