[1]Then sangH7891[H8799] MosesH4872 and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 this songH7892 unto the LORDH3068, and spakeH559[H8799], sayingH559[H8800], I will singH7891[H8799] unto the LORDH3068, for he hath triumphedH1342[H8804] gloriouslyH1342[H8800]: the horseH5483 and his riderH7392[H8802] hath he thrownH7411[H8804] into the seaH3220. |
[1]THEN Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, saying, I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. |
[2]The LORDH3050 is my strengthH5797 and songH2176, and he is become my salvationH3444: heH2088 is my GodH410, and I will prepare him an habitationH5115[H8686]; my father'sH1 GodH430, and I will exaltH7311 himH8787. |
[2]He is mighty and glorious, The LORD JEHOVAH has become our Saviour; he is our God, and we will praise him; our father's God, and we will exalt him. |
[3]The LORDH3068 is a manH376 of warH4421: the LORDH3068 is his nameH8034. |
[3]The LORD is a mighty warrior: the LORD is his name. |
[4]Pharaoh'sH6547 chariotsH4818 and his hostH2428 hath he castH3384[H8804] into the seaH3220: his chosenH4005 captainsH7991 also are drownedH2883[H8795] in the RedH5488 seaH3220. |
[4]Pharaoh's chariots and his host he cast into the sea; his valiant men also are drowned in the Red Sea. |
[5]The depthsH8415 have coveredH3680[H8762] them: they sankH3381[H8804] into the bottomH4688 asH3644 a stoneH68. |
[5]The depths have covered them; they sank to the bottom like stones. |
[6]Thy right handH3225, O LORDH3068, is become gloriousH142[H8737] in powerH3581: thy right handH3225, O LORDH3068, hath dashed in piecesH7492[H8799] the enemyH341.[H8802] |
[6]Thy right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power; thy right hand, O LORD, has defeated thy enemies. |
[7]And in the greatnessH7230 of thine excellencyH1347 thou hast overthrownH2040[H8799] them that rose up againstH6965[H8801] thee: thou sentest forthH7971[H8762] thy wrathH2740, which consumedH398[H8799] them as stubbleH7179. |
[7]And in the greatness of thy might thou hast overthrown them that hate thee; thou sentest thy wrath, and it consumed them like stubble. |
[8]And with the blastH7307 of thy nostrilsH639 the watersH4325 were gathered togetherH6192[H8738], the floodsH5140[H8802] stood uprightH5324[H8738] as an heapH5067, and the depthsH8415 were congealedH7087[H8804] in the heartH3820 of the seaH3220. |
[8]And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters piled up, the floods stood up as if it were in sheepskins; the waves gathered in heaps in the heart of the sea. |
[9]The enemyH341[H8802] saidH559[H8804], I will pursueH7291[H8799], I will overtakeH5381[H8686], I will divideH2505[H8762] the spoilH7998; my lustH5315 shall be satisfiedH4390[H8799] upon them; I will drawH7324[H8686] my swordH2719, my handH3027 shall destroyH3423 themH8686. |
[9]The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my soul will devour them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. |
[10]Thou didst blowH5398[H8804] with thy windH7307, the seaH3220 coveredH3680[H8765] them: they sankH6749[H8804] as leadH5777 in the mightyH117 watersH4325. |
[10]Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them; they sank as lead in the mighty waters. |
[11]Who is like unto thee, O LORDH3068, among the godsH410? who is like thee, gloriousH142[H8737] in holinessH6944, fearfulH3372[H8737] in praisesH8416, doingH6213[H8802] wondersH6382? |
[11]Who is like unto thee, O LORD? Who is like unto thee, glorious in his holiness, revered and praised, doing wonders? |
[12]Thou stretchedst outH5186[H8804] thy right handH3225, the earthH776 swallowedH1104 themH8799. |
[12]Thou didst lift up thy right hand, the earth swallowed them. |
[13]Thou in thy mercyH2617 hast led forthH5148[H8804] the peopleH5971 whichH2098 thou hast redeemedH1350[H8804]: thou hast guidedH5095[H8765] them in thy strengthH5797 unto thy holyH6944 habitationH5116. |
[13]Thou in thy mercy hast led forth this people whom thou hast saved; thou hast guided them in thy strength to thy holy habitation. |
[14]The peopleH5971 shall hearH8085[H8804], and be afraidH7264[H8799]: sorrowH2427 shall take holdH270[H8804] on the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of PalestinaH6429. |
[14]The people heard and they trembled; fear took hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. |
[15]ThenH227 the dukesH441 of EdomH123 shall be amazedH926[H8738]; the mighty menH352 of MoabH4124, tremblingH7461 shall take holdH270[H8799] upon them; all the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of CanaanH3667 shall melt awayH4127.[H8738] |
[15]Then the princes of Edom were afraid; the mighty men of Moab, trembling seized them; all the inhabitants of Canaan were heartbroken. |
[16]FearH367 and dreadH6343 shall fallH5307[H8799] upon them; by the greatnessH1419 of thine armH2220 they shall be as stillH1826[H8799] as a stoneH68; till thy peopleH5971 pass overH5674[H8799], O LORDH3068, till the peopleH5971 pass overH5674[H8799], whichH2098 thou hast purchasedH7069.[H8804] |
[16]Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall sink as stones, till thy people, O LORD, pass over; till this people whom thou hast saved pass over. |
[17]Thou shalt bringH935[H8686] them in, and plantH5193[H8799] them in the mountainH2022 of thine inheritanceH5159, in the placeH4349, O LORDH3068, which thou hast madeH6466[H8804] for thee to dwell inH3427[H8800], in the SanctuaryH4720, O LordH136, which thy handsH3027 have establishedH3559.[H8790] |
[17]Thou shalt bring them in and plant them on the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in; even thy sanctuary, O LORD; establish it by thy hands. |
[18]The LORDH3068 shall reignH4427[H8799] for everH5769 and everH5703. |
[18]The LORD shall reign for ever and ever. |
[19]For the horseH5483 of PharaohH6547 went inH935[H8804] with his chariotsH7393 and with his horsemenH6571 into the seaH3220, and the LORDH3068 brought againH7725[H8686] the watersH4325 of the seaH3220 upon them; but the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 wentH1980[H8804] on dryH3004 land in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220. |
[19]For the horses of Pharaoh, with his chariots and his horsemen, went through the sea, and the LORD brought back the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel walked on the dry land in the midst of the sea. |
[20]And MiriamH4813 the prophetessH5031, the sisterH269 of AaronH175, tookH3947[H8799] a timbrelH8596 in her handH3027; and all the womenH802 went outH3318[H8799] afterH310 her with timbrelsH8596 and with dancesH4246. |
[20]Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with timbrels. |
[21]And MiriamH4813 answeredH6030[H8799] them, SingH7891[H8798] ye to the LORDH3068, for he hath triumphedH1342[H8804] gloriouslyH1342[H8800]; the horseH5483 and his riderH7392[H8802] hath he thrownH7411[H8804] into the seaH3220. |
[21]And Miriam answered them, Sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea |
[22]So MosesH4872 broughtH5265[H8686] IsraelH3478 from the RedH5488 seaH3220, and they went outH3318[H8799] into the wildernessH4057 of ShurH7793; and they wentH3212[H8799] threeH7969 daysH3117 in the wildernessH4057, and foundH4672[H8804] no waterH4325. |
[22]So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shud; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. |
[23]And when they cameH935[H8799] to MarahH4785, they couldH3201[H8804] not drinkH8354[H8800] of the watersH4325 of MarahH4785, for they were bitterH4751: therefore the nameH8034 of it was calledH7121[H8804] MarahH4785. |
[23]And when they came to Morath, they could not drink the waters of Morath, for they were bitter; therefore the name of the place was called Morath. |
[24]And the peopleH5971 murmuredH3885[H8735] against MosesH4872, sayingH559[H8800], What shall we drinkH8354?[H8799] |
[24]And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? |
[25]And he criedH6817[H8799] unto the LORDH3068; and the LORDH3068 shewedH3384[H8686] him a treeH6086, which when he had castH7993[H8686] into the watersH4325, the watersH4325 were made sweetH4985[H8799]: there he madeH7760[H8804] for them a statuteH2706 and an ordinanceH4941, and there he provedH5254 themH8765, |
[25]And Moses prayed before the LORD; and the LORD showed him a tree, and when he cast it into the water, the water became sweet; there the LORD taught him laws and ordinances, and there he tested him, |
[26]And saidH559[H8799], If thou wilt diligentlyH8085[H8800] hearkenH8085[H8799] to the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, and wilt doH6213[H8799] that which is rightH3477 in his sightH5869, and wilt give earH238[H8689] to his commandmentsH4687, and keepH8104[H8804] all his statutesH2706, I will putH7760[H8799] none of these diseasesH4245 upon thee, which I have broughtH7760[H8804] upon the EgyptiansH4714: for I am the LORDH3068 that healethH7495 theeH8802. |
[26]And said to him, If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God and will do that which is right in his sight and will obey his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will bring none of these plagues upon you which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the LORD your Healer. |
[27]And they cameH935[H8799] to ElimH362, where were twelveH8147[H6240] wellsH5869 of waterH4325, and threescore and tenH7657 palm treesH8558: and they encampedH2583[H8799] there by the watersH4325. |
[27]And they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there by the water |
