[1]Thou shalt offer unto the Lord thy God no bullock nor sheep wherein is blemish or any evil favored thing: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God. |

[2]If there be found among you in any of thy cities, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, man or woman that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant, |
| [3]And hath goneH3212[H8799] and servedH5647[H8799] otherH312 godsH430, and worshippedH7812[H8691] them, either the sunH8121, or moonH3394, or any of the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, H6680which I have not commandedH8765 |
[3]And hath gone and served other gods, and worshiped them: as the sun, or the moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded, |
| [4]And it be toldH5046[H8717] thee, and thou hast heardH8085[H8804] of it, and enquiredH1875[H8804] diligentlyH3190[H8687], and, behold, it be trueH571, and the thingH1697 certainH3559[H8737], that such abominationH8441 is wroughtH6213[H8738] in IsraelH3478: |
[4]And it be told unto thee, and thou hast heard it, then shalt thou inquire diligently: and if it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel, |
| [5]Then shalt thou bring forthH3318[H8689] that manH376 or that womanH802, which have committedH6213[H8804] that wickedH7451 thingH1697, unto thy gatesH8179, even that manH376 or that womanH802, and shalt stoneH5619[H8804] them with stonesH68, till they dieH4191.[H8804] |
[5]Then shalt thou bring forth that man, or that woman (which have committed that wicked thing) unto thy gates, whether it be man or woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. |
| [6]At the mouthH6310 of twoH8147 witnessesH5707, or threeH7969 witnessesH5707, shall he that is worthy of deathH4191[H8714] be put to deathH4191[H8801]; but at the mouthH6310 of oneH259 witnessH5707 he shall not be put to deathH4191.[H8714] |
[6]At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall he that is worthy of death, die: but at the mouth of one witness, he shall not die. |
| [7]The handsH3027 of the witnessesH5707 shall be firstH7223 upon him to put him to deathH4191[H8687], and afterwardH314 the handsH3027 of all the peopleH5971. So thou shalt putH1197 the evilH7451 awayH1197[H8765] from among youH7130. |
[7]The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him, to kill him: and afterward the hands of all the people: so thou shalt take the wicked away from among you. |
| [8]If there arise a matterH1697 too hardH6381[H8735] for thee in judgmentH4941, between bloodH1818 and bloodH1818, between pleaH1779 and pleaH1779, and between strokeH5061 and strokeH5061, being mattersH1697 of controversyH7379 within thy gatesH8179: then shalt thou ariseH6965[H8804], and get thee upH5927[H8804] into the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 H977shall chooseH8799 |
[8]If there rise a matter too hard for thee in judgment between blood and blood, between plea and plea, between plague and plague, in the matters of controversy within thy gates, then shalt thou arise, and go up unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, |
| [9]And thou shalt comeH935[H8804] unto the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881, and unto the judgeH8199[H8802] that shall be in those daysH3117, and enquireH1875[H8804]; and they shall shewH5046[H8689] thee the sentenceH1697 of judgmentH4941: |
[9]And thou shalt come unto the priests of the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and ask, and they shall show thee the sentence of judgment, |
| [10]And thou shalt doH6213[H8804] according to the sentenceH6310[H1697], which they of that placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH977[H8799] shall shewH5046[H8686] thee; and thou shalt observeH8104[H8804] to doH6213[H8800] according to all that they informH3384 theeH8686: |
[10]And thou shalt do according to that thing which they of that place (which the Lord hath chosen) show thee, and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee. |
| [11]According to the sentenceH6310 of the lawH8451 which they shall teachH3384[H8686] thee, and according to the judgmentH4941 which they shall tellH559[H8799] thee, thou shalt doH6213[H8799]: thou shalt not declineH5493[H8799] from the sentenceH1697 which they shall shewH5046[H8686] thee, to the right handH3225, nor to the leftH8040. |
[11]According to the law, which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, shalt thou do: thou shalt not decline from the thing which they shall show thee, neither to the right hand, nor to the left. |
| [12]And the manH376 that will doH6213[H8799] presumptuouslyH2087, and will not hearkenH8085[H8800] unto the priestH3548 that standethH5975[H8802] to ministerH8334[H8763] there before the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, or unto the judgeH8199[H8802], even that manH376 shall dieH4191[H8804]: and thou shalt put awayH1197[H8765] the evilH7451 from IsraelH3478. |
[12]And that man that will do presumptuously, not hearkening unto the priest (that standeth before the Lord thy God to minister there) or unto the judge, that man shall die, and thou shalt take away evil from Israel. |
| [13]And all the peopleH5971 shall hearH8085[H8799], and fearH3372[H8799], and do no more presumptuouslyH2102.[H8686] |
[13]So all the people shall hear and fear, and do no more presumptuously. |
| [14]When thou art comeH935[H8799] unto the landH776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 givethH5414[H8802] thee, and shalt possessH3423[H8804] it, and shalt dwellH3427[H8804] therein, and shalt sayH559[H8804], I will setH7760[H8799] a kingH4428 over me, like as all the nationsH1471 that are about meH5439; |
[14]When thou shalt come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and dwell therein, if thou say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me, |
| [15]Thou shalt in any wiseH7760[H8800] setH7760[H8799] him kingH4428 over thee, whom the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 shall chooseH977[H8799]: one from amongH7130 thy brethrenH251 shalt thou setH7760[H8799] kingH4428 over thee: thou mayestH3201[H8799] not setH5414[H8800] a strangerH5237[H376] over thee, which is not thy brotherH251. |
[15]Then thou shalt make him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: from among thy brethren shalt thou make a king over thee: thou shalt not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother. |
| [16]But he shall not multiplyH7235[H8686] horsesH5483 to himself, nor cause the peopleH5971 to returnH7725[H8686] to EgyptH4714, to the end that he should multiplyH7235[H8687] horsesH5483: forasmuch as the LORDH3068 hath saidH559[H8804] unto you, Ye shall henceforthH3254[H8686] returnH7725[H8800] no more that wayH1870. |
[16]In any wise he shall not prepare him many horses, nor bring the people again to Egypt, for to increase the number of horses, seeing the Lord hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth go no more again that way. |
| [17]Neither shall he multiplyH7235[H8686] wivesH802 to himself, that his heartH3824 turnH5493[H8799] not away: neither shall he greatlyH3966 multiplyH7235[H8686] to himself silverH3701 and goldH2091. |
[17]Neither shall he take him many wives, lest his heart turn away, neither shall he gather him much silver and gold. |
| [18]And it shall be, when he sittethH3427[H8800] upon the throneH3678 of his kingdomH4467, that he shall writeH3789[H8804] him a copyH4932 of this lawH8451 in a bookH5612 out of that which is beforeH6440 the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881: |
[18]And when he shall sit upon the throne of his kingdom, then shall he write him this law repeated in a book, by the priests of the Levites. |
| [19]And it shall be with him, and he shall readH7121[H8804] therein all the daysH3117 of his lifeH2416: that he may learnH3925[H8799] to fearH3372[H8800] the LORDH3068 his GodH430, to keepH8104[H8800] all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 and these statutesH2706, to doH6213 themH8800: |
[19]And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, and to keep all the words of this Law, and these ordinances, for to do them: |
| [20]That his heartH3824 be not lifted upH7311[H8800] above his brethrenH251, and that he turn not asideH5493[H8800] from the commandmentH4687, to the right handH3225, or to the leftH8040: to the end that he may prolongH748[H8686] his daysH3117 in his kingdomH4467, he, and his childrenH1121, in the midstH7130 of IsraelH3478. |
[20]That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not from the commandment, to the right hand or to the left, but that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his sons in the midst of Israel. |
