[1]ην δε τις ασθενων λαζαρος απο βηθανιας εκ της κωμης μαριας και μαρθας της αδελφης αυτης [1]? there was but a certain one who was sick Lazar from Byth-anya the village the brother of Miriam and of Martha
[2]ην δε μαριαμ η αλειψασα τον κυριον μυρω και εκμαξασα τους ποδας αυτου ταις θριξιν αυτης ης ο αδελφος λαζαρος ησθενει [2]Mary but this is she the one who anointed with ointment the feet of Jesus and wiped with her hair the brother was of this one Lazar who sick was
[3]απεστειλαν ουν αι αδελφαι προς αυτον λεγουσαι κυριε ιδε ον φιλεις ασθενει [3]And sent two his sisters to Ieshu and they were saying our Lord Behold he whom love you is sick
[4]ακουσας δε ο ιησους ειπεν αυτη η ασθενεια ουκ εστιν προς θανατον αλλ υπερ της δοξης του θεου ινα δοξασθη ο υιος του θεου δι αυτης [4]Ieshu but said this sickness not was of death but for the glory of Alaha that may be glorified The Son of Alaha because of it
[5]ηγαπα δε ο ιησους την μαρθαν και την αδελφην αυτης και τον λαζαρον [5]Love did but He Ieshu Martha and Mary and Lazar
[6]ως ουν ηκουσεν οτι ασθενει τοτε μεν εμεινεν εν ω ην τοπω δυο ημερας [6]And when He heard that he was sick He remained in the place where He was two days
[7]επειτα μετα τουτο λεγει τοις μαθηταις αγωμεν εις την ιουδαιαν παλιν [7]And after this He said to his disciples come we shall go again to Judea
[8]λεγουσιν αυτω οι μαθηται ραββι νυν εζητουν σε λιθασαι οι ιουδαιοι και παλιν υπαγεις εκει [8]Were saying to Him His disciples our Rabbi now The Jews seeking were to stone You and again? going you are there
[9]απεκριθη ιησους ουχι δωδεκα ωραι εισιν της ημερας εαν τις περιπατη εν τη ημερα ου προσκοπτει οτι το φως του κοσμου τουτου βλεπει [9]Said to them Ieshu not twelve hours are in a day and if a man walks in daylight not he stumbles because he sees the light of the world this
[10]εαν δε τις περιπατη εν τη νυκτι προσκοπτει οτι το φως ουκ εστιν εν αυτω [10]If a man but in the night he shall walk he stumbles because light there is no in him
[11]ταυτα ειπεν και μετα τουτο λεγει αυτοις λαζαρος ο φιλος ημων κεκοιμηται αλλα πορευομαι ινα εξυπνισω αυτον [11]These said Ieshu and afterwards He said to them Lazar our friend is resting but going I am that I may wake him
[12]ειπαν ουν οι μαθηται αυτω κυριε ει κεκοιμηται σωθησεται [12]Were saying to Him His disciples our Lord if he is sleeping he is recovering health
[13]ειρηκει δε ο ιησους περι του θανατου αυτου εκεινοι δε εδοξαν οτι περι της κοιμησεως του υπνου λεγει [13]He but Ieshu spoke about his death and they thought that about lying down that of sleep He had spoken
[14]τοτε ουν ειπεν αυτοις ο ιησους παρρησια λαζαρος απεθανεν [14]Then said to them Ieshu plainly Lazar has died ?
[15]και χαιρω δι υμας ινα πιστευσητε οτι ουκ ημην εκει αλλα αγωμεν προς αυτον [15]And am glad I that not I was there for your sakes that you may believe but you go there
[16]ειπεν ουν θωμας ο λεγομενος διδυμος τοις συμμαθηταις αγωμεν και ημεις ινα αποθανωμεν μετ αυτου [16]Said Thoma who is called The Twin to the disciples his fellow let us go also we shall die with Him
[17]ελθων ουν ο ιησους ευρεν αυτον τεσσαρας ηδη ημερας εχοντα εν τω μνημειω [17]And came Ieshu to Byth-anya and found four him days being in house tomb
[18]ην δε η βηθανια εγγυς των ιεροσολυμων ως απο σταδιων δεκαπεντε [18]? was but Byth-anya ? beside Jerusalem while separated from it about furlongs fifteen
[19]πολλοι δε εκ των ιουδαιων εληλυθεισαν προς την μαρθαν και μαριαμ ινα παραμυθησωνται αυτας περι του αδελφου [19]And many of The Jews coming were to Martha and Mary that they may comfort their hearts concerning their brother
[20]η ουν μαρθα ως ηκουσεν οτι ιησους ερχεται υπηντησεν αυτω μαριαμ δε εν τω οικω εκαθεζετο [20]Martha but when she heard that Jesus had came she went out to meet Him Mary but in the house sitting was
[21]ειπεν ουν η μαρθα προς τον ιησουν κυριε ει ης ωδε ουκ αν απεθανεν ο αδελφος μου [21]And said Martha to Jesus my Lord if here you had been not died would have my brother
[22][αλλα] και νυν οιδα οτι οσα αν αιτηση τον θεον δωσει σοι ο θεος [22]But even now know I that as much as You ask to Alaha He shall give to you
[23]λεγει αυτη ο ιησους αναστησεται ο αδελφος σου [23]Said to her Ieshu shall rise your brother
[24]λεγει αυτω η μαρθα οιδα οτι αναστησεται εν τη αναστασει εν τη εσχατη ημερα [24]And said to Him Martha I know that he shall rise in the resurrection in the day last
[25]ειπεν αυτη ο ιησους εγω ειμι η αναστασις και η ζωη ο πιστευων εις εμε καν αποθανη ζησεται [25]Said to her Ieshu I I The Resurrection and The Life whoever trusts in Me even if he dies he shall live
[26]και πας ο ζων και πιστευων εις εμε ου μη αποθανη εις τον αιωνα πιστευεις τουτο [26]And everyone who lives and believes in Me to eternity not shall die Do you believe? this
[27]λεγει αυτω ναι κυριε εγω πεπιστευκα οτι συ ει ο χριστος ο υιος του θεου ο εις τον κοσμον ερχομενος [27]And she said to Him Yes my Lord I believe do that You are The Messiah The Son of Alaha that has come into the world
[28]και τουτο ειπουσα απηλθεν και εφωνησεν μαριαμ την αδελφην αυτης λαθρα ειπουσα ο διδασκαλος παρεστιν και φωνει σε [28]And when she had said these things having gone she called Mary her sister secretly and she said to her our Rabbi has come and has called for you
[29]εκεινη δε ως ηκουσεν ηγερθη ταχυ και ηρχετο προς αυτον [29]And Mary when heard she arose quickly and coming was to Him
[30]ουπω δε εληλυθει ο ιησους εις την κωμην αλλ ην ετι εν τω τοπω οπου υπηντησεν αυτω η μαρθα [30]Was but Ieshu not yet come had to the village but in it He was in that place in which He met Martha
[31]οι ουν ιουδαιοι οι οντες μετ αυτης εν τη οικια και παραμυθουμενοι αυτην ιδοντες την μαριαμ οτι ταχεως ανεστη και εξηλθεν ηκολουθησαν αυτη δοξαντες οτι υπαγει εις το μνημειον ινα κλαυση εκει [31]Also there were but The Jews ? who were with her in the house who comforting were her who saw Mary quickly rise and go out they went themselves after her they thought for that to the tomb she went to weep
[32]η ουν μαριαμ ως ηλθεν οπου ην ιησους ιδουσα αυτον επεσεν αυτου προς τους ποδας λεγουσα αυτω κυριε ει ης ωδε ουκ αν μου απεθανεν ο αδελφος [32]She but Mary when she came where ? was Ieshu and saw Him she fell before His feet and she said to him Oh that! here would have my brother you were my Lord not died
[33]ιησους ουν ως ειδεν αυτην κλαιουσαν και τους συνελθοντας αυτη ιουδαιους κλαιοντας ενεβριμησατο τω πνευματι και εταραξεν εαυτον [33]Ieshu but when saw that she wept and Jews those who came with her weeping He was powerfully moved in His Spirit and was moved His Soul
[34]και ειπεν που τεθεικατε αυτον λεγουσιν αυτω κυριε ερχου και ιδε [34]And He said where? have you laid him and they were saying to Him our Lord Come see
[35]εδακρυσεν ο ιησους [35]And come did the tears of Jesus
[36]ελεγον ουν οι ιουδαιοι ιδε πως εφιλει αυτον [36]And saying were The Jews Behold how much loved He him
[37]τινες δε εξ αυτων ειπαν ουκ εδυνατο ουτος ο ανοιξας τους οφθαλμους του τυφλου ποιησαι ινα και ουτος μη αποθανη [37]The people but among them said not? able was This One Who opened the eyes of him who is blind that he should cause that even this one not would die
[38]ιησους ουν παλιν εμβριμωμενος εν εαυτω ερχεται εις το μνημειον ην δε σπηλαιον και λιθος επεκειτο επ αυτω [38]Ieshu but as He was powerfully moved within Himself ? also came to house tomb and that house tomb ? was a cave and a stone placed was over its door way
[39]λεγει ο ιησους αρατε τον λιθον λεγει αυτω η αδελφη του τετελευτηκοτος μαρθα κυριε ηδη οζει τεταρταιος γαρ εστιν [39]And said Ieshu take away stone this said to him Martha the sister of him who died my Lord by now it is putrid on him four are upon it for days
[40]λεγει αυτη ο ιησους ουκ ειπον σοι οτι εαν πιστευσης οψη την δοξαν του θεου [40]Said to her Ieshu not? said I to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of Alaha
[41]ηραν ουν τον λιθον ο δε ιησους ηρεν τους οφθαλμους ανω και ειπεν πατερ ευχαριστω σοι οτι ηκουσας μου [41]And they took away stone that and Himself Ieshu lifted His eyes above and said Father thank I You that You have heard Me
[42]εγω δε ηδειν οτι παντοτε μου ακουεις αλλα δια τον οχλον τον περιεστωτα ειπον ινα πιστευσωσιν οτι συ με απεστειλας [42]And I know I that always hear You Me but for the sake of crowd this that is standing said I these things that they may believe that You have sent Me
[43]και ταυτα ειπων φωνη μεγαλη εκραυγασεν λαζαρε δευρο εξω [43]And when He had said these things He cried in a voice loud Lazar come out
[44]εξηλθεν ο τεθνηκως δεδεμενος τους ποδας και τας χειρας κειριαις και η οψις αυτου σουδαριω περιεδεδετο λεγει [ο] ιησους αυτοις αυτοις ο ιησους λυσατε αυτον και αφετε αυτον υπαγειν [44]And came out He who had died while were bound his hands and his feet in swathing bands and his face was bound in a turban said to them Ieshu unbind him and let him go
[45]πολλοι ουν εκ των ιουδαιων οι ελθοντες προς την μαριαμ και θεασαμενοι ο α εποιησεν επιστευσαν εις αυτον [45]And many of The Jews that came to Mary when they saw the thing did Ieshu believed in Him
[46]τινες δε εξ αυτων απηλθον προς τους φαρισαιους και ειπαν αυτοις α εποιησεν ιησους [46]And people among them went to the Pharisees and they told them the thing did Ieshu
[47]συνηγαγον ουν οι αρχιερεις και οι φαρισαιοι συνεδριον και ελεγον τι ποιουμεν οτι ουτος ο ανθρωπος πολλα ποιει σημεια [47]And were gathered the chief priests and Pharisees and saying they were What? shall we do This Man miracles great is doing
[48]εαν αφωμεν αυτον ουτως παντες πιστευσουσιν εις αυτον και ελευσονται οι ρωμαιοι και αρουσιν ημων και τον τοπον και το εθνος [48]And if allow we Him thus all the people shall believe in Him and shall come The Romans taking away our position and our nation
[49]εις δε τις εξ αυτων καιαφας αρχιερευς ων του ενιαυτου εκεινου ειπεν αυτοις υμεις ουκ οιδατε ουδεν [49]One but of them whose name was Qaipha the high priest he was that year and he said to them you not know do anything
[50]ουδε λογιζεσθε οτι συμφερει υμιν ινα εις ανθρωπος αποθανη υπερ του λαου και μη ολον το εθνος αποληται [50]And not calculate you that it is profitable for us that one man should die instead of the nation and not the whole nation should perish
[51]τουτο δε αφ εαυτου ουκ ειπεν αλλα αρχιερευς ων του ενιαυτου εκεινου επροφητευσεν οτι εμελλεν ιησους αποθνησκειν υπερ του εθνους [51]This but from accord his own not said but because high priest he was that year prophesied that prepared was Ieshu that He should die for the nation
[52]και ουχ υπερ του εθνους μονον αλλ ινα και τα τεκνα του θεου τα διεσκορπισμενα συναγαγη εις εν [52]And not only in place of the nation but so that also the children of Alaha who had scattered He should gather into one
[53]απ εκεινης ουν της ημερας εβουλευσαντο ινα αποκτεινωσιν αυτον [53]And from that day calculating they were that they should kill Him
[54]ο ουν ιησους ουκετι παρρησια περιεπατει εν τοις ιουδαιοις αλλα απηλθεν εκειθεν εις την χωραν εγγυς της ερημου εις εφραιμ λεγομενην πολιν κακει-C εμεινεν μετα των μαθητων [54]He but Ieshu not walking was openly among The Jews but He went ? from there to a region that is near the Arabah to a fortress city which is called Ephraim and there was employed He with His disciples
[55]ην δε εγγυς το πασχα των ιουδαιων και ανεβησαν πολλοι εις ιεροσολυμα εκ της χωρας προ του πασχα ινα αγνισωσιν εαυτους [55]Drawing near was but The Passover of The Jews and came up many from the villages to Jerusalem before the feast to purify their souls
[56]εζητουν ουν τον ιησουν και ελεγον μετ αλληλων εν τω ιερω εστηκοτες τι δοκει υμιν οτι ου μη ελθη εις την εορτην [56]And seeking they were for Ieshu and saying they were one to another in the temple what? think do you ? shall He come? to the feast
[57]δεδωκεισαν δε οι αρχιερεις και οι φαρισαιοι εντολας ινα εαν τις γνω που εστιν μηνυση οπως πιασωσιν αυτον [57]Chief the priests but and Pharisees ordered they that if a man should know where He is he should show them so they might sieze Him
