Peshitta NT (Etheridge, 1849)
PesNT(Eth)
[1]Gazed but Ieshu at the rich those who casting were in the house of treasure their offerings [1]Jeshu looked at those rich [persons] who were throwing into the house of treasure their oblations.
[2]And He saw also a widow a certain poor who cast in shemonas two [2]And he saw also a certain poor widow who threw in two shomonee.
[3]And He said the reality tell I you that this widow poor has cast in more than anyone [3]And he said, Truth I say to you, That this poor widow hath thrown in more than every one:
[4]All of them for these from whatever abundance was to them they cast in to the house of offerings of Alaha this one but from her want everything that owned she had she has cast in [4]For all those from what abounded to them have thrown into the house of the oblation of Aloha: but this from her penury all that she possessed hath she thrown in.
[5]And when saying were people about the temple that with stones beautiful and with gifts it was adorned said to them Ieshu [5]AND as some spake of the temple, [with] what beautiful stones and gifts it was adorned, Jeshu said to them,
[6]These things see? do you shall come the days in which not shall be left a stone on a stone that not shall be pulled down [6]These that you see, the days shall come [when] of them there will not be found a stone upon a stone that shall not be destroyed.
[7]And asking they were Him and they were saying Teacher when? these things will occur and what? is the sign when are close these things to occurring [7]And they inquired of him, and said, Malphona, when shall these be? and what is the sign that these are nigh to be?
[8]He but said to them beware that not you be deceived many for shall come in My Name and they shall say "I am the Messiah" and the time is near not but go after them [8]But he said to them, Beware lest you be seduced: for many will come in my name, and will say, I am the Meshicha; and the time hath drawn nigh: but go not you after them.
[9]And whenever hear you wars and commotions not fear going are for these things first to happen but not yet has arrived the end [9]And when you hear of wars and commotions, fear not: for these are first to be; but not yet cometh the end.
[10]Shall arise for nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom [10]For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
[11]And earthquakes great shall be in places places and famines and plagues and there shall be panics and terror and the signs great from the sky shall appear and storms great there shall be [11]And great earthquakes will be in divers places, and famines, and plagues; and there will be portents, and terrors, and great signs from the heavens will appear, and great tempests shall there be.
[12]Before but these things all they will lay on you hands and they shall persecute you and they shall deliver you to councils and to houses prison and they shall bring you before kings and governors because of My Name [12]But before all these, they will lay hands upon you, and persecute you, and deliver you up to the synagogues, and to the house of the bound. And they will bring you before kings and governors on account of my name.
[13]It will happen to you but for a testimony [13]And it shall be to you for a testimony.
[14]Settle but in your hearts that not you will be taught to return an answer [14]But lay it up in your hearts that you may not be learned for the answer;
[15]I for I will give to you a mouth and wisdom which that not they shall be able to stand against it all of them your enemies [15]For I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries cannot stand against.
[16]Shall deliver you over but your parents and your brothers and your relatives and your friends and they shall put to death some of you [16]But your fathers, and your brethren, and your kinsfolk, and your friends will betray you, and some of you they shall put to death.
[17]And you shall be hated by every man because of My Name [17]And you will be hated of all men on account of my name:
[18]And a hair from your heads not shall be lost [18]Yet a hair of your head shall not perish,
[19]By your perseverance but you shall possess your souls [19]But in your perseverance you shall possess your souls.
[20]Whenever but you will see Jerusalem being surrounded it by armies then know that has come near to it its destruction [20]But when you see Urishlem encompassed by an army, then know that its destruction hath drawn nigh.
[21]Then those who in Judea are let them flee to the mountains and those who within it are let them escape and who are in the villages not let them enter it [21]Then let them who are in Jihud escape to the mountain, and they who are within her escape, and let not them who are in the country places enter into her.
[22]For the days are these of vengeance to fulfill everything whatever is written [22]For those [will be] the days of retribution, that all which is written may be fulfilled.
[23]Woe! but to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse in those days there shall be for suffering great in the land and wrath upon people this [23]But woe to those who are with child and to those who suckle in those days! for there will be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
[24]And they shall fall by the mouth of the sword and they shall be led captive to every region and Jerusalem shall be trodden by the nations until will be finished the time of the nations [24]And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into every place, and Urishlem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until shall be fulfilled the times of the Gentiles.
[25]And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars and in the earth suffering of nations and clasping of hands from alarm of the sound of the sea [25]And there will be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars, and on earth distress of nations, and smiting of hands from astonishment at the voice of the sea,
[26]And an earthquake which drives out the souls of the children of men from the terror of whatever is going to come on the earth and shall be shaken the hosts of Heaven [26]The commotion hurrying forth the souls of the sons of men from fear of what is about to come upon the earth; and the powers of the heavens shall be commoved.
[27]And then they shall see Him The Son of Man Who comes in clouds with mighty works many and praise great [27]And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds, with power and great glory.
[28]Whenever but begin these things to happen take heart and lift up your heads because draws near it your salvation [28]But when these things begin to be, take courage, and lift up your heads, because your redemption hath drawn nigh.
[29]And said He to them a parable behold the fig tree and all of the trees [29]AND he spake to them a parable, Behold the fig-tree and all the trees;
[30]That when they bud at once from them understand you that approaches it summer [30]When they bud forth, immediately from them you know that summer hath drawn nigh.
[31]Thus also you whenever you see these things that occur know that near is the Kingdom of Alaha [31]Thus also you, when you see that these are, know that nigh is the kingdom of Aloha.
[32]Amen say I to you not shall pass generation this until of these things all shall come to pass [32]Amen I say to you, That this race shall not pass away till all these things shall be.
[33]Heaven and earth shall pass away and My words not shall pass away [33]Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
[34]Beware but in your souls that not ever grow cold your hearts with gluttony and in drunkenness and in the cares of the world and from the stillness shall come upon you day that [34]But take heed to yourselves, that at any time your hearts be not heavy with excess and drunkenness, and the care of the world, and unawares shall come upon you that day.
[35]As a trap for it shall spring upon all of them which dwell on the face of all the earth [35]For as a net it will overtake all them who dwell upon the faces of the whole earth.
[36]Be therefore watching at all times and praying that you will be worthy to escape from these things which are going to occur and to stand before The Son of Man [36]Be therefore wakeful at all time, and pray that you may be worthy to escape from those things that are about to be, and that you may stand before the Son of man.
[37]By day but teaching He was in the temple and by night went out He spending the night in the mount which is called D'Byth Zaytha [37]So in the day [time] he taught in the temple, and at night he went forth and lodged in the mount which is called the Place of Olives.
[38]And all the people coming early were to Him to the temple to hear His word [38]And all the people were early with him at the temple to hear his word.
