[1]Then the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, |
[1]And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, |
[2]In the first day of the first month in the very first of the same month shalt thou set up the tabernacle, called the tabernacle of the congregation: |
[2]On the first day of the first month, at the new moon, thou shalt set up the tabernacle of witness, |
[3]And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the veil. |
[3]and thou shalt place in it the ark of the testimony, and shalt cover the ark with the veil, |
[4]Also thou shalt bring in the table, and set it in order as it doth require: thou shalt also bring in the candlestick, and light his lamps, |
[4]and thou shalt bring in the table and shalt set forth that which is to be set forth on it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick and place its lamps on it. |
[5]And thou shalt set the incense altar of gold before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging at the door of the tabernacle. |
[5]And thou shalt place the golden altar, to burn incense before the ark; and thou shalt put a covering of a veil on the door of the tabernacle of witness. |
[6]Moreover, thou shalt set the burnt offering altar before the door of the tabernacle, called the tabernacle of the congregation. |
[6]And thou shalt put the altar of burnt-offerings by the doors of the tabernacle of witness, and thou shalt set up the tabernacle round about, and thou shalt hallow all that belongs to it round about. |
[7]And thou shalt set the laver between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and put water therein. |
7[No verse] |
[8]Then thou shalt appoint the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate. |
8[No verse] |
[9]After, thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and hallow it with all the instruments thereof, that it may be holy. |
[9]And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and shalt anoint the tabernacle, and all things in it; and shalt sanctify it, and all its furniture, and it shall be holy. |
[10]And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his instruments, and shalt sanctify the altar, that it may be an altar most holy. |
[10]And thou shalt anoint the altar of burnt-offerings, and all its furniture; and thou shalt hallow the altar, and the altar shall be most holy. |
[11]Also thou shalt anoint the laver, and his foot, and shalt sanctify it. |
11[No verse] |
[12]Then thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. |
[12]And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons to the doors of the tabernacle of witness, and thou shalt wash them with water. |
[13]And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and shalt anoint him, and sanctify him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. |
[13]And thou shalt put on Aaron the holy garments, and thou shalt anoint him, and thou shalt sanctify him, and he shall minister to me as priest. |
[14]Thou shalt also bring his sons, and clothe them with garments, |
[14]And thou shalt bring up his sons, and shalt put garments on them. |
[15]And shalt anoint them as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall be a sign, that the priesthood shall be everlasting unto them throughout their generations. |
[15]And thou shalt anoint them as thou didst anoint their father, and they shall minister to me as priests; and it shall be that they shall have an everlasting anointing of priesthood, throughout their generations. |
[16]So Moses did according to all that the Lord had commanded him: so did he. |
[16]And Moses did all things whatsoever the Lord commanded him, so did he. |
[17]Thus was the tabernacle reared up the first day of the first month in the second year. |
[17]And it came to pass in the first month, in the second year after their going forth out of Egypt, at the new moon, that the tabernacle was set up. |
[18]Then Moses reared up the tabernacle and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars of it, and reared up his pillars. |
[18]And Moses set up the tabernacle, and put on the chapiters, and put the bars into their places, and set up the posts. |
[19]And he spread the covering over the tabernacle, and put the covering of that covering on high above it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
[19]And he stretched out the curtains over the tabernacle, and put the veil of the tabernacle on it above as the Lord commanded Moses. |
[20]And he took and put the testimony in the ark, and put the bars in the rings of the ark, and set the mercy seat on high upon the ark. |
[20]And he took the testimonies, and put them into the ark; and he put the staves by the sides of the ark. |
[21]He brought also the ark into the tabernacle, and hanged up the covering veil, and covered the ark of the testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
[21]And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and put on it the covering of the veil, and covered the ark of the testimony, as the Lord commanded Moses. |
[22]Furthermore he put the table in the tabernacle of the congregation in the north side of the tabernacle, without the veil, |
[22]And he put the table in the tabernacle of witness, on the north side without the veil of the tabernacle. |
[23]And set the bread in order before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
[23]And he put on it the shewbread before the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses. |
[24]Also he put the candlestick in the tabernacle of the congregation, over against the table toward the south side of the tabernacle. |
[24]And he put the candlestick into the tabernacle of witness, on the side of the tabernacle toward the south. |
[25]And he lighted the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
[25]And he put on it its lamps before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
[26]Moreover he set the golden altar in the tabernacle of the congregation before the veil, |
[26]And he put the golden altar in the tabernacle of witness before the veil; |
[27]And burnt sweet incense thereon, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
[27]and he burnt on it incense of composition, as the Lord commanded Moses. |
[28]Also he hanged up the veil at the door of the tabernacle. |
28[No verse] |
[29]After, he set the burnt offering altar without the door of the tabernacle, called the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered the burnt offering and the sacrifice thereon, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
[29]And he put the altar of the burnt-offerings by the doors of the tabernacle. |
[30]Likewise he set the laver between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and poured water therein to wash with. |
30[No verse] |
[31]So Moses and Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat. |
[31]And he set up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar; and Moses accomplished all the works. |
[32]When they went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and when they approached to the altar, they washed, as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
32[No verse] |
[33]Finally, he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and hanged up the veil at the court gate: so Moses finished the work. |
33[No verse] |
[34]Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. |
[34]And the cloud covered the tabernacle of witness, and the tabernacle was filled with the glory of the Lord. |
[35]So Moses could not enter into the tabernacle of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. |
[35]And Moses was not able to enter into the tabernacle of testimony, because the cloud overshadowed it, and the tabernacle was filled with the glory of the Lord. |
[36]Now when the cloud ascended up from the tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward in all their journeys. |
[36]And when the cloud went up from the tabernacle, the children of Israel prepared to depart with their baggage. |
[37]But if the cloud ascended not, then they journeyed not till the day that it ascended. |
[37]And if the cloud went not up, they did not prepare to depart, till the day when the cloud went up. |
[38]For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. |
[38]For a cloud was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night before all Israel, in all their journeyings. |
