[1]? there was but a certain one who was sick Lazar from Byth-anya the village the brother of Miriam and of Martha [1]BUT a certain man was sick, Loozar, of the village Bethania: [he was] the brother of Mariam and of Martha.
[2]Mary but this is she the one who anointed with ointment the feet of Jesus and wiped with her hair the brother was of this one Lazar who sick was [2]It was that Mariam who anointed with balsam the feet of Jeshu, and wiped [them] with her hair, whose brother this Loozar was who was sick.
[3]And sent two his sisters to Ieshu and they were saying our Lord Behold he whom love you is sick [3]And his two sisters sent unto Jeshu, saying, Our Lord, he whom thou lovest is sick.
[4]Ieshu but said this sickness not was of death but for the glory of Alaha that may be glorified The Son of Alaha because of it [4]But Jeshu said, This sickness is not of death, but for the glory of Aloha, that the Son of Aloha may be glorified on account of it.
[5]Love did but He Ieshu Martha and Mary and Lazar [5]But Jeshu loved Martha and Mariam and Loozar.
[6]And when He heard that he was sick He remained in the place where He was two days [6]And when he heard that he was sick, he remained in the place where he was two days.
[7]And after this He said to his disciples come we shall go again to Judea [7]And afterwards he saith to his disciples, Come, we will go again into Jihud.
[8]Were saying to Him His disciples our Rabbi now The Jews seeking were to stone You and again? going you are there [8]His disciples say to him, Raban, now have the Jihudoyee sought to stone thee; and again goest thou thither?
[9]Said to them Ieshu not twelve hours are in a day and if a man walks in daylight not he stumbles because he sees the light of the world this [9]Jeshu saith to them, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world;
[10]If a man but in the night he shall walk he stumbles because light there is no in him [10]But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because no light is in him.
[11]These said Ieshu and afterwards He said to them Lazar our friend is resting but going I am that I may wake him [11]These spake Jeshu; and afterwards he said to them, Loozar our friend reposeth; but I go to awake him.
[12]Were saying to Him His disciples our Lord if he is sleeping he is recovering health [12]His disciples say to him, Our Lord, if he sleep he is healed.
[13]He but Ieshu spoke about his death and they thought that about lying down that of sleep He had spoken [13]But Jeshu spake concerning his death; and they thought that concerning the repose of sleep he spake.
[14]Then said to them Ieshu plainly Lazar has died ? [14]Then said Jeshu to them explicatively, Loozar is dead.
[15]And am glad I that not I was there for your sakes that you may believe but you go there [15]And I am glad I was not there for your sakes, that you may believe. But let us walk thither.
[16]Said Thoma who is called The Twin to the disciples his fellow let us go also we shall die with Him [16]Thoma, who is called the Twin, saith to his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
[17]And came Ieshu to Byth-anya and found four him days being in house tomb [17]And Jeshu came to Bethania, and found that he had been four days in the house of burial.
[18]? was but Byth-anya ? beside Jerusalem while separated from it about furlongs fifteen [18]Now Bethania was nigh to Urishlem, being a distance from it of about fifteen stadia.
[19]And many of The Jews coming were to Martha and Mary that they may comfort their hearts concerning their brother [19]And many of the Jihudoyee had come to Martha and Mariam, that they might speak to their hearts concerning their brother.
[20]Martha but when she heard that Jesus had came she went out to meet Him Mary but in the house sitting was [20]Then Martha, when she heard that Jeshu had come, went forth to meet him; but Mariam sat in the house.
[21]And said Martha to Jesus my Lord if here you had been not died would have my brother [21]And Martha said to Jeshu, My Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
[22]But even now know I that as much as You ask to Alaha He shall give to you [22]But even now know I that whatsoever thou wilt ask of Aloha, he giveth to thee.
[23]Said to her Ieshu shall rise your brother [23]Jeshu saith to her, Thy brother ariseth.
[24]And said to Him Martha I know that he shall rise in the resurrection in the day last [24]Martha saith to him, I know that he ariseth in the resurrection at the last day.
[25]Said to her Ieshu I I The Resurrection and The Life whoever trusts in Me even if he dies he shall live [25]Jeshu saith to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life; and [he] who believeth in me, although he will die, shall live.
[26]And everyone who lives and believes in Me to eternity not shall die Do you believe? this [26]And every one who liveth and believeth in me, for ever shall not die. Believest thou this?
[27]And she said to Him Yes my Lord I believe do that You are The Messiah The Son of Alaha that has come into the world [27]She saith to him, Yes, my Lord; I believe that thou art the Meshicha, the Son of Aloha, who cometh into the world.
[28]And when she had said these things having gone she called Mary her sister secretly and she said to her our Rabbi has come and has called for you [28]And when she had said these, she went, called Mariam her sister in secret, and said to her, Our Master hath come, and calleth for thee.
[29]And Mary when heard she arose quickly and coming was to Him [29]When Mariam heard, she arose quickly, and came to him.
[30]Was but Ieshu not yet come had to the village but in it He was in that place in which He met Martha [30]But Jeshu himself had not yet come into the village, but was in that place where Martha met him.
[31]Also there were but The Jews ? who were with her in the house who comforting were her who saw Mary quickly rise and go out they went themselves after her they thought for that to the tomb she went to weep [31]But those Jihudoyee who were also with her in the house to console her, when they saw that Mariam rose up hastily to go forth, went themselves after her; for they thought that to the sepulchre she went to weep.
[32]She but Mary when she came where ? was Ieshu and saw Him she fell before His feet and she said to him Oh that! here would have my brother you were my Lord not died [32]But she, Mariam, when she was come where Jeshu was, and saw him, fell down at his feet, saying, If thou hadst been here, my Lord, my brother had not died.
[33]Ieshu but when saw that she wept and Jews those who came with her weeping He was powerfully moved in His Spirit and was moved His Soul [33]But Jeshu, when he saw her weeping, and those Jihudoyee who came with her weeping, he was moved in his spirit, and was troubled,
[34]And He said where? have you laid him and they were saying to Him our Lord Come see [34]And said, Where have you laid him? And they said to him, Our Lord, come and see.
[35]And come did the tears of Jesus [35]And the tears of Jeshu came.
[36]And saying were The Jews Behold how much loved He him [36]And the Jihudoyee said, See how he loved him!
[37]The people but among them said not? able was This One Who opened the eyes of him who is blind that he should cause that even this one not would die [37]But some of them said, Could not this who opened the eyes of that blind have caused also that this should not have died?
[38]Ieshu but as He was powerfully moved within Himself ? also came to house tomb and that house tomb ? was a cave and a stone placed was over its door way [38]Jeshu, groaning within himself, came to the house of burial; and that house of burial was a cave, and a stone was laid at the gate of it.
[39]And said Ieshu take away stone this said to him Martha the sister of him who died my Lord by now it is putrid on him four are upon it for days [39]And Jeshu said, Take up this stone. Martha, the sister of him [who was] dead, saith to him, My Lord, he now stinketh; for four days are to him.
[40]Said to her Ieshu not? said I to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of Alaha [40]Jeshu said to her, Said I not to thee, that if thou wilt believe, thou shalt see the glory of Aloha?
[41]And they took away stone that and Himself Ieshu lifted His eyes above and said Father thank I You that You have heard Me [41]And they took up the stone. And Jeshu lifted his eye upward, and said, Father, I give thanks to thee that thou hast heard me;
[42]And I know I that always hear You Me but for the sake of crowd this that is standing said I these things that they may believe that You have sent Me [42]And I know that at all times thou hearest me: yet, because of this assembly which standeth, I say these [words], that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
[43]And when He had said these things He cried in a voice loud Lazar come out [43]And when he had said these [words], he cried with a high voice, Loozar, come without!
[44]And came out He who had died while were bound his hands and his feet in swathing bands and his face was bound in a turban said to them Ieshu unbind him and let him go [44]And he, the dead, came forth, his hands and his feet being bound with bandages, and his face in a linen cloth. Jeshu saith to them, Release him, and let [him] go.
[45]And many of The Jews that came to Mary when they saw the thing did Ieshu believed in Him [45]And many of the Jihudoyee who came with Mariam, when they saw the thing which Jeshu did, believed on him.
[46]And people among them went to the Pharisees and they told them the thing did Ieshu [46]And some of them went to the Pharishee, and told them every thing that Jeshu had done.
[47]And were gathered the chief priests and Pharisees and saying they were What? shall we do This Man miracles great is doing [47]AND the chief priests and Pharishee assembled, and said, What shall we do? because this man doeth many signs;
[48]And if allow we Him thus all the people shall believe in Him and shall come The Romans taking away our position and our nation [48]And if we leave him thus, all men will believe on him, and the Rumoyee, coming, take away our country and our people.
[49]One but of them whose name was Qaipha the high priest he was that year and he said to them you not know do anything [49]But one of them, whose name was Kaiapha, was the high priest of that year; and he said to them, You know not any thing,
[50]And not calculate you that it is profitable for us that one man should die instead of the nation and not the whole nation should perish [50]Nor reason that it is expedient for us that one man die for the people, and not all the people perish.
[51]This but from accord his own not said but because high priest he was that year prophesied that prepared was Ieshu that He should die for the nation [51]But this from himself he spake not, but because he was high priest of that year, he prophesied that Jeshu should die for the people,
[52]And not only in place of the nation but so that also the children of Alaha who had scattered He should gather into one [52]And not only for [that] people, but also that the children of Aloha who are dispersed he should gather into one.
[53]And from that day calculating they were that they should kill Him [53]And from that day they determined to kill him.
[54]He but Ieshu not walking was openly among The Jews but He went ? from there to a region that is near the Arabah to a fortress city which is called Ephraim and there was employed He with His disciples [54]But Jeshu himself walked not openly among the Jihudoyee, but went from thence to the region near the wilderness, to a region which was called Ephrem, and there conversed with his disciples.
[55]Drawing near was but The Passover of The Jews and came up many from the villages to Jerusalem before the feast to purify their souls [55]NOW the petscha of the Jihudoyee drew nigh; and many went up from the country places to Urishlem before the festival, to purify themselves.
[56]And seeking they were for Ieshu and saying they were one to another in the temple what? think do you ? shall He come? to the feast [56]And they sought for Jeshu, and said one to another in the temple, What think you, that he cometh to the feast?
[57]Chief the priests but and Pharisees ordered they that if a man should know where He is he should show them so they might sieze Him [57]But the chief priests and Pharishee had commanded that if any man knew where [he was], he should declare it to them, as that they might apprehend him.
