[1]The Lord spak to Moises, and seide, |
[2]SpeakH1696[H8761] unto all the congregationH5712 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, and sayH559[H8804] unto them, Ye shall be holyH6918: for I the LORDH3068 your GodH430 am holyH6918. |
[2]Speke thou to al the cumpenye of the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, Be ye hooli, for Y am hooli, youre Lord God. |
[3]Ye shall fearH3372[H8799] every manH376 his motherH517, and his fatherH1, and keepH8104[H8799] my sabbathsH7676: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430. |
[3]Ech man drede his fadir and his modir. Kepe ye my sabatis; Y am youre Lord God. |
[4]TurnH6437[H8799] ye not unto idolsH457, nor makeH6213[H8799] to yourselves moltenH4541 godsH430: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430. |
[4]Nyle ye be turned to ydols, nether ye schulen make to you yotun goddis; Y am youre Lord God. |
[5]And if ye offerH2076[H8799] a sacrificeH2077 of peace offeringsH8002 unto the LORDH3068, ye shall offerH2076[H8799] it at your own willH7522. |
[5]If ye offren a sacrifice of pesible thingis to the Lord, that it be quemeful, |
[6]It shall be eatenH398[H8735] the same dayH3117 ye offerH2077 it, and on the morrowH4283: and if ought remainH3498[H8737] until the thirdH7992 dayH3117, it shall be burntH8313[H8735] in the fireH784. |
[6]ye schulen ete it in that day, in which it is offrid, and in the tother dai; sotheli what euer thing is residue in to the thridde dai, ye schulen brenne in fier. |
[7]And if it be eatenH398[H8735] at allH398[H8736] on the thirdH7992 dayH3117, it is abominableH6292; it shall not be acceptedH7521.[H8735] |
[7]If ony man etith therof aftir twei daes, he schal be vnhooli, and gilti of vnfeithfulnes `ether wickidnesse; and he schal bere his wickidnesse, |
[8]Therefore every one that eatethH398[H8802] it shall bearH5375[H8799] his iniquityH5771, because he hath profanedH2490[H8765] the hallowed thingH6944 of the LORDH3068: and that soulH5315 shall be cut offH3772[H8738] from among his peopleH5971. |
[8]for he defoulide the hooli thing of the Lord, and his soule schal perische fro his puple. |
[9]And when ye reapH7114[H8800] the harvestH7105 of your landH776, thou shalt not wholly reapH3615[H8762] the cornersH6285 of thy fieldH7704, neither shalt thou gatherH3950[H8762] the gleaningsH3951 of thy harvestH7105. |
[9]Whanne thou schalt repe the fruytis of thi lond, thou schalt not kitte `til to the ground the corn of the lond, nether thou schalt gadere the eeris of corn that ben left; |
[10]And thou shalt not gleanH5953[H8779] thy vineyardH3754, neither shalt thou gatherH3950[H8762] every grapeH6528 of thy vineyardH3754; thou shalt leaveH5800[H8799] them for the poorH6041 and strangerH1616: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430. |
[10]nethir in thi vyner thou schalt gadere reysyns and greynes fallynge doun, but thou schalt leeue to be gaderid of pore men and pilgryms; Y am youre Lord God. |
[11]Ye shall not stealH1589[H8799], neither deal falselyH3584[H8762], neither lieH8266[H8762] oneH376 to anotherH5997. |
[11]Ye schulen not do thefte. Ye schulen not lye, and no man disseyue his neiybour. |
[12]And ye shall not swearH7650[H8735] by my nameH8034 falselyH8267, neither shalt thou profaneH2490[H8765] the nameH8034 of thy GodH430: I am the LORDH3068. |
[12]Thou schalt not forswere in my name, nethir thou schalt defoule the name of thi God; Y am the Lord. |
[13]Thou shalt not defraudH6231[H8799] thy neighbourH7453, neither robH1497[H8799] him: the wagesH6468 of him that is hiredH7916 shall not abideH3885[H8799] with thee all night until the morningH1242. |
[13]Thou schalt not make fals chalenge to thi neiybore, nethir thou schalt oppresse hym bi violence. The werk of thin hirid man schal not dwelle at thee til the morewtid. |
[14]Thou shalt not curseH7043[H8762] the deafH2795, nor putH5414[H8799] a stumblingblockH4383 beforeH6440 the blindH5787, but shalt fearH3372[H8804] thy GodH430: I am the LORDH3068. |
[14]Thou schalt not curse a deef man, nether thou schalt sette an hurtyng bifor a blynd man; but thou schalt drede thi Lord God, for Y am the Lord. |
[15]Ye shall doH6213[H8799] no unrighteousnessH5766 in judgmentH4941: thou shalt not respectH5375[H8799] the personH6440 of the poorH1800, nor honourH1921[H8799] the personH6440 of the mightyH1419: but in righteousnessH6664 shalt thou judgeH8199[H8799] thy neighbourH5997. |
[15]Thou schalt not do that, that is wickid, nether thou schalt deme vniustli; biholde thou not the persoone of a pore man, nethir onoure thou the face of a myyti man; deme thou iustli to thi neiybore. |
[16]Thou shalt not goH3212[H8799] up and down as a talebearerH7400 among thy peopleH5971: neither shalt thou standH5975[H8799] against the bloodH1818 of thy neighbourH7453: I am the LORDH3068. |
[16]Thou schalt not be a sclaunderere, nether a priuey bacbitere in the puplis; thou schalt not stonde ayens the blood of thi neiybore; Y am the Lord. |
[17]Thou shalt not hateH8130[H8799] thy brotherH251 in thine heartH3824: thou shalt in any wiseH3198[H8687] rebukeH3198[H8686] thy neighbourH5997, and not sufferH5375[H8799] sin upon himH2399. |
[17]Thou schalt not hate thi brothir in thin herte, but repreue hym opynly, lest thou haue synne on hym. |
[18]Thou shalt not avengeH5358[H8799], nor bear any grudgeH5201[H8799] against the childrenH1121 of thy peopleH5971, but thou shalt loveH157[H8804] thy neighbourH7453 as thyselfH3644: I am the LORDH3068. |
[18]Thou schalt not seke veniaunce, nether thou schalt be myndeful of the wrong of thi cyteseyns; thou schalt loue thi freend as thi silf; Y am the Lord. |
[19]Ye shall keepH8104[H8799] my statutesH2708. Thou shalt not let thy cattleH929 genderH7250[H8686] with a diverse kindH3610: thou shalt not sowH2232[H8799] thy fieldH7704 with mingled seedH3610: neither shall a garmentH899 mingledH3610 of linen and woollenH8162 comeH5927 upon theeH8799. |
[19]Kepe ye my lawis. Thou schalt not make thi beestis to gendre with the lyuynge beestis of another kynde. Thou schalt not sowe the feeld with dyuerse sede. Thou schalt not be clothid in a cloth, which is wouun of twei thingis. |
[20]And whosoeverH376 liethH7901[H8799] carnallyH2233[H7902] with a womanH802, that is a bondmaidH8198, betrothedH2778[H8737] to an husbandH376, and not at allH6299[H8715] redeemedH6299[H8738], nor freedomH2668 givenH5414[H8738] her; she shall be scourgedH1244; they shall not be put to deathH4191[H8714], because she was not freeH2666.[H8795] |
[20]If a man slepith with a womman by fleischly knowyng of seed, which womman is an `hand maide, ye, a noble womman of kyn, and netheles is not ayenbouyt bi prijs, nethir rewardid with fredom, bothe schulen be betun, and thei schulen not die, for sche was not fre. |
[21]And he shall bringH935[H8689] his trespass offeringH817 unto the LORDH3068, unto the doorH6607 of the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, even a ramH352 for a trespass offeringH817. |
[21]Sotheli the man for his trespas schal offre a ram to the Lord, at the dore of the tabernacle of witnessyng; |
[22]And the priestH3548 shall make an atonementH3722[H8765] for him with the ramH352 of the trespass offeringH817 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 for his sinH2403 which he hath doneH2398[H8804]: and the sinH2403 which he hath doneH2398[H8804] shall be forgivenH5545 himH8738. |
[22]and the preest schal preye for hym, and for his trespas, bifor the Lord; and the Lord schal be merciful to hym, and the synne schal be foryouun. |
[23]And when ye shall comeH935[H8799] into the landH776, and shall have plantedH5193[H8804] all manner of treesH6086 for foodH3978, then ye shall countH6188 the fruitH6529 thereof as uncircumcisedH6188[H8804][H6190]: threeH7969 yearsH8141 shall it be as uncircumcisedH6189 unto you: it shall not be eatenH398 ofH8735. |
[23]Whanne ye han entrid in to the lond of biheest, and han plauntid therynne appil trees, ye schulen do awei the firste flouris; the applis whiche tho trees bryngen forth, schulen be vncleene to you, nethir ye schulen ete of tho. |
[24]But in the fourthH7243 yearH8141 all the fruitH6529 thereof shall be holyH6944 to praiseH1974 the LORD withalH3068. |
[24]Forsothe in the fourthe yeer al the fruyt of tho trees schal be `halewid preiseful to the Lord; |
[25]And in the fifthH2549 yearH8141 shall ye eatH398[H8799] of the fruitH6529 thereof, that it may yieldH3254[H8687] unto you the increaseH8393 thereof: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430. |
[25]forsothe in the fifthe yeer ye schulen ete fruytis, and schulen gadere applis, whiche tho trees bryngen forth; Y am youre Lord God. |
[26]Ye shall not eatH398[H8799] any thing with the bloodH1818: neither shall ye use enchantmentH5172[H8762], nor observe timesH6049.[H8779] |
[26]Ye schulen not ete fleisch with blood. Ye schulen not make veyn diuynyng, nether ye schulen kepe dremes; |
[27]Ye shall not roundH5362[H8686] the cornersH6285 of your headsH7218, neither shalt thou marH7843[H8686] the cornersH6285 of thy beardH2206. |
[27]nether ye schulen clippe the heer in round, nether ye schulen schaue the beerd; |
[28]Ye shall not makeH5414[H8799] anyH3793 cuttingsH8296 in your fleshH1320 for the deadH5315, nor printH5414[H8799] any marksH7085 upon you: I am the LORDH3068. |
[28]and on deed men ye schulen not kitte youre fleischis, nether ye schulen make to you ony fyguris, ether markis in youre fleisch; Y am the Lord. |
[29]Do not prostituteH2490[H8762] thy daughterH1323, to cause her to be a whoreH2181[H8687]; lest the landH776 fall to whoredomH2181[H8799], and the landH776 become fullH4390[H8804] of wickednessH2154. |
[29]Sette thou not thi douytir to do leccherie for hire, and the lond be defoulid, and be fillid with synne. |
[30]Ye shall keepH8104[H8799] my sabbathsH7676, and reverenceH3372[H8799] my sanctuaryH4720: I am the LORDH3068. |
[30]Kepe ye my sabatis, and drede ye my seyntuarie; Y `am the Lord. |
[31]RegardH6437[H8799] not them that have familiar spiritsH178, neither seekH1245[H8762] after wizardsH3049, to be defiledH2930[H8800] by them: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430. |
[31]Bowe ye not to astronomyers, nether axe ye ony thing of fals dyuynours, that ye be defoulid bi hem; Y am youre Lord God. |
[32]Thou shalt rise upH6965[H8799] beforeH6440 the hoary headH7872, and honourH1921[H8804] the faceH6440 of the old manH2205, and fearH3372[H8804] thy GodH430: I am the LORDH3068. |
[32]Rise thou bifor an hoor heed, and onoure thou the persoone of an eld man, and drede thou thi Lord God; Y am the Lord. |
[33]And if a strangerH1616 sojournH1481[H8799] with thee in your landH776, ye shall not vexH3238 himH8686. |
[33]If a comelyng enhabitith in youre lond, and dwellith among you, dispise ye not hym, |
[34]But the strangerH1616 that dwellethH1481[H8802] with you shall be unto you as one bornH249 among you, and thou shalt loveH157[H8804] him as thyself; for ye were strangersH1616 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430. |
[34]but be he among you as a man borun in the lond; and ye schulen loue hym as you silf, for also ye weren comelyngis in the lond of Egipt; Y am youre Lord God. |
[35]Ye shall doH6213[H8799] no unrighteousnessH5766 in judgmentH4941, in meteyardH4060, in weightH4948, or in measureH4884. |
[35]Nyle ye do ony wickid thing in doom, in reule, in weiyte, and in mesure; the balance be iust, |
[36]JustH6664 balancesH3976, justH6664 weightsH68, a justH6664 ephahH374, and a justH6664 hinH1969, shall ye have: I am the LORDH3068 your GodH430, which brought you outH3318[H8689] of the landH776 of EgyptH4714. |
[36]and the weiytis be euene, the buschel be iust, and the sextarie be euene; Y am youre Lord God, that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt. |
[37]Therefore shall ye observeH8104[H8804] all my statutesH2708, and all my judgmentsH4941, and doH6213[H8804] them: I am the LORDH3068. |
[37]Kepe ye alle myn heestis, and alle domes, and do ye tho; Y am the Lord. |
