[1]And it came to pass, when all the nation were clean passed over the Jordan, that 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 spoke unto Joshua, saying: |
| [2]παραλαμβάνωVB-AAPNSM ἀνήρN3-APM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM εἷςA3-ASM ἀπόP ἕκαστοςA1-GSF φυλήN1-GSF |
[2]'Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man, |
| [3]συντάσσωVA-AAD2S αὐτόςRD-DPM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἀνααἱρέωVB-AMD2P ἐκP μέσοςA1-GSN ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM ἕτοιμοςA1-APM δώδεκαM λίθοςN2-APM καίC οὗτοςRD-APM διακομίζωVA-AAPNPM ἅμαP σύRP-DP αὐτόςRD-DPM τίθημιVE-AAD2P αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF στρατοπεδείαN1A-DSF σύRP-GP οὗD ἐάνC παρα ἐνβάλλωVB-AAS2P ἐκεῖD ὁRA-ASF νύξN3-ASF |
[3]And command ye them, saying: Take you hence out of the midst of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood, twelve stones made ready, and carry them over with you, and lay them down in the lodging-place, where ye shall lodge this night.' |

[4]Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man; |
| [5]εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM προςἄγωVB-AAD2P ἔμπροσθενP ἐγώRP-GS πρόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN κύριοςN2-GSM εἰςP μέσοςA1-ASN ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM καίC ἀνααἱρέωVB-AMPNSM ἐκεῖθενD ἕκαστοςA1-NSM λίθοςN2-ASM αἴρωVA-AAD3S ἐπίP ὁRA-GPM ὦμοςN2-GPM αὐτόςRD-GSM κατάP ὁRA-ASM ἀριθμόςN2-ASM ὁRA-GPF δώδεκαM φυλήN1-GPF ὁRA-GSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
[5]And Joshua said unto them: 'Pass on before the ark of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel; |
| [6]ἵναC ὑποἄρχωV1-PAS3P σύRP-DP οὗτοςRD-NPM εἰςP σημεῖονN2-ASN κεῖμαιV5-PMPASN διάP πᾶςA3-GSM ἵναC ὅτανD ἐρωτάωV3-PAS3S σύRP-AS ὁRA-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM σύRP-GS αὔριονD λέγωV1-PAPNSM τίςRI-NSN εἰμίV9-PAI3P ὁRA-NPM λίθοςN2-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM σύRP-DP |
[6]That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask in time to come, saying: What mean ye by these stones? |
| [7]καίC σύRP-NS δηλόωVF-FAI2S ὁRA-DSM υἱόςN2-DSM σύRP-GS λέγωV1-PAPNSM ὅτιC ἐκλείπωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-NSM ποταμόςN2-NSM ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN κιβωτόςN2-GSF διαθήκηN1-GSF κύριοςN2-GSM πᾶςA1S-GSF ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF ὡςC διαβαίνωV1I-IAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3P ὁRA-NPM λίθοςN2-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM σύRP-DP μνημόσυνονN2N-NSN ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἕωςP ὁRA-GSM αἰώνN3W-GSM |
[7]Then ye shall say unto them: Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇; when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off; and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.' |
| [8]καίC ποιέωVAI-AAI3P οὕτωςD ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καθότιD ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *ἰησοῦςN--DSM καίC λαμβάνωVB-AAPNPM δώδεκαM λίθοςN2-APM ἐκP μέσοςA1-GSN ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM καθάπερD συντάσσωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *ἰησοῦςN--DSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF συντέλειαN1A-DSF ὁRA-GSF διάβασιςN3I-GSF ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC διακομίζωVAI-AAI3P ἅμαP ἑαυτοῦRD-DPM εἰςP ὁRA-ASF παρεμβολήN1-ASF καίC ἀποτίθημιVHI-AAI3P ἐκεῖD |
[8]And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 spoke unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel; and they carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there. |
| [9]ἵστημιVAI-AAI3S δέX *ἰησοῦςN--NSM καίD ἄλλοςRD-APM δώδεκαM λίθοςN2-APM ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-DSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-DSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM γίγνομαιVB-AMPDSM τόποςN2-DSM ὑπόP ὁRA-APM πούςN3D-APM ὁRA-GPM ἱερεύςN3V-GPM ὁRA-GPM αἴρωV1-PAPGPM ὁRA-ASF κιβωτόςN2-ASF ὁRA-GSF διαθήκηN1-GSF κύριοςN2-GSM καίC εἰμίV9-PAI3P ἐκεῖD ἕωςP ὁRA-GSF σήμερονD ἡμέραN1A-GSF |
[9]Joshua also set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there unto this day. |
| [10]ἵστημιVXI-YAI3P δέX ὁRA-NPM ἱερεύςN3V-NPM ὁRA-NPM αἴρωV1-PAPNPM ὁRA-ASF κιβωτόςN2-ASF ὁRA-GSF διαθήκηN1-GSF ἐνP ὁRA-DSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-DSM ἕωςP ὅςRR-GSM συντελέωVAI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM πᾶςA3-APN ὅςRR-APN ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἀναἀγγέλλωVA-AAN ὁRA-DSM λαόςN2-DSM καίC σπεύδωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM καίC διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3P |
[10]And the priests that bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan, until every thing was finished that 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua; and the people hastened and passed over. |
| [11]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὡςC συντελέωVAI-AAI3S πᾶςA3-NSM ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM διαβαίνωVZ-AAN καίC διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF κιβωτόςN2-NSF ὁRA-GSF διαθήκηN1-GSF κύριοςN2-GSM καίC ὁRA-NPM λίθοςN2-NPM ἔμπροσθενP αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[11]And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 passed on, and the priests, before the people. |
| [12]καίC διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ρουβηνN--GS καίC ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *γαδN--GS καίC ὁRA-NPM ἥμισυςA3U-NPM φυλήN1-GSF *μανασσήN--GS διασκευάζωVT-XMPNPM ἔμπροσθενP ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καθάπερD ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM *μωυσῆςN1M-NSM |
[12]And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, passed on armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spoke unto them; |
| [13]τετρακισμύριοιA1A-NPM εὔζωνοςA1B-NPM εἰςP μάχηN1-ASF διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ἐναντίονP κύριοςN2-GSM εἰςP πόλεμοςN2-ASM πρόςP ὁRA-ASF *ιεριχωN--GSF πόλιςN3I-ASF |
[13]About forty thousand ready armed for war passed on in the presence of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 unto battle, to the plains of Jericho. |
| [14]ἐνP ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF αὐξάνωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASM *ἰησοῦςN--ASM ἐναντίονP πᾶςA3-GSN ὁRA-GSN γένοςN3E-GSN *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC φοβέωV2I-IMI3P αὐτόςRD-ASM ὥσπερD *μωυσῆςN1M-ASM ὅσοςA1-ASM χρόνοςN2-ASM ζάωV3I-IAI3S |
[14]On that day 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life. |
| [15]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *ἰησοῦςN--DSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM |
[15]And 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 spoke unto Joshua, saying: |
| [16]ἐντέλλομαιVA-AMD2S ὁRA-DPM ἱερεύςN3V-DPM ὁRA-DPM αἴρωV1-PAPDPM ὁRA-ASF κιβωτόςN2-ASF ὁRA-GSF διαθήκηN1-GSF ὁRA-GSN μαρτύριονN2N-GSN κύριοςN2-GSM ἐκβαίνωVZ-AAN ἐκP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM |
[16]'Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of the Jordan.' |
| [17]καίC ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM ὁRA-DPM ἱερεύςN3V-DPM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἐκβαίνωVZ-AAD2P ἐκP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM |
[17]Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying: 'Come ye up out of the Jordan.' |
| [18]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὡςC ἐκβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM ἱερεύςN3V-NPM ὁRA-NPM αἴρωV1-PAPNPM ὁRA-ASF κιβωτόςN2-ASF ὁRA-GSF διαθήκηN1-GSF κύριοςN2-GSM ἐκP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM καίC τίθημιVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-APM πούςN3D-APM ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF ὁρμάωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSN ὕδωρN3-NSN ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM κατάP χώραN1A-ASF καίC πορεύομαιV1I-IMI3S καθάD χθέςD καίC τρίτοςA1-ASF ἡμέραN1A-ASF διάP ὅλοςA1-GSF ὁRA-GSF κρηπίςN3D-GSF |
[18]And it came to pass, as the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 came up out of the midst of the Jordan, as soon as the soles of the priests' feet were drawn up unto the dry ground, that the waters of the Jordan returned unto their place, and went over all its banks, as aforetime. |
| [19]καίC ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S ἐκP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM δέκατοςA1-DSF ὁRA-GSM μήνN3-GSM ὁRA-GSM πρῶτοςA1-GSMS καίC καταστρατοπεδεύωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐνP *γάλγαλαN--DPF κατάP μέροςN3E-ASN ὁRA-ASN πρόςP ἥλιοςN2-GSM ἀνατολήN1-APF ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF *ιεριχωN--GSF |
[19]And the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, on the east border of Jericho. |
| [20]καίC ὁRA-APM δώδεκαM λίθοςN2-APM οὗτοςRD-APM ὅςRR-APM λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ἐκP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM ἵστημιVAI-AAI3S *ἰησοῦςN--NSM ἐνP *γάλγαλαN--DPF |
[20]And those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, did Joshua set up in Gilgal. |
| [21]λέγωV1-PAPNSM ὅτανD ἐρωτάωV3-PAS3P σύRP-AP ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM σύRP-GP λέγωV1-PAPNPM τίςRI-NSN εἰμίV9-PAI3P ὁRA-NPM λίθοςN2-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM |
[21]And he spoke unto the children of Israel, saying: 'When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying: What mean these stones? |
| [22]ἀναἀγγέλλωVA-AAD2P ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM σύRP-GP ὅτιC ἐπίP ξηρόςA1A-GSF διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3S *ἰσραήλN--NSM ὁRA-ASM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-ASM |
[22]Then ye shall let your children know, saying: Israel came over this Jordan on dry land. |
| [23]ἀποξηραίνωVA-AAPGSM κύριοςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM ἐγώRP-GP ὁRA-ASN ὕδωρN3-ASN ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM ἐκP ὁRA-GSN ἔμπροσθενP αὐτόςRD-GPM μέχριP ὅςRR-GSM διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3P καθάπερD ποιέωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GP ὁRA-ASF ἐρυθρόςA1A-ASF θάλασσαN1S-ASF ὅςRR-ASF ἀποξηραίνωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GP ἔμπροσθενP ἐγώRP-GP ἕωςC παραἔρχομαιVBI-AAI1P |
[23]For 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up from before us, until we were passed over, |
| [24]ὅπωςC γιγνώσκωVZ-AAS3P πᾶςA3-NPN ὁRA-NPN ἔθνοςN3E-NPN ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF ὅτιC ὁRA-NSF δύναμιςN3I-NSF ὁRA-GSM κύριοςN2-GSM ἰσχυρόςA1A-NSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S καίC ἵναC σύRP-NP σέβωV1-PMS2P κύριοςN2-ASM ὁRA-ASM θεόςN2-ASM σύRP-GP ἐνP πᾶςA3-DSM χρόνοςN2-DSM |
[24]That all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, that it is mighty; that ye may fear 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 your God for ever.' |
