[1]And when Jabin king of Hazor had heard this, then he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph, |
| [2]καίC πρόςP ὁRA-APM βασιλεύςN3V-APM ὁRA-APM κατάP *σιδώνN--ASF ὁRA-ASF μέγαςA1-ASF εἰςP ὁRA-ASF ὀρεινήN1-ASF καίC εἰςP ὁRA-ASF *ραβαN--ASF ἀπέναντιP *κενερωθN--GS καίC εἰςP ὁRA-ASN πεδίονN2N-ASN καίC εἰςP *ναφεδδωρN--AS |
[2]And unto the kings that were by the north in the mountains and plains toward the south side of Cinnereth, and in the valleys, and in the borders of Dor westward, |
| [3]καίC εἰςP ὁRA-APM παράλιοςA1A-APM *χαναναῖοςN2-APM ἀπόP ἀνατολήN1-GPF καίC εἰςP ὁRA-APM παράλιοςA1A-APM *ἀμορραῖοςN2-APM καίC *ευαῖοςN2-APM καίC *ιεβουσαῖοςN2-APM καίC *φερεζαῖοςN2-APM ὁRA-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DSN ὄροςN3E-DSN καίC ὁRA-APM *χετταῖοςN2-APM ὁRA-APM ὑπόP ὁRA-ASF *αερμωνN--ASF εἰςP γῆN1-ASF *μασσηφαN--GS |
[3]And unto the Canaanites, both by east, and by west, and unto the Amorites, and Hittites, and Perizzites, and Jebusites in the mountains, and unto the Hivites under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh. |
| [4]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-NPM καίC ὁRA-NPM βασιλεύςN3V-NPM αὐτόςRD-GPM μετάP αὐτόςRD-GPM ὥσπερD ὁRA-NSF ἄμμοςN2-NSF ὁRA-GSF θάλασσαN1S-GSF ὁRA-DSN πλῆθοςN3E-DSN καίC ἵπποςN2-NPM καίC ἅρμαN3M-NPN πολύςA1-NPN σφόδραD |
[4]And they came out and all their hosts with them, many people as the sand that is on the sea shore for multitude, with horses and chariots exceeding many. |
| [5]καίC συνἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM βασιλεύςN3V-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM καίC παραγίγνομαιVBI-AMI3P ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN αὐτόςRD-ASN καίC παρα ἐνβάλλωVBI-AAI3P ἐπίP ὁRA-GSN ὕδωρN3-GSN *μαρρωνN--GS πολεμέωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM *ἰσραήλN--ASM |
[5]So all these kings met together, and came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, for to fight against Israel. |
| [6]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM πρόςP *ἰησοῦςN--ASM μήD φοβέωVC-APS2S ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN αὐτόςRD-GPM ὅτιC αὔριονD οὗτοςRD-ASF ὁRA-ASF ὥραN1A-ASF ἐγώRP-NS παραδίδωμιV8-PAI1S τροπέωVM-XMPAPM αὐτόςRD-APM ἐναντίονP ὁRA-GSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὁRA-APM ἵπποςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM νευροκοπέωVF-FAI2S καίC ὁRA-APN ἅρμαN3M-APN αὐτόςRD-GPM κατακαίωVF-FAI2S ἐνP πῦρN3-DSN |
[6]Then the Lord said unto Joshua, Be not afraid for them: for tomorrow about this time will I deliver them all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. |
| [7]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM καίC πᾶςA3-NSM ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM πολεμιστήςN1M-NSM ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN ὕδωρN3-ASN *μαρρωνN--GS ἐξάπιναD καίC ἐπιπίπτωVAI-AAI3P ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ὀρεινήN1-DSF |
[7]Then came Joshua and all the men of war with him against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them. |
| [8]καίC παραδίδωμιVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM κύριοςN2-NSM ὑποχείριοςA1A-APM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC κόπτωV1-PAPNPM αὐτόςRD-APM καταδιώκωV1I-IAI3P ἕωςP *σιδώνN--GSF ὁRA-GSF μέγαςA1-GSF καίC ἕωςP *μασερωνN--GS καίC ἕωςP ὁRA-GPN πεδίονN2N-GPN *μασσωχN--GS κατάP ἀνατολήN1-APF καίC κατακόπτωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-APM ἕωςP ὁRA-GSN μήD καταλείπωVV-APN αὐτόςRD-GPM διασώζωVM-XMPASM |
[8]And the Lord gave them into the hand of Israel: and they smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward, and smote them until they had none remaining of them. |
| [9]καίC ποιέωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM *ἰησοῦςN--NSM ὅςRR-ASM τρόποςN2-ASM ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-APM ἵπποςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM νευροκοπέωVAI-AAI3S καίC ὁRA-APN ἅρμαN3M-APN αὐτόςRD-GPM ἐνπίμπρημιVAI-AAI3S ἐνP πῦρN3-DSN |
[9]And Joshua did unto them as the Lord bade him: he houghed their horses, and burned their chariots with fire. |
| [10]καίC ἀποστρέφωVDI-API3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM καιρόςN2-DSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSM καίC καταλαμβάνωVBI-AMI3S *ασωρN--AS καίC ὁRA-ASM βασιλεύςN3V-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSF εἰμίV9-IAI3S δέX *ασωρN--NS ὁRA-NSN πρότεροςA1-NSN ἄρχωV1-PAPNSF πᾶςA1S-GPF ὁRA-GPF βασιλείαN1A-GPF οὗτοςRD-GPF |
[10]At that time also Joshua turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor before time was the head of all those kingdoms. |
| [11]καίC ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-ASN ἐμπνέοςA1B-ASN ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF ἐνP ξίφοςN3E-DSN καίC ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-APM καίC οὐD καταλείπωVVI-API3S ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF ἐμπνέοςA1B-ASN καίC ὁRA-ASF *ασωρN--ASF ἐνπίμπρημιVAI-AAI3P ἐνP πῦρN3-DSN |
[11]Moreover, they smote all the persons that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying all, leaving none alive, and he burned Hazor with fire. |
| [12]καίC πᾶςA1S-APF ὁRA-APF πόλιςN3I-APF ὁRA-GPM βασιλεύςN3V-GPM καίC ὁRA-APM βασιλεύςN3V-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM καίC ἀνααἱρέωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP στόμαN3M-DSN ξίφοςN3E-GSN καίC ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-APM ὅςRR-ASM τρόποςN2-ASM συντάσσωVAI-AAI3S *μωυσῆςN1M-NSM ὁRA-NSM παῖςN3D-NSM κύριοςN2-GSM |
[12]So all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded. |
| [13]ἀλλάC πᾶςA1S-APF ὁRA-APF πόλιςN3I-APF ὁRA-APF χωματίζωVT-XMPAPF οὐD ἐνπίμπρημιVAI-AAI3S *ἰσραήλN--NSM πλήνC *ασωρN--ASF μόνοςA1-ASF ἐνπίμπρημιVAI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM |
[13]But Israel burned none of the cities that stood still in their strength, save Hazor only, that Joshua burned. |
| [14]καίC πᾶςA3-APN ὁRA-APN σκῦλονN2N-APN αὐτόςRD-GSF προνομεύωVAI-AAI3P ἑαυτοῦRD-DPM ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM αὐτόςRD-APM δέX πᾶςA3-APM ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP στόμαN3M-DSN ξίφοςN3E-GSN ἕωςC ἀποὀλλύωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM οὐD καταλείπωVBI-AAI3P ἐκP αὐτόςRD-GPM οὐδέC εἷςA3-ASN ἐμπνέοςA1B-ASN |
[14]And all the spoil of these cities and the cattle the children of Israel took for their prey, but they smote every man with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, not leaving one alive. |
| [15]ὅςRR-ASM τρόποςN2-ASM συντάσσωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *μωυσῆςN1M-DSM ὁRA-DSM παῖςN3D-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC *μωυσῆςN1M-NSM ὡσαύτωςD ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S ὁRA-DSM *ἰησοῦςN--DSM καίC οὕτωςD ποιέωVAI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM οὐD παραβαίνωVZI-AAI3S οὐδείςA3-ASN ἀπόP πᾶςA3-GPN ὅςRR-GPN συντάσσωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM *μωυσῆςN1M-NSM |
[15]As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua: he left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses. |
| [16]καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF ὁRA-ASF ὀρεινήN1-ASF καίC πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF *ναγεβN--ASF καίC πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF *γοσομN--GS καίC ὁRA-ASF πεδεινόςA1-ASF καίC ὁRA-ASF πρόςP δυσμήN1-DPF καίC ὁRA-ASN ὄροςN3E-ASN *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC ὁRA-APN ταπεινόςA1-APN |
[16]So Joshua took all this land of the mountains, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the low country of the same, |
| [17]ὁRA-APN πρόςP ὁRA-DSN ὄροςN3E-DSN ἀπόP ὄροςN3E-GSN *αχελN--GS καίC ὅςRR-ASN προσ ἀναβαίνωV1-PAI3S εἰςP *σηιρN--AS καίC ἕωςP *βααλγαδN--GS καίC ὁRA-APN πεδίονN2N-APN ὁRA-GSM *λίβανοςN--GSM ὑπόP ὁRA-ASN ὄροςN3E-ASN ὁRA-ASN *αερμωνN--GS καίC πᾶςA3-APM ὁRA-APM βασιλεύςN3V-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S καίC ἀνααἱρέωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM καίC ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S |
[17]From the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon, under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them. |
| [18]καίC πολύςA3C-APF ἡμέραN1A-APF ποιέωVAI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM πρόςP ὁRA-APM βασιλεύςN3V-APM οὗτοςRD-APM ὁRA-ASM πόλεμοςN2-ASM |
[18]Joshua made war long time with all those kings, |
| [19]καίC οὐD εἰμίV9-IAI3S πόλιςN3I-NSF ὅςRR-ASF οὐD λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S *ἰσραήλN--NSM πᾶςA3-APN λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3P ἐνP πόλεμοςN2-DSM |
[19]Neither was there any city that made peace with the children of Israel, save those Hivites that inhabited Gibeon: all other they took by battle. |
| [20]ὅτιC διάP κύριοςN2-GSM γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S καταἰσχύωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-GPM ὁRA-ASF καρδίαN1A-ASF συνἀντάωV3-PAN εἰςP πόλεμοςN2-ASM πρόςP *ἰσραήλN--ASM ἵναC ἐκὀλεθρεύωVC-APS3P ὅπωςC μήD δίδωμιVC-APS3S αὐτόςRD-DPM ἔλεοςN3E-NSM ἀλλάC ἵναC ἐκὀλεθρεύωVC-APS3P ὅςRR-ASM τρόποςN2-ASM εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM πρόςP *μωυσῆςN1M-ASM |
[20]For it came of the Lord, to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle to the intent that they should destroy them utterly, and show them no mercy, but that they should bring them to naught: as the Lord had commanded Moses. |
| [21]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM καιρόςN2-DSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSM καίC ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM *ενακιμN--APM ἐκP ὁRA-GSF ὀρεινήN1-GSF ἐκP *χεβρωνN--GS καίC ἐκP *δαβιρN--GS καίC ἐκP *αναβωθN--GS καίC ἐκP πᾶςA3-GSN γένοςN3E-GSN *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC ἐκP πᾶςA3-GSN ὄροςN3E-GSN *ιουδαN--GS σύνP ὁRA-DPF πόλιςN3I-DPF αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM *ἰησοῦςN--NSM |
[21]And that same season came Joshua, and destroyed the Anakims out of the mountains: as out of Hebron, out of Debir, out of Anab, and out of all the mountains of Judah, and out of all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. |
| [22]οὐD καταλείπωVVI-API3S ὁRA-GPM *ενακιμN--GPM ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἀλλάC πλήνD ἐνP *γάζαN1A-DSF καίC ἐνP *γεθN--DS καίC ἐνP *ασεδωθN--DS καταλείπωVVI-API3S |
[22]There was no Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Azzah, in Gath, and in Ashdod were they left. |
| [23]καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF καθότιD ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *μωυσῆςN1M-DSM καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM *ἰησοῦςN--NSM ἐνP κληρονομίαN1A-DSF *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐνP μερισμόςN2-DSM κατάP φυλήN1-APF αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ὁRA-NSF γῆN1-NSF καταπαύωVAI-AAI3S πολεμέωV2-PMPNSF |
[23]So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had said unto Moses: and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their portion through their tribes: then the land was at rest without war. |
