[1]καὶ συνήγαγεν ἰησοῦς πάσας φυλὰς ισραηλ εἰς σηλω καὶ συνεκάλεσεν τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς δικαστὰς αὐτῶν καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτοὺς ἀπέναντι τοῦ θεοῦ	[1]And Joshua gathered all the tribe of Israel to Selo, and convoked their elders, and their officers, and their judges, and set them before God.
[2]καὶ εἶπεν ἰησοῦς πρὸς πάντα τὸν λαόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ισραηλ πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ κατῴκησαν οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν τὸ ἀπ ἀρχῆς θαρα ὁ πατὴρ αβρααμ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ναχωρ καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν θεοῖς ἑτέροις	[2]And Joshua said to all the people, Thus says the Lord God of Israel, Your fathers at first sojourned beyond the river, even Thara, the father of Abraam and the father of Nachor; and they served other gods.
[3]καὶ ἔλαβον τὸν πατέρα ὑμῶν τὸν αβρααμ ἐκ τοῦ πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ὡδήγησα αὐτὸν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ καὶ ἐπλήθυνα αὐτοῦ σπέρμα καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτῷ τὸν ισαακ	[3]And I took your father Abraam from the other side of the river, and I guided him through all the land, and I multiplied his seed;
[4]καὶ τῷ ισαακ τὸν ιακωβ καὶ τὸν ησαυ καὶ ἔδωκα τῷ ησαυ τὸ ὄρος τὸ σηιρ κληρονομῆσαι αὐτῷ καὶ ιακωβ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ κατέβησαν εἰς αἴγυπτον καὶ ἐγένοντο ἐκεῖ εἰς ἔθνος μέγα καὶ πολὺ καὶ κραταιόν	[4]and I gave to him Isaac, and to Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave to Esau mount Seir for him to inherit: and Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt, and became there a great and populous and mighty nation: and the Egyptians afflicted them.
[5]καὶ ἐκάκωσαν αὐτοὺς οἱ αἰγύπτιοι καὶ ἐπάταξεν κύριος τὴν αἴγυπτον ἐν οἷς ἐποίησεν αὐτοῖς καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξήγαγεν ὑμᾶς	[5]And I smote Egypt with the wonders that I wrought among them.
[6]ἐξ αἰγύπτου καὶ εἰσήλθατε εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν ἐρυθράν καὶ κατεδίωξαν οἱ αἰγύπτιοι ὀπίσω τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν ἐν ἅρμασιν καὶ ἐν ἵπποις εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν ἐρυθράν	[6]And afterwards God brought out our fathers from Egypt, and ye entered into the Red Sea; and the Egyptians pursued after our fathers with chariots and horses into the Red Sea.
[7]καὶ ἀνεβοήσαμεν πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἔδωκεν νεφέλην καὶ γνόφον ἀνὰ μέσον ἡμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν αἰγυπτίων καὶ ἐπήγαγεν ἐπ αὐτοὺς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ ἐκάλυψεν αὐτούς καὶ εἴδοσαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ἐν γῇ αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἦτε ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἡμέρας πλείους	[7]And we cried aloud to the Lord; and he put a cloud and darkness between us and the Egyptians, and he brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen all that the Lord did in the land of Egypt; and ye were in the wilderness many days.
[8]καὶ ἤγαγεν ὑμᾶς εἰς γῆν αμορραίων τῶν κατοικούντων πέραν τοῦ ιορδάνου καὶ παρετάξαντο ὑμῖν καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς κύριος εἰς τὰς χεῖρας ὑμῶν καὶ κατεκληρονομήσατε τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐξωλεθρεύσατε αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν	[8]And he brought us into the land of the Amorites that dwelt beyond Jordan, and the Lord delivered them into our hands; and ye inherited their land, and utterly destroyed them from before you.
[9]καὶ ἀνέστη βαλακ ὁ τοῦ σεπφωρ βασιλεὺς μωαβ καὶ παρετάξατο τῷ ισραηλ καὶ ἀποστείλας ἐκάλεσεν τὸν βαλααμ ἀράσασθαι ὑμῖν	[9]And Balac, king of Moab, son of Sepphor, rose up, and made war against Israel, and sent and called Balaam to curse us.
[10]καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἀπολέσαι σε καὶ εὐλογίαν εὐλόγησεν ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξείλατο ὑμᾶς ἐκ χειρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτούς	[10]But the Lord thy God would not destroy thee; and he greatly blessed us, and rescued us out of their hands, and delivered them to us.
[11]καὶ διέβητε τὸν ιορδάνην καὶ παρεγενήθητε εἰς ιεριχω καὶ ἐπολέμησαν πρὸς ὑμᾶς οἱ κατοικοῦντες ιεριχω ὁ αμορραῖος καὶ ὁ χαναναῖος καὶ ὁ φερεζαῖος καὶ ὁ ευαῖος καὶ ὁ ιεβουσαῖος καὶ ὁ χετταῖος καὶ ὁ γεργεσαῖος καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς κύριος εἰς τὰς χεῖρας ὑμῶν	[11]And ye crossed over Jordan, and came to Jericho; and the inhabitants of Jericho fought against us, the Amorite, and the Chananite, and the Pherezite, and the Evite, and the Jebusite, and the Chettite, and the Gergesite, and the Lord delivered them into our hands.
[12]καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν προτέραν ὑμῶν τὴν σφηκιάν καὶ ἐξέβαλεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν δώδεκα βασιλεῖς τῶν αμορραίων οὐκ ἐν τῇ ῥομφαίᾳ σου οὐδὲ ἐν τῷ τόξῳ σου	[12]And he sent forth the hornet before you; and he drove them out from before you, even twelve kings of the Amorites, not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.
[13]καὶ ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν γῆν ἐφ ἣν οὐκ ἐκοπιάσατε ἐπ αὐτῆς καὶ πόλεις ἃς οὐκ ᾠκοδομήσατε καὶ κατῳκίσθητε ἐν αὐταῖς καὶ ἀμπελῶνας καὶ ἐλαιῶνας οὓς οὐκ ἐφυτεύσατε ὑμεῖς ἔδεσθε	[13]And he gave you a land on which ye did not labour, and cities which ye did not build, and ye were settled in them; and ye eat of vineyards and oliveyards which ye did not plant.
[14]καὶ νῦν φοβήθητε κύριον καὶ λατρεύσατε αὐτῷ ἐν εὐθύτητι καὶ ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ περιέλεσθε τοὺς θεοὺς τοὺς ἀλλοτρίους οἷς ἐλάτρευσαν οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ἐν αἰγύπτῳ καὶ λατρεύετε κυρίῳ	[14]And now fear the Lord, and serve him in righteousness and justice; and remove the strange gods, which our fathers served beyond the river, and in Egypt; and serve the Lord.
[15]εἰ δὲ μὴ ἀρέσκει ὑμῖν λατρεύειν κυρίῳ ἕλεσθε ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς σήμερον τίνι λατρεύσητε εἴτε τοῖς θεοῖς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν τοῖς ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ εἴτε τοῖς θεοῖς τῶν αμορραίων ἐν οἷς ὑμεῖς κατοικεῖτε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν ἐγὼ δὲ καὶ ἡ οἰκία μου λατρεύσομεν κυρίῳ ὅτι ἅγιός ἐστιν	[15]But if it seem not good to you to serve the Lord, choose to yourselves this day whom ye will serve, whether the gods of your fathers that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, among whom ye dwell upon their land: but I and my house will serve the Lord, for he is holy.
[16]καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ λαὸς εἶπεν μὴ γένοιτο ἡμῖν καταλιπεῖν κύριον ὥστε λατρεύειν θεοῖς ἑτέροις	[16]And the people answered and said, Far be it from us to forsake the Lord, so as to serve other gods.
[17]κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν αὐτὸς θεός ἐστιν αὐτὸς ἀνήγαγεν ἡμᾶς καὶ τοὺς πατέρας ἡμῶν ἐξ αἰγύπτου καὶ διεφύλαξεν ἡμᾶς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ ὁδῷ ᾗ ἐπορεύθημεν ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν οὓς παρήλθομεν δι αὐτῶν	[17]The Lord our God, he is God; he brought up us and our fathers from Egypt, and kept us in all the way wherein we walked, and among all the nations through whom we passed.
[18]καὶ ἐξέβαλεν κύριος τὸν αμορραῖον καὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τὰ κατοικοῦντα τὴν γῆν ἀπὸ προσώπου ἡμῶν ἀλλὰ καὶ ἡμεῖς λατρεύσομεν κυρίῳ οὗτος γὰρ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐστιν	[18]And the Lord cast out the Amorite, and all the nations that inhabited the land from before us: yea, we will serve the Lord, for he is our God.
[19]καὶ εἶπεν ἰησοῦς πρὸς τὸν λαόν οὐ μὴ δύνησθε λατρεύειν κυρίῳ ὅτι θεὸς ἅγιός ἐστιν καὶ ζηλώσας οὗτος οὐκ ἀνήσει ὑμῶν τὰ ἁμαρτήματα καὶ τὰ ἀνομήματα ὑμῶν	[19]And Joshua said to the people, Indeed ye will not be able to serve the Lord, for God is holy; and he being jealous will not forgive your sins and your transgressions.
[20]ἡνίκα ἐὰν ἐγκαταλίπητε κύριον καὶ λατρεύσητε θεοῖς ἑτέροις καὶ ἐπελθὼν κακώσει ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξαναλώσει ὑμᾶς ἀνθ ὧν εὖ ἐποίησεν ὑμᾶς	[20]Whensoever ye shall forsake the Lord and serve other gods, then he shall come upon you and afflict you, and consume you, because he has done you good.
[21]καὶ εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς πρὸς ἰησοῦν οὐχί ἀλλὰ κυρίῳ λατρεύσομεν	[21]And the people said to Joshua, Nay, but we will serve the Lord.
[22]καὶ εἶπεν ἰησοῦς πρὸς τὸν λαόν μάρτυρες ὑμεῖς καθ ὑμῶν ὅτι ὑμεῖς ἐξελέξασθε κύριον λατρεύειν αὐτῷ	[22]And Joshua said to the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves, that ye have chosen the Lord to serve him.
[23]καὶ νῦν περιέλεσθε τοὺς θεοὺς τοὺς ἀλλοτρίους τοὺς ἐν ὑμῖν καὶ εὐθύνατε τὴν καρδίαν ὑμῶν πρὸς κύριον θεὸν ισραηλ	[23]And now take away the strange gods that are among you, and set your heart right toward the Lord God of Israel.
[24]καὶ εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς πρὸς ἰησοῦν κυρίῳ λατρεύσομεν καὶ τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκουσόμεθα	[24]And the people said to Joshua, We will serve the Lord, and we will hearken to his voice.
[25]καὶ διέθετο ἰησοῦς διαθήκην πρὸς τὸν λαὸν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ νόμον καὶ κρίσιν ἐν σηλω ἐνώπιον τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ θεοῦ ισραηλ	[25]So Joshua made a covenant with the people on that day, and gave them a law and an ordinance in Selo before the tabernacle of the God of Israel.
[26]καὶ ἔγραψεν τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα εἰς βιβλίον νόμον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἔλαβεν λίθον μέγαν καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτὸν ἰησοῦς ὑπὸ τὴν τερέμινθον ἀπέναντι κυρίου	[26]And he wrote these words in the book of the laws of God: and Joshua took a great stone, and set it up under the oak before the Lord.
[27]καὶ εἶπεν ἰησοῦς πρὸς τὸν λαόν ἰδοὺ ὁ λίθος οὗτος ἔσται ἐν ὑμῖν εἰς μαρτύριον ὅτι αὐτὸς ἀκήκοεν πάντα τὰ λεχθέντα αὐτῷ ὑπὸ κυρίου ὅ τι ἐλάλησεν πρὸς ἡμᾶς σήμερον καὶ ἔσται οὗτος ἐν ὑμῖν εἰς μαρτύριον ἐπ ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἡνίκα ἐὰν ψεύσησθε κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ μου	[27]And Joshua said to the people, Behold, this stone shall be among you for a witness, for it has heard all the words that have been spoken to it by the Lord; for he has spoken to you this day; and this stone shall be among you for a witness in the last days, whenever ye shall deal falsely with the Lord my God.
[28]καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἰησοῦς τὸν λαόν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ	[28]And Joshua dismissed the people, and they went every man to his place.
[29]καὶ ἐλάτρευσεν ισραηλ τῷ κυρίῳ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἰησοῦ καὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῶν πρεσβυτέρων ὅσοι ἐφείλκυσαν τὸν χρόνον μετὰ ἰησοῦ καὶ ὅσοι εἴδοσαν πάντα τὰ ἔργα κυρίου ὅσα ἐποίησεν τῷ ισραηλ	[29]And it came to pass after these things that Joshua the son of Naue the servant of the Lord died, at the age of a hundred and ten years.
[30]καὶ ἐγένετο μετ ἐκεῖνα καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἰησοῦς υἱὸς ναυη δοῦλος κυρίου ἑκατὸν δέκα ἐτῶν	[30]And they buried him by the borders of his inheritance in Thamnasarach in the mount of Ephraim, northward of the mount of Galaad: there they put with him into the tomb in which they buried him, the knives of stone with which he circumcised the children of Israel in Galgala, when he brought them out of Egypt, as the Lord appointed them; and there they are to this day.
