| [2]A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart is at his left. |

| [3]Also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool. |
[3]ܘܐܵܦ ܣܲܟ̣ܠܵܐ ܡܵܐ ܕܐܵܙܲܠ ܒܐܘܼܪܚܵܐ ܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ ܚܲܣܝܼܪ. ܘܟ̣ܠ ܕܡܸܬ̣ܚܲܫܲܒ̣: ܣܲܟ̣ܠܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܗ̄ܝܼ |
| [4]If the spirit of the ruler riseth against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offenses. |
[4]ܐܸܢ ܪܘܼܚܵܐ ܕܫܲܠܝܼܛܵܐ ܬܸܣܲܩ ܥܠܲܝܟ: ܐܲܬ̣ܪܵܟ ܠܵܐ ܬܸܫܒ̇ܘܿܩ. ܡܸܛܠ ܕܐܵܣܝܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܫܵܒ̣ܩܵܐ ܚܛܵܗܹ̈ܐ ܣܲܓ̇ܝܼ̈ܐܹܐ. |
| [5]There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler: |
[5]ܐܝܼܬ̣ ܒܝܼܫܬܵܐ ܕܲܚܙܹ̇ܝܬ̣ ܬܚܹܝܬ̣ ܫܸܡܫܵܐ: ܐܲܝܟ ܛܘܼܥܝܲܝ ܕܢܸܦܩܲܬ̤ ܩܕܼܵܡ ܫܲܠܝܼܛܵܐ. |
| [6]Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. |
[6]ܕܝܵܬܹ̇ܒ̣ ܣܲܟ̣ܠܵܐ ܒܪ̈ܵܘܡܹܐ ܥܲܫܝܼܢܹ̈ܐ. ܘܥܲܬ̇ܝܼܪܹ̈ܐ ܒܡܘܼܟܵܟ̣ܵܐ ܢܸܬ̇ܒ̣ܘܼܢ. |
| [7]I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth. |
[7]ܚܙܹ̇ܝܬ̣ ܥܲܒ̣̈ܕܹ̇ܐ ܥܲܠ ܪ̈ܲܟ̣ܫܵܐ. ܘܫܲܠܝܼܛܵܢܹ̈ܐ ܕܲܡܗܲܠܟ̣ܝܼܢ ܐܲܝܟ ܥܲܒ̣̈ܕܹ̇ܐ ܥܲܠ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ. |
| [8]He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoever breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him. |
[8]ܕܚܵܦܲܪ ܓܘܼܡܵܨܵܐ: ܒܹܗ ܢܵܦܹ̇ܠ. ܘܲܕܼܬ̣ܵܪܲܥ ܣܝܵܓ̣ܵܐ: ܢܲܟ̇ܬ̣ܝܼܘܗܝ ܚܸܘܝܵܐ. |
| [9]Whoever removeth stones shall be hurt by them; and he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered by it. |
[9]ܕܲܡܫܲܢܸܐ ܟܹܐܦܹ̈ܐ: ܢܸܬ̣ܟܲܐܲܒ̣ ܒܗܹܝܢ. ܘܕܲܡܨܲܠܲܚ ܩܲܝܣܹ̈ܐ: ܠܵܐܹ̇ܐ ܒܗܘܿܢ. |
| [10]If the iron is blunt, and he doth not whet the edge, then must he use more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. |
[10]ܐܸܢ ܩܗܵܐ ܦܲܪܙܠܵܐ: ܘܗ̤ܘ ܐܲܦܹ̈ܐ ܕܵܠܲܚ ܘܲܩܛܝܼܠܹ̈ܐ ܡܲܣܓܹ̇ܐ. ܘܝܘܼܬ̣ܪܵܢܵܐ ܠܟܲܫܝܼܪܹ̈ܐ ܚܸܟ̣ܡ̱ܬ̣ܵܐ. |
| [11]Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better. |
[11]ܐܸܢ ܢܵܟܹ̇ܬ̣ ܚܸܘܝܵܐ ܕܠܵܐ ܠܘܼܚܫܬ̣ܵܐ: ܠܲܝܬ̇ ܝܘܼܬ̣ܪܵܢ ܒܠܵܚܘܿܫܵܐ. |
| [12]The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. |
[12]ܡܸܠܲܝ̈ ܦܘܼܡܹܗ ܕܚܲܟ̇ܝܼܡܵܐ ܬܸܫܒ̇ܘܿܚܬܵܐ. ܘܣܸܦ̈ܘܵܬܹܗ ܕܣܲܟ̣ܠܵܐ ܡܛܲܒ̇ܥܵܢ ܠܹܗ. |
| [13]The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. |
[13]ܪܹܫ ܡܸܠܲܝ̈ ܦܘܼܡܹܗ ܣܲܟ̣ܠܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ. ܘܚܲܪܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܦܘܼܡܹܗ ܦܘܼܪܣܵܝܵܐ ܒܝܼܫܵܐ. |
| [14]A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? |
[14]ܘܣܲܟ̣ܠܵܐ ܡܲܣܓܸ̇ܐ ܡܸܠ̈ܝܼܢ. ܠܵܐ ܝܵܕܲܥ ܒܲܪܢܵܫܵܐ ܡܵܐ ܕܲܗܘ̤ܵܐ. ܘܡܵܐ ܕܢܸܗܘܹܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܒܵܬ̣ܪܹܗ ܡܲܢ̣ܘܼ ܡܚܵܘܸܐ ܠܹܗ. |
| [15]The labor of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. |
[15]ܥܲܡ̱ܠܗܘܿܢ ܕܣܲܟ̣̈ܠܹܐ ܡܲܠܐܸܐ ܠܗܘܿܢ. ܡܸܛܠ ܕܠܵܐ ܝܼܕܲܥ̣ܘ ܠܡܹܐܙܲܠ ܠܲܡܕܼܝܼܢ̄ܬܵܐ. |
| [16]Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! |
[16]ܘܵܝ ܠܹܟ̣ܝ ܡܕܼܝܼܢ̄ܬܵܐ ܕܡܲܠܟܹ̇ܟ̣ܝ ܛܠܸܐ. ܘܪܵܘ̱ܪ̈ܒ̣ܵܢܲܝܟ̇ܝ ܒܨܲܦܪܵܐ ܐܲܟ̣ܠܝܼܢ. |
| [17]Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! |
[17]ܛܘܼܒܲܝܟ̇ܝ ܡܕܼܝܼܢ̄ܬܵܐ ܕܡܲܠܟܹ̇ܟ̣ܝ ܒܲܪ ܚܹܐܪ̈ܝܼܢ. ܘܪܵܘ̱ܪ̈ܒ̣ܵܢܲܝܟ̇ܝ ܒܥܸܕܵܢܗܘܿܢ ܐܲܟ̣ܠܝܼܢ: ܒܟܲܫܝܼܪܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܘܠܵܐ ܒܡܲܫܬ̇ܝܵܐ. |
| [18]By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through. |
[18]ܒܫܲܦܠܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܢܸܬ̣ܡܲܟܲܟ ܬܲܛܠܝܼܠܵܐ. ܘܲܒ̣ܫܲܦܠܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܐܝܼܕܲܝܵܐ ܢܸܕܼܠܲܦ ܒܲܝܬܵܐ. |
| [19]A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. |
[19]ܠܚܲܕܼܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܥܒ̣ܝܼܕܼܝܼܢ ܠܲܚܡܵܐ ܘܚܲܡܪܵܐ ܘܡܸܫܚܵܐ ܕܲܢܚܲܕ̇ܘܿܢ ܠܚܲܝܹ̈ܐ. ܘܟܸܣܦܵܐ ܡܡܲܟܸ̇ܟ: ܘܡܲܛܥܸܐ ܠܗܘܿܢ ܒܟ̣ܠ. |
| [20]Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bed-chamber: for a bird of the air will carry the voice, and that which hath wings will tell the matter. |
[20]ܐܵܦ ܒܡܲܕ̇ܥܵܟ ܠܡܲܠܟܵܐ ܠܵܐ ܬܨܲܚܸܐ. ܘܲܒ̣ܩܲܝܛܘܿܢ ܡܲܫܟ̇ܒ̣ܵܟ ܠܵܐ ܬܨܲܚܸܐ ܠܥܲܬ̇ܝܼܪܵܐ. ܡܸܛܠ ܕܥܵܘܦܵܐ ܕܲܫܡܲܝܵܐ ܢܵܘܒܸ̇ܠ ܩܵܠܵܟܘ ܘܡܵܪܹܐ ܥܵܘܦܵܐ ܢܚܵܘܸܐ ܦܸܬ̣ܓ̣ܵܡܲܝ̈ܟ. |
