[1]Thou shalt not seeH7200[H8799] thy brother'sH251 oxH7794 or his sheepH7716 go astrayH5080[H8737], and hideH5956[H8694] thyself from them: thou shalt in any caseH7725[H8687] bring them againH7725[H8686] unto thy brotherH251. |
[1]Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox nor his sheep go astray, and withdraw thyself from them, but shalt bring them again unto thy brother. |
[2]And if thy brotherH251 be not nighH7138 unto thee, or if thou knowH3045[H8804] him not, then thou shalt bringH622[H8804] it untoH8432 thine own houseH1004, and it shall be with thee until thy brotherH251 seekH1875[H8800] after it, and thou shalt restore it to him againH7725.[H8689] |
[2]And if thy brother be not near unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it into thine house, and it shall remain with thee, until thy brother seek after it: then shalt thou deliver it to him again. |
[3]In like mannerH3651 shalt thou doH6213[H8799] with his assH2543; and so shalt thou doH6213[H8799] with his raimentH8071; and with all lost thingH9 of thy brother'sH251, which he hath lostH6[H8799], and thou hast foundH4672[H8804], shalt thou doH6213[H8799] likewise: thou mayestH3201[H8799] not hideH5956 thyselfH8692. |
[3]In like manner shalt thou do with his ass, and so shalt thou do with his raiment, and shalt so do with all lost things of thy brother, which he hath lost: if thou hast found them, thou shalt not withdraw thyself from them. |
[4]Thou shalt not seeH7200[H8799] thy brother'sH251 assH2543 or his oxH7794 fall downH5307[H8802] by the wayH1870, and hideH5956[H8694] thyself from them: thou shalt surelyH6965[H8687] help him to lift them up againH6965.[H8686] |
[4]Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass nor his ox fall down by the way, and withdraw thyself from them, but shalt lift them up with him. |
[5]The womanH802 shall not wear that which pertainethH3627 unto a manH1397, neither shall a manH1397 putH3847[H8799] on a woman'sH802 garmentH8071: for all that doH6213[H8802] soH428 are abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH430. |
[5]The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto the man, neither shall a man put on woman's raiment: for all that do so, are abomination unto the Lord thy God. |
[6]If a bird'sH6833 nestH7064 chanceH7122[H8735] to be beforeH6440 thee in the wayH1870 in any treeH6086, or on the groundH776, whether they be young onesH667, or eggsH1000, and the damH517 sittingH7257[H8802] upon the youngH667, or upon the eggsH1000, thou shalt not takeH3947[H8799] the damH517 with the youngH1121: |
[6]If thou find a bird's nest in the way, in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young, |
[7]But thou shalt in any wiseH7971[H8763] let the damH517 goH7971[H8762], and takeH3947[H8799] the youngH1121 to thee; that it may be wellH3190[H8799] with thee, and that thou mayest prolongH748[H8689] thy daysH3117. |
[7]But shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee, that thou mayest prosper and prolong thy days. |
[8]When thou buildestH1129[H8799] a newH2319 houseH1004, then thou shalt makeH6213[H8804] a battlementH4624 for thy roofH1406, that thou bringH7760[H8799] not bloodH1818 upon thine houseH1004, if any manH5307[H8802] fallH5307 from thenceH8799. |
[8]When thou buildest a new house, thou shalt make a battlement on thy roof, that thou lay not blood upon thine house, if any man fall thence. |
[9]Thou shalt not sowH2232[H8799] thy vineyardH3754 with divers seedsH3610: lest the fruitH4395 of thy seedH2233 which thou hast sownH2232[H8799], and the fruitH8393 of thy vineyardH3754, be defiledH6942.[H8799] |
[9]Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers kinds of seeds, lest thou defile the increase of the seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of the vineyard. |
[10]Thou shalt not plowH2790[H8799] with an oxH7794 and an assH2543 togetherH3162. |
[10]Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together. |
[11]Thou shalt not wearH3847[H8799] a garment of divers sortsH8162, as of woollenH6785 and linenH6593 togetherH3162. |
[11]Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woolen and linen together. |
[12]Thou shalt makeH6213[H8799] thee fringesH1434 upon the fourH702 quartersH3671 of thy vestureH3682, wherewith thou coverestH3680 thyselfH8762. |
[12]Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself. |
[13]If any manH376 takeH3947[H8799] a wifeH802, and go inH935[H8804] unto her, and hateH8130 herH8804, |
[13]If a man take a wife, and when he hath lain with her, hate her, |
[14]And giveH7760[H8804] occasionsH5949 of speechH1697 against her, and bring upH3318[H8689] an evilH7451 nameH8034 upon her, and sayH559[H8804], I tookH3947[H8804] this womanH802, and when I cameH7126[H8799] to her, I foundH4672[H8804] her not a maidH1331: |
[14]And lay slanderous things unto her charge, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this wife, and when I came to her, I found her not a maiden, |
[15]Then shall the fatherH1 of the damselH5291, and her motherH517, takeH3947[H8804] and bring forthH3318[H8689] the tokens of the damsel'sH5291 virginityH1331 unto the eldersH2205 of the cityH5892 in the gateH8179: |
[15]Then shall the father of the maiden and her mother take and bring the signs of the maiden's virginity unto the elders of the city to the gate. |
[16]And the damsel'sH5291 fatherH1 shall sayH559[H8804] unto the eldersH2205, I gaveH5414[H8804] my daughterH1323 unto this manH376 to wifeH802, and he hatethH8130 herH8799; |
[16]And the maiden's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her: |
[17]And, lo, he hath givenH7760[H8804] occasionsH5949 of speechH1697 against her, sayingH559[H8800], I foundH4672[H8804] not thy daughterH1323 a maidH1331; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter'sH1323 virginityH1331. And they shall spreadH6566[H8804] the clothH8071 beforeH6440 the eldersH2205 of the cityH5892. |
[17]And lo, he layeth slanderous things unto her charge, saying, I found not thy daughter a maiden: lo, these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity: and they shall spread the vesture before the elders of the city. |
[18]And the eldersH2205 of that cityH5892 shall takeH3947[H8804] that manH376 and chastiseH3256 himH8765; |
[18]Then the elders of the city shall take that man and chastise him, |
[19]And they shall amerceH6064[H8804] him in an hundredH3967 shekels of silverH3701, and giveH5414[H8804] them unto the fatherH1 of the damselH5291, because he hath brought upH3318[H8689] an evilH7451 nameH8034 upon a virginH1330 of IsraelH3478: and she shall be his wifeH802; he mayH3201[H8799] not put her awayH7971[H8763] all his daysH3117. |
[19]And shall condemn him in an hundred shekels of sliver, and give them unto the father of the maiden, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a maiden of Israel: and she shall be his wife, and he may not put her away all his life. |
[20]But if this thingH1697 be trueH571, and the tokens of virginityH1331 be not foundH4672[H8738] for the damselH5291: |
[20]But if this thing be true, that the maiden be not found a virgin, |
[21]Then they shall bring outH3318[H8689] the damselH5291 to the doorH6607 of her father'sH1 houseH1004, and the menH582 of her cityH5892 shall stoneH5619[H8804] her with stonesH68 that she dieH4191[H8804]: because she hath wroughtH6213[H8804] follyH5039 in IsraelH3478, to play the whoreH2181[H8800] in her father'sH1 houseH1004: so shalt thou putH1197 evilH7451 awayH1197[H8765] from among youH7130. |
[21]Then shall they bring forth the maiden to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones to death: for she hath wrought folly in Israel, by playing the whore in her father's house: so thou shalt put evil away from among you. |
[22]If a manH376 be foundH4672[H8735] lyingH7901[H8802] with a womanH802 marriedH1166[H8803] to an husbandH1167, then they shall both of themH8147 dieH4191[H8804], both the manH376 that layH7901[H8802] with the womanH802, and the womanH802: so shalt thou put awayH1197[H8765] evilH7451 from IsraelH3478. |
[22]If a man be found lying with a woman married to a man, then they shall die even both twain: to wit, the man that lay with the wife, and the wife: so thou shalt put away evil from Israel. |
[23]If a damselH5291 that is a virginH1330 be betrothedH781[H8794] unto an husbandH376, and a manH376 findH4672[H8804] her in the cityH5892, and lieH7901 with herH8804; |
[23]If a maid be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the town and lie with her, |
[24]Then ye shall bringH3318[H8689] them bothH8147 out unto the gateH8179 of that cityH5892, and ye shall stoneH5619[H8804] them with stonesH68 that they dieH4191[H8804]; the damselH5291, becauseH834[H1697] she criedH6817[H8804] not, being in the cityH5892; and the manH376, becauseH834[H1697] he hath humbledH6031[H8765] his neighbour'sH7453 wifeH802: so thou shalt put awayH1197[H8765] evilH7451 from among youH7130. |
[24]Then shall ye bring them both out unto the gates of the same city, and shall stone them with stones to death: the maiden because she cried not, being in the city, and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbor's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you. |
[25]But if a manH376 findH4672[H8799] a betrothedH781[H8794] damselH5291 in the fieldH7704, and the manH376 forceH2388[H8689] her, and lieH7901[H8804] with her: then the manH376 only that layH7901[H8804] with her shall dieH4191:[H8804] |
[25]But if a man find a betrothed maiden in the field, and force her, and lie with her, then the man that lay with her, shall die alone: |
[26]But unto the damselH5291 thou shalt doH6213[H8799] nothingH1697; there is in the damselH5291 no sinH2399 worthy of deathH4194: for as when a manH376 risethH6965[H8799] against his neighbourH7453, and slayethH7523[H8804][H8676][H5315] him, even so is this matterH1697: |
[26]And unto the maiden thou shalt do nothing, because there is in the maiden no cause of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbor and woundeth him to death, so is this matter. |
[27]For he foundH4672[H8804] her in the fieldH7704, and the betrothedH781[H8794] damselH5291 criedH6817[H8804], and there was none to saveH3467 herH8688. |
[27]For he found her in the fields: the betrothed maiden cried, and there was no man to succor her. |
[28]If a manH376 findH4672[H8799] a damselH5291 that is a virginH1330, which is not betrothedH781[H8795], and lay holdH8610[H8804] on her, and lieH7901[H8804] H4672with her, and they be foundH8738 |
[28]If a man find a maiden that is not betrothed, and take her, and lie with her, and they be found, |
[29]Then the manH376 that layH7901[H8802] with her shall giveH5414[H8804] unto the damsel'sH5291 fatherH1 fiftyH2572 shekels of silverH3701, and she shall be his wifeH802; because he hath humbledH6031[H8765] her, he mayH3201[H8799] not put her awayH7971[H8763] all his daysH3117. |
[29]Then the man that lay with her, shall give unto the maiden's father fifty shekels of sliver: and she shall be his wife, because he hath humbled her: he cannot put her away all his life. |
[30]A manH376 shall not takeH3947[H8799] his father'sH1 wifeH802, nor discoverH1540[H8762] his father'sH1 skirtH3671. |
[30]No man shall take his father's wife, nor shall uncover his father's skirt. |
