| [2]וַהֲצִיקֹ֖ותִי לַֽאֲרִיאֵ֑ל וְהָיְתָ֤ה תַֽאֲנִיָּה֙ וַֽאֲנִיָּ֔ה וְהָ֥יְתָה לִּ֖י כַּאֲרִיאֵֽל׃ |
[2]Yet I will distressH6693[H8689] ArielH740, and there shall be heavinessH8386 and sorrowH592: and it shall be unto me as ArielH740. |
| [3]וְחָנִ֥יתִי כַדּ֖וּר עָלָ֑יִךְ וְצַרְתִּ֤י עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ מֻצָּ֔ב וַהֲקִֽימֹתִ֥י עָלַ֖יִךְ מְצֻרֹֽת׃ |
[3]And I will campH2583[H8804] against thee round aboutH1754, and will lay siegeH6696[H8804] against thee with a mountH4674, and I will raiseH6965[H8689] forts against theeH4694. |
| [4]וְשָׁפַלְתְּ֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ תְּדַבֵּ֔רִי וּמֵֽעָפָ֖ר תִּשַּׁ֣ח אִמְרָתֵ֑ךְ וְֽ֠הָיָה כְּאֹ֤וב מֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙ קֹולֵ֔ךְ וּמֵעָפָ֖ר אִמְרָתֵ֥ךְ תְּצַפְצֵֽף׃ |
[4]And thou shalt be brought downH8213[H8804], and shalt speakH1696[H8762] out of the groundH776, and thy speechH565 shall be lowH7817[H8735] out of the dustH6083, and thy voiceH6963 shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spiritH178, out of the groundH776, and thy speechH565 shall whisperH6850[H8770] out of the dustH6083. |
| [5]וְהָיָ֛ה כְּאָבָ֥ק דַּ֖ק הֲמֹ֣ון זָרָ֑יִךְ וּכְמֹ֤ץ עֹבֵר֙ הֲמֹ֣ון עָֽרִיצִ֔ים וְהָיָ֖ה לְפֶ֥תַע פִּתְאֹֽם׃ |
[5]Moreover the multitudeH1995 of thy strangersH2114[H8801] shall be like smallH1851 dustH80, and the multitudeH1995 of the terrible onesH6184 shall be as chaffH4671 that passeth awayH5674[H8802]: yea, it shall be at an instantH6621 suddenlyH6597. |
| [6]מֵעִ֨ם יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאֹות֙ תִּפָּקֵ֔ד בְּרַ֥עַם וּבְרַ֖עַשׁ וְקֹ֣ול גָּדֹ֑ול סוּפָה֙ וּסְעָרָ֔ה וְלַ֖הַב אֵ֥שׁ אֹוכֵלָֽה׃ |
[6]Thou shalt be visitedH6485[H8735] of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 with thunderH7482, and with earthquakeH7494, and greatH1419 noiseH6963, with stormH5492 and tempestH5591, and the flameH3851 of devouringH398[H8802] fireH784. |
| [7]וְהָיָ֗ה כַּֽחֲלֹום֙ חֲזֹ֣ון לַ֔יְלָה הֲמֹון֙ כָּל־הַגֹּויִ֔ם הַצֹּבְאִ֖ים עַל־אֲרִיאֵ֑ל וְכָל־צֹבֶ֙יהָ֙ וּמְצֹ֣דָתָ֔הּ וְהַמְּצִיקִ֖ים לָֽהּ׃ |
[7]And the multitudeH1995 of all the nationsH1471 that fightH6633[H8802] against ArielH740, even all that fightH6638[H8802] against her and her munitionH4685, and that distressH6693[H8688] her, shall be as a dreamH2472 of a nightH3915 visionH2377. |
| [8]וְהָיָ֡ה כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ יַחֲלֹ֨ם הָרָעֵ֜ב וְהִנֵּ֣ה אֹוכֵ֗ל וְהֵקִיץ֮ וְרֵיקָ֣ה נַפְשֹׁו֒ וְכַאֲשֶׁ֨ר יַחֲלֹ֤ם הַצָּמֵא֙ וְהִנֵּ֣ה שֹׁתֶ֔ה וְהֵקִיץ֙ וְהִנֵּ֣ה עָיֵ֔ף וְנַפְשֹׁ֖ו שֹׁוקֵקָ֑ה כֵּ֣ן יִֽהְיֶ֗ה הֲמֹון֙ כָּל־הַגֹּויִ֔ם הַצֹּבְאִ֖ים עַל־הַ֥ר צִיֹּֽון׃ |
[8]It shall even be as when an hungryH7457 man dreamethH2492[H8799], and, behold, he eatethH398[H8802]; but he awakethH6974[H8689], and his soulH5315 is emptyH7386: or as whenH834 a thirsty manH6771 dreamethH2492[H8799], and, behold, he drinkethH8354[H8802]; but he awakethH6974[H8689], and, behold, he is faintH5889, and his soulH5315 hath appetiteH8264[H8802]: so shall the multitudeH1995 of all the nationsH1471 be, that fightH6633[H8802] against mountH2022 ZionH6726. |
| [9]הִתְמַהְמְה֣וּ וּתְמָ֔הוּ הִשְׁתַּֽעַשְׁע֖וּ וָשֹׁ֑עוּ שָֽׁכְר֣וּ וְלֹא־יַ֔יִן נָע֖וּ וְלֹ֥א שֵׁכָֽר׃ |
[9]StayH4102[H8697] yourselves, and wonderH8539[H8798]; cry ye outH8173[H8697], and cryH8173[H8798]: they are drunkenH7937[H8804], but not with wineH3196; they staggerH5128[H8804], but not with strong drinkH7941. |
| [10]כִּֽי־נָסַ֨ךְ עֲלֵיכֶ֤ם יְהוָה֙ ר֣וּחַ תַּרְדֵּמָ֔ה וַיְעַצֵּ֖ם אֶת־עֵֽינֵיכֶ֑ם אֶת־הַנְּבִיאִ֛ים וְאֶת־רָאשֵׁיכֶ֥ם הַחֹזִ֖ים כִּסָּֽה׃ |
[10]For the LORDH3068 hath poured outH5258[H8804] upon you the spiritH7307 of deep sleepH8639, and hath closedH6105[H8762] your eyesH5869: the prophetsH5030 and your rulersH7218, the seersH2374 hath he coveredH3680.[H8765] |
| [11]וַתְּהִ֨י לָכֶ֜ם חָז֣וּת הַכֹּ֗ל כְּדִבְרֵי֮ הַסֵּ֣פֶר הֶֽחָתוּם֒ אֲשֶֽׁר־יִתְּנ֣וּ אֹתֹ֗ו אֶל־יֹודֵ֥עַ [הַסֵּפֶר כ] (סֵ֛פֶר ק) לֵאמֹ֖ר קְרָ֣א נָא־זֶ֑ה וְאָמַר֙ לֹ֣א אוּכַ֔ל כִּ֥י חָת֖וּם הֽוּא׃ |
[11]And the visionH2380 of all is become unto you as the wordsH1697 of a bookH5612 that is sealedH2856[H8803], which men deliverH5414[H8799] to one that is learnedH3045[H8802], sayingH559[H8800], ReadH7121[H8798] this, I pray thee: and he saithH559[H8804], I cannotH3201[H8799]; for it is sealedH2856:[H8803] |
| [12]וְנִתַּ֣ן הַסֵּ֗פֶר עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא־יָדַ֥ע סֵ֛פֶר לֵאמֹ֖ר קְרָ֣א נָא־זֶ֑ה וְאָמַ֕ר לֹ֥א יָדַ֖עְתִּי סֵֽפֶר׃ |
[12]And the bookH5612 is deliveredH5414[H8738] to him that is not learnedH3045[H8804][H5612], sayingH559[H8800], ReadH7121[H8798] this, I pray thee: and he saithH559[H8804], I am not learnedH3045.[H8804] |
| [13]וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲדֹנָ֗י יַ֚עַן כִּ֤י נִגַּשׁ֙ הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה בְּפִ֤יו וּבִשְׂפָתָיו֙ כִּבְּד֔וּנִי וְלִבֹּ֖ו רִחַ֣ק מִמֶּ֑נִּי וַתְּהִ֤י יִרְאָתָם֙ אֹתִ֔י מִצְוַ֥ת אֲנָשִׁ֖ים מְלֻמָּדָֽה׃ |
[13]Wherefore the LordH136 saidH559[H8799], ForasmuchH3282 as this peopleH5971 draw nearH5066[H8738] me with their mouthH6310, and with their lipsH8193 do honourH3513[H8765] me, but have removedH7368 their heartH3820 farH7368[H8765] from me, and their fearH3374 toward me is taughtH3925[H8794] by the preceptH4687 of menH582: |
| [14]לָכֵ֗ן הִנְנִ֥י יֹוסִ֛ף לְהַפְלִ֥יא אֶת־הָֽעָם־הַזֶּ֖ה הַפְלֵ֣א וָפֶ֑לֶא וְאָֽבְדָה֙ חָכְמַ֣ת חֲכָמָ֔יו וּבִינַ֥ת נְבֹנָ֖יו תִּסְתַּתָּֽר׃ |
[14]Therefore, behold, I will proceedH3254[H8802] to do a marvellous workH6381[H8687] among this peopleH5971, even a marvellous workH6381[H8687] and a wonderH6382: for the wisdomH2451 of their wiseH2450 men shall perishH6[H8804], and the understandingH998 of their prudentH995[H8737] men shall be hidH5641.[H8691] |
| [15]הֹ֛וי הַמַּעֲמִיקִ֥ים מֵֽיהוָ֖ה לַסְתִּ֣ר עֵצָ֑ה וְהָיָ֤ה בְמַחְשָׁךְ֙ מַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶ֔ם וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ מִ֥י רֹאֵ֖נוּ וּמִ֥י יֹודְעֵֽנוּ׃ |
[15]WoeH1945 unto them that seek deepH6009[H8688] to hideH5641[H8687] their counselH6098 from the LORDH3068, and their worksH4639 are in the darkH4285, and they sayH559[H8799], Who seethH7200[H8802] us? and who knowethH3045 usH8802? |
| [16]הַ֨פְכְּכֶ֔ם אִם־כְּחֹ֥מֶר הַיֹּצֵ֖ר יֵֽחָשֵׁ֑ב כִּֽי־יֹאמַ֨ר מַעֲשֶׂ֤ה לְעֹשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ לֹ֣א עָשָׂ֔נִי וְיֵ֛צֶר אָמַ֥ר לְיֹוצְרֹ֖ו לֹ֥א הֵבִֽין׃ |
[16]Surely your turning of things upside downH2017[H8800] shall be esteemedH2803[H8735] as the potter'sH3335[H8802] clayH2563: for shall the workH4639 sayH559[H8799] of him that madeH6213[H8802] it, He madeH6213[H8804] me not? or shall the thing framedH3336 sayH559[H8804] of him that framedH3335[H8802] it, He had no understandingH995?[H8689] |
| [17]הֲלֹוא־עֹוד֙ מְעַ֣ט מִזְעָ֔ר וְשָׁ֥ב לְבָנֹ֖ון לַכַּרְמֶ֑ל וְהַכַּרְמֶ֖ל לַיַּ֥עַר יֵחָשֵֽׁב׃ |
[17]Is it not yet a veryH4213 little whileH4592, and LebanonH3844 shall be turnedH7725[H8804] into a fruitful fieldH3759, and the fruitful fieldH3759 shall be esteemedH2803[H8735] as a forestH3293? |
| [18]וְשָׁמְע֧וּ בַיֹּום־הַה֛וּא הַחֵרְשִׁ֖ים דִּבְרֵי־סֵ֑פֶר וּמֵאֹ֣פֶל וּמֵחֹ֔שֶׁךְ עֵינֵ֥י עִוְרִ֖ים תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃ |
[18]And in that dayH3117 shall the deafH2795 hearH8085[H8804] the wordsH1697 of the bookH5612, and the eyesH5869 of the blindH5787 shall seeH7200[H8799] out of obscurityH652, and out of darknessH2822. |
| [19]וְיָסְפ֧וּ עֲנָוִ֛ים בַּֽיהוָ֖ה שִׂמְחָ֑ה וְאֶבְיֹונֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם בִּקְדֹ֥ושׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יָגִֽילוּ׃ |
[19]The meekH6035 also shall increaseH3254[H8804] their joyH8057 in the LORDH3068, and the poorH34 among menH120 shall rejoiceH1523[H8799] in the Holy OneH6918 of IsraelH3478. |
| [20]כִּֽי־אָפֵ֥ס עָרִ֖יץ וְכָ֣לָה לֵ֑ץ וְנִכְרְת֖וּ כָּל־שֹׁ֥קְדֵי אָֽוֶן׃ |
[20]For the terrible oneH6184 is brought to noughtH656[H8804], and the scornerH3887[H8801] is consumedH3615[H8804], and all that watchH8245[H8802] for iniquityH205 are cut offH3772:[H8738] |
| [21]מַחֲטִיאֵ֤י אָדָם֙ בְּדָבָ֔ר וְלַמֹּוכִ֥יחַ בַּשַּׁ֖עַר יְקֹשׁ֑וּן וַיַּטּ֥וּ בַתֹּ֖הוּ צַדִּֽיק׃ |
[21]That make a manH120 an offenderH2398[H8688] for a wordH1697, and lay a snareH6983[H8799] for him that reprovethH3198[H8688] in the gateH8179, and turn asideH5186[H8686] the justH6662 for a thing of noughtH8414. |
| [22]לָכֵ֗ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ית יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּדָ֖ה אֶת־אַבְרָהָ֑ם לֹֽא־עַתָּ֤ה יֵבֹושׁ֙ יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וְלֹ֥א עַתָּ֖ה פָּנָ֥יו יֶחֱוָֽרוּ׃ |
[22]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068, who redeemedH6299[H8804] AbrahamH85, concerning the houseH1004 of JacobH3290, JacobH3290 shall not now be ashamedH954[H8799], neither shall his faceH6440 now wax paleH2357.[H8799] |
| [23]כִּ֣י בִ֠רְאֹתֹו יְלָדָ֞יו מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדַ֛י בְּקִרְבֹּ֖ו יַקְדִּ֣ישֽׁוּ שְׁמִ֑י וְהִקְדִּ֙ישׁוּ֙ אֶת־קְדֹ֣ושׁ יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וְאֶת־אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יַעֲרִֽיצוּ׃ |
[23]But when he seethH7200[H8800] his childrenH3206, the workH4639 of mine handsH3027, in the midstH7130 of him, they shall sanctifyH6942[H8686] my nameH8034, and sanctifyH6942[H8689] the Holy OneH6918 of JacobH3290, and shall fearH6206[H8686] the GodH430 of IsraelH3478. |
| [24]וְיָדְע֥וּ תֹֽעֵי־ר֖וּחַ בִּינָ֑ה וְרֹוגְנִ֖ים יִלְמְדוּ־לֶֽקַח׃ |
[24]They also that erredH8582[H8802] in spiritH7307 shall comeH3045[H8804] to understandingH998, and they that murmuredH7279[H8803] shall learnH3925[H8799] doctrineH3948. |
