| [1]ישׁוע דינ קדמ שׁתא יומינ דפצחא אתא לבית-עניא איכא דאיתוהי הוא לעזר הו דאקימ מנ בית מיתא הו ישׁוע |
[1]Then Jesus six days before the Passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which was dead, whom he had raised from the dead. |
| [2]ועבדו לה תמנ חשׁמיתא ומרתא משׁמשׁא הות ולעזר חד מנ סמיכא הוא דעמה |
[2]There they made him a supper, and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. |
| [3]מרימ דינ שׁקלת שׁטיפתא דבסמא דנרדינ רשׁיא סגי דמיא ומשׁחת רגלוהי דישׁוע ושׁוית בסערה רגלוהי ואתמלי ביתא מנ ריחה דבסמא |
[3]Then took Mary a pound of ointment of Spikenard very costly, and anointed Jesus feet, and wiped his feet with her hair, and the house was filled with the savor of the ointment. |
| [4]ואמר יהודא סכריוטא חד מנ תלמידוהי הו דעתיד הוא דנשׁלמיוהי |
[4]Then said one of his disciples, even Judas Iscariot Simons son, which should betray him, |
| [5]למנא לא אזדבנ משׁחא הנא בתלת מאא דינרינ ואתיהב למסכנא |
[5]Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? |
| [6]הדא דינ אמר לא הוא מטל דעל מסכנא בטיל הוא לה אלא מטל דגנבא הוא וגלוסקמא לותה הוא ומדמ דנפל הוא בה הו טעינ הוא |
[6]Now he said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare that which was given. |
| [7]אמר דינ ישׁוע שׁבוקיה ליומא דקבורי נטרתה |
[7]Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying she kept it. |
| [8]בכלזבנ גיר מסכנא אית לכונ עמכונ לי דינ לא בכלזבנ אית לכונ |
[8]For the poor always ye have with you, but me ye shall not have always. |
| [9]ושׁמעו כנשׁא סגיאא מנ יהודיא דתמנ הו ישׁוע ואתו לא מטל ישׁוע בלחוד אלא אפ דנחזונ ללעזר הו דאקימ מנ בית מיתא |
[9]Then much people of the Jews knew that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. |
| [10]ואתרעיו הוו רבי כהנא דאפ ללעזר נקטלוניהי |
[10]The high Priests therefore consulted, that they might put Lazarus to death also, |
| [11]מטל דסגיאא מנ יהודיא מטלתה אזלינ הוו ומהימנינ בישׁוע |
[11]Because that for his sake many of the Jews went away, and believed in Jesus. |
| [12]וליומא אחרנא כנשׁא סגיאא אינא דאתא הוא לעדעדא כד שׁמעו דישׁוע אתא לאורשׁלמ |
[12]On the morrow a great multitude that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus should come to Jerusalem, |
| [13]שׁקלו סוכא דדקלא ונפקו לאורעה וקעינ הוו ואמרינ אושׁענא בריכ הו דאתא בשׁמה דמריא מלכא דיסריל |
[13]Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna, Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the Name of the Lord. |
| [14]אשׁכח דינ ישׁוע חמרא ויתב עלוהי איכנא דכתיב |
[14]And Jesus found a young ass, and sat thereon, as it is written, |
| [15]לא תדחלינ ברת צהיונ הא מלככי אתא לכי ורכיב על עילא בר אתנא |
[15]Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh sitting on an asses colt. |
| [16]הלינ דינ לא ידעו תלמידוהי בהו זבנא אלא כד אשׁתבח ישׁוע אתדכרו תלמידוהי דהלינ כתיבנ הוי עלוהי והלינ עבדו לה |
[16]But his disciples understood not these things at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they, that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. |
| [17]וסהד הוא כנשׁא הו דעמה הוא דקרא ללעזר מנ קברא ואקימה מנ בית מיתא |
[17]The people therefore that was with him, bare witness that he called Lazarus out of the grave, and raised him from the dead. |
| [18]ומטל הדא נפקו לקובלה כנשׁא סגיאא דשׁמעו דאתא הדא עבד |
[18]Therefore met him the people also, because they heard that he had done this miracle. |
| [19]פרישׁא דינ אמרינ הוו חד לחד חזינ אנתונ דלא מותרינ אנתונ מדמ דהא עלמא כלה אזל לה בתרה |
[19]And the Pharisees said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? Behold, the world goeth after him. |
| [20]אית הוו דינ אפ מנ עממא אנשׁא בהונ דסלקו למסגד בעדעדא |
[20]Now there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast. |
| [21]הלינ אתו קרבו לות פיליפוס הו דמנ בית-צידא דגלילא ושׁאלוהי ואמרינ לה מרי צבינ חננ נחזא לישׁוע |
[21]And they came to Philip, which was of Bethsaida in Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. |
| [22]ואתא הו פיליפוס ואמר לאנדראוס ואנדראוס ופיליפוס אמרו לישׁוע |
[22]Philip came and told Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip told Jesus. |
| [23]ישׁוע דינ ענא ואמר להונ אתת שׁעתא דנשׁתבח ברה דאנשׁא |
[23]And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man must be glorified. |
| [24]אמינ אמינ אמר אנא לכונ דפרדתא דחטתא אנ לא נפלא ומיתא בארעא בלחודיה פישׁא אנ דינ מיתא פארא סגיאא מיתיא |
[24]Verily, verily I say unto you, Except the wheat corn fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. |
| [25]מנ דרחמ נפשׁה נובדיה ומנ דסנא נפשׁה בעלמא הנא נטריה לחיא דלעלמ |
[25]He that loveth his life, shall lose it, and he that hateth his life in this world, shall keep it unto life eternal. |
| [26]אנ לי אנשׁ משׁמשׁ נאתא בתרי ואיכא דאנא איתי תמנ נהוא אפ משׁמשׁני מנ דלי משׁמשׁ ניקריוהי אבא |
[26]If any man serve me, let him follow me: for where I am, there shall also my servant be: and if any man serve me, him will my Father honor. |
| [27]השׁא נפשׁי הא שׁגישׁא ומנא אמר אבי פצני מנ הדא שׁעתא אלא מטל הנא אתית להדא שׁעתא |
[27]Now is my soul troubled: and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but therefore came I unto this hour. |
| [28]אבא שׁבח שׁמכ וקלא אשׁתמע מנ שׁמיא שׁבחת ותוב משׁבח אנא |
[28]Father, glorify thy Name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. |
| [29]וכנשׁא דקאמ הוא שׁמעו ואמרינ רעמא הוא אחרנא דינ אמרינ מלאכא מלל עמה |
[29]Then said the people that stood by and heard, that it was a thunder: others said, An Angel spake to him. |
| [30]ענא ישׁוע ואמר להונ לא הוא מטלתי הוא קלא הנא אלא מטלתכונ |
[30]Jesus answered, and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. |
| [31]השׁא דינה הו דעלמא הנא השׁא ארכונא דעלמא הנא משׁתדא לבר |
[31]Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. |
| [32]ואנא מא דאתתרימת מנ ארעא אגד כל אנשׁ לותי |
[32]And I, if I were lift up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. |
| [33]הדא דינ אמר דנחוא באינא מותא מאת |
[33]Now this said he, signifying what death he should die. |
| [34]אמרינ לה כנשׁא חננ שׁמענ מנ נמוסא דמשׁיחא לעלמ מקוא איכנא אמר אנת דעתיד הו דנתתרימ ברה דאנשׁא מנו הנא ברה דאנשׁא |
[34]The people answered him, We have heard out of the Law, that the Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, that the Son of man must be lift up? Who is that Son of man? |
| [35]אמר להונ ישׁוע קליל אחרינ זבנא נוהרא עמכונ הו הלכו עד אית לכונ נוהרא דלא חשׁוכא נדרככונ ומנ דמהלכ בחשׁוכא לא ידע לאיכא אזל |
[35]Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you: walk while ye have light, lest the darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in the dark, knoweth not whether he goeth. |
| [36]עד אית לכונ נוהרא הימנו בנוהרא דבנוהי דנוהרא תהוונ הלינ מלל ישׁוע ואזל אתטשׁי מנהונ |
[36]While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of the light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and hid himself from them. |
| [37]וכד הלינ כלהינ אתותא עבד קדמיהונ לא הימנו בה |
[37]And though he had done so many miracles before them, yet believed they not on him, |
| [38]דתתמלא מלתא דאשׁעיא נביא דאמר מרי מנו הימנ לשׁמענ ודרעה דמריא למנ אתגלי |
[38]That the saying of Isaiah the Prophet might be fulfilled, that he said, Lord, who believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? |
| [39]מטל הנא לא משׁכחינ הוו דנהימנונ מטל דתוב אמר אשׁעיא |
[39]Therefore could they not believe, because that Isaiah saith again, |
| [40]דעורו עיניהונ ואחשׁכו לבהונ דלא נחזונ בעיניהונ ונסתכלונ בלבהונ ונתפנונ ואסא אנונ |
[40]He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their hearts, that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. |
| [41]הלינ אמר אשׁעיא כד חזא שׁובחה ומלל עלוהי |
[41]These things said Isaiah when he saw his glory, and spake of him. |
| [42]אפ מנ רשׁא דינ סגיאא הימנו בה אלא מטל פרישׁא לא מודינ הוו דלא נהוונ לבר מנ כנושׁתא |
[42]Nevertheless, even among the chief rulers many believed in him: but because of the Pharisees, they did not confess him, lest they should be cast out of the Synagogue. |
| [43]רחמו גיר שׁובחא דבנינשׁא יתיר מנ שׁובחה דאלהא |
[43]For they loved the praise of men, more then the praise of God. |
| [44]ישׁוע דינ קעא ואמר מנ דמהימנ בי לא הוא בי מהימנ אלא במנ דשׁדרני |
[44]And Jesus cried, and said, He that believeth in me, believeth not in me, but in him that sent me. |
| [45]ומנ דלי חזא חזא למנ דשׁדרני |
[45]And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me. |
| [46]אנא נוהרא אתית לעלמא דכל מנ דמהימנ בי לא נקוא בחשׁוכא |
[46]I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth in me, should not abide in darkness. |
| [47]ומנ דשׁמע מלי ולא נטר להינ אנא לא דאנ אנא לה לא גיר אתית דאדונ לעלמא אלא דאחא לעלמא |
[47]And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. |
| [48]מנ דטלמ לי ולא מקבל מלי אית מנ דדאנ לה מלתא דמללת הי דינא לה ביומא אחריא |
[48]He that refuseth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, it shall judge him in the last day. |
| [49]דאנא מנ נפשׁי לא מללת אלא אבא דשׁדרני הו יהב לי פוקדנא מנא אמר ומנא אמלל |
[49]For I have not spoken of myself: but the Father, which sent me, he gave me a commandment what I should say, and what I should speak. |
| [50]וידע אנא דפוקדנה חיא אנונ דלעלמ אילינ הכיל דממלל אנא איכנא דאמר לי אבי הכנא ממלל אנא |
[50]And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: the things therefore that I speak, I speak them so as the Father said unto me. |
