| [1]וַיַּ֤עַן מֹשֶׁה֙ וַיֹּ֔אמֶר וְהֵן֙ לֹֽא־יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לִ֔י וְלֹ֥א יִשְׁמְע֖וּ בְּקֹלִ֑י כִּ֣י יֹֽאמְר֔וּ לֹֽא־נִרְאָ֥ה אֵלֶ֖יךָ יְהוָֽה׃ |
[1]And MosesH4872 answeredH6030[H8799] and saidH559[H8799], But, behold, they will not believeH539[H8686] me, nor hearkenH8085[H8799] unto my voiceH6963: for they will sayH559[H8799], The LORDH3068 hath not appearedH7200 unto theeH8738. |
| [2]וַיֹּ֧אמֶר אֵלָ֛יו יְהוָ֖ה [מַזֶּה כ] (מַה־זֶּ֣ה ק) בְיָדֶ֑ךָ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר מַטֶּֽה׃ |
[2]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto him, What is that in thine handH3027? And he saidH559[H8799], A rodH4294. |
| [3]וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הַשְׁלִיכֵ֣הוּ אַ֔רְצָה וַיַּשְׁלִיכֵ֥הוּ אַ֖רְצָה וַיְהִ֣י לְנָחָ֑שׁ וַיָּ֥נָס מֹשֶׁ֖ה מִפָּנָֽיו׃ |
[3]And he saidH559[H8799], CastH7993[H8685] it on the groundH776. And he castH7993[H8686] it on the groundH776, and it became a serpentH5175; and MosesH4872 fledH5127[H8799] from before itH6440. |
| [4]וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה שְׁלַח֙ יָֽדְךָ֔ וֶאֱחֹ֖ז בִּזְנָבֹ֑ו וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח יָדֹו֙ וַיַּ֣חֲזֶק בֹּ֔ו וַיְהִ֥י לְמַטֶּ֖ה בְּכַפֹּֽו׃ |
[4]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, Put forthH7971[H8798] thine handH3027, and takeH270[H8798] it by the tailH2180. And he put forthH7971[H8799] his handH3027, and caughtH2388[H8686] it, and it became a rodH4294 in his handH3709: |
| [5]לְמַ֣עַן יַאֲמִ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־נִרְאָ֥ה אֵלֶ֛יךָ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתָ֑ם אֱלֹהֵ֧י אַבְרָהָ֛ם אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִצְחָ֖ק וֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃ |
[5]That they may believeH539[H8686] that the LORDH3068 GodH430 of their fathersH1, the GodH430 of AbrahamH85, the GodH430 of IsaacH3327, and the GodH430 of JacobH3290, hath appearedH7200 unto theeH8738. |
| [6]וַיֹּאמֶר֩ יְהוָ֨ה לֹ֜ו עֹ֗וד הָֽבֵא־נָ֤א יָֽדְךָ֙ בְּחֵיקֶ֔ךָ וַיָּבֵ֥א יָדֹ֖ו בְּחֵיקֹ֑ו וַיֹּ֣וצִאָ֔הּ וְהִנֵּ֥ה יָדֹ֖ו מְצֹרַ֥עַת כַּשָּֽׁלֶג׃ |
[6]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] furthermoreH5750 unto him, PutH935[H8685] now thine handH3027 into thy bosomH2436. And he putH935[H8686] his handH3027 into his bosomH2436: and when he tookH3318[H8686] it out, behold, his handH3027 was leprousH6879[H8794] as snowH7950. |
| [7]וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הָשֵׁ֤ב יָֽדְךָ֙ אֶל־חֵיקֶ֔ךָ וַיָּ֥שֶׁב יָדֹ֖ו אֶל־חֵיקֹ֑ו וַיֹּֽוצִאָהּ֙ מֵֽחֵיקֹ֔ו וְהִנֵּה־שָׁ֖בָה כִּבְשָׂרֹֽו׃ |
[7]And he saidH559[H8799], PutH7725 thine handH3027 into thy bosomH2436 againH7725[H8685]. And he putH7725 his handH3027 into his bosomH2436 againH7725[H8686]; and pluckedH3318[H8686] it out of his bosomH2436, and, behold, it was turned againH7725[H8804] as his other fleshH1320. |
| [8]וְהָיָה֙ אִם־לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לָ֔ךְ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁמְע֔וּ לְקֹ֖ל הָאֹ֣ת הָרִאשֹׁ֑ון וְהֶֽאֱמִ֔ינוּ לְקֹ֖ל הָאֹ֥ת הָאַחֲרֹֽון׃ |
[8]And it shall come to pass, if they will not believeH539[H8686] thee, neither hearkenH8085[H8799] to the voiceH6963 of the firstH7223 signH226, that they will believeH539[H8689] the voiceH6963 of the latterH314 signH226. |
| [9]וְהָיָ֡ה אִם־לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֡ינוּ גַּם֩ לִשְׁנֵ֨י הָאֹתֹ֜ות הָאֵ֗לֶּה וְלֹ֤א יִשְׁמְעוּן֙ לְקֹלֶ֔ךָ וְלָקַחְתָּ֙ מִמֵּימֵ֣י הַיְאֹ֔ר וְשָׁפַכְתָּ֖ הַיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה וְהָי֤וּ הַמַּ֙יִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּקַּ֣ח מִן־הַיְאֹ֔ר וְהָי֥וּ לְדָ֖ם בַּיַּבָּֽשֶׁת׃ |
[9]And it shall come to pass, if they will not believeH539[H8686] also these twoH8147 signsH226, neither hearkenH8085[H8799] unto thy voiceH6963, that thou shalt takeH3947[H8804] of the waterH4325 of the riverH2975, and pourH8210[H8804] it upon the dryH3004 land: and the waterH4325 which thou takestH3947[H8799] out of the riverH2975 shall become bloodH1818 upon the dry landH3006. |
| [10]וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶל־יְהוָה֮ בִּ֣י אֲדֹנָי֒ לֹא֩ אִ֨ישׁ דְּבָרִ֜ים אָנֹ֗כִי גַּ֤ם מִתְּמֹול֙ גַּ֣ם מִשִּׁלְשֹׁ֔ם גַּ֛ם מֵאָ֥ז דַּבֶּרְךָ אֶל־עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ כִּ֧י כְבַד־פֶּ֛ה וּכְבַ֥ד לָשֹׁ֖ון אָנֹֽכִי׃ |
[10]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799] unto the LORDH3068, OH994 my LordH136, IH376 am not eloquentH1697, neither heretoforeH8032[H8543], nor sinceH227 thou hast spokenH1696[H8763] unto thy servantH5650: but I am slowH3515 of speechH6310, and of a slowH3515 tongueH3956. |
| [11]וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלָ֗יו מִ֣י שָׂ֣ם פֶּה֮ לָֽאָדָם֒ אֹ֚ו מִֽי־יָשׂ֣וּם אִלֵּ֔ם אֹ֣ו חֵרֵ֔שׁ אֹ֥ו פִקֵּ֖חַ אֹ֣ו עִוֵּ֑ר הֲלֹ֥א אָנֹכִ֖י יְהוָֽה׃ |
[11]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto him, Who hath madeH7760[H8804] man'sH120 mouthH6310? or who makethH7760[H8799] the dumbH483, or deafH2795, or the seeingH6493, or the blindH5787? have not I the LORDH3068? |
| [12]וְעַתָּ֖ה לֵ֑ךְ וְאָנֹכִי֙ אֶֽהְיֶ֣ה עִם־פִּ֔יךָ וְהֹורֵיתִ֖יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּדַבֵּֽר׃ |
[12]Now therefore goH3212[H8798], and I will be with thy mouthH6310, and teachH3384[H8689] thee what thou shalt sayH1696.[H8762] |
| [13]וַיֹּ֖אמֶר בִּ֣י אֲדֹנָ֑י שְֽׁלַֽח־נָ֖א בְּיַד־תִּשְׁלָֽח׃ |
[13]And he saidH559[H8799], OH994 my LordH136, sendH7971[H8798], I pray thee, by the handH3027 of him whom thou wilt sendH7971.[H8799] |
| [14]וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֨ף יְהוָ֜ה בְּמֹשֶׁ֗ה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הֲלֹ֨א אַהֲרֹ֤ן אָחִ֙יךָ֙ הַלֵּוִ֔י יָדַ֕עְתִּי כִּֽי־דַבֵּ֥ר יְדַבֵּ֖ר ה֑וּא וְגַ֤ם הִנֵּה־הוּא֙ יֹצֵ֣א לִקְרָאתֶ֔ךָ וְרָאֲךָ֖ וְשָׂמַ֥ח בְּלִבֹּֽו׃ |
[14]And the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 was kindledH2734[H8799] against MosesH4872, and he saidH559[H8799], Is not AaronH175 the LeviteH3881 thy brotherH251? I knowH3045[H8804] that he can speakH1696[H8762] wellH1696[H8763]. And also, behold, he cometh forthH3318[H8802] to meetH7125[H8800] thee: and when he seethH7200[H8804] thee, he will be gladH8055[H8804] in his heartH3820. |
| [15]וְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֔יו וְשַׂמְתָּ֥ אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים בְּפִ֑יו וְאָנֹכִ֗י אֶֽהְיֶ֤ה עִם־פִּ֙יךָ֙ וְעִם־פִּ֔יהוּ וְהֹורֵיתִ֣י אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֵ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֽׂוּן׃ |
[15]And thou shalt speakH1696[H8765] unto him, and putH7760[H8804] wordsH1697 in his mouthH6310: and I will be with thy mouthH6310, and with his mouthH6310, and will teachH3384[H8689] you what ye shall doH6213.[H8799] |
| [16]וְדִבֶּר־ה֥וּא לְךָ֖ אֶל־הָעָ֑ם וְהָ֤יָה הוּא֙ יִֽהְיֶה־לְּךָ֣ לְפֶ֔ה וְאַתָּ֖ה תִּֽהְיֶה־לֹּ֥ו לֵֽאלֹהִֽים׃ |
[16]And he shall be thy spokesmanH1696[H8765] unto the peopleH5971: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouthH6310, and thou shalt be to him instead of GodH430. |
| [17]וְאֶת־הַמַּטֶּ֥ה הַזֶּ֖ה תִּקַּ֣ח בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֶׂה־בֹּ֖ו אֶת־הָאֹתֹֽת׃ |
[17]And thou shalt takeH3947[H8799] this rodH4294 in thine handH3027, wherewith thou shalt doH6213[H8799] signsH226. |
| [18]וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ מֹשֶׁ֜ה וַיָּ֣שָׁב ׀ אֶל־יֶ֣תֶר חֹֽתְנֹ֗ו וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לֹו֙ אֵ֣לְכָה נָּ֗א וְאָשׁ֙וּבָה֙ אֶל־אַחַ֣י אֲשֶׁר־בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם וְאֶרְאֶ֖ה הַעֹודָ֣ם חַיִּ֑ים וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יִתְרֹ֛ו לְמֹשֶׁ֖ה לֵ֥ךְ לְשָׁלֹֽום׃ |
[18]And MosesH4872 wentH3212[H8799] and returnedH7725[H8799] to JethroH3500 his father in lawH2859[H8802], and saidH559[H8799] unto him, Let me goH3212[H8799], I pray thee, and returnH7725[H8799] unto my brethrenH251 which are in EgyptH4714, and seeH7200[H8799] whether they be yetH5750 aliveH2416. And JethroH3503 saidH559[H8799] to MosesH4872, GoH3212[H8798] in peaceH7965. |
| [19]וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ בְּמִדְיָ֔ן לֵ֖ךְ שֻׁ֣ב מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּי־מֵ֙תוּ֙ כָּל־הָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים הַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֖ים אֶת־נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ |
[19]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872 in MidianH4080, GoH3212[H8798], returnH7725[H8798] into EgyptH4714: for all the menH582 are deadH4191[H8804] which soughtH1245[H8764] thy lifeH5315. |
| [20]וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶת־אִשְׁתֹּ֣ו וְאֶת־בָּנָ֗יו וַיַּרְכִּבֵם֙ עַֽל־הַחֲמֹ֔ר וַיָּ֖שָׁב אַ֣רְצָה מִצְרָ֑יִם וַיִּקַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־מַטֵּ֥ה הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּיָדֹֽו׃ |
[20]And MosesH4872 tookH3947[H8799] his wifeH802 and his sonsH1121, and setH7392[H8686] them upon an assH2543, and he returnedH7725[H8799] to the landH776 of EgyptH4714: and MosesH4872 tookH3947[H8799] the rodH4294 of GodH430 in his handH3027. |
| [21]וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָה֮ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֒ בְּלֶכְתְּךָ֙ לָשׁ֣וּב מִצְרַ֔יְמָה רְאֵ֗ה כָּל־הַמֹּֽפְתִים֙ אֲשֶׁר־שַׂ֣מְתִּי בְיָדֶ֔ךָ וַעֲשִׂיתָ֖ם לִפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֑ה וַאֲנִי֙ אֲחַזֵּ֣ק אֶת־לִבֹּ֔ו וְלֹ֥א יְשַׁלַּ֖ח אֶת־הָעָֽם׃ |
[21]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, When thou goestH3212[H8800] to returnH7725[H8800] into EgyptH4714, seeH7200[H8798] that thou doH6213[H8804] all those wondersH4159 beforeH6440 PharaohH6547, which I have putH7760[H8804] in thine handH3027: but I will hardenH2388[H8762] his heartH3820, that he shall not let the peopleH5971 goH7971.[H8762] |
| [22]וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֑ה כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה בְּנִ֥י בְכֹרִ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ |
[22]And thou shalt sayH559[H8804] unto PharaohH6547, Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068, IsraelH3478 is my sonH1121, even my firstbornH1060: |
| [23]וָאֹמַ֣ר אֵלֶ֗יךָ שַׁלַּ֤ח אֶת־בְּנִי֙ וְיַֽעַבְדֵ֔נִי וַתְּמָאֵ֖ן לְשַׁלְּחֹ֑ו הִנֵּה֙ אָנֹכִ֣י הֹרֵ֔ג אֶת־בִּנְךָ֖ בְּכֹרֶֽךָ׃ |
[23]And I sayH559[H8799] unto thee, Let my sonH1121 goH7971[H8761], that he may serveH5647[H8799] me: and if thou refuseH3985[H8762] to let him goH7971[H8763], behold, I will slayH2026[H8802] thy sonH1121, even thy firstbornH1060. |
| [24]וַיְהִ֥י בַדֶּ֖רֶךְ בַּמָּלֹ֑ון וַיִּפְגְּשֵׁ֣הוּ יְהוָ֔ה וַיְבַקֵּ֖שׁ הֲמִיתֹֽו׃ |
[24]And it came to pass by the wayH1870 in the innH4411, that the LORDH3068 metH6298[H8799] him, and soughtH1245[H8762] to killH4191 himH8687. |
| [25]וַתִּקַּ֨ח צִפֹּרָ֜ה צֹ֗ר וַתִּכְרֹת֙ אֶת־עָרְלַ֣ת בְּנָ֔הּ וַתַּגַּ֖ע לְרַגְלָ֑יו וַתֹּ֕אמֶר כִּ֧י חֲתַן־דָּמִ֛ים אַתָּ֖ה לִֽי׃ |
[25]Then ZipporahH6855 tookH3947[H8799] a sharp stoneH6864, and cut offH3772[H8799] the foreskinH6190 of her sonH1121, and castH5060[H8686] it at his feetH7272, and saidH559[H8799], Surely a bloodyH1818 husband art thou to meH2860. |
| [26]וַיִּ֖רֶף מִמֶּ֑נּוּ אָ֚ז אָֽמְרָ֔ה חֲתַ֥ן דָּמִ֖ים לַמּוּלֹֽת׃ |
[26]So he let him goH7503[H8799]: then she saidH559[H8804], A bloodyH1818 husbandH2860 thou art, because of the circumcisionH4139. |
| [27]וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן לֵ֛ךְ לִקְרַ֥את מֹשֶׁ֖ה הַמִּדְבָּ֑רָה וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ וַֽיִּפְגְּשֵׁ֛הוּ בְּהַ֥ר הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים וַיִּשַּׁק־לֹֽו׃ |
[27]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] to AaronH175, GoH3212[H8798] into the wildernessH4057 to meetH7125[H8800] MosesH4872. And he wentH3212[H8799], and metH6298[H8799] him in the mountH2022 of GodH430, and kissedH5401 himH8799. |
| [28]וַיַּגֵּ֤ד מֹשֶׁה֙ לְאַֽהֲרֹ֔ן אֵ֛ת כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר שְׁלָחֹ֑ו וְאֵ֥ת כָּל־הָאֹתֹ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּֽהוּ׃ |
[28]And MosesH4872 toldH5046[H8686] AaronH175 all the wordsH1697 of the LORDH3068 who had sentH7971[H8804] him, and all the signsH226 which he had commandedH6680 himH8765. |
| [29]וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ מֹשֶׁ֖ה וְאַהֲרֹ֑ן וַיַּ֣אַסְפ֔וּ אֶת־כָּל־זִקְנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ |
[29]And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 wentH3212[H8799] and gathered togetherH622[H8799] all the eldersH2205 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: |
| [30]וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אַהֲרֹ֔ן אֵ֚ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָאֹתֹ֖ת לְעֵינֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃ |
[30]And AaronH175 spakeH1696[H8762] all the wordsH1697 which the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696[H8765] unto MosesH4872, and didH6213[H8799] the signsH226 in the sightH5869 of the peopleH5971. |
| [31]וַֽיַּאֲמֵ֖ן הָעָ֑ם וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֡וּ כִּֽי־פָקַ֨ד יְהוָ֜ה אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְכִ֤י רָאָה֙ אֶת־עָנְיָ֔ם וַֽיִּקְּד֖וּ וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּֽוּ ׃ |
[31]And the peopleH5971 believedH539[H8686]: and when they heardH8085[H8799] that the LORDH3068 had visitedH6485[H8804] the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, and that he had lookedH7200[H8804] upon their afflictionH6040, then they bowed their headsH6915[H8799] and worshippedH7812.[H8691] |
