[1]καὶ ἐπορεύθη αβιμελεχ υἱὸς ιεροβααλ εἰς συχεμ πρὸς ἀδελφοὺς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ πρὸς πᾶσαν συγγένειαν οἴκου πατρὸς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ λέγων |
| [2]SpeakH1696[H8761], I pray you, in the earsH241 of all the menH1167 of ShechemH7927, Whether is betterH2896 for you, either that all the sonsH1121 of JerubbaalH3378, which are threescore and tenH7657 personsH376, reignH4910[H8800] over you, or that oneH259 reignH4910[H8800] over you? rememberH2142[H8804] also that I am your boneH6106 and your fleshH1320. |
[2]λαλήσατε δὴ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν πάντων τῶν ἀνδρῶν συχεμ τί τὸ ἀγαθὸν ὑμῖν κυριεῦσαι ὑμῶν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας πάντας υἱοὺς ιεροβααλ ἢ κυριεύειν ὑμῶν ἄνδρα ἕνα καὶ μνήσθητε ὅτι ὀστοῦν ὑμῶν καὶ σὰρξ ὑμῶν εἰμι |

[3]καὶ ἐλάλησαν περὶ αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν πάντων τῶν ἀνδρῶν συχεμ πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ ἔκλινεν ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν ὀπίσω αβιμελεχ ὅτι εἶπαν ἀδελφὸς ἡμῶν ἐστιν |

[4]καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ ἑβδομήκοντα ἀργυρίου ἐξ οἴκου βααλβεριθ καὶ ἐμισθώσατο ἑαυτῷ αβιμελεχ ἄνδρας κενοὺς καὶ δειλούς καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ |

[5]καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ εἰς εφραθα καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ υἱοὺς ιεροβααλ ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἐπὶ λίθον ἕνα καὶ κατελείφθη ιωαθαν υἱὸς ιεροβααλ ὁ νεώτερος ὅτι ἐκρύβη |
| [6]And all the menH1167 of ShechemH7927 gathered togetherH622[H8735], and all the houseH1004 of MilloH4407[H8677][H1037], and wentH3212[H8799], and madeH4427[H8686] AbimelechH40 kingH4428, by the plainH436 of the pillarH5324[H8716] that was in ShechemH7927. |
[6]καὶ συνήχθησαν πάντες ἄνδρες σικιμων καὶ πᾶς οἶκος βηθμααλων καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν τὸν αβιμελεχ πρὸς τῇ βαλάνῳ τῇ εὑρετῇ τῆς στάσεως τῆς ἐν σικιμοις |
| [7]And when they toldH5046[H8686] it to JothamH3147, he wentH3212[H8799] and stoodH5975[H8799] in the topH7218 of mountH2022 GerizimH1630, and lifted upH5375[H8799] his voiceH6963, and criedH7121[H8799], and saidH559[H8799] unto them, HearkenH8085[H8798] unto me, ye menH1167 of ShechemH7927, that GodH430 may hearkenH8085 unto youH8799. |
[7]καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τῷ ιωαθαν καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ κορυφὴν ὄρους γαριζιν καὶ ἐπῆρεν τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔκλαυσεν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἀκούσατέ μου ἄνδρες σικιμων καὶ ἀκούσεται ὑμῶν ὁ θεός |

[8]πορευόμενα ἐπορεύθη τὰ ξύλα τοῦ χρῖσαι ἐφ ἑαυτὰ βασιλέα καὶ εἶπον τῇ ἐλαίᾳ βασίλευσον ἐφ ἡμῶν |
| [9]But the olive treeH2132 saidH559[H8799] unto them, Should I leaveH2308[H8804] my fatnessH1880, wherewith by me they honourH3513[H8762] GodH430 and manH582, and goH1980[H8804] to be promotedH5128[H8800] over the treesH6086? |
[9]καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ ἐλαία μὴ ἀπολείψασα τὴν πιότητά μου ἐν ᾗ δοξάσουσι τὸν θεὸν ἄνδρες πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων |
| [10]And the treesH6086 saidH559[H8799] to the fig treeH8384, ComeH3212[H8798] thou, and reignH4427 over usH8798. |
[10]καὶ εἶπον τὰ ξύλα τῇ συκῇ δεῦρο βασίλευσον ἐφ ἡμῶν |
| [11]But the fig treeH8384 saidH559[H8799] unto them, Should I forsakeH2308[H8804] my sweetnessH4987, and my goodH2896 fruitH8570, and goH1980[H8804] to be promotedH5128[H8800] over the treesH6086? |
[11]καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ συκῆ μὴ ἀπολείψασα ἐγὼ τὴν γλυκύτητά μου καὶ τὰ γενήματά μου τὰ ἀγαθὰ πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων |
| [12]Then saidH559[H8799] the treesH6086 unto the vineH1612, ComeH3212[H8798] thou, and reignH4427 over usH8798. |
[12]καὶ εἶπαν τὰ ξύλα πρὸς τὴν ἄμπελον δεῦρο σὺ βασίλευσον ἐφ ἡμῶν |
| [13]And the vineH1612 saidH559[H8799] unto them, Should I leaveH2308[H8804] my wineH8492, which cheerethH8055[H8764] GodH430 and manH582, and goH1980[H8804] to be promotedH5128[H8800] over the treesH6086? |
[13]καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ ἄμπελος μὴ ἀπολείψασα τὸν οἶνόν μου τὸν εὐφραίνοντα θεὸν καὶ ἀνθρώπους πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων |
| [14]Then saidH559[H8799] all the treesH6086 unto the brambleH329, ComeH3212[H8798] thou, and reignH4427 over usH8798. |
[14]καὶ εἶπαν πάντα τὰ ξύλα τῇ ῥάμνῳ δεῦρο σὺ βασίλευσον ἐφ ἡμῶν |
| [15]And the brambleH329 saidH559[H8799] unto the treesH6086, If in truthH571 ye anointH4886[H8802] me kingH4428 over you, then comeH935[H8798] and put your trustH2620[H8798] in my shadowH6738: and if not, let fireH784 come outH3318[H8799] of the brambleH329, and devourH398[H8799] the cedarsH730 of LebanonH3844. |
[15]καὶ εἶπεν ἡ ῥάμνος πρὸς τὰ ξύλα εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ χρίετέ με ὑμεῖς τοῦ βασιλεύειν ἐφ ὑμᾶς δεῦτε ὑπόστητε ἐν τῇ σκιᾷ μου καὶ εἰ μή ἐξέλθῃ πῦρ ἀπ ἐμοῦ καὶ καταφάγῃ τὰς κέδρους τοῦ λιβάνου |
| [16]Now therefore, if ye have doneH6213[H8804] trulyH571 and sincerelyH8549, in that ye have made AbimelechH40 kingH4427[H8686], and if ye have dealtH6213[H8804] wellH2896 with JerubbaalH3378 and his houseH1004, and have doneH6213[H8804] unto him according to the deservingH1576 of his handsH3027; |
[16]καὶ νῦν εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ τελειότητι ἐποιήσατε καὶ ἐβασιλεύσατε τὸν αβιμελεχ καὶ εἰ ἀγαθωσύνην ἐποιήσατε μετὰ ιεροβααλ καὶ μετὰ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰ ὡς ἀνταπόδοσις χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐποιήσατε αὐτῷ |

[17]ὡς παρετάξατο ὁ πατήρ μου ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξέρριψεν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἐξ ἐναντίας καὶ ἐρρύσατο ὑμᾶς ἐκ χειρὸς μαδιαμ |

[18]καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπανέστητε ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός μου σήμερον καὶ ἀπεκτείνατε τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἐπὶ λίθον ἕνα καὶ ἐβασιλεύσατε τὸν αβιμελεχ υἱὸν παιδίσκης αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας σικιμων ὅτι ἀδελφὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν |
| [19]If ye then have dealtH6213[H8804] trulyH571 and sincerelyH8549 with JerubbaalH3378 and with his houseH1004 this dayH3117, then rejoiceH8055[H8798] ye in AbimelechH40, and let him also rejoiceH8055 in youH8799: |
[19]καὶ εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ τελειότητι ἐποιήσατε μετὰ ιεροβααλ καὶ μετὰ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ εὐφρανθείητε ἐν αβιμελεχ καὶ εὐφρανθείη καί γε αὐτὸς ἐφ ὑμῖν |
| [20]But if not, let fireH784 come outH3318[H8799] from AbimelechH40, and devourH398[H8799] the menH1167 of ShechemH7927, and the houseH1004 of MilloH4407[H8677][H1037]; and let fireH784 come outH3318[H8799] from the menH1167 of ShechemH7927, and from the houseH1004 of MilloH4407[H8676][H1037], and devourH398[H8799] AbimelechH40. |
[20]εἰ δὲ οὐ ἐξέλθοι πῦρ ἀπὸ αβιμελεχ καὶ φάγοι τοὺς ἄνδρας σικιμων καὶ τὸν οἶκον βηθμααλλων καὶ ἐξέλθοι πῦρ ἀπὸ ἀνδρῶν σικιμων καὶ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου βηθμααλλων καὶ καταφάγοι τὸν αβιμελεχ |
| [21]And JothamH3147 ran awayH1272[H8799], and fledH5127[H8799], and wentH3212[H8799] to BeerH876, and dweltH3427[H8799] there, for fearH6440 of AbimelechH40 his brotherH251. |
[21]καὶ ἔφυγεν ιωαθαν καὶ ἀπέδρα καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἕως βαιηρ καὶ ὤκησεν ἐκεῖ ἀπὸ προσώπου αβιμελεχ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ |
| [22]When AbimelechH40 had reignedH7786[H8799] threeH7969 yearsH8141 over IsraelH3478, |
[22]καὶ ἦρξεν αβιμελεχ ἐπὶ ισραηλ τρία ἔτη |
| [23]Then GodH430 sentH7971[H8799] an evilH7451 spiritH7307 between AbimelechH40 and the menH1167 of ShechemH7927; and the menH1167 of ShechemH7927 dealt treacherouslyH898[H8799] with AbimelechH40: |
[23]καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν ὁ θεὸς πνεῦμα πονηρὸν ἀνὰ μέσον αβιμελεχ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ἀνδρῶν σικιμων καὶ ἠθέτησαν ἄνδρες σικιμων ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αβιμελεχ |
| [24]That the crueltyH2555 done to the threescore and tenH7657 sonsH1121 of JerubbaalH3378 might comeH935[H8800], and their bloodH1818 be laidH7760[H8800] upon AbimelechH40 their brotherH251, which slewH2026[H8804] them; and upon the menH1167 of ShechemH7927, which aidedH2388[H8765][H3027] him in the killingH2026[H8800] of his brethrenH251. |
[24]τοῦ ἐπαγαγεῖν τὴν ἀδικίαν τῶν ἑβδομήκοντα υἱῶν ιεροβααλ καὶ τὰ αἵματα αὐτῶν τοῦ θεῖναι ἐπὶ αβιμελεχ τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτῶν ὃς ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτούς καὶ ἐπὶ ἄνδρας σικιμων ὅτι ἐνίσχυσαν τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ ἀποκτεῖναι τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ |

| [26]And GaalH1603 the sonH1121 of EbedH5651 cameH935[H8799] with his brethrenH251, and went overH5674[H8799] to ShechemH7927: and the menH1167 of ShechemH7927 put their confidenceH982 in himH8799. |
[26]καὶ ἦλθεν γααλ υἱὸς ιωβηλ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ παρῆλθον ἐν σικιμοις καὶ ἦλπισαν ἐν αὐτῷ οἱ ἄνδρες σικιμων |

[27]καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς ἀγρὸν καὶ ἐτρύγησαν τοὺς ἀμπελῶνας αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπάτησαν καὶ ἐποίησαν ελλουλιμ καὶ εἰσήνεγκαν εἰς οἶκον θεοῦ αὐτῶν καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον καὶ κατηράσαντο τὸν αβιμελεχ |
| [28]And GaalH1603 the sonH1121 of EbedH5651 saidH559[H8799], Who is AbimelechH40, and who is ShechemH7927, that we should serveH5647[H8799] him? is not he the sonH1121 of JerubbaalH3378? and ZebulH2083 his officerH6496? serveH5647[H8798] the menH582 of HamorH2544 the fatherH1 of ShechemH7927: for why should we serveH5647 himH8799? |
[28]καὶ εἶπεν γααλ υἱὸς ιωβηλ τίς ἐστιν αβιμελεχ καὶ τίς ἐστιν υἱὸς συχεμ ὅτι δουλεύσομεν αὐτῷ οὐχ υἱὸς ιεροβααλ καὶ ζεβουλ ἐπίσκοπος αὐτοῦ δοῦλος αὐτοῦ σὺν τοῖς ἀνδράσιν εμμωρ πατρὸς συχεμ καὶ τί ὅτι δουλεύσομεν αὐτῷ ἡμεῖς |
| [29]And would to God this peopleH5971 were underH5414[H8799] my handH3027! then would I removeH5493[H8686] AbimelechH40. And he saidH559[H8799] to AbimelechH40, IncreaseH7235[H8761] thine armyH6635, and come outH3318.[H8798] |
[29]καὶ τίς δῴη τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον ἐν χειρί μου καὶ μεταστήσω τὸν αβιμελεχ καὶ ἐρῶ πρὸς αὐτόν πλήθυνον τὴν δύναμίν σου καὶ ἔξελθε |
| [30]And when ZebulH2083 the rulerH8269 of the cityH5892 heardH8085[H8799] the wordsH1697 of GaalH1603 the sonH1121 of EbedH5651, his angerH639 was kindledH2734.[H8799] |
[30]καὶ ἤκουσεν ζεβουλ ἄρχων τῆς πόλεως τοὺς λόγους γααλ υἱοῦ ιωβηλ καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ αὐτός |
| [31]And he sentH7971[H8799] messengersH4397 unto AbimelechH40 privilyH8649, sayingH559[H8800], Behold, GaalH1603 the sonH1121 of EbedH5651 and his brethrenH251 be comeH935[H8802] to ShechemH7927; and, behold, they fortifyH6696[H8802] the city against theeH5892. |
[31]καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους πρὸς αβιμελεχ ἐν κρυφῇ λέγων ἰδοὺ γααλ υἱὸς ιωβηλ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἔρχονται εἰς συχεμ καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτοὶ περικάθηνται τὴν πόλιν ἐπὶ σέ |
| [32]Now therefore upH6965[H8798] by nightH3915, thou and the peopleH5971 that is with thee, and lie in waitH693[H8798] in the fieldH7704: |
[32]καὶ νῦν ἀναστὰς νυκτὸς σὺ καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὁ μετὰ σοῦ καὶ ἐνέδρευσον ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ |
| [33]And it shall be, that in the morningH1242, as soon as the sunH8121 is upH2224[H8800], thou shalt rise earlyH7925[H8686], and setH6584[H8804] upon the cityH5892: and, behold, when he and the peopleH5971 that is with him come outH3318[H8802] against thee, then mayest thou doH6213[H8804] to them as thouH3027 shalt find occasionH4672.[H8799] |
[33]καὶ ἔσται τὸ πρωὶ ἅμα τῷ ἀνατεῖλαι τὸν ἥλιον ὀρθριεῖς καὶ ἐκτενεῖς ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὁ μετ αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύονται πρὸς σέ καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτῷ ὅσα ἂν εὕρῃ ἡ χείρ σου |
| [34]And AbimelechH40 rose upH6965[H8799], and all the peopleH5971 that were with him, by nightH3915, and they laid waitH693[H8799] against ShechemH7927 in fourH702 companiesH7218. |
[34]καὶ ἀνέστη αβιμελεχ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς μετ αὐτοῦ νυκτὸς καὶ ἐνήδρευσαν ἐπὶ συχεμ τέτρασιν ἀρχαῖς |
| [35]And GaalH1603 the sonH1121 of EbedH5651 went outH3318[H8799], and stoodH5975[H8799] in the enteringH6607 of the gateH8179 of the cityH5892: and AbimelechH40 rose upH6965[H8799], and the peopleH5971 that were with him, from lying in waitH3993. |
[35]καὶ ἐξῆλθεν γααλ υἱὸς ιωβηλ καὶ ἔστη πρὸς τῇ θύρᾳ τῆς πύλης τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἀνέστη αβιμελεχ καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὁ μετ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἐνέδρου |
| [36]And when GaalH1603 sawH7200[H8799] the peopleH5971, he saidH559[H8799] to ZebulH2083, Behold, there comeH3381 peopleH5971 downH3381[H8802] from the topH7218 of the mountainsH2022. And ZebulH2083 saidH559[H8799] unto him, Thou seestH7200[H8802] the shadowH6738 of the mountainsH2022 as if they were menH582. |
[36]καὶ εἶδεν γααλ υἱὸς ιωβηλ τὸν λαὸν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς ζεβουλ ἰδοὺ λαὸς καταβαίνει ἀπὸ κεφαλῶν τῶν ὀρέων καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ζεβουλ τὴν σκιὰν τῶν ὀρέων σὺ βλέπεις ὡς ἄνδρας |
| [37]And GaalH1603 spakeH1696[H8763] againH3254[H8686] and saidH559[H8799], See there comeH3381 peopleH5971 downH3381[H8802] by the middleH2872 of the landH776, and anotherH259 companyH7218 comeH935[H8804] along by the plainH436 ofH1870 MeonenimH6049.[H8781] |
[37]καὶ προσέθετο ἔτι γααλ τοῦ λαλῆσαι καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ λαὸς καταβαίνων κατὰ θάλασσαν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἐχόμενα ὀμφαλοῦ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀρχὴ ἑτέρα ἔρχεται διὰ ὁδοῦ ηλωνμαωνενιμ |
| [38]Then saidH559[H8799] ZebulH2083 unto him, Where is nowH645 thy mouthH6310, wherewith thou saidstH559[H8799], Who is AbimelechH40, that we should serveH5647[H8799] him? is not this the peopleH5971 that thou hast despisedH3988[H8804]? go outH3318[H8798], I pray nowH4994, and fightH3898 with themH8734. |
[38]καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ζεβουλ καὶ ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ στόμα σου ὡς ἐλάλησας τίς ἐστιν αβιμελεχ ὅτι δουλεύσομεν αὐτῷ μὴ οὐχὶ οὗτος ὁ λαός ὃν ἐξουδένωσας ἔξελθε δὴ νῦν καὶ παράταξαι αὐτῷ |

[39]καὶ ἐξῆλθεν γααλ ἐνώπιον ἀνδρῶν συχεμ καὶ παρετάξατο πρὸς αβιμελεχ |
| [40]And AbimelechH40 chasedH7291[H8799] him, and he fledH5127[H8799] beforeH6440 him, and manyH7227 were overthrownH5307[H8799] and woundedH2491, even unto the enteringH6607 of the gateH8179. |
[40]καὶ ἐδίωξεν αὐτὸν αβιμελεχ καὶ ἔφυγεν ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔπεσαν τραυματίαι πολλοὶ ἕως τῆς θύρας τῆς πύλης |
| [41]And AbimelechH40 dweltH3427[H8799] at ArumahH725: and ZebulH2083 thrust outH1644[H8762] GaalH1603 and his brethrenH251, that they should not dwellH3427[H8800] in ShechemH7927. |
[41]καὶ εἰσῆλθεν αβιμελεχ ἐν αρημα καὶ ἐξέβαλεν ζεβουλ τὸν γααλ καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ μὴ οἰκεῖν ἐν συχεμ |
| [42]And it came to pass on the morrowH4283, that the peopleH5971 went outH3318[H8799] into the fieldH7704; and they toldH5046[H8686] AbimelechH40. |
[42]καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἐπαύριον καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ λαὸς εἰς τὸν ἀγρόν καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν τῷ αβιμελεχ |
| [43]And he tookH3947[H8799] the peopleH5971, and dividedH2673[H8799] them into threeH7969 companiesH7218, and laid waitH693[H8799] in the fieldH7704, and lookedH7200[H8799], and, behold, the peopleH5971 were come forthH3318[H8802] out of the cityH5892; and he rose upH6965[H8799] against them, and smoteH5221 themH8686. |
[43]καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν λαὸν καὶ διεῖλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τρεῖς ἀρχὰς καὶ ἐνήδρευσεν ἐν ἀγρῷ καὶ εἶδεν καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ λαὸς ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἀνέστη ἐπ αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτούς |
| [44]And AbimelechH40, and the companyH7218 that was with him, rushed forwardH6584[H8804], and stoodH5975[H8799] in the enteringH6607 of the gateH8179 of the cityH5892: and the twoH8147 other companiesH7218 ran uponH6584[H8804] all the people that were in the fieldsH7704, and slewH5221 themH8686. |
[44]καὶ αβιμελεχ καὶ οἱ ἀρχηγοὶ οἱ μετ αὐτοῦ ἐξέτειναν καὶ ἔστησαν παρὰ τὴν θύραν τῆς πύλης τῆς πόλεως καὶ αἱ δύο ἀρχαὶ ἐξέτειναν ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτούς |
| [45]And AbimelechH40 foughtH3898[H8738] against the cityH5892 all that dayH3117; and he tookH3920[H8799] the cityH5892, and slewH2026[H8804] the peopleH5971 that was therein, and beat downH5422[H8799] the cityH5892, and sowedH2232[H8799] it with saltH4417. |
[45]καὶ αβιμελεχ παρετάσσετο ἐν τῇ πόλει ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἐκείνην καὶ κατελάβετο τὴν πόλιν καὶ τὸν λαὸν τὸν ἐν αὐτῇ ἀπέκτεινεν καὶ καθεῖλεν τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἔσπειρεν εἰς ἅλας |
| [46]And when all the menH1167 of the towerH4026 of ShechemH7927 heardH8085[H8799] that, they enteredH935[H8799] into an holdH6877 of the houseH1004 of the godH410 BerithH1286. |
[46]καὶ ἤκουσαν πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες πύργων συχεμ καὶ ἦλθον εἰς συνέλευσιν βαιθηλβεριθ |
| [47]And it was toldH5046[H8714] AbimelechH40, that all the menH1167 of the towerH4026 of ShechemH7927 were gathered togetherH6908.[H8694] |
[47]καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τῷ αβιμελεχ ὅτι συνήχθησαν πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες πύργων συχεμ |
| [48]And AbimelechH40 gat him upH5927[H8799] to mountH2022 ZalmonH6756, he and all the peopleH5971 that were with him; and AbimelechH40 tookH3947[H8799] an axeH7134 in his handH3027, and cut downH3772[H8799] a boughH7754 from the treesH6086, and tookH5375[H8799] it, and laidH7760[H8799] it on his shoulderH7926, and saidH559[H8799] unto the peopleH5971 that were with him, What ye have seenH7200[H8804] me doH6213[H8804], make hasteH4116[H8761], and doH6213[H8798] as I have doneH3644. |
[48]καὶ ἀνέβη αβιμελεχ εἰς ὄρος ερμων καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὁ μετ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔλαβεν αβιμελεχ τὰς ἀξίνας ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔκοψεν κλάδον ξύλου καὶ ἦρεν καὶ ἔθηκεν ἐπ ὤμων αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν τῷ λαῷ τῷ μετ αὐτοῦ ὃ εἴδετέ με ποιοῦντα ταχέως ποιήσατε ὡς ἐγώ |
| [49]And all the peopleH5971 likewise cut downH3772[H8799] every manH376 his boughH7754, and followedH3212[H8799][H310] AbimelechH40, and putH7760[H8799] them to the holdH6877, and setH3341[H8686] the holdH6877 on fireH784 upon them; so that all the menH582 of the towerH4026 of ShechemH7927 diedH4191[H8799] also, about a thousandH505 menH376 and womenH802. |
[49]καὶ ἔκοψαν καί γε ἀνὴρ κλάδον πᾶς ἀνὴρ καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω αβιμελεχ καὶ ἐπέθηκαν ἐπὶ τὴν συνέλευσιν καὶ ἐνεπύρισαν ἐπ αὐτοὺς τὴν συνέλευσιν ἐν πυρί καὶ ἀπέθανον καί γε πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες πύργου σικιμων ὡς χίλιοι ἄνδρες καὶ γυναῖκες |
| [50]Then wentH3212[H8799] AbimelechH40 to ThebezH8405, and encampedH2583[H8799] against ThebezH8405, and tookH3920 itH8799. |
[50]καὶ ἐπορεύθη αβιμελεχ ἐκ βαιθηλβεριθ καὶ παρενέβαλεν ἐν θηβης καὶ κατέλαβεν αὐτήν |
| [51]But there was a strongH5797 towerH4026 withinH8432 the cityH5892, and thither fledH5127[H8799] all the menH582 and womenH802, and all theyH1167 of the cityH5892, and shutH5462[H8799] it to them, and gat them upH5927[H8799] to the topH1406 of the towerH4026. |
[51]καὶ πύργος ἰσχυρὸς ἦν ἐν μέσῳ τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἔφυγον ἐκεῖ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἔκλεισαν ἔξωθεν αὐτῶν καὶ ἀνέβησαν ἐπὶ τὸ δῶμα τοῦ πύργου |
| [52]And AbimelechH40 cameH935[H8799] unto the towerH4026, and foughtH3898[H8735] against it, and went hardH5066[H8799] unto the doorH6607 of the towerH4026 to burnH8313[H8800] it with fireH784. |
[52]καὶ ἦλθεν αβιμελεχ ἕως τοῦ πύργου καὶ παρετάξαντο αὐτῷ καὶ ἤγγισεν αβιμελεχ ἕως τῆς θύρας τοῦ πύργου τοῦ ἐμπρῆσαι αὐτὸν ἐν πυρί |
| [53]And a certainH259 womanH802 castH7993[H8686] a pieceH6400 of a millstoneH7393 upon Abimelech'sH40 headH7218, and all to brakeH7533[H8686] his skullH1538. |
[53]καὶ ἔρριψεν γυνὴ μία κλάσμα ἐπιμυλίου ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν αβιμελεχ καὶ ἔκλασεν τὸ κρανίον αὐτοῦ |
| [54]Then he calledH7121[H8799] hastilyH4120 unto the young manH5288 his armourbearerH5375[H8802][H3627], and saidH559[H8799] unto him, DrawH8025[H8798] thy swordH2719, and slayH4191[H8786] me, that men sayH559[H8799] not of me, A womanH802 slewH2026[H8804] him. And his young manH5288 thrust him throughH1856[H8799], and he diedH4191.[H8799] |
[54]καὶ ἐβόησεν ταχὺ πρὸς τὸ παιδάριον τὸ αἶρον τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ σπάσον τὴν ῥομφαίαν μου καὶ θανάτωσόν με μήποτε εἴπωσιν γυνὴ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐξεκέντησεν αὐτὸν τὸ παιδάριον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπέθανεν |
| [55]And when the menH376 of IsraelH3478 sawH7200[H8799] that AbimelechH40 was deadH4191[H8804], they departedH3212[H8799] every manH376 unto his placeH4725. |
[55]καὶ εἶδεν ἀνὴρ ισραηλ ὅτι ἀπέθανεν αβιμελεχ καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ |
| [56]Thus GodH430 renderedH7725[H8686] the wickednessH7451 of AbimelechH40, which he didH6213[H8804] unto his fatherH1, in slayingH2026[H8800] his seventyH7657 brethrenH251: |
[56]καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ὁ θεὸς τὴν πονηρίαν αβιμελεχ ἣν ἐποίησεν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ ἀποκτεῖναι τοὺς ἑβδομήκοντα ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ |
| [57]And all the evilH7451 of the menH582 of ShechemH7927 did GodH430 renderH7725[H8689] upon their headsH7218: and upon them cameH935[H8799] the curseH7045 of JothamH3147 the sonH1121 of JerubbaalH3378. |
[57]καὶ τὴν πᾶσαν πονηρίαν ἀνδρῶν συχεμ ἐπέστρεψεν ὁ θεὸς εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπῆλθεν ἐπ αὐτοὺς ἡ κατάρα ιωαθαν υἱοῦ ιεροβααλ |
