[1]Furthermore ElihuH453 answeredH6030[H8799] H559and saidH8799 |
[1]Furthermore Elihu answered and said, |
[2]HearH8085[H8798] my wordsH4405, O ye wiseH2450 men; and give earH238[H8685] unto me, ye that have knowledgeH3045.[H8802] |
[2]Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge. |
[3]For the earH241 triethH974[H8799] wordsH4405, as the mouthH2441 tastethH2938[H8799] meatH398.[H8800] |
[3]For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat. |
[4]Let us chooseH977[H8799] to us judgmentH4941: let us knowH3045[H8799] among ourselves what is goodH2896. |
[4]Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good. |
[5]For JobH347 hath saidH559[H8804], I am righteousH6663[H8804]: and GodH410 hath taken awayH5493[H8689] my judgmentH4941. |
[5]For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment. |
[6]Should I lieH3576[H8762] against my rightH4941? my woundH2671 is incurableH605[H8803] without transgressionH6588. |
[6]Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression. |
[7]What manH1397 is like JobH347, who drinketh upH8354[H8799] scorningH3933 like waterH4325? |
[7]What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water? |
[8]Which goethH732[H8804] in companyH2274 with the workersH6466[H8802] of iniquityH205, and walkethH3212[H8800] with wickedH7562 menH582. |
[8]Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men. |
[9]For he hath saidH559[H8804], It profitethH5532[H8799] a manH1397 nothing that he should delightH7521[H8800] himself with GodH430. |
[9]For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God. |
[10]Therefore hearkenH8085[H8798] unto me, ye menH582 of understandingH3824: far be itH2486 from GodH410, that he should do wickednessH7562; and from the AlmightyH7706, that he should commit iniquityH5766. |
[10]Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. |
[11]For the workH6467 of a manH120 shall he renderH7999[H8762] unto him, and cause every manH376 to findH4672[H8686] according to his waysH734. |
[11]For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. |
[12]Yea, surelyH551 GodH410 will not do wickedlyH7561[H8686], neither will the AlmightyH7706 pervertH5791[H8762] judgmentH4941. |
[12]Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment. |
[13]Who hath given him a chargeH6485[H8804] over the earthH776? or who hath disposedH7760[H8804] the whole worldH8398? |
[13]Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world? |
[14]If he setH7760[H8799] his heartH3820 upon man, if he gatherH622[H8799] unto himself his spiritH7307 and his breathH5397; |
[14]If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath; |
[15]All fleshH1320 shall perishH1478[H8799] togetherH3162, and manH120 shall turn againH7725[H8799] unto dustH6083. |
[15]All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust. |
[16]If now thou hast understandingH998, hearH8085[H8798] this: hearkenH238[H8685] to the voiceH6963 of my wordsH4405. |
[16]If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words. |
[17]Shall even he that hatethH8130[H8802] rightH4941 governH2280[H8799]? and wilt thou condemnH7561[H8686] him that is mostH3524 justH6662? |
[17]Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just? |
[18]Is it fit to sayH559[H8800] to a kingH4428, Thou art wickedH1100? and to princesH5081, Ye are ungodlyH7563? |
[18]Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly? |
[19]How much less to him that acceptethH5375[H8804] not the personsH6440 of princesH8269, nor regardethH5234[H8765] the richH7771 more thanH6440 the poorH1800? for they all are the workH4639 of his handsH3027. |
[19]How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands. |
[20]In a momentH7281 shall they dieH4191[H8799], and the peopleH5971 shall be troubledH1607[H8792] at midnightH2676[H3915], and pass awayH5674[H8799]: and the mightyH47 shall be taken awayH5493[H8686] without handH3027. |
[20]In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand. |
[21]For his eyesH5869 are upon the waysH1870 of manH376, and he seethH7200[H8799] all his goingsH6806. |
[21]For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. |
[22]There is no darknessH2822, nor shadow of deathH6757, where the workersH6466[H8802] of iniquityH205 may hideH5641 themselvesH8736. |
[22]There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. |
[23]For he will not layH7760[H8799] upon manH376 more than right; that he should enterH1980[H8800] into judgmentH4941 with GodH410. |
[23]For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God. |
[24]He shall break in piecesH7489[H8799] mighty menH3524 without numberH2714, and setH5975[H8686] others in their steadH312. |
[24]He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead. |
[25]Therefore he knowethH5234[H8686] their worksH4566, and he overturnethH2015[H8804] them in the nightH3915, so that they are destroyedH1792.[H8691] |
[25]Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed. |
[26]He strikethH5606[H8804] them asH8478 wicked menH7563 in the openH4725 sightH7200 of othersH8802; |
[26]He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others; |
[27]Because they turned backH5493[H8804] from himH310, and would not considerH7919[H8689] any of his waysH1870: |
[27]Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways: |
[28]So that they cause the cryH6818 of the poorH1800 to comeH935[H8687] unto him, and he hearethH8085[H8799] the cryH6818 of the afflictedH6041. |
[28]So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted. |
[29]When he giveth quietnessH8252[H8686], who then can make troubleH7561[H8686]? and when he hidethH5641[H8686] his faceH6440, who then can beholdH7789[H8799] him? whether it be done against a nationH1471, or against a manH120 onlyH3162: |
[29]When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only: |
[30]That the hypocriteH120[H2611] reignH4427[H8800] not, lest the peopleH5971 be ensnaredH4170. |
[30]That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared. |
[31]Surely it is meet to be saidH559[H8736] unto GodH410, I have borneH5375[H8804] chastisement, I will not offendH2254 any moreH8799: |
[31]Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more: |
[32]That which I seeH2372[H8799] notH1107 teachH3384[H8685] thou me: if I have doneH6466[H8804] iniquityH5766, I will doH3254 no moreH8686. |
[32]That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more. |
[33]Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompenseH7999[H8762] it, whether thou refuseH3588[H3988][H8804], or whether thou chooseH977[H8799]; and not I: therefore speakH1696[H8761] what thou knowestH3045.[H8804] |
[33]Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest. |
[34]Let menH582 of understandingH3824 tellH559[H8799] me, and let a wiseH2450 manH1397 hearkenH8085 unto meH8802. |
[34]Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me. |
[35]JobH347 hath spokenH1696[H8762] without knowledgeH1847, and his wordsH1697 were without wisdomH7919.[H8687] |
[35]Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom. |
[36]My desireH15[H8676][H1] is that JobH347 may be triedH974[H8735] unto the endH5331 because of his answersH8666 for wickedH205 menH582. |
[36]My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men. |
[37]For he addethH3254[H8686] rebellionH6588 unto his sinH2403, he clappethH5606[H8799] his hands among us, and multipliethH7235[H8686] his wordsH561 against GodH410. |
[37]For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God. |
