| [1]τούτου χάριν ἐγὼ παῦλος ὁ δέσμιος τοῦ χριστοῦ [ἰησοῦ] ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν _ |
[1]For this cause, I Paul am the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, |
| [2]εἴ γε ἠκούσατε τὴν οἰκονομίαν τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ τῆς δοθείσης μοι εἰς ὑμᾶς, |
[2]If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God, which is given me to you-ward, |
| [3][ὅτι] κατὰ ἀποκάλυψιν ἐγνωρίσθη μοι τὸ μυστήριον, καθὼς προέγραψα ἐν ὀλίγῳ, |
[3]That is, that God by revelation hath showed this mystery unto me (as I wrote above in few words, |
| [4]πρὸς ὃ δύνασθε ἀναγινώσκοντες νοῆσαι τὴν σύνεσίν μου ἐν τῶ μυστηρίῳ τοῦ χριστοῦ, |
[4]Whereby when ye read, ye may know mine understanding in the mystery of Christ) |
| [5]ὃ ἑτέραις γενεαῖς οὐκ ἐγνωρίσθη τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὡς νῦν ἀπεκαλύφθη τοῖς ἁγίοις ἀποστόλοις αὐτοῦ καὶ προφήταις ἐν πνεύματι, |
[5]Which in other ages was not opened unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy Apostles and Prophets by the Spirit, |
| [6]εἶναι τὰ ἔθνη συγκληρονόμα καὶ σύσσωμα καὶ συμμέτοχα τῆς ἐπαγγελίας ἐν χριστῶ ἰησοῦ διὰ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου, |
[6]That the Gentiles should be inheritors also, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the Gospel, |
| [7]οὖ ἐγενήθην διάκονος κατὰ τὴν δωρεὰν τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ τῆς δοθείσης μοι κατὰ τὴν ἐνέργειαν τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ. |
[7]Whereof I am made a minister by the gift of the grace of God given unto me through the working of his power. |
| [8]ἐμοὶ τῶ ἐλαχιστοτέρῳ πάντων ἁγίων ἐδόθη ἡ χάρις αὕτη, τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εὐαγγελίσασθαι τὸ ἀνεξιχνίαστον πλοῦτος τοῦ χριστοῦ, |
[8]Even unto me the least of all Saints is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, |
| [9]καὶ φωτίσαι [πάντας] τίς ἡ οἰκονομία τοῦ μυστηρίου τοῦ ἀποκεκρυμμένου ἀπὸ τῶν αἰώνων ἐν τῶ θεῶ τῶ τὰ πάντα κτίσαντι, |
[9]And to make clear unto all men what the fellowship of the mystery is, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who hath created all things by Jesus Christ, |
| [10]ἵνα γνωρισθῇ νῦν ταῖς ἀρχαῖς καὶ ταῖς ἐξουσίαις ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις διὰ τῆς ἐκκλησίας ἡ πολυποίκιλος σοφία τοῦ θεοῦ, |
[10]To the intent, that now unto principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the Church the manifold wisdom of God, |
| [11]κατὰ πρόθεσιν τῶν αἰώνων ἣν ἐποίησεν ἐν τῶ χριστῶ ἰησοῦ τῶ κυρίῳ ἡμῶν, |
[11]According to the eternal purpose, which he wrought in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
| [12]ἐν ᾧ ἔχομεν τὴν παρρησίαν καὶ προσαγωγὴν ἐν πεποιθήσει διὰ τῆς πίστεως αὐτοῦ. |
[12]By whom we have boldness and entrance with confidence, by faith in him. |
| [13]διὸ αἰτοῦμαι μὴ ἐγκακεῖν ἐν ταῖς θλίψεσίν μου ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν, ἥτις ἐστὶν δόξα ὑμῶν. |
[13]Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for your sakes, which is your glory. |
| [14]τούτου χάριν κάμπτω τὰ γόνατά μου πρὸς τὸν πατέρα, |
[14]For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| [15]ἐξ οὖ πᾶσα πατριὰ ἐν οὐρανοῖς καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς ὀνομάζεται, |
[15](Of whom is named the whole family in heaven and in earth) |
| [16]ἵνα δῶ ὑμῖν κατὰ τὸ πλοῦτος τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ δυνάμει κραταιωθῆναι διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν ἔσω ἄνθρωπον, |
[16]That he might grant you according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened by his Spirit in the inner man, |
| [17]κατοικῆσαι τὸν χριστὸν διὰ τῆς πίστεως ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν, ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἐρριζωμένοι καὶ τεθεμελιωμένοι, |
[17]That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, |
| [18]ἵνα ἐξισχύσητε καταλαβέσθαι σὺν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἁγίοις τί τὸ πλάτος καὶ μῆκος καὶ ὕψος καὶ βάθος, |
[18]May be able to comprehend with all Saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height: |
| [19]γνῶναί τε τὴν ὑπερβάλλουσαν τῆς γνώσεως ἀγάπην τοῦ χριστοῦ, ἵνα πληρωθῆτε εἰς πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ θεοῦ. |
[19]And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled with all fullness of God. |
| [20]τῶ δὲ δυναμένῳ ὑπὲρ πάντα ποιῆσαι ὑπερεκπερισσοῦ ὧν αἰτούμεθα ἢ νοοῦμεν κατὰ τὴν δύναμιν τὴν ἐνεργουμένην ἐν ἡμῖν, |
[20]Unto him therefore that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, |
| [21]αὐτῶ ἡ δόξα ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ καὶ ἐν χριστῶ ἰησοῦ εἰς πάσας τὰς γενεὰς τοῦ αἰῶνος τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν. |
[21]Be praise in the Church by Christ Jesus, throughout all generations forever, Amen. |
