Peshitta NT (literal)
PesNT(lit)
[1]For I woulde that ye knew what great fight I haue for you, and for them that are at Laodicea, and for as many as haue not seene my face in the fleshe [1]Want I but you to know what struggles are to me for you and for those in Laodiqia and for others those who my face not have seen in the flesh
[2]That their heartes myght be comforted, beyng knyt together in loue, and in al riches of certaintie of vnderstanding, to knowe the misterie of God, and of the father, and of Christe [2]That may be comforted their hearts and they may approach in love all the wealth of assurance and the understanding of the knowledge of the mystery of Alaha The Father and of The Messiah
[3]In whom are hyd all the treasures of wisdome and knowledge [3]Him in Whom are hidden all treasures of wisdom and knowledge
[4]This I say, lest any man shoulde begyle you with perswasion of wordes [4]This but say I that not a man should deceive you in persuasiveness of words
[5]For though I be absent in the fleshe, yet am I with you in the spirite, ioying and beholdyng your order, and your stedfast fayth in Christe [5]Though in the flesh for separated I am from you but in spirit with you I am and rejoice I that see I your organization and the stability of your faith in The Messiah
[6]As ye haue therfore receaued Christe Iesus the Lorde, [so] walke ye in hym [6]Just as therefore you have received Ieshu The Messiah our Lord in Him walk
[7]Rooted and built in hym, & stablished in the fayth, as ye haue ben taught, aboundyng therin with thankes geuing [7]As strengthening your roots and being built up you are in Him and being established you are in faith that which you have learned in which may you abound with thanksgiving
[8]Beware lest any man spoyle you through philosophie & vayne deceipt, after the tradition of men, and after the rudimentes of the worlde, and not after Christe [8]Beware lest a man rob you by philosophy and by deception empty according to the teaching of children of men and according to the principles of the world and not according to The Messiah
[9]For in hym dwelleth all the fulnesse of the Godhead bodyly [9]For in Him dwells all The Fulness of The Deity corporately
[10]And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principalitie and power [10]And in Him also are you completed Who is The Head of all Principalities and Powers
[11]In whom also ye are circumcised with circumcisio made without handes, by puttyng of the body of sinnes of the fleshe, in the circumcision of Christe [11]And in Him you were circumcised by circumcision that is not by hands by putting off the body of sins by the circumcision of The Messiah
[12]Buried with him in baptisme, in who ye are also risen agayne through ye fayth of the operation of God, who hath raysed hym from the dead [12]And you were buried with Him in baptism and in it you arose with Him because you believed in the power of Alaha Who raised Him from among the dead
[13]And ye beyng dead to sinne and to the vncircumcision of your fleshe, hath he quickened with him, forgeuyng all your trepasses [13]And you who died you had by your sins and by the uncircumcision in your flesh He has given you life with Him and has forgiven us all of them our sins
[14]And puttyng out the hande writing of ordinaunces, that was agaynst vs, and that hath he taken out of the way, fastenyng it to his crosse [14]And He has blotted out by His authority the bill of our debts that which was adverse to us and He took it from the midst and He nailed it on His cross
[15]Spoylyng all principalities & powers, hath made a shewe of them openly, triumphyng ouer them in it [15]And by putting off His body He stripped The Principalities and The Powers and shamed them openly by His Essential Self
[16]Let no man therfore iudge you in meate, or in drinke, or in part of an holyday, or of the newe moone, or of the Sabboth [dayes] [16]Not therefore a man let disturb you about food or about drink or in distinctions of feasts and beginnings of months and of Sabbaths
[17]Which are shadowes of thynges to come: but the body (is) of Christe [17]These because are shadows of those things that were future the body but The Messiah is
[18]Let no man begile you of victorie, in the humblenesse and worshippyng of Angels, intrudyng (hym selfe into those thinges) which he hath not seene, causelesse puft vp with his fleshly mynde [18]Neither a man let wish by humility of mind for your condemnation to subjugate you to the worship of angels by which he presumes upon something that not he sees and emptily is puffed up in the mind of his flesh
[19]And holdeth not the head, wherof all the body by ioyntes & bandes supported and knit together, encreaseth with the encrease of God [19]Neither holding the Head from Whom the whole body constructed and settled in the joints and in the members and grows with the growth of Alaha
[20]Wherfore, yf ye be dead with Christe from ye rudimentes of the world: why, as though lyuyng in the worlde, are ye led with traditions [20]If for you have died with The Messiah to the principles of the world Why? as if it is that live you in the world judged are you
[21]Touche not, taste not, handle not [21]Not namely touch neither taste neither cleave
[22]Which all be in corruption, in abusyng after the commaundementes and doctrines of men [22]Which are these things that need to be destroyed and commandments are and the teaching of sons of men
[23]Which thynges haue a shewe of wisdome, in superstition & humblenesse of mynde, and in hurtyng of the body, not in any honour to the satisfiyng of ye flesh [23]And they appear to have in them the word of wisdom in the appearance of humility and worship of Alaha and without sparing of the body not in things of honor but in those things which the needs are of the body
