Vulgata Clementina (1592)
Vul
[1]Nearing was but the feast of unleavened bread which is called Passover [1]Appropinquat autem dies festus azymorum, qui dicitur Pascha:
[2]And seeking were Chief the Priests and the Scribes that how? they might kill Him were afraid they were for of the people [2]et quærebant principes sacerdotum, et scribæ, quomodo Jesum interficerent: timebant vero plebem.
[3]Entered had but Satan Yehuda who is called Skariota he who been had of the number of the twelve [3]Intravit autem Satanas in Judam, qui cognominabatur Iscariotes, unum de duodecim:
[4]And he went he spoke with Chief the Priests and the Scribes and the commanders of the forces of the temple so as to deliver Him to them [4]et abiit, et locutus est cum principibus sacerdotum, et magistratibus, quemadmodum illum traderet eis.
[5]And they rejoiced and they promised to give to him money [5]Et gavisi sunt, et pacti sunt pecuniam illi dare.
[6]And he made an agreement with them and seeking he was occasion to deliver Him to them without any gathering [6]Et spopondit, et quærebat opportunitatem ut traderet illum sine turbis.
[7]And arrived The Day of Unleavened Bread in which it was the custom for to be slain the Passover lamb [7]Venit autem dies azymorum, in qua necesse erat occidi pascha.
[8]And sent Ieshu Kaypha and Yokhanan and He said to them go prepare for us the Passover to eat [8]Et misit Petrum et Joannem, dicens: Euntes parate nobis pascha, ut manducemus.
[9]They but said to Him where? desire You us to prepare it [9]At illi dixerunt: Ubi vis paremus?
[10]He said to them behold when enter you the city shall meet you a man who bears a jug of water go after him [10]Et dixit ad eos: Ecce introëuntibus vobis in civitatem occurret vobis homo quidam amphoram aquæ portans: sequimini eum in domum, in quam intrat,
[11]And wherever he enters say to the owner of the house our Rabbi says is there? a place of dwelling where? I may eat Passover with My disciples [11]et dicetis patrifamilias domus: Dicit tibi Magister: Ubi est diversorium, ubi pascha cum discipulis meis manducem?
[12]And behold he shall show to you upper room one great that is furnished there prepare [12]Et ipse ostendet vobis cœnaculum magnum stratum, et ibi parate.
[13]And they went and they found as He told them and they prepared the Passover [13]Euntes autem invenerunt sicut dixit illis, et paraverunt pascha.
[14]And when it was time came Ieshu and He reclined and twelve the apostles with Him [14]Et cum facta esset hora, discubuit, et duodecim apostoli cum eo.
[15]And He said to them desiring I have desired that this Passover I should eat with you before I shall suffer [15]Et ait illis: Desiderio desideravi hoc pascha manducare vobiscum, antequam patiar.
[16]Say I to you for from now not I shall eat it until it shall be fulfilled in the Kingdom of Alaha [16]Dico enim vobis, quia ex hoc non manducabo illud, donec impleatur in regno Dei.
[17]And He took a cup and He gave thanks and He said take this and divide it among yourselves [17]Et accepto calice gratias egit, et dixit: Accipite, et dividite inter vos.
[18]Say I for to you that not I shall drink from the fruit of the vine until shall come the Kingdom of Alaha [18]Dico enim vobis quod non bibam de generatione vitis donec regnum Dei veniat.
[19]And He took bread and He gave thanks and He broke and He gave to them and He said this is My body which for the sake of your persons shall be given this you shall be doing to commemorate Me [19]Et accepto pane gratias egit, et fregit, et dedit eis, dicens: Hoc est corpus meum, quod pro vobis datur: hoc facite in meam commemorationem.
[20]And thus also about the cup from after they had dined He said this cup the covenant new in My blood which for your sakes shall be shed [20]Similiter et calicem, postquam cœnavit, dicens: Hic est calix novum testamentum in sanguine meo, qui pro vobis fundetur.
[21]However behold the hand of him who shall betray Me is on the table [21]Verumtamen ecce manus tradentis me, mecum est in mensa.
[22]And The Son of Man goes just as it was appointed yet woe! to that man by whose hand He shall be betrayed [22]Et quidem Filius hominis, secundum quod definitum est, vadit: verumtamen væ homini illi per quem tradetur.
[23]And they began to inquire among themselves who? indeed of them he was who this was going to commit [23]Et ipsi cœperunt quærere inter se quis esset ex eis qui hoc facturus esset.
[24]There was but also a dispute among them of who was among them great [24]Facta est autem et contentio inter eos, quis eorum videretur esse major.
[25]He but Ieshu said to them the kings of the nations their lords are and they ruling over them doers of good are called [25]Dixit autem eis: Reges gentium dominantur eorum: et qui potestatem habent super eos, benefici vocantur.
[26]You are but not so but whoever is great among you shall be as the small and whoever chief is shall be like a waiter [26]Vos autem non sic: sed qui major est in vobis, fiat sicut minor: et qui præcessor est, sicut ministrator.
[27]Who is? for greater he who sits or he who serves dinner not? is it he who sits I but am among you as He who serves dinner [27]Nam quis major est, qui recumbit, an qui ministrat? nonne qui recumbit? Ego autem in medio vestrum sum, sicut qui ministrat:
[28]You are but they who have remained with Me in My trials [28]vos autem estis, qui permansistis mecum in tentationibus meis.
[29]And I promising am you as promised Me My Father a kingdom [29]Et ego dispono vobis sicut disposuit mihi Pater meus regnum,
[30]That you shall eat and you shall drink at the table of Kingdom My and you shall sit on thrones and you shall judge twelve the tribes of Israel [30]ut edatis et bibatis super mensam meam in regno meo, et sedeatis super thronos judicantes duodecim tribus Israël.
[31]And said Ieshu to Shimeon Shimeon behold Satan has requested that he may sift you like wheat [31]Ait autem Dominus: Simon, Simon, ecce Satanas expetivit vos ut cribraret sicut triticum:
[32]And I have prayed for you that not shall fail your faith also you in the time it is restored confirm your brethren [32]ego autem rogavi pro te ut non deficiat fides tua: et tu aliquando conversus, confirma fratres tuos.
[33]Shimeon but said to Him my Lord with You prepared I am even for the house of prisoners and for death [33]Qui dixit ei: Domine, tecum paratus sum et in carcerem et in mortem ire.
[34]Said to him Ieshu say I to you Shimeon that not shall crow a rooster today until three times you shall deny that know you Me [34]At ille dixit: Dico tibi, Petre, non cantabit hodie gallus, donec ter abneges nosse me. Et dixit eis:
[35]And He said to them when I sent you without moneybag and without wallet and shoes was? there lacking to you anything they were saying to Him and not anything [35]Quando misi vos sine sacculo, et pera, et calceamentis, numquid aliquid defuit vobis?
[36]He said to them from this hour whoever has to him a moneybag should take it and thus also a wallet and whoever lacks to him a sword let him sell his tunic and buy for himself a sword [36]At illi dixerunt: Nihil. Dixit ergo eis: Sed nunc qui habet sacculum, tollat; similiter et peram: et qui non habet, vendat tunicam suam et emat gladium.
[37]Say I to you for that also this that is written must be fulfilled in Me with evil doers He was numbered all for that concerns Me shall be fulfilled [37]Dico enim vobis, quoniam adhuc hoc quod scriptum est, oportet impleri in me: Et cum iniquis deputatus est. Etenim ea quæ sunt de me finem habent.
[38]And they were saying to Him our Lord behold here are two swords He said to them they are enough [38]At illi dixerunt: Domine, ecce duo gladii hic. At ille dixit eis: Satis est.
[39]And He went out and He went on as accustomed he was to the Mount D'Byth Zytha and went after him also His disciples [39]Et egressus ibat secundum consuetudinem in monte Olivarum. Secuti sunt autem illum et discipuli.
[40]And when He arrived at the place He said to them pray lest you enter temptation [40]Et cum pervenisset ad locum, dixit illis: Orate ne intretis in tentationem.
[41]And He withdrew from them about a throw stone's and He bowed His knees and prayed He [41]Et ipse avulsus est ab eis quantum jactus est lapidis: et positis genibus orabat,
[42]And He said Father if are willing You let pass from Me cup this however not My will but Yours be done [42]dicens: Pater, si vis, transfer calicem istum a me: verumtamen non mea voluntas, sed tua fiat.
[43]And appeared to Him an angel from Heaven who strengthened Him [43]Apparuit autem illi angelus de cælo, confortans eum. Et factus in agonia, prolixius orabat.
[44]And as He was in fear urgently prayed He and was His sweat like drops of blood and He fell upon the ground [44]Et factus est sudor ejus sicut guttæ sanguinis decurrentis in terram.
[45]And He arose from His prayer and He came to His disciples and He found them while they were sleeping from the anguish [45]Et cum surrexisset ab oratione et venisset ad discipulos suos, invenit eos dormientes præ tristitia.
[46]And He said to them why? sleeping are you arise pray lest you enter temptation [46]Et ait illis: Quid dormitis? surgite, orate, ne intretis in tentationem.
[47]And while He was speaking behold a crowd and he who is called Yehuda one of the twelve came he went before them and he came to Ieshu and he kissed Him this one for a sign given had to them whomever kiss I is He [47]Adhuc eo loquente, ecce turba: et qui vocabatur Judas, unus de duodecim, antecedebat eos, et appropinquavit Jesu ut oscularetur eum.
[48]Said to him Ieshu Yehuda with a kiss? betray you Him The Son of Man [48]Jesus autem dixit illi: Juda, osculo Filium hominis tradis?
[49]When saw but those who with Him the thing that occurred they were saying to Him our Lord shall we strike? them with swords [49]Videntes autem hi qui circa ipsum erant, quod futurum erat, dixerunt ei: Domine, si percutimus in gladio?
[50]And struck one of them the servant of High The Priest and took it off his ear of his right side [50]Et percussit unus ex illis servum principis sacerdotum, et amputavit auriculam ejus dexteram.
[51]Answered but Ieshu and He said enough for now and he touched the ear of him who was wounded and He healed him [51]Respondens autem Jesus, ait: Sinite usque huc. Et cum tetigisset auriculam ejus, sanavit eum.
[52]And said Ieshu to those who had come upon Him Chief Priests and Elders and Commanders of the army of the temple as? upon a robber you went out for Me with swords and with clubs to seize Me [52]Dixit autem Jesus ad eos qui venerant ad se principes sacerdotum, et magistratus templi, et seniores: Quasi ad latronem existis cum gladiis et fustibus?
[53]Every day with you I was in the temple and not you stretched forth against Me hands but this is your hour and of the Prince of Darkness [53]Cum quotidie vobiscum fuerim in templo, non extendistis manus in me: sed hæc est hora vestra, et potestas tenebrarum.
[54]And they seized they brought Him to the house of the High Priest and Shimeon coming was after Him from a distance [54]Comprehendentes autem eum, duxerunt ad domum principis sacerdotum: Petrus vero sequebatur a longe.
[55]They kindled but a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sitting they were around it and sitting was also he Shimeon among them [55]Accenso autem igne in medio atrii et circumsedentibus illis, erat Petrus in medio eorum.
[56]And saw him a maidservant a certain as he sat at the fire and she stared at him and she said also this man with Him was [56]Quem cum vidisset ancilla quædam sedentem ad lumen, et eum fuisset intuita, dixit: Et hic cum illo erat.
[57]He but denied and he said woman not know I Him [57]At ille negavit eum, dicens: Mulier, non novi illum.
[58]And after a little while saw him another and he said to him also you of them are Kaypha but said not I am [58]Et post pusillum alius videns eum, dixit: Et tu de illis es. Petrus vero ait: O homo, non sum.
[59]And after hour one another disputing was and he said surely also this man with Him was also a Galilean he is for [59]Et intervallo facto quasi horæ unius, alius quidam affirmabat, dicens: Vere et hic cum illo erat: nam et Galilæus est.
[60]Said Kaypha man not know I what? saying you are and at once while he was speaking crowed a rooster [60]Et ait Petrus: Homo, nescio quid dicis. Et continuo, adhuc illo loquente, cantavit gallus.
[61]And turned Ieshu and He gazed at Kaypha and remembered Shimeon the saying of our Lord that told He had him that before shall crow a rooster you shall deny Me three times [61]Et conversus Dominus respexit Petrum, et recordatus est Petrus verbi Domini, sicut dixerat: Quia priusquam gallus cantet, ter me negabis.
[62]And went out outside Shimeon he wept bitterly [62]Et egressus foras Petrus flevit amare.
[63]And the men who holding were Ieshu mocking were Him and covering they were Him [63]Et viri qui tenebant illum, illudebant ei, cædentes.
[64]And striking they were Him on His face and they were saying prophesy who? strikes You [64]Et velaverunt eum, et percutiebant faciem ejus: et interrogabant eum, dicentes: Prophetiza, quis est, qui te percussit?
[65]And other things many blaspheming they were and they were speaking against Him [65]Et alia multa blasphemantes dicebant in eum.
[66]And when day had dawned were gathered The Elders and Chief The Priests and The Scribes and they brought Him to the place of their assembly [66]Et ut factus est dies, convenerunt seniores plebis, et principes sacerdotum, et scribæ, et duxerunt illum in concilium suum, dicentes: Si tu es Christus, dic nobis.
[67]And they were saying to Him if You are The Messiah tell us He said to them if I tell you not you will believe Me [67]Et ait illis: Si vobis dixero, non credetis mihi:
[68]And if I will ask you not will return you to Me an answer nor will release you Me [68]si autem et interrogavero, non respondebitis mihi, neque dimittetis.
[69]From this hour shall be The Son of Man sitting at the right side of the power of Alaha [69]Ex hoc autem erit Filius hominis sedens a dextris virtutis Dei.
[70]They were saying but all of them You? are therefore The Son of Alaha said to them Ieshu you saying are that I AM The Living Alaha [70]Dixerunt autem omnes: Tu ergo es Filius Dei? Qui ait: Vos dicitis, quia ego sum.
[71]They were saying why? again are needed to us witnesses we for are hearing from His mouth [71]At illi dixerunt: Quid adhuc desideramus testimonium? ipsi enim audivimus de ore ejus.
