| [1]Veryly, veryly, I say vnto you: He that entreth not in by ye doore into the sheepfolde, but clymeth vp some other way, the same is a thiefe, and a robber |
[1]AMEN, amen, I say to you, Whosoever entereth not by the door into the fold of the flock, but ascendeth by another place, he is a thief and a robber. |
| [2]But he that entreth in by the doore, is the sheephearde of the sheepe |
[2]But he who entereth by the door, he is the shepherd of the flock. |
| [3]To hym the porter openeth, and the sheepe heare his voyce, and he calleth his owne sheepe by name, and leadeth them out |
[3]And to him the keeper of the gate openeth the gate, and the flock heareth his voice, and his sheep he calleth by their names, and he leadeth them forth; |
| [4]And when he hath sent foorth his owne sheepe, he goeth before them, and the sheepe folowe hym: for they knowe his voyce |
[4]And when his flock hath gone forth, he goeth before it, and his sheep follow him, because they know his voice. |
| [5]A straunger wyll they not folowe, but wyll flee from hym: for they knowe not the voyce of straungers |
[5]But after a stranger the flock goeth not, but it fleeth from him; for it knoweth not the voice of a stranger. |
| [6]This prouerbe spake Iesus vnto them: But they vnderstoode not what thynges they were, which he spake vnto them |
[6]This parable spake Jeshu to them, but they knew not what he said with them. |
| [7]Then sayde Iesus vnto them againe. Ueryly, veryly, I say vnto you: I am the doore of the sheepe |
[7]Jeshu saith to them again, Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the gate of the flock; |
| [8]All, euen as many as came before me, are thieues and robbers: but the sheepe dyd not heare them |
[8]And all those who have come were thieves and robbers, but the flock heard them not. |
| [9]I am the doore: by me yf any man enter in, he shalbe safe, and shall go in and out, and fynde pasture |
[9]I am the gate; by me if any man enter, he shall live and shall come in, and go out, and find pasture. |
| [10]A thiefe commeth not, but for to steale, kyll, & to destroy: I am come, that they myght haue lyfe, and that they myght haue it more aboundauntly |
[10]The thief cometh not but to steal and to kill and destroy: I am come that they may have life, and that which is more. |
| [11]I am the good sheephearde. A good sheephearde, geueth his lyfe for the sheepe |
[11]I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd his life layeth down for his flock. |
| [12]An hyrelyng, and he which is not the sheephearde, neither the sheepe are his owne, seeth the wolfe commyng, and leaueth the sheepe, and fleeth, and the wolfe catcheth, & scattereth the sheepe |
[12]The hireling who is not the shepherd, and whose the sheep are not, when he seeth the wolf coming, leaveth the flock and fleeth; and the wolf cometh ravaging and destroying the flock. |
| [13]The hyrelyng fleeth, because he is an hyrelyng, and careth not for the sheepe |
[13]But the hireling fleeth because he is an hireling, and careth not for the flock. |
| [14]I am the good sheepheard, & knowe my sheepe, and am knowen of myne |
[14]I am the good shepherd, and know my own, and am known of my own. |
| [15]As the father knoweth me, euen so, knowe I also the father: And I geue my lyfe for the sheepe |
[15]As my Father knoweth me [and] I know my Father, and my life I lay down for the flock. |
| [16]And other sheepe I haue, which are not of this folde: them also must I bryng, & they shall heare my voyce, and there shalbe one folde, and one sheepehearde |
[16]But I have other sheep also which are not of this fold; and these also it behoveth me to bring, and they will hear my voice, and all shall become one flock and one shepherd. |
| [17]Therfore doth my father loue me, because I put my lyfe [from me,] that I myght take it agayne |
[17]On this account my Father loveth me, because I lay down my life again to take it. |
| [18]No man taketh it from me: but I put it away of my selfe. I haue power to put it from me, and I haue power to take it agayne. This commaundement haue I receaued of my father |
[18]No man taketh it away from me, but I lay it down from my will; for I am able to lay it down, and I am able to take it again; for this commandment have I received from my Father. |
| [19]There was a discention therefore agayne among the Iewes, for these sayinges |
[19]And there was again a division among the Jihudoyee because of his words: |
| [20]And many of them sayde: He hath the deuyll, & is mad, why heare ye him |
[20]And many of them said, He has a devil, and is altogether insane,ⓘ why do you hear him? |
| [21]Other sayd: These are not ye wordes of hym that hath the deuyll. Can the deuyll open the eyes of the blynde |
[21]But others said, These words are not of a demoniac: how can a devil open the eyes of the blind? |
| [22]And it was at Hierusalem, the feast of the dedication, and it was wynter |
[22]IT was the feast of the renovation at Urishlem, and it was winter. |
| [23]And Iesus walked in the temple, euen in Solomons porche |
[23]And Jeshu walked in the temple in the portico of Shelumun. |
| [24]Then came the Iewes rounde about hym, and sayde vnto hym: Howe long doest thou make vs doubt? Yf thou be Christe, tell vs playnely |
[24]And the Jihudoyee surrounded him, saying to him, How long takest thou our souls? If thou art the Meshicha, tell us openly. |
| [25]Iesus aunswered them: I tolde you, and ye beleue not. The workes that I do in my fathers name, they beare witnesse of me |
[25]Jeshu answered and said to them, I have told you, and you believe not. The works that I do in the name of my Father, these witness for me. |
| [26]But ye beleue not, because ye are not of my sheepe, as I sayde vnto you |
[26]But you believe not, because you are not of my sheep, [even] as I told you. |
| [27]My sheepe heare my voyce, and I knowe them, and they folowe me |
[27]My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; |
| [28]And I geue vnto them eternall lyfe, and they shal neuer perishe, neither shal any man plucke them out of my hande |
[28]And I give to them the life which is eternal, and they shall not perish for ever, and no man shall snatch them from my hands. |
| [29]My father which gaue them me, is greater then all: and no man is able to take them out of my fathers hande |
[29]For my Father who gave them to me than all is greater; and no man from the hand of my Father can snatch them. |
| [30]I and my father are one |
[30]I and my Father are One. |
| [31]Then the Iewes agayne toke vp stones, to stone hym [withall. |
[31]And again the Jihudoyee took up stones to stone him. |
| [32]Iesus aunswered them, Many good workes haue I shewed you from my father: for which of the do ye stone me |
[32]Jeshu saith to them, Many good works from my Father have I showed you: on account of which of these works do you stone me? |
| [33]The Iewes aunswered hym, saying: For thy good workes [sake] we stone thee not, but for thy blasphemie, and because that thou beyng a man, makest thy selfe God |
[33]The Jihudoyee say to him, Not on account of the good works do we stone thee, but because thou blasphemest; thou, being a son of man, making thyself Aloha. |
| [34]Iesus aunswered them: Is it not written in your lawe, I sayde, ye are Gods |
[34]Jeshu saith to them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are Alohee? |
| [35]If he called them Gods, vnto whom the worde of God was spoken, and the scripture can not be broken |
[35]If them he calleth Alohee, because with them was the word of Aloha, and the scripture cannot be loosed, |
| [36]Say ye of hym whom the father hath sanctified and sent into the worlde, thou blasphemest, because I saide I am the sonne of God |
[36]To him whom the Father hath sanctified and sent into the world, say you, Thou blasphemest, because I have said to you, I am the Son of Aloha? |
| [37]Yf I do not the workes of my father, beleue me not |
[37]And if I do not the works of my Father, believe me not; |
| [38]But yf I do, and yf ye beleue not me, beleue the workes: that ye may knowe and beleue, that the father is in me, and I in hym |
[38]But if I do, though you believe not me, the works believe, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and [that] I [am] in the Father. |
| [39]Agayne they went about to take hym: and he escaped out of their hande |
[39]And they sought again to apprehend him; but he went forth from among their hands: |
| [40]And went away againe beyonde Iordane, into the place where Iohn before had baptized, and there he abode |
[40]And he went beyond Jurdan, to the place where Juchanon at first had baptized, and was there. |
| [41]And many resorted vnto hym, and sayde: Iohn dyd no miracle, but all thynges that Iohn spake of this man were true |
[41]And many came to him, and said, Juchanon did not one sign; but every thing which Juchanon said concerning this man was true. |
| [42]And many beleued on hym there |
[42]And many believed in him. |
