| [1]כִּי יְרַחֵם יְהוָה אֶת־יַעֲקֹב וּבָחַר עֹוד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וְהִנִּיחָם עַל־אַדְמָתָם וְנִלְוָה הַגֵּר עֲלֵיהֶם וְנִסְפְּחוּ עַל־בֵּית יַעֲקֹב׃ |
[1]For the LORDH3068 will have mercyH7355[H8762] on JacobH3290, and will yet chooseH977[H8804] IsraelH3478, and setH3240[H8689] them in their own landH127: and the strangersH1616 shall be joinedH3867[H8738] with them, and they shall cleaveH5596[H8738] to the houseH1004 of JacobH3290. |
| [2]וּלְקָחוּם עַמִּים וֶהֱבִיאוּם אֶל־מְקֹוםָם וְהִתְנַחֲלוּם בֵּית־יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל אַדְמַת יְהוָה לַעֲבָדִים וְלִשְׁפָחֹות וְהָיוּ שֹׁבִים לְשֹׁבֵיהֶם וְרָדוּ בְּנֹגְשֵׂיהֶם׃ |

| [3]וְהָיָה בְּיֹום הָנִיחַ יְהוָה לְךָ מֵעָצְבְּךָ וּמֵרָגְזֶךָ וּמִן־הָעֲבֹדָה הַקָּשָׁה אֲשֶׁר עֻבַּד־בָּךְ׃ |
[3]And it shall come to pass in the dayH3117 that the LORDH3068 shall give thee restH5117[H8687] from thy sorrowH6090, and from thy fearH7267, and from the hardH7186 bondageH5656 H5647wherein thou wast made to serveH8795 |
| [4]וְנָשָׂאתָ הַמָּשָׁל הַזֶּה עַל־מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וְאָמָרְתָּ אֵיךְ שָׁבַת נֹגֵשׂ שָׁבְתָה מַדְהֵבָה׃ |
[4]That thou shalt take upH5375[H8804] this proverbH4912 against the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and sayH559[H8804], How hath the oppressorH5065[H8802] ceasedH7673[H8804]! the golden cityH4062 H7673ceasedH8804 |
| [5]שָׁבַר יְהוָה מַטֵּה רְשָׁעִים שֵׁבֶט מֹשְׁלִים׃ |
[5]The LORDH3068 hath brokenH7665[H8804] the staffH4294 of the wickedH7563, and the sceptreH7626 of the rulersH4910.[H8802] |
| [6]מַכֶּה עַמִּים בְּעֶבְרָה מַכַּת בִּלְתִּי סָרָה רֹדֶה בָאַף גֹּויִם מֻרְדָּף בְּלִי חָשָׂךְ׃ |
[6]He who smoteH5221[H8688] the peopleH5971 in wrathH5678 with a continualH1115[H5627] strokeH4347, he that ruledH7287[H8802] the nationsH1471 in angerH639, is persecutedH4783, and noneH1097 hinderethH2820.[H8804] |
| [7]נָחָה שָׁקְטָה כָּל־הָאָרֶץ פָּצְחוּ רִנָּה׃ |
[7]The whole earthH776 is at restH5117[H8804], and is quietH8252[H8804]: they break forthH6476[H8804] into singingH7440. |
| [8]גַּם־בְּרֹושִׁים שָׂמְחוּ לְךָ אַרְזֵי לְבָנֹונ מֵאָז שָׁכַבְתָּ לֹא־יַעֲלֶה הַכֹּרֵת עָלֵינוּ׃ |
[8]Yea, the fir treesH1265 rejoiceH8055[H8804] at thee, and the cedarsH730 of LebanonH3844, saying, Since thou art laid downH7901[H8804], no fellerH3772[H8802] is come upH5927 against usH8799. |
| [9]שְׁאֹול מִתַּחַת רָגְזָה לְךָ לִקְרַאת בֹּואֶךָ עֹורֵר לְךָ רְפָאִים כָּל־עַתּוּדֵי אָרֶץ הֵקִים מִכִּסְאֹותָם כֹּל מַלְכֵי גֹויִם׃ |
[9]HellH7585 from beneath is movedH7264[H8804] for thee to meetH7125[H8800] thee at thy comingH935[H8800]: it stirreth upH5782[H8790] the deadH7496 for thee, even all the chief onesH6260 of the earthH776; it hath raised upH6965[H8689] from their thronesH3678 all the kingsH4428 of the nationsH1471. |
| [10]כֻּלָּם יַעֲנוּ וְיֹאמְרוּ אֵלֶיךָ גַּם־אַתָּה חֻלֵּיתָ כָמֹונוּ אֵלֵינוּ נִמְשָׁלְתָּ׃ |
[10]All they shall speakH6030[H8799] and sayH559[H8799] unto thee, Art thou also become weakH2470[H8795] as we? art thou become likeH4911 unto usH8738? |
| [11]הוּרַד שְׁאֹול גְאֹונֶךָ הֶמְיַת נְבָלֶיךָ תַּחְתֶּיךָ יֻצַּע רִמָּה וּמְכַסֶּיךָ תֹּולֵעָה׃ |
[11]Thy pompH1347 is brought downH3381[H8717] to the graveH7585, and the noiseH1998 of thy violsH5035: the wormH7415 is spreadH3331[H8714] under thee, and the wormsH8438 cover theeH4374. |
| [12]אֵיךְ נָפַלְתָּ מִשָּׁמַיִם הֵילֵל בֶּן־שָׁחַר נִגְדַּעְתָּ לָאָרֶץ חֹולֵשׁ עַל־גֹּויִם׃ |
[12]How art thou fallenH5307[H8804] from heavenH8064, O LuciferH1966, sonH1121 of the morningH7837[H8676][H3213][H8685]! how art thou cut downH1438[H8738] to the groundH776, which didst weakenH2522[H8802] the nationsH1471! |
| [13]וְאַתָּה אָמַרְתָּ בִלְבָבְךָ הַשָּׁמַיִם אֶעֱלֶה מִמַּעַל לְכֹוכְבֵי־אֵל אָרִים כִּסְאִי וְאֵשֵׁב בְּהַר־מֹועֵד בְּיַרְכְּתֵי צָפֹון׃ |
[13]For thou hast saidH559[H8804] in thine heartH3824, I will ascendH5927[H8799] into heavenH8064, I will exaltH7311[H8686] my throneH3678 aboveH4605 the starsH3556 of GodH410: I will sitH3427[H8799] also upon the mountH2022 of the congregationH4150, in the sidesH3411 of the northH6828: |
| [14]אֶעֱלֶה עַל־בָּמֳתֵי עָב אֶדַּמֶּה לְעֶלְיֹון׃ |
[14]I will ascendH5927[H8799] above the heightsH1116 of the cloudsH5645; I will be likeH1819[H8691] the most HighH5945. |
| [15]אַךְ אֶל־שְׁאֹול תּוּרָד אֶל־יַרְכְּתֵי־בֹור׃ |
[15]Yet thou shalt be brought downH3381[H8714] to hellH7585, to the sidesH3411 of the pitH953. |
| [16]רֹאֶיךָ אֵלֶיךָ יַשְׁגִּיחוּ אֵלֶיךָ יִתְבֹּונָנוּ הֲזֶה הָאִישׁ מַרְגִּיז הָאָרֶץ מַרְעִישׁ מַמְלָכֹות׃ |
[16]They that seeH7200[H8802] thee shall narrowly lookH7688[H8686] upon thee, and considerH995[H8709] thee, saying, Is this the manH376 that made the earthH776 to trembleH7264[H8688], that did shakeH7493[H8688] kingdomsH4467; |
| [17]שָׂם תֵּבֵל כַּמִּדְבָּר וְעָרָיו הָרָס אֲסִירָיו לֹא־פָתַח בָּיְתָה׃ |
[17]That madeH7760[H8804] the worldH8398 as a wildernessH4057, and destroyedH2040[H8804] the citiesH5892 thereof; that openedH6605[H8804] not the houseH1004 of his prisonersH615? |
| [18]כָּל־מַלְכֵי גֹויִם כֻּלָּם שָׁכְבוּ בְכָבֹוד אִישׁ בְּבֵיתֹו׃ |
[18]All the kingsH4428 of the nationsH1471, even all of them, lieH7901[H8804] in gloryH3519, every oneH376 in his own houseH1004. |
| [19]וְאַתָּה הָשְׁלַכְתָּ מִקִּבְרְךָ כְּנֵצֶר נִתְעָב לְבוּשׁ הֲרֻגִים מְטֹעֲנֵי חָרֶב יֹורְדֵי אֶל־אַבְנֵי־בֹור כְּפֶגֶר מוּבָס׃ |
[19]But thou art cast outH7993[H8717] of thy graveH6913 like an abominableH8581[H8737] branchH5342, and as the raimentH3830 of those that are slainH2026[H8803], thrust throughH2944[H8794] with a swordH2719, that go downH3381[H8802] to the stonesH68 of the pitH953; as a carcaseH6297 trodden under feetH947.[H8716] |
| [20]לֹא־תֵחַד אִתָּם בִּקְבוּרָה כִּי־אַרְצְךָ שִׁחַתָּ עַמְּךָ הָרָגְתָּ לֹא־יִקָּרֵא לְעֹולָם זֶרַע מְרֵעִים׃ |
[20]Thou shalt not be joinedH3161[H8799] with them in burialH6900, because thou hast destroyedH7843[H8765] thy landH776, and slainH2026[H8804] thy peopleH5971: the seedH2233 of evildoersH7489[H8688] shall neverH5769 be renownedH7121.[H8735] |
| [21]הָכִינוּ לְבָנָיו מַטְבֵּחַ בַּעֲוֹן אֲבֹותָם בַּל־יָקֻמוּ וְיָרְשׁוּ אָרֶץ וּמָלְאוּ פְנֵי־תֵבֵל עָרִים׃ |
[21]PrepareH3559[H8685] slaughterH4293 for his childrenH1121 for the iniquityH5771 of their fathersH1; that they do notH1077 riseH6965[H8799], nor possessH3423[H8804] the landH776, nor fillH4390[H8804] the faceH6440 of the worldH8398 with citiesH6145[H8676].[H5892] |
| [22]וְקַמְתִּי עֲלֵיהֶם נְאֻם יְהוָה צְבָאֹות וְהִכְרַתִּי לְבָבֶל שֵׁם וּשְׁאָר וְנִין וָנֶכֶד נְאֻם־יְהוָה׃ |
[22]For I will rise upH6965[H8804] against them, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, and cut offH3772[H8689] from BabylonH894 the nameH8034, and remnantH7605, and sonH5209, and nephewH5220, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068. |
| [23]וְשַׂמְתִּיהָ לְמֹורַשׁ קִפֹּד וְאַגְמֵי־מָיִם וְטֵאטֵאתִיהָ בְּמַטְאֲטֵא הַשְׁמֵד נְאֻם יְהוָה צְבָאֹות׃ |
[23]I will also makeH7760[H8804] it a possessionH4180 for the bitternH7090, and poolsH98 of waterH4325: and I will sweepH2894[H8773] it with the besomH4292 of destructionH8045[H8687], saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. |
| [24]נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה צְבָאֹות לֵאמֹר אִם־לֹא כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּמִּיתִי כֵּן הָיָתָה וְכַאֲשֶׁר יָעַצְתִּי הִיא תָקוּם׃ |
[24]The LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 hath swornH7650[H8738], sayingH559[H8800], Surely as I have thoughtH1819[H8765], so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposedH3289[H8804], so shall it standH6965:[H8799] |
| [25]לִשְׁבֹּר אַשּׁוּר בְּאַרְצִי וְעַל־הָרַי אֲבוּסֶנּוּ וְסָר מֵעֲלֵיהֶם עֻלֹּו וְסֻבֳּלֹו מֵעַל שִׁכְמֹו יָסוּר׃ |
[25]That I will breakH7665[H8800] the AssyrianH804 in my landH776, and upon my mountainsH2022 tread him under footH947[H8799]: then shall his yokeH5923 departH5493[H8804] from off them, and his burdenH5448 departH5493[H8799] from off their shouldersH7926. |
| [26]זֹאת הָעֵצָה הַיְּעוּצָה עַל־כָּל־הָאָרֶץ וְזֹאת הַיָּד הַנְּטוּיָה עַל־כָּל־הַגֹּויִם׃ |
[26]This is the purposeH6098 that is purposedH3289[H8803] upon the whole earthH776: and this is the handH3027 that is stretched outH5186[H8803] upon all the nationsH1471. |
| [27]כִּי־יְהוָה צְבָאֹות יָעָץ וּמִי יָפֵר וְיָדֹו הַנְּטוּיָה וּמִי יְשִׁיבֶנָּה׃ |
[27]For the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 hath purposedH3289[H8804], and who shall disannulH6565[H8686] it? and his handH3027 is stretched outH5186[H8803], and who shall turn it backH7725?[H8686] |
| [28]בִּשְׁנַת־מֹות הַמֶּלֶךְ אָחָז הָיָה הַמַּשָּׂא הַזֶּה׃ |
[28]In the yearH8141 that kingH4428 AhazH271 diedH4194 was this burdenH4853. |
| [29]אַל־תִּשְׂמְחִי פְלֶשֶׁת כֻּלֵּךְ כִּי נִשְׁבַּר שֵׁבֶט מַךֵּךְ כִּי־מִשֹּׁרֶשׁ נָחָשׁ יֵצֵא צֶפַע וּפִרְיֹו שָׂרָף מְעֹוףֵף׃ |
[29]RejoiceH8055[H8799] not thou, whole PalestinaH6429, because the rodH7626 of him that smoteH5221[H8688] thee is brokenH7665[H8738]: for out of the serpent'sH5175 rootH8328 shall come forthH3318[H8799] a cockatriceH6848, and his fruitH6529 shall be a fieryH8314 flyingH5774[H8789] serpentH8314. |
| [30]וְרָעוּ בְּכֹורֵי דַלִּים וְאֶבְיֹונִים לָבֶטַח יִרְבָּצוּ וְהֵמַתִּי בָרָעָב שָׁרְשֵׁךְ וּשְׁאֵרִיתֵךְ יַהֲרֹג׃ |
[30]And the firstbornH1060 of the poorH1800 shall feedH7462[H8804], and the needyH34 shall lie downH7257[H8799] in safetyH983: and I will killH4191[H8689] thy rootH8328 with famineH7458, and he shall slayH2026[H8799] thy remnantH7611. |
| [31]הֵילִילִי שַׁעַר זַעֲקִי־עִיר נָמֹוג פְּלֶשֶׁת כֻּלֵּךְ כִּי מִצָּפֹון עָשָׁן בָּא וְאֵין בֹּודֵד בְּמֹועָדָיו׃ |
[31]HowlH3213[H8685], O gateH8179; cryH2199[H8798], O cityH5892; thou, whole PalestinaH6429, art dissolvedH4127[H8738]: for there shall comeH935[H8804] from the northH6828 a smokeH6227, and none shall be aloneH909[H8802] in his appointed timesH4151. |
| [32]וּמַה־יַּעֲנֶה מַלְאֲכֵי־גֹוי כִּי יְהוָה יִסַּד צִיֹּון וּבָהּ יֶחֱסוּ עֲנִיֵּי עַמֹּו׃ |
[32]What shall one then answerH6030[H8799] the messengersH4397 of the nationH1471? That the LORDH3068 hath foundedH3245[H8765] ZionH6726, and the poorH6041 of his peopleH5971 shall trustH2620 in itH8799. |
