| [1]בתר הלינ אזל ישׁוע לעברא דימא דגלילא דטבריוס |
[1]After these things, Jesus went his way over the Sea of Galilee, or of Tiberius. |
| [2]ואזלו בתרה כנשׁא סגיאא מטל דחזינ הוו אתותא דעבד בכריהא |
[2]And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles, which he did on them that were diseased. |
| [3]וסלק ישׁוע לטורא ותמנ יתב הוא עמ תלמידוהי |
[3]Then Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. |
| [4]קריב הוא דינ עדעדא דפצחא דיהודיא |
[4]Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. |
| [5]וארימ עינוהי ישׁוע וחזא כנשׁא סגיאא דאתא לותה ואמר לפיליפוס אימכא נזבנ לחמא דנאכלונ הלינ |
[5]Then JESUS lift up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude came unto him, he said unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these might eat? |
| [6]הדא דינ אמר כד מנסא לה הו גיר ידע הוא מנא עתיד למעבד |
[6](And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.) |
| [7]אמר לה פיליפוס דמאתינ דינרינ לחמא לא ספק להונ כד קליל קליל חד חד מנהונ נסב |
[7]Philip answered him, Two hundred penny worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. |
| [8]אמר לה חד מנ תלמידוהי אנדראוס אחוהי דשׁמעונ כאפא |
[8]Then said unto him one of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peters brother, |
| [9]אית תננ טליא חד דאית עלוהי חמשׁ גריצנ דסערא ותרינ נונינ אלא הלינ מנא אנונ להלינ כלהונ |
[9]There is a little boy here, which hath five barley loaves, and two fishes: but what are they among so many? |
| [10]אמר להונ ישׁוע עבדו אנשׁא כלהונ דנסתמכונ עסבא דינ סגי הוא בה בדוכתא הי ואסתמכו גברא במנינא חמשׁא אלפינ |
[10]And Jesus said, Make the people sit down. (Now there was much grass in that place.) Then the men sat down in number, about five thousand. |
| [11]ושׁקל ישׁוע לחמא וברכ ופלג להנונ דסמיכינ והכנא אפ מנ נונא כמא דצבו |
[11]And Jesus took the bread, and gave thanks, and gave to the disciples and the disciples, to them that were set down: and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. |
| [12]וכד סבעו אמר לתלמידוהי כנשׁו קציא דיתרו דלא נאבד מדמ |
[12]And when they were satisfied, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the broken meat which remaineth, that nothing be lost. |
| [13]וכנשׁו ומלו תרעסר קופינינ קציא אילינ דיתרו להנונ דאכלו מנ חמשׁא לחמינ דסערא |
[13]Then they gathered it together, and filled twelve baskets with the broken meat of the five barley loaves, which remained unto them that had eaten. |
| [14]הנונ דינ אנשׁא דחזו אתא דעבד ישׁוע אמרינ הוו שׁריראית הנו נביא דאתא לעלמא |
[14]Then the men when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth the Prophet that should come into the world. |
| [15]ישׁוע דינ ידע דעתידינ דנאתונ נחטפוניהי ונעבדוניהי מלכא ושׁני לה לטורא הו בלחודוהי |
[15]When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come, and take him to make him a King, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. |
| [16]וכד הוא רמשׁא נחתו תלמידוהי לימא |
[16]When even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, |
| [17]ויתבו בספינתא ואתינ הוו לעברא לכפרנחומ וחשׁכת הות לה ולא אתי הוא לותהונ ישׁוע |
[17]And entered into a ship, and went over the sea, towards Capernaum: and now it was dark, and Jesus was not come to them. |
| [18]ימא דינ אזדקפ הוא עליהונ מטל דרוחא רבתא נשׁבת הות |
[18]And the Sea arose with a great wind that blew. |
| [19]ודברו איכ אסטדותא עסרינ וחמשׁא או תלתינ וחזו לישׁוע כד מהלכ על ימתא וכד קרב לות ספינתהונ דחלו |
[19]And when they had rowed about five and twenty, or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing near unto the ship: so they were afraid. |
| [20]הו דינ ישׁוע אמר להונ אנא אנא לא תדחלונ |
[20]But he said unto them, It is I: be not afraid. |
| [21]וצבו הוו דנקבלוניהי בספינתא ובה בשׁעתא ספינתא הי הות לות ארעא הי דאזלינ הוו לה |
[21]Then willingly they received him into the ship, and the ship was by and by at the land, whether they went. |
| [22]וליומא דבתרה הו כנשׁא דקאמ הוא בעברא דימא חזו דספינתא אחרתא לית הוא תמנ אלא אנ הי דסלקו לה תלמידא ודלא על הוא עמהונ ישׁוע עמ תלמידוהי לספינתא |
[22]The day following, the people which stood on the other side of the sea, saw that there was none other ship there, save that one, whereunto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples in the ship, but that his disciples were gone alone, |
| [23]אתי הוי דינ אלפא אחרניתא מנ טבריוס על גנב דוכתא הי דאכלו בה לחמא כד ברכ ישׁוע |
[23]And that there came other ships from Tiberius near unto the place where they ate the bread, after the Lord had given thanks. |
| [24]וכד חזא הו כנשׁא דלא הוא תמנ ישׁוע אפלא תלמידוהי סלקו להלינ אלפא ואתו לכפרנחומ ובעינ הוו לה לישׁוע |
[24]Now when the people saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. |
| [25]וכד אשׁכחוהי בעברא דימא אמרינ לה רבנ אמתי אתית להרכא |
[25]And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? |
| [26]ענא ישׁוע ואמר להונ אמינ אמינ אמר אנא לכונ דבעינ אנתונ לי לא הוא מטל דחזיתונ אתותא אלא דאכלתונ לחמא וסבעתונ |
[26]Jesus answered them; and said, Verily, verily I say unto you, ye seek me not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled. |
| [27]לא תפלחונ מאכולתא דאבדא אלא מאכולתא דמקויא לחיא דלעלמ אידא דברה דאנשׁא נתל לכונ להנא גיר אבא חתמ אלהא |
[27]Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat that endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. |
| [28]אמרינ לה מנא נעבד דנפלוח עבדא דאלהא |
[28]Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? |
| [29]ענא ישׁוע ואמר להונ הנו עבדא דאלהא דתהימנונ במנ דהו שׁדר |
[29]Jesus answered, and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe in him, whom he hath sent. |
| [30]אמרינ לה מנא אתא עבד אנת דנחזא ונהימנ בכ מנא סער אנת |
[30]They said therefore unto him, What sign showest thou then, that we may see it, and believe thee? what doest thou work? |
| [31]אבהינ מננא אכלו במדברא איכנא דכתיב דלחמא מנ שׁמיא יהב להונ למאכל |
[31]Our fathers did eat Manna in the desert, as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. |
| [32]אמר להונ ישׁוע אמינ אמינ אמר אנא לכונ דלא הוא מושׁא יהב לכונ לחמא מנ שׁמיא אלא אבי יהב לכונ לחמא דקושׁתא מנ שׁמיא |
[32]Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. |
| [33]לחמה גיר דאלהא איתוהי הו דנחת מנ שׁמיא ויהב חיא לעלמא |
[33]For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. |
| [34]אמרינ לה מרנ בכלזבנ הב לנ לחמא הנא |
[34]Then they said unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. |
| [35]אמר להונ ישׁוע אנא אנא לחמא דחיא מנ דאתא לותי לא נכפנ ומנ דמהימנ בי לא נצהא לעלמ |
[35]And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me, shall not hunger, and he that believeth in me, shall never thirst. |
| [36]אלא אמרת לכונ דחזיתונני ולא מהימנינ אנתונ |
[36]But I said unto you, that ye also have seen me, and believe not. |
| [37]כל דיהב לי אבי לותי נאתא ומנ דלותי נאתא לא אפקה לבר |
[37]All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me: and him that cometh to me, I cast not away. |
| [38]דנחתת מנ שׁמיא לא הוא דאעבד צביני אלא דאעבד צבינה דמנ דשׁדרני |
[38]For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but his will which hath sent me. |
| [39]הנו דינ צבינה דמנ דשׁדרני דכל דיהב לי לא אובד מנה אלא אקימיוהי ביומא אחריא |
[39]And this is the Fathers will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. |
| [40]הנו גיר צבינה דאבי דכל דחזא לברא ומהימנ בה נהוונ לה חיא דלעלמ ואנא אקימיוהי ביומא אחריא |
[40]And this is the will of him that sent me, that every man which seeth the Son, and believeth in him, should have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. |
| [41]יהודיא דינ רטנינ הוו עלוהי דאמר דאנא אנא לחמא דנחתת מנ שׁמיא |
[41]The Jews then murmured at him because he said, I am the bread, which is come down from heaven. |
| [42]ואמרינ הוו לא הוא הנא ישׁוע ברה דיוספ הו דחננ ידעינ לאבוהי ולאמה ואיכנא אמר הנא דמנ שׁמיא נחתת |
[42]And they said, Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then saith he, I came down from heaven? |
| [43]ענא ישׁוע ואמר להונ לא תרטנונ חד עמ חד |
[43]Jesus then answered, and said unto them, Murmur not among your selves. |
| [44]לא אנשׁ משׁכח דנאתא לותי אלא אנ נגדה אבא דשׁדרני ואנא אקימיוהי ביומא אחריא |
[44]No man can come to me, except the Father, which hath sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. |
| [45]כתיב גיר בנביא דנהוונ כלהונ מלפא דאלהא כל מנ דשׁמע הכיל מנ אבא וילפ מנה אתא לותי |
[45]It is written in the Prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me, |
| [46]לא הוא דחזא אנשׁ לאבא אלא מנ דמנ אלהא איתוהי הו הו חזא לאבא |
[46]Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. |
| [47]אמינ אמינ אמר אנא לכונ דמנ דמהימנ בי אית לה חיא דלעלמ |
[47]Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth in me, hath everlasting life. |
| [48]אנא אנא לחמא דחיא |
[48]I am the bread of life. |
| [49]אבהיכונ אכלו מננא במדברא ומיתו |
[49]Your fathers did eat Manna in the wilderness, and are dead. |
| [50]הנו דינ לחמא דנחת מנ שׁמיא דנאכול אנשׁ מנה ולא נמות |
[50]This is the bread, which cometh down from heaven, that he which eateth of it, should not die. |
| [51]אנא אנא לחמא חיא דמנ שׁמיא נחתת ואנ אנשׁ נאכול מנ הנא לחמא נחא לעלמ ולחמא אינא דאנא אתל פגרי הו דעל אפי חיוהי דעלמא יהב אנא |
[51]I am the living bread, which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. |
| [52]נצינ הוו דינ יהודיא חד עמ חד ואמרינ איכנא משׁכח הנא פגרה דנתל לנ למאכל |
[52]Then the Jews strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? |
| [53]ואמר להונ ישׁוע אמינ אמינ אמר אנא לכונ דאלא תאכלונ פגרה דברה דאנשׁא ותשׁתונ דמה לית לכונ חיא בקנומכונ |
[53]Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. |
| [54]מנ דאכל דינ מנ פגרי ושׁתא מנ דמי אית לה חיא דלעלמ ואנא אקימיוהי ביומא אחריא |
[54]Whosoever eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. |
| [55]פגרי גיר שׁריראית איתוהי מאכולתא ודמי שׁריראית איתוהי משׁתיא |
[55]For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. |
| [56]מנ דאכל פגרי ושׁתא דמי בי מקוא ואנא בה |
[56]He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. |
| [57]איכנא דשׁדרני אבא חיא ואנא חי אנא מטל אבא ומנ דנאכלני אפ הו נחא מטלתי |
[57]As the living Father hath sent me, so live I by the Father, and he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. |
| [58]הנו לחמא דנחת מנ שׁמיא לא הוא איכ דאכלו אבהיכונ מננא ומיתו מנ דאכל הנא לחמא נחא לעלמ |
[58]This is the bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers have eaten Manna, and are dead. He that eateth of this bread, shall live for ever. |
| [59]הלינ אמר בכנושׁתא כד מלפ בכפרנחומ |
[59]These things spake he in the Synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. |
| [60]וסגיאא דשׁמעו מנ תלמידוהי אמרינ קשׁיא הי מלתא הדא מנו משׁכח למשׁמעה |
[60]Many therefore of his disciples (when they heard this) said, This is an hard saying: who can hear it? |
| [61]ישׁוע דינ ידע בנפשׁה דרטנינ על הדא תלמידוהי ואמר להונ הדא מכשׁלא לכונ |
[61]But Jesus knowing in himself, that his disciples murmured at this, said unto them, Doth this offend you? |
| [62]אנ תחזונ הכיל לברה דאנשׁא דסלק לאתר דאיתוהי הוא מנ קדימ |
[62]What then if ye should see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? |
| [63]רוחא הי דמחיא פגרא לא מהנא מדמ מלא דאנא מללת עמכונ רוחא אנינ וחיא אנינ |
[63]It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, are spirit and life. |
| [64]אלא אית אנשׁא מנכונ דלא מהימנינ ידע הוא גיר ישׁוע מנ קדימ מנ אנונ אילינ דלא מהימנינ ומנו הו דמשׁלמ לה |
[64]But there are some of you that believe not: for Jesus knew from the beginning, which they were that believed not, and who should betray him. |
| [65]ואמר הוא להונ מטל הנא אמרת לכונ דלא אנשׁ משׁכח דנאתא לותי אלא יהיב לה מנ אבי |
[65]And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of my Father. |
| [66]מטל הדא מלתא סגיאא מנ תלמידוהי אזלו לבסתרהונ ולא מהלכינ הוו עמה |
[66]From that time, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. |
| [67]ואמר ישׁוע לתרעסרתה למא אפ אנתונ צבינ אנתונ למאזל |
[67]Then said Jesus to the twelve, Will ye also go away? |
| [68]ענא שׁמעונ כאפא ואמר מרי לות מנ נאזל מלא דחיא דלעלמ אית לכ |
[68]Then Simon Peter answered him, Master to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life: |
| [69]וחננ הימננ וידענ דאנת הו משׁיחא ברה דאלהא חיא |
[69]And we believe and know that thou art the Christ the Son of the living God. |
| [70]אמר להונ ישׁוע לא הוא אנא גביתכונ לתרעסר ומנכונ חד סטנא הו |
[70]Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve and one of you is a devil? |
| [71]אמר הוא דינ על יהודא בר שׁמעונ סכריוטא הו גיר עתיד הוא דנשׁלמיוהי חד מנ תרעסר |
[71]Now he spake it of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, though he was one of the twelve. |
