[1]In the tenthH6224 yearH8141, in the tenthH6224 month, in the twelfthH8147[H6240] day of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me, sayingH559,[H8800] [1]In the tenth year, and in the tenth month in the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
[2]SonH1121 of manH120, setH7760[H8798] thy faceH6440 against PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and prophesyH5012[H8734] against him, and against all EgyptH4714: [2]Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.
[3]SpeakH1696[H8761], and sayH559[H8804], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Behold, I am against thee, PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, the greatH1419 dragonH8577 that liethH7257[H8802] in the midstH8432 of his riversH2975, which hath saidH559[H8804], My riverH2975 is mine own, and I have madeH6213 it for myselfH8804. [3]Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon, that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it for myself.
[4]But I will putH5414[H8804] hooksH2397[H8676][H2397] in thy jawsH3895, and I will cause the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975 to stickH1692[H8689] unto thy scalesH7193, and I will bring thee upH5927[H8689] out of the midstH8432 of thy riversH2975, and all the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975 shall stickH1692[H8799] unto thy scalesH7193. [4]But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will draw thee out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales.
[5]And I will leaveH5203[H8804] thee thrown into the wildernessH4057, thee and all the fishH1710 of thy riversH2975: thou shalt fallH5307[H8799] upon the openH6440 fieldsH7704; thou shalt not be brought togetherH622[H8735], nor gatheredH6908[H8735]: I have givenH5414[H8804] thee for meatH402 to the beastsH2416 of the fieldH776 and to the fowlsH5775 of the heavenH8064. [5]And I will leave thee in the wilderness, both thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field: thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: for I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field, and to the fowls of the heaven.
[6]And all the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of EgyptH4714 shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068, because they have been a staffH4938 of reedH7070 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. [6]And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
[7]When they took holdH8610[H8800] of thee by thy handH3709, thou didst breakH7533[H8735], and rendH1234[H8804] all their shoulderH3802: and when they leanedH8172[H8736] upon thee, thou brakestH7665[H8735], and madest all their loinsH4975 to be at a standH5976.[H8689] [7]When they took hold of thee with their hand, thou didst break, and rent all their shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou breakest and madest all their loins to stand upright.
[8]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Behold, I will bringH935[H8688] a swordH2719 upon thee, and cut offH3772[H8689] manH120 and beast out of theeH929. [8]Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and destroy man and beast out of thee,
[9]And the landH776 of EgyptH4714 shall be desolateH8077 and wasteH2723; and they shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068: because he hath saidH559[H8804], The riverH2975 is mine, and I have madeH6213 itH8804. [9]And the land of Egypt shall be desolate, and waste, and they shall know that I am the Lord: because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it,
[10]Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy riversH2975, and I will makeH5414[H8804] the landH776 of EgyptH4714 utterlyH2721 wasteH2723 and desolateH8077, from the towerH4024 of SyeneH5482 even unto the borderH1366 of EthiopiaH3568. [10]Behold, therefore I come upon thee, and upon thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate from the tower of Syene, even unto the borders of the black Moors [Ethiopians].
[11]No footH7272 of manH120 shall pass throughH5674[H8799] it, nor footH7272 of beastH929 shall pass throughH5674[H8799] it, neither shall it be inhabitedH3427[H8799] fortyH705 yearsH8141. [11]No foot of man shall pass by it, nor foot of beast shall pass by it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.
[12]And I will makeH5414[H8804] the landH776 of EgyptH4714 desolateH8077 in the midstH8432 of the countriesH776 that are desolateH8074[H8737], and her citiesH5892 amongH8432 the citiesH5892 that are laid wasteH2717[H8716] shall be desolateH8077 fortyH705 yearsH8141: and I will scatterH6327[H8689] the EgyptiansH4714 among the nationsH1471, and will disperseH2219[H8765] them through the countriesH776. [12]And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities shall be desolate among the cities that are desolate, for forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
[13]Yet thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; At the endH7093 of fortyH705 yearsH8141 will I gatherH6908[H8762] the EgyptiansH4714 from the peopleH5971 whither they were scatteredH6327:[H8738] [13]Yet thus saith the Lord God, At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people, where they were scattered,
[14]And I will bring againH7725[H8804] the captivityH7622 of EgyptH4714, and will cause them to returnH7725[H8689] into the landH776 of PathrosH6624, into the landH776 of their habitationH4351; and they shall be there a baseH8217 kingdomH4467. [14]And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation, and they shall be there a small kingdom.
[15]It shall be the basestH8217 of the kingdomsH4467; neither shall it exaltH5375[H8691] itself any more above the nationsH1471: for I will diminishH4591[H8689] them, that they shall no more ruleH7287[H8800] over the nationsH1471. [15]It shall be the smallest of the kingdoms, neither shall it exalt itself anymore above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule the nations.
[16]And it shall be no more the confidenceH4009 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, which bringethH2142 their iniquityH5771 to remembranceH2142[H8688], when they shall lookH6437[H8800] afterH310 them: but they shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LordH136 GODH3069. [16]And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, to bring their iniquity to remembrance by looking after them, so shall they know, that I am the Lord God.
[17]And it came to pass in the sevenH7651 and twentiethH6242 yearH8141, in the firstH7223 month, in the firstH259 day of the monthH2320, the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me, sayingH559,[H8800] [17]In the seven and twentieth year also in the first month, and in the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord unto me, saying,
[18]SonH1121 of manH120, NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 causedH5647 his armyH2428 to serveH5647[H8689] a greatH1419 serviceH5656 against TyrusH6865: every headH7218 was made baldH7139[H8716], and every shoulderH3802 was peeledH4803[H8803]: yet had he no wagesH7939, nor his armyH2428, for TyrusH6865, for the serviceH5656 that he had servedH5647 against itH8804: [18]Son of man, Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was made bare: yet had he no wages, nor his army for Tyre, for the service that he served against it.
[19]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Behold, I will giveH5414[H8802] the landH776 of EgyptH4714 unto NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894; and he shall takeH5375[H8804] her multitudeH1995, and takeH7997[H8804] her spoilH7998, and takeH962[H8804] her preyH957; and it shall be the wagesH7939 for his armyH2428. [19]Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchad-nezzar the king of Babylon, and he shall take her multitude, and spoil her spoil, and take her prey, and it shall be the wages for his army.
[20]I have givenH5414[H8804] him the landH776 of EgyptH4714 for his labourH6468 wherewith he servedH5647[H8804] against it, because they wroughtH6213[H8804] for me, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. [20]I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor that he served against it, because they wrought for me.
[21]In that dayH3117 will I causeH6779 the hornH7161 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 to bud forthH6779[H8686], and I will giveH5414[H8799] thee the openingH6610 of the mouthH6310 in the midstH8432 of them; and they shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. [21]In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to grow, and I will give thee an open mouth in the midst of them, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
