Pes(Lam)
Peshitta NT (literal)
PesNT(lit)
[1]AND it came to pass on one of the days, while he was teaching the people and preaching in the temple, the high priests and the scribes with the elders rose up against him. [1]And it was in one of the days while He was teaching in the temple the people and proclaiming hope there stood about Him Chief Priests and Scribes with Elders
[2]And they said to him, Tell us by what authority you do these things, and who gave you this authority? [2]And they were saying to Him tell us by which? authority these things do you and who is? he who has given to you authority this
[3]Jesus answered and said to them, I will also ask you a word, and you tell me; [3]Answered Ieshu and He said to them I shall ask you also I a question and you answer Me
[4]The baptism of John, was it from heaven or from men? [4]The baptism of Yokhanan from Heaven was it? or from sons of men
[5]And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we should say from heaven, he will say to us, Why then did you not believe him? [5]Those but counseling they were among themselves and they were saying that if we say from Heaven He will say to us and because of what? not did you believe him
[6]And if we should say from men, all the people will stone us; for they regard John as a prophet. [6]If but we say from sons of men will stone us the people all they are convinced for that Yokhanan a prophet is
[7]So they said to him, We do not know whence it is. [7]And they said to Him "Not we know from where it is"
[8]Jesus said to them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. [8]Said to them Ieshu neither I say do to you by which authority these things do I
[9]And he began to say this parable to the people, A man planted a vineyard, and leased it to laborers, and went on a journey for a long time. [9]And He began to tell the people parable this man a certain planted a vineyard and handed it to laborers and went abroad for a time long
[10]And at the season he sent his servant to the laborers to give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the laborers beat him and sent him back empty. [10]And at the season he sent his servant to the workers to give to him from the fruits of the vineyard the workers but beat him and they sent him away as stripped
[11]And again he sent another of his servants; but they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him back empty. [11]And he added and he sent his servant another they but also that one they beat him and they abused him and they sent him away as naked
[12]And again he sent the third one; but they wounded him also, and threw him outside. [12]And he added and he sent a third they but also that one wounded him and they cast him out
[13]Then the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will see him and feel ashamed. [13]Said The owner of the vineyard what? shall I do I shall send my son beloved doubtless they will see him and they will be ashamed
[14]But when the laborers saw him, they reasoned with themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. [14]When they saw him but the workers counseling were among themselves and they were saying this is the heir come let us kill him and shall be the inheritance ours
[15]So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the owner of the vineyard do to them? [15]And they cast him out outside of the vineyard and they murdered him what? therefore will do to them the owner of the vineyard
[16]He will come and destroy those laborers, and give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, This will never happen. [16]He shall come and shall destroy workers those and he shall give the vineyard to others when they heard but they said not may be this
[17]But he looked at them and said, What is it that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same became the cornerstone? [17]He but gazed upon them and He said and what? is this that is written the Stone which rejected the builders that was the head corner of the corner
[18]Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; and on whomever it falls it will scatter him. [18]And everything that falls on that stone shall be broken and everything whatever this will fall upon which it shall scatter it
[19]The high priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour; but they were afraid of the people; for they knew that he had spoken this parable against them. [19]Seeking they were but Chief Priests and the Scribes to lay upon Him hands in that hour and they were afraid of the people they knew for that against them He had told parable this
[20]So they sent spies disguised as righteous men, to ensnare him by a word, and to deliver him to the judge, and then to the authority of the governor. [20]And they sent to Him spies who imitated righteous men to catch Him in discourse and to deliver Him to the judge and to the authority of the governor
[21]So they asked him, and said to him, Teacher, we know that you speak and teach truthfully, and you do not discriminate be- tween men, but you teach the way of God justly. [21]And they asked Him and were saying to Him Teacher we know that correctly speaking You are and teaching and not receive You faces but in truth the way of Alaha teach You
[22]Is it lawful for us to pay head-tax to Caesar or not? [22]Is it legal? for us to give money head to Qaesar or not
[23]But he understood their craftiness and said, Why do you tempt me? [23]He but perceived their cunning and He said why? testing are you Me
[24]Show me a penny. Whose image and inscription are on it? They said, Caesar's. [24]Show me a denarius of whom is in it the image and inscription they but said Qaesar's
[25]Jesus said to them, Give therefore to Caesar that which is Caesar's and to God what is God's. [25]Said to them Ieshu give therefore Qaesar's to Qaesar and Alaha's to Alaha
[26]And they were not able to get a word from him before the people; and they were amazed at his answer, and kept silence. [26]And not they were able to lay hold of from Him a word before the people and they were amazed at His answer and they kept silent
[27]Then came to him some of the men of the Sadducees, those who say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, [27]Came but some of the Sadducees those who say that resurrection there is no and they asked Him
[28]Teacher, Moses wrote to us, that if a man's brother should die, and has a wife without children, let his brother take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. [28]And they were saying to Him Teacher Moshe wrote to us that if a man dies and his brother who has to him a wife without sons shall take his brother his wife and he shall raise up a son to his brother
[29]Now there were seven brothers; the first married and died without children. [29]Seven but brothers there were the first took the woman and he died without sons
[30]The second married his wife, and he died without children. [30]And took her the second his wife and he died without sons
[31]And the third one married her again; and likewise the seven of them; and they died leaving no children. [31]And the third again took her and thus also the seven of them and they died and not they left sons
[32]And at last the woman also died. [32]And died finally also the woman
[33]Therefore at the resurrection to which one of them will she be a wife? for seven of them married her. [33]In the resurrection therefore of which? of them shall she be the wife the seven of them for married her
[34]Jesus said to them, The sons of this world marry women, and women are given to men in marriage. [34]Said to them Ieshu the sons of world this take women and women are given to men
[35]But those who are worthy of the other world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither take women in marriage nor are women given in marriage to men. [35]Those but who for that world are worthy and for the resurrection from among the dead not are taking women also not women are to men
[36]For they cannot die again, because they are like angels; and they are sons of God, because they are sons of the resurrection. [36]Neither for again die can they like the angels they are for and children they are of Alaha because they were children of the resurrection
[37]Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, even Moses pointed out; for he referred to it at the Bush when he said, The Lord God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. [37]That rise but those who have died also Moshe declared he recounts for at the bush when said the Lord The Alaha of Abraham and The Alaha of Isaaq and The Alaha of Yaqob
[38]God is not the God of the dead but of the living; for all live to him. [38]Alaha but not He was of the dead but of the living all of them for alive were to Him
[39]And some of the men of the scribes answered and said to him, Teacher, you have well said. [39]And answered some of the Scribes and they were saying to Him Teacher beautifully have spoken You
[40]And they did not dare again to question him concerning anything. [40]And not again they dared to ask Him about anything
[41]And he said to them, How can the scribes say concerning the Christ, that he is son of David? [41]And said He to them how? were saying The Scribes about The Messiah that The Son He is of David
[42]And yet David said in the book of Psalms, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, [42]And he David said in the book of Psalms said the Lord to my Lord seat Yourself at My right
[43]Until I put down your enemies under your feet. [43]Until I put Your enemies under Your feet
[44]If, therefore David calls him my Lord, how then can he be his son? [44]If therefore David my Lord called Him how? his son is He
[45]And while all the people were listening, he said to his disciples, [45]And while all the people heard He said to His disciples
[46]Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and love to be greeted in the streets, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the high places at the banquets; [46]Beware of the Scribes who like to walk in robes and love greetings in the markets and first class seats in the synagogues and first class rooms at banquets
[47]Those who embezzle the property of widows with the pretence that they make long prayers; they will receive a greater judgment. [47]They who consume the houses of widows for an offering of chanting their prayers those shall receive a judgment surpassing
