[1]Then he brought me toward the gate of the outward sanctuary, which turneth toward the east, and it was shut. |
| [2]Then saidH559[H8799] the LORDH3068 unto me; This gateH8179 shall be shutH5462[H8803], it shall not be openedH6605[H8735], and no manH376 shall enterH935[H8799] in by it; because the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, hath enteredH935[H8804] in by it, therefore it shall be shutH5462.[H8803] |
[2]Then said the Lord unto me, This gate shall be shut, and shall not be opened, and no man shall enter by it, because the Lord God of Israel hath entered by it, and it shall be shut. |
| [3]It is for the princeH5387; the princeH5387, he shall sitH3427[H8799] in it to eatH398[H8800] breadH3899 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068; he shall enterH935[H8799] by the wayH1870 of the porchH197 of that gateH8179, and shall go outH3318[H8799] by the way of the sameH1870. |
[3]It appertaineth to the prince: the prince himself shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord: he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same. |
| [4]Then broughtH935[H8686] he me the wayH1870 of the northH6828 gateH8179 beforeH6440 the houseH1004: and I lookedH7200[H8799], and, behold, the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 filledH4390[H8804] the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068: and I fellH5307[H8799] upon my faceH6440. |
[4]Then brought he me toward the north gate before the house: and when I looked, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord, and I fell upon my face. |
| [5]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto me, SonH1121 of manH120, markH7760[H8798] wellH3820, and beholdH7200[H8798] with thine eyesH5869, and hearH8085[H8798] with thine earsH241 all that I sayH1696[H8764] unto thee concerning all the ordinancesH2708 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, and all the lawsH8451 thereof; and markH7760[H8804] wellH3820 the entering inH3996 of the houseH1004, with every going forthH4161 of the sanctuaryH4720. |
[5]And the Lord said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, all that I say unto thee, concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord, and all the laws thereof, and mark well the entering in of the house with every going forth of the sanctuary, |
| [6]And thou shalt sayH559[H8804] to the rebelliousH4805, even to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; O ye houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, let it sufficeH7227 you of all your abominationsH8441, |
[6]And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God, O house of Israel, ye have enough of all your abominations, |
| [7]In that ye have broughtH935[H8687] into my sanctuary strangersH1121[H5236], uncircumcisedH6189 in heartH3820, and uncircumcisedH6189 in fleshH1320, to be in my sanctuaryH4720, to polluteH2490[H8763] it, even my houseH1004, when ye offerH7126[H8687] my breadH3899, the fatH2459 and the bloodH1818, and they have brokenH6565[H8686] my covenantH1285 becauseH413 of all your abominationsH8441. |
[7]Seeing that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute mine house, when ye offer my bread, even fat, and blood: and they have broken my covenant, because of all your abominations. |
| [8]And ye have not keptH8104[H8804] the chargeH4931 of mine holy thingsH6944: but ye have setH7760[H8799] keepersH8104[H8802] of my chargeH4931 in my sanctuary for yourselvesH4720. |
[8]For ye have not kept the ordinances of mine holy things: but you yourselves have set others to take the charge of my sanctuary. |
| [9]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; No strangerH1121[H5236], uncircumcisedH6189 in heartH3820, nor uncircumcisedH6189 in fleshH1320, shall enterH935[H8799] into my sanctuaryH4720, of any stranger that is amongH8432 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. |
[9]Thus saith the Lord God, No stranger uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel, |
| [10]And the LevitesH3881 that are gone away farH7368[H8804] from me, when IsraelH3478 went astrayH8582[H8800], which went astray awayH8582[H8804] from me afterH310 their idolsH1544; they shall even bearH5375[H8804] their iniquityH5771. |
[10]Neither yet the Levites that are gone back from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray from me after their idols, but they shall bear their iniquity. |
| [11]Yet they shall be ministersH8334[H8764] in my sanctuaryH4720, having chargeH6486 at the gatesH8179 of the houseH1004, and ministeringH8334[H8764] to the houseH1004: they shall slayH7819[H8799] the burnt offeringH5930 and the sacrificeH2077 for the peopleH5971, and they shall standH5975[H8799] beforeH6440 them to ministerH8334 unto themH8763. |
[11]And they shall serve in my sanctuary, and keep the gates of the house, and minister in the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people: and they shall stand before them to serve them. |
| [12]Because they ministeredH8334[H8762] unto them beforeH6440 their idolsH1544, and caused the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 to fallH4383 into iniquityH5771; therefore have I lifted upH5375[H8804] mine handH3027 against them, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069, and they shall bearH5375[H8804] their iniquityH5771. |
[12]Because they served before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity, therefore have I lift up mine hand against them, saith the Lord God, and they shall bear their iniquity, |
| [13]And they shall not come nearH5066[H8799] unto me, to do the office of a priestH3547[H8763] unto me, nor to come nearH5066[H8800] to any of my holy thingsH6944, in the most holyH6944 place: but they shall bearH5375[H8804] their shameH3639, and their abominationsH8441 which they have committedH6213.[H8804] |
[13]And they shall not come near unto me to do the office of the priest unto me, neither shall they come near unto any of mine holy things in the most holy place, but they shall bear their shame and their abominations, which they have committed. |
| [14]But I will makeH5414[H8804] them keepersH8104[H8802] of the chargeH4931 of the houseH1004, for all the serviceH5656 thereof, and for all that shall be doneH6213 thereinH8735. |
[14]And I will make them keepers of the watch of the house, for all the service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein. |
| [15]But the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881, the sonsH1121 of ZadokH6659, that keptH8104[H8804] the chargeH4931 of my sanctuaryH4720 when the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 went astrayH8582[H8800] from me, they shall come nearH7126[H8799] to me to ministerH8334[H8763] unto me, and they shall standH5975[H8804] beforeH6440 me to offerH7126[H8687] unto me the fatH2459 and the bloodH1818, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069: |
[15]But the priests of the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary, when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to serve me, and they shall stand before me to offer me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God. |
| [16]They shall enterH935[H8799] into my sanctuaryH4720, and they shall come nearH7126[H8799] to my tableH7979, to ministerH8334[H8763] unto me, and they shall keepH8104[H8804] my chargeH4931. |
[16]They shall enter into my sanctuary, and shall come near to my table, to serve me, and they shall keep my charge. |
| [17]And it shall come to pass, that when they enterH935[H8800] in at the gatesH8179 of the innerH6442 courtH2691, they shall be clothedH3847[H8799] with linenH6593 garmentsH899; and no woolH6785 shall comeH5927[H8799] upon them, whiles they ministerH8334[H8763] in the gatesH8179 of the innerH6442 courtH2691, and withinH1004. |
[17]And when they shall enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments, and no wool shall come upon them while they serve in the gates of the inner court, and within. |
| [18]They shall have linenH6593 bonnetsH6287 upon their headsH7218, and shall have linenH6593 breechesH4370 upon their loinsH4975; they shall not girdH2296[H8799] themselves with any thing that causeth sweatH3154. |
[18]They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins: they shall not gird themselves in the sweating places. |
| [19]And when they go forthH3318[H8800] into the utterH2435 courtH2691, even into the utterH2435 courtH2691 to the peopleH5971, they shall put offH6584[H8799] their garmentsH899 wherein they ministeredH8334[H8764], and layH3240[H8689] them in the holyH6944 chambersH3957, and they shall putH3847[H8804] on otherH312 garmentsH899; and they shall not sanctifyH6942[H8762] the peopleH5971 with their garmentsH899. |
[19]But when they go forth into the utter court, even to the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments, wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments: for they shall not sanctify the people with their garments. |
| [20]Neither shall they shaveH1548[H8762] their headsH7218, nor suffer their locksH6545 to grow longH7971[H8762]; they shall onlyH3697[H8800] pollH3697[H8799] their headsH7218. |
[20]They shall not also shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long, but round their heads. |
| [21]Neither shall any priestH3548 drinkH8354[H8799] wineH3196, when they enterH935[H8800] into the innerH6442 courtH2691. |
[21]Neither shall any priest drink wine when they enter into the inner court. |
| [22]Neither shall they takeH3947[H8799] for their wivesH802 a widowH490, nor her that is put awayH1644[H8803]: but they shall takeH3947[H8799] maidensH1330 of the seedH2233 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, or a widowH490 that had a priest beforeH3548. |
[22]Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, or her that is divorced: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that hath been the widow of a priest. |
| [23]And they shall teachH3384[H8686] my peopleH5971 the difference between the holyH6944 and profaneH2455, and cause them to discernH3045[H8686] between the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889. |
[23]And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. |
| [24]And in controversyH7379 they shall standH5975[H8799] in judgmentH8199[H8800]; and they shall judgeH8199[H8799] it according to my judgmentsH4941: and they shall keepH8104[H8799] my lawsH8451 and my statutesH2708 in all mine assembliesH4150; and they shall hallowH6942[H8762] my sabbathsH7676. |
[24]And in controversy they shall stand to judge, and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies, and they shall sanctify my Sabbaths. |
| [25]And they shall comeH935[H8799] at no deadH4191[H8801] personH120 to defileH2930[H8800] themselves: but for fatherH1, or for motherH517, or for sonH1121, or for daughterH1323, for brotherH251, or for sisterH269 that hath had no husbandH376, they may defileH2930 themselvesH8691. |
[25]And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves, except at their father, or mother, or son, or daughter, brother or sister, that hath had yet none husband: in these may they be defiled. |
| [26]And afterH310 he is cleansedH2893, they shall reckonH5608[H8799] unto him sevenH7651 daysH3117. |
[26]And when he is cleansed, they shall reckon unto him seven days. |
| [27]And in the dayH3117 that he goethH935[H8800] into the sanctuaryH6944, unto the innerH6442 courtH2691, to ministerH8334[H8763] in the sanctuaryH6944, he shall offerH7126[H8686] his sin offeringH2403, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[27]And when he goeth into the sanctuary unto the inner court to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, saith the Lord God. |
| [28]And it shall be unto them for an inheritanceH5159: I am their inheritanceH5159: and ye shall giveH5414[H8799] them no possessionH272 in IsraelH3478: I am their possessionH272. |
[28]And the priesthood shall be their inheritance, yea, I am their inheritance: therefore shall ye give them no possession in Israel, for I am their possession. |
| [29]They shall eatH398[H8799] the meat offeringH4503, and the sin offeringH2403, and the trespass offeringH817; and every dedicated thingH2764 in Israel shall be theirsH3478. |
[29]They shall eat the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering, and every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs. |
| [30]And the firstH7225 of all the firstfruitsH1061 of all things, and every oblationH8641 of all, of every sort of your oblationsH8641, shall be the priest'sH3548: ye shall also giveH5414[H8799] unto the priestH3548 the firstH7225 of your doughH6182, that he may cause the blessingH1293 to restH5117[H8687] in thine houseH1004. |
[30]And all the first of all the first born, and every oblation, even all of every sort of your oblations shall be the priests. Ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house. |
| [31]The priestsH3548 shall not eatH398[H8799] of any thing that is dead of itselfH5038, or tornH2966, whether it be fowlH5775 or beastH929. |
[31]The priests shall not eat of anything, that is dead, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast. |
