[3]ואמרת כה אמר אדני יהוה לירושלם מכרתיך ומלדתיך מארץ הכנעני אביך האמרי ואמך חתית |

[4]ומולדותיך ביום הולדת אותך לא כרת שרך ובמים לא רחצת למשעי והמלח לא המלחת והחתל לא חתלת |

[6]ואעבר עליך ואראך מתבוססת בדמיך ואמר לך בדמיך חיי ואמר לך בדמיך חיי |

[7]רבבה כצמח השדה נתתיך ותרבי ותגדלי ותבאי בעדי עדיים שדים נכנו ושערך צמח ואת ערם ועריה |

[8]ואעבר עליך ואראך והנה עתך עת דדים ואפרש כנפי עליך ואכסה ערותך ואשבע לך ואבוא בברית אתך נאם אדני יהוה־ותהיי לי |

[9]וארחצך במים ואשטף דמיך מעליך ואסכך בשמן |

[10]ואלבישך רקמה ואנעלך תחש ואחבשך בשש ואכסך משי |

[11]ואעדך עדי ואתנה צמידים על ידיך ורביד על גרונך |
| [12]And I putH5414[H8799] a jewelH5141 on thy foreheadH639, and earringsH5694 in thine earsH241, and a beautifulH8597 crownH5850 upon thine headH7218. |
[12]ואתן נזם על אפך ועגילים על אזניך ועטרת תפארת בראשך |

[13]ותעדי זהב וכסף ומלבושך ששי [Q: שש] ומשי ורקמה סלת ודבש ושמן אכלתי [Q: אכלת] ותיפי במאד מאד ותצלחי למלוכה |

[14]ויצא לך שם בגוים ביפיך כי כליל הוא בהדרי אשר שמתי עליך־נאם אדני יהוה |
| [15]But thou didst trustH982[H8799] in thine own beautyH3308, and playedst the harlotH2181[H8799] because of thy renownH8034, and pouredst outH8210[H8799] thy fornicationsH8457 on every one that passed byH5674; his it wasH8802. |
[15]ותבטחי ביפיך ותזני על שמך ותשפכי את תזנותיך על כל עובר לו יהי |
| [16]And of thy garmentsH899 thou didst takeH3947[H8799], and deckedstH6213[H8799] thy high placesH1116 with divers coloursH2921[H8803], and playedst the harlotH2181[H8799] thereupon: the like things shall not comeH935, neither shall it be soH8802. |
[16]ותקחי מבגדיך ותעשי לך במות טלאות ותזני עליהם לא באות ולא יהיה |
| [17]Thou hast also takenH3947[H8799] thy fairH8597 jewelsH3627 of my goldH2091 and of my silverH3701, which I had givenH5414[H8804] thee, and madestH6213[H8799] to thyself imagesH6754 of menH2145, and didst commit whoredomH2181 with themH8799, |
[17]ותקחי כלי תפארתך מזהבי ומכספי אשר נתתי לך ותעשי לך צלמי זכר ותזני בם |
| [18]And tookestH3947[H8799] thy broideredH7553 garmentsH899, and coveredstH3680[H8762] them: and thou hast setH5414[H8804] mine oilH8081 and mine incenseH7004 before themH6440. |
[18]ותקחי את בגדי רקמתך ותכסים ושמני וקטרתי נתתי [Q: נתת] לפניהם |

[19]ולחמי אשר נתתי לך סלת ושמן ודבש האכלתיך ונתתיהו לפניהם לריח ניחח ויהי נאם אדני יהוה |
| [20]Moreover thou hast takenH3947[H8799] thy sonsH1121 and thy daughtersH1323, whom thou hast borneH3205[H8804] unto me, and these hast thou sacrificedH2076[H8799] unto them to be devouredH398[H8800]. Is this of thy whoredomsH8457 a small matterH4592, |
[20]ותקחי את בניך ואת בנותיך אשר ילדת לי ותזבחים להם לאכול־המעט מתזנותך [Q: מתזנותיך] |
| [21]That thou hast slainH7819[H8799] my childrenH1121, and deliveredH5414[H8799] them to cause them to pass throughH5674 the fire for themH8687? |
[21]ותשחטי את בני ותתנים בהעביר אותם להם |
| [22]And in all thine abominationsH8441 and thy whoredomsH8457 thou hast not rememberedH2142[H8804] the daysH3117 of thy youthH5271, when thou wast nakedH5903 and bareH6181, and wast pollutedH947[H8711] in thy bloodH1818. |
[22]ואת כל תועבתיך ותזנתיך לא זכרתי [Q: זכרת] את ימי נעוריך־בהיותך עירם ועריה מתבוססת בדמך היית |
| [23]And it came to pass afterH310 all thy wickednessH7451, (woeH188, woeH188 unto thee! saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069;) |
[23]ויהי אחרי כל רעתך אוי אוי לך נאם אדני יהוה |
| [24]That thou hast also builtH1129[H8799] unto thee an eminent placeH1354, and hast madeH6213[H8799] thee an high placeH7413 in every streetH7339. |
[24]ותבני לך גב ותעשי לך רמה בכל רחוב |
| [25]Thou hast builtH1129[H8804] thy high placeH7413 at every headH7218 of the wayH1870, and hast made thy beautyH3308 to be abhorredH8581[H8762], and hast openedH6589[H8762] thy feetH7272 to every one that passed byH5674[H8802], and multipliedH7235[H8686] thy whoredomsH8457. |
[25]אל כל ראש דרך בנית רמתך ותתעבי את יפיך ותפשקי את רגליך לכל עובר ותרבי את תזנותך [Q: תזנותיך] |
| [26]Thou hast also committed fornicationH2181[H8799] with the EgyptiansH1121[H4714] thy neighboursH7934, greatH1432 of fleshH1320; and hast increasedH7235[H8686] thy whoredomsH8457, to provoke me to angerH3707.[H8687] |
[26]ותזני אל בני מצרים שכניך גדלי בשר ותרבי את תזנתך להכעיסני |

[27]והנה נטיתי ידי עליך ואגרע חקך ואתנך בנפש שנאותיך בנות פלשתים־הנכלמות מדרכך זמה |
| [28]Thou hast played the whoreH2181[H8799] also with the AssyriansH1121[H804], becauseH1115 thou wast unsatiableH7646[H8804]; yea, thou hast played the harlotH2181[H8799] with them, and yet couldest not be satisfiedH7654. |
[28]ותזני אל בני אשור מבלתי שבעתך ותזנים וגם לא שבעת |
| [29]Thou hast moreover multipliedH7235[H8686] thy fornicationH8457 in the landH776 of CanaanH3667 unto ChaldeaH3778; and yet thou wast not satisfiedH7646[H8804] herewithH2063. |
[29]ותרבי את תזנותך אל ארץ כנען כשדימה וגם בזאת לא שבעת |
| [30]How weakH535[H8802] is thine heartH3826, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069, seeing thou doestH6213[H8800] all these things, the workH4639 of an imperiousH7986 whorishH2181[H8803] womanH802; |
[30]מה אמלה לבתך נאם אדני יהוה־בעשותך את כל אלה מעשה אשה זונה שלטת |
| [31]In that thou buildestH1129[H8800] thine eminent placeH1354 in the headH7218 of every wayH1870, and makestH6213[H8804] thine high placeH7413 in every streetH7339; and hast not been as an harlotH2181[H8802], in that thou scornestH7046[H8763] hireH868; |
[31]בבנותיך גבך בראש כל דרך ורמתך עשיתי [Q: עשית] בכל רחוב ולא הייתי [Q: היית] כזונה לקלס אתנן |
| [32]But as a wifeH802 that committeth adulteryH5003[H8764], which takethH3947[H8799] strangersH2114[H8801] instead of her husbandH376! |
[32]האשה המנאפת־תחת אישה תקח את זרים |
| [33]They giveH5414[H8799] giftsH5078 to all whoresH2181[H8802]: but thou givestH5414[H8804] thy giftsH5083 to all thy loversH157[H8764], and hirestH7809[H8799] them, that they may comeH935[H8800] unto thee on every sideH5439 for thy whoredomH8457. |
[33]לכל זנות יתנו נדה ואת נתת את נדניך לכל מאהביך ותשחדי אותם לבוא אליך מסביב בתזנותיך |
| [34]And the contraryH2016 is in thee from other womenH802 in thy whoredomsH8457, whereas none followethH310 thee to commit whoredomsH2181[H8795]: and in that thou givestH5414[H8800] a rewardH868, and no rewardH868 is givenH5414[H8738] unto thee, therefore thou artH1961[H8799] contraryH2016. |
[34]ויהי בך הפך מן הנשים בתזנותיך ואחריך לא זונה ובתתך אתנן ואתנן לא נתן לך־ותהי להפך |
| [35]Wherefore, O harlotH2181[H8802], hearH8085[H8798] the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068: |
[35]לכן זונה שמעי דבר יהוה |
| [36]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Because thy filthinessH5178 was poured outH8210[H8736], and thy nakednessH6172 discoveredH1540[H8735] through thy whoredomsH8457 with thy loversH157[H8764], and with all the idolsH1544 of thy abominationsH8441, and by the bloodH1818 of thy childrenH1121, which thou didst giveH5414 unto themH8804; |
[36]כה אמר אדני יהוה יען השפך נחשתך ותגלה ערותך בתזנותיך על מאהביך ועל כל גלולי תועבותיך וכדמי בניך אשר נתת להם |
| [37]Behold, therefore I will gatherH6908[H8764] all thy loversH157[H8764], with whom thou hast taken pleasureH6149[H8804], and all them that thou hast lovedH157[H8804], with all them that thou hast hatedH8130[H8804]; I will even gatherH6908[H8765] them round aboutH5439 against thee, and will discoverH1540[H8765] thy nakednessH6172 unto them, that they may seeH7200[H8804] all thy nakednessH6172. |
[37]לכן הנני מקבץ את כל מאהביך אשר ערבת עליהם ואת כל אשר אהבת על כל אשר שנאת וקבצתי אתם עליך מסביב וגליתי ערותך אלהם וראו את כל ערותך |
| [38]And I will judgeH8199[H8804] thee, as women that break wedlockH5003[H8802] and shedH8210[H8802] bloodH1818 are judgedH4941; and I will giveH5414[H8804] thee bloodH1818 in furyH2534 and jealousyH7068. |
[38]ושפטתיך משפטי נאפות ושפכת דם ונתתיך דם חמה וקנאה |
| [39]And I will also giveH5414[H8804] thee into their handH3027, and they shall throw downH2040[H8804] thine eminent placeH1354, and shall break downH5422[H8765] thy high placesH7413: they shall stripH6584[H8689] thee also of thy clothesH899, and shall takeH3947[H8804] thy fairH8597 jewelsH3627, and leaveH3240[H8689] thee nakedH5903 and bareH6181. |
[39]ונתתי אתך בידם והרסו גבך ונתצו רמתיך והפשיטו אותך בגדיך ולקחו כלי תפארתך והניחוך עירם ועריה |
| [40]They shall also bring upH5927[H8689] a companyH6951 against thee, and they shall stoneH7275[H8804] thee with stonesH68, and thrust thee throughH1333[H8765] with their swordsH2719. |
[40]והעלו עליך קהל ורגמו אותך באבן ובתקוך בחרבותם |
| [41]And they shall burnH8313[H8804] thine housesH1004 with fireH784, and executeH6213[H8804] judgmentsH8201 upon thee in the sightH5869 of manyH7227 womenH802: and I will cause thee to ceaseH7673[H8689] from playing the harlotH2181[H8802], and thou also shalt giveH5414[H8799] no hire any moreH868. |
[41]ושרפו בתיך באש ועשו בך שפטים לעיני נשים רבות והשבתיך מזונה וגם אתנן לא תתני עוד |
| [42]So will I make my furyH2534 toward thee to restH5117[H8689], and my jealousyH7068 shall departH5493[H8804] from thee, and I will be quietH8252[H8804], and will be no more angryH3707.[H8799] |
[42]והנחתי חמתי בך וסרה קנאתי ממך ושקטתי ולא אכעס עוד |
| [43]Because thou hast not rememberedH2142[H8804] the daysH3117 of thy youthH5271, but hast frettedH7264[H8799] me in all these things; beholdH1887, therefore I also will recompenseH5414[H8804] thy wayH1870 upon thine headH7218, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069: and thou shalt not commitH6213[H8804] this lewdnessH2154 above all thine abominationsH8441. |
[43]יען אשר לא זכרתי [Q: זכרת] את ימי נעוריך ותרגזי לי בכל אלה וגם אני הא דרכך בראש נתתי נאם אדני יהוה ולא עשיתי [Q: עשית] את הזמה על כל תועבתיך |
| [44]Behold, every one that useth proverbsH4911[H8802] shall use this proverbH4911[H8799] against thee, sayingH559[H8800], As is the motherH517, so is her daughterH1323. |
[44]הנה כל המשל עליך ימשל לאמר כאמה בתה |
| [45]Thou art thy mother'sH517 daughterH1323, that lothethH1602[H8802] her husbandH376 and her childrenH1121; and thou art the sisterH269 of thy sistersH269, which lothedH1602[H8804] their husbandsH582 and their childrenH1121: your motherH517 was an HittiteH2850, and your fatherH1 an AmoriteH567. |
[45]בת אמך את געלת אישה ובניה ואחות אחותך את אשר געלו אנשיהן ובניהן־אמכן חתית ואביכן אמרי |
| [46]And thine elderH1419 sisterH269 is SamariaH8111, she and her daughtersH1323 that dwellH3427[H8802] at thy left handH8040: and thy youngerH6996 sisterH269, that dwellethH3427[H8802] at thy right handH3225, is SodomH5467 and her daughtersH1323. |
[46]ואחותך הגדולה שמרון היא ובנותיה היושבת על שמאולך ואחותך הקטנה ממך היושבת מימינך־סדם ובנותיה |
| [47]Yet hast thou not walkedH1980[H8804] after their waysH1870, nor doneH6213[H8804] after their abominationsH8441: but, as if that were a veryH6985 littleH4592[H6962][H8804] thing, thou wast corruptedH7843[H8686] more than theyH2004 in all thy waysH1870. |
[47]ולא בדרכיהן הלכת וכתועבותיהן עשיתי [Q: עשית] כמעט קט ותשחתי מהן בכל דרכיך |
| [48]As I liveH2416, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069, SodomH5467 thy sisterH269 hath not doneH6213[H8804], she nor her daughtersH1323, as thou hast doneH6213[H8804], thou and thy daughtersH1323. |
[48]חי אני נאם אדני יהוה אם עשתה סדם אחותך היא ובנותיה־כאשר עשית את ובנותיך |
| [49]Behold, this was the iniquityH5771 of thy sisterH269 SodomH5467, prideH1347, fulnessH7653 of breadH3899, and abundanceH7962 of idlenessH8252[H8687] was in her and in her daughtersH1323, neither did she strengthenH2388[H8689] the handH3027 of the poorH6041 and needyH34. |
[49]הנה זה היה עון סדם אחותך גאון שבעת לחם ושלות השקט היה לה ולבנותיה ויד עני ואביון לא החזיקה |
| [50]And they were haughtyH1361[H8799], and committedH6213[H8799] abominationH8441 beforeH6440 me: therefore I took them awayH5493[H8686] as I sawH7200 goodH8804. |
[50]ותגבהינה ותעשינה תועבה לפני ואסיר אתהן כאשר ראיתי |
| [51]Neither hath SamariaH8111 committedH2398[H8804] halfH2677 of thy sinsH2403; but thou hast multipliedH7235[H8686] thine abominationsH8441 more than theyH2007, and hast justifiedH6663[H8762] thy sistersH269 in all thine abominationsH8441 which thou hast doneH6213.[H8804] |
[51]ושמרון כחצי חטאתיך לא חטאה ותרבי את תועבותיך מהנה ותצדקי את אחותך [Q: אחותיך] בכל תועבתיך אשר עשיתי [Q: עשית] |

[52]גם את שאי כלמתך אשר פללת לאחותך בחטאתיך אשר התעבת מהן תצדקנה ממך וגם את בושי ושאי כלמתך בצדקתך אחיותך |
| [53]When I shall bring againH7725[H8804] their captivityH7622[H8675][H7622], the captivityH7622[H8675][H7622] of SodomH5467 and her daughtersH1323, and the captivityH7622[H8676][H7622] of SamariaH8111 and her daughtersH1323, then will I bring again the captivityH7622[H8675][H7622] of thy captivesH7622 in the midst of themH8432: |
[53]ושבתי את שביתהן־את שבית [Q: שבות] סדם ובנותיה ואת שבית [Q: שבות] שמרון ובנותיה ושבית [Q: ושבות] שביתיך בתוכהנה |
| [54]That thou mayest bearH5375[H8799] thine own shameH3639, and mayest be confoundedH3637[H8738] in all that thou hast doneH6213[H8804], in that thou art a comfortH5162 unto themH8763. |
[54]למען תשאי כלמתך ונכלמת מכל אשר עשית־בנחמך אתן |
| [55]When thy sistersH269, SodomH5467 and her daughtersH1323, shall returnH7725[H8799] to their former estateH6927, and SamariaH8111 and her daughtersH1323 shall returnH7725[H8799] to their former estateH6927, then thou and thy daughtersH1323 shall returnH7725[H8799] to your former estateH6927. |
[55]ואחותיך סדם ובנותיה תשבן לקדמתן ושמרון ובנותיה תשבן לקדמתן ואת ובנותיך תשבינה לקדמתכן |

[56]ולוא היתה סדם אחותך לשמועה בפיך ביום גאוניך |

[57]בטרם תגלה רעתך כמו עת חרפת בנות ארם וכל סביבותיה בנות פלשתים השאטות אותך מסביב |

[58]את זמתך ואת תועבותיך את נשאתים־נאם יהוה |

[60]וזכרתי אני את בריתי אותך בימי נעוריך והקימותי לך ברית עולם |

[61]וזכרת את דרכיך ונכלמת בקחתך את אחותיך הגדלות ממך אל הקטנות ממך ונתתי אתהן לך לבנות ולא מבריתך |
