[1]Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς διατάσσων τοῖς δώδεκα μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, μετέβη ἐκεῖθεν τοῦ διδάσκειν καὶ κηρύσσειν ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν. |
| [2]Yohanan but when He had heard in the house of prisoners His works of the Messiah he sent by the hand of his disciples |
[2]Ὁ δὲ Ἰωάννης ἀκούσας ἐν τῷ δεσμωτηρίῳ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ χριστοῦ πέμψας ⸀διὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ |
| [3]And he said to Him you are? He Who comes or another is He? expect we |
[3]εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἕτερον προσδοκῶμεν; |
| [4]Answered Ieshu and He said to them go relate to Yokhanan those things that hear you and see |
[4]καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Πορευθέντες ἀπαγγείλατε Ἰωάννῃ ἃ ἀκούετε καὶ βλέπετε· |
| [5]The blind see and the lame walk and lepers are purified and the deaf are hearing and the dead are rising and the poor are given good news |
[5]τυφλοὶ ἀναβλέπουσιν καὶ χωλοὶ περιπατοῦσιν, λεπροὶ καθαρίζονται καὶ κωφοὶ ἀκούουσιν, ⸀καὶ νεκροὶ ἐγείρονται καὶ πτωχοὶ εὐαγγελίζονται· |
| [6]And blessed is he who not will be stumbled by Me |
[6]καὶ μακάριός ἐστιν ὃς ⸀ἐὰν μὴ σκανδαλισθῇ ἐν ἐμοί. |

[7]Τούτων δὲ πορευομένων ἤρξατο ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγειν τοῖς ὄχλοις περὶ Ἰωάννου· Τί ἐξήλθατε εἰς τὴν ἔρημον θεάσασθαι; κάλαμον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου σαλευόμενον; |
| [8]And if not what? did you go out to see a man who a long robe soft wears? behold those who soft things wear in the house of a king are |
[8]ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθατε ἰδεῖν; ἄνθρωπον ἐν ⸀μαλακοῖς ἠμφιεσμένον; ἰδοὺ οἱ τὰ μαλακὰ φοροῦντες ἐν τοῖς οἴκοις τῶν ⸀βασιλέων ⸀εἰσίν. |
| [9]Otherwise what? did you go out to see a prophet? yes say I to you and more than a prophet |
[9]ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθατε⸂; προφήτην ἰδεῖν⸃; ναί, λέγω ὑμῖν, καὶ περισσότερον προφήτου. |

[10]⸀οὗτός ἐστιν περὶ οὗ γέγραπται· Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου, ὃς κατασκευάσει τὴν ὁδόν σου ἔμπροσθέν σου. |

[11]ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐκ ἐγήγερται ἐν γεννητοῖς γυναικῶν μείζων Ἰωάννου τοῦ βαπτιστοῦ· ὁ δὲ μικρότερος ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν μείζων αὐτοῦ ἐστιν. |

[13]πάντες γὰρ οἱ προφῆται καὶ ὁ νόμος ἕως Ἰωάννου ἐπροφήτευσαν· |

[14]καὶ εἰ θέλετε δέξασθαι, αὐτός ἐστιν Ἠλίας ὁ μέλλων ἔρχεσθαι. |

[17]⸀λέγουσιν· Ηὐλήσαμεν ὑμῖν καὶ οὐκ ὠρχήσασθε· ⸀ἐθρηνήσαμεν καὶ οὐκ ἐκόψασθε· |
| [18]Came for Yokhanan who nothing ate and nothing drank and they were saying a demon is in him |
[18]ἦλθεν γὰρ Ἰωάννης μήτε ἐσθίων μήτε πίνων, καὶ λέγουσιν· Δαιμόνιον ἔχει· |
| [19]Came The Son of Man eating and drinking and they were saying behold a man a glutton and drinker of wine and friend of tax collectors and of sinners and is justified wisdom by its works |
[19]ἦλθεν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐσθίων καὶ πίνων, καὶ λέγουσιν· Ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος φάγος καὶ οἰνοπότης, τελωνῶν φίλος καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν. καὶ ἐδικαιώθη ἡ σοφία ἀπὸ τῶν ⸀ἔργων αὐτῆς. |
| [20]Then began Ieshu to reproach cities those where had happened in them His mighty works many and not they repented |
[20]Τότε ⸀ἤρξατο ὀνειδίζειν τὰς πόλεις ἐν αἷς ἐγένοντο αἱ πλεῖσται δυνάμεις αὐτοῦ, ὅτι οὐ μετενόησαν· |
| [21]And said He woe to you Korazin woe to you Bethsaida for if in Tsur and in Tsidon had happened powerful works those that have happened in you doubtless but in sackcloth and in ashes they would have repented |
[21]Οὐαί σοι, Χοραζίν· οὐαί σοι, Βηθσαϊδά· ὅτι εἰ ἐν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἐγένοντο αἱ δυνάμεις αἱ γενόμεναι ἐν ὑμῖν, πάλαι ἂν ἐν σάκκῳ καὶ σποδῷ μετενόησαν. |
| [22]Yet say I to you that for Tsur and for Tsidon it will be tranquil in the day of judgment rather than for you |
[22]πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ἢ ὑμῖν. |
| [23]And you Kapernakhum which unto Heaven you were exalted unto Sheol you will descend for if in Sadom had been done powerful works those that were done in you remained it would have until today |
[23]καὶ σύ, Καφαρναούμ, ⸂μὴ ἕως οὐρανοῦ ὑψωθήσῃ⸃; ἕως ᾅδου ⸀καταβήσῃ· ὅτι εἰ ἐν Σοδόμοις ⸀ἐγενήθησαν αἱ δυνάμεις αἱ γενόμεναι ἐν σοί, ⸀ἔμεινεν ἂν μέχρι τῆς σήμερον. |
| [24]But I say to you that for the land of Sadom it will be tranquil in the day of judgment rather than for you |
[24]πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι γῇ Σοδόμων ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ἢ σοί. |
| [25]At that time answered Ieshu and said thank I you My Father the Lord of Heaven and of the earth that You have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and You have revealed them to infants |
[25]Ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι, πάτερ κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς, ὅτι ⸀ἔκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν καὶ συνετῶν, καὶ ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις· |
| [26]Yes My Father for thus it was desireable before You |
[26]ναί, ὁ πατήρ, ὅτι οὕτως ⸂εὐδοκία ἐγένετο⸃ ἔμπροσθέν σου. |
| [27]Every thing has been given up to Me by My Father and no man knows The Son except only The Father also not The Father a man knows except only The Son and he to whom wants The Son to reveal Him |
[27]Πάντα μοι παρεδόθη ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐπιγινώσκει τὸν υἱὸν εἰ μὴ ὁ πατήρ, οὐδὲ τὸν πατέρα τις ἐπιγινώσκει εἰ μὴ ὁ υἱὸς καὶ ᾧ ἐὰν βούληται ὁ υἱὸς ἀποκαλύψαι. |
| [28]Come unto Me all of you who labor and are forced to bear burdens and I shall give you rest |
[28]Δεῦτε πρός με πάντες οἱ κοπιῶντες καὶ πεφορτισμένοι, κἀγὼ ἀναπαύσω ὑμᾶς. |
| [29]Take My yoke on you and learn from Me for peaceful I and meek am in My heart and will find you rest for your souls |
[29]ἄρατε τὸν ζυγόν μου ἐφʼ ὑμᾶς καὶ μάθετε ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ, ὅτι πραΰς εἰμι καὶ ταπεινὸς τῇ καρδίᾳ, καὶ εὑρήσετε ἀνάπαυσιν ταῖς ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν· |
| [30]My yoke for pleasant is and My burden light is |
[30]ὁ γὰρ ζυγός μου χρηστὸς καὶ τὸ φορτίον μου ἐλαφρόν ἐστιν. |
