[1]In that but day went out Ieshu from the house and He sat down by the side of the sea |
[1]IN that day Jeshu went forth from the house and sat by the sea-side;ⓘ |
[2]And they were assembled unto him the crowds great so that He embarked seating Himself in a ship and all the crowds standing were on the beach by the sea |
[2]And great multitudes gathered near him, so that he went up and sat in a vessel; and all the multitude were standing on the shore of the sea. |
[3]And much speaking He was with them in parables and He said behold went out a sower to sow |
[3]And he discoursed largely to them in parables, and said: Behold, there went forth a sower to sow; |
[4]And as he sowed some fell on the side the road and came a bird and ate it |
[4]And as he sowed, some fell by the road-side, and the fowl came and devoured it. |
[5]And others fell on the rock where there not was soil much and son of an hour it sprouted because there not was depth of soil |
[5]Another [portion] fell upon the rock, where there was not much soil; and immediatelyⓘ it sprung up, because there was no depth of earth. |
[6]When arose but the sun it became hot and because there not was to it roots it withered |
[6]But when the sun was risen, it burned, and, because it had no root, it withered away. |
[7]And others fell among the thorns and they came up the thorns and they choked it |
[7]And another fell among the thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked it. |
[8]And others fell in the ground good and it yielded fruit some of a hundred and some of sixty and some of thirty |
[8]And another fell into good earth, and gave fruits, this a hundred, another sixty, and another thirty. |
[9]Whoever is to him an ear that hears let him hear |
[9]He who hath ears to hear, let him hear. |
[10]And approached His disciples and they were saying to Him why? in parables speaking are you with them |
[10]And his disciples approached, saying to him, Why dost thou speak to them in parables? |
[11]He but answered and said to them to you it has been given to know the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven to them but not it has been given |
[11]He replied and said to them, Because unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of heaven, but unto them it is not given. |
[12]To the one for that has it will be given it and will increase it |
[12]For unto him who hath, it shall be given, and it shall be increased to him: but [as] to him who hath not, that also which he hath shall be taken from him. |
[13]And to the one that has not it even that which has he will be taken from him because of this in parables speaking I am with them because they who see also not are seeing and those hearing neither hear nor understand |
[13]On this account I speak to them in parables. Hence they see, and [yet] see not; and they hear, and [yet] hear not, neither understand; |
[14]And is fulfilled in them the prophecy of Isaiah that says hearing you will hear and not you will understand and seeing you will see and not you will know |
[14]And accomplished in them is the prophecy of Eshaia, who said, that hearing they should hear, but not understand, and seeing they should see, but not know. |
[15]Has become dense it for the heart of people this and with their ears hardly they have heard and their eyes they have shut lest they would see with their eyes and they would hear with their ears and they would understand in their hearts and they would be converted and I would heal them |
[15]For the heart of this people is become gross, and with their ears they have heard heavily, and their eyes they have shut, that they may not see with their eyes, nor hear with their ears, nor understand with their hearts, and be converted, and I heal them. |
[16]Your but blessings to your eyes for they are seeing and to your ears for they are hearing |
[16]But blessed are your eyes which see, and your ears which hear: |
[17]Amen for I say to you that many prophets and righteous ones have yearned to see the things that seeing you are and not they saw and to hear the things that hearing you are and not they heard |
[17]For, Amen I say unto you, that many prophets and just ones have desired to behold what you see, and have not beheld, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard. |
[18]You but hear the parable of the seed |
[18]You, then, attend to the comparison of the seed: |
[19]Everyone who hears the word of the Kingdom and not understands into him comes The Evil One and snatches the word that was sown in his heart this is that which upon the side the road was sown |
[19][When] any one who heareth the doctrine of the kingdom doth not understand it, there cometh the evil [one], and snatcheth away the doctrine that was sown in his heart: this is what by the road-side was sown. |
[20]That but which upon the rock was sown is the one who hears the word and son of a moment in joy he receives it |
[20]But that which was sown upon the rock is he who heareth the word, and at once with joy apprehendeth it. |
[21]There are not for him but roots in him but temporal he is and when there is distress or persecution because of the word immediately he falls apart |
[21]Yet hath he no root in him, but is [only] for a time; and when affliction or persecution occurs on account of the doctrine, he is quickly offended. |
[22]That ? which among the thorns was sown is the one who hears the word and the cares of world this and the deception of wealth choke it the word and without fruit that one is |
[22]That sown [in] the place of thorns, is he who heareth the word, but the anxious thought of this world and the illusions of riches stifle the word in him, and he is without fruits. |
[23]That but which upon the ground good was sown is he who hears My word and understands and he yields fruit and produces some of a hundred and some of sixty and some of thirty |
[23]But that which upon good ground was sown is he who heareth my doctrine, and understandeth [it], and giveth fruits, and produceth, whether a hundred, or sixty, or thirty fold. |
[24]Another the parable He parabled to them and He said that is likened the Kingdom of Heaven to the man who sowed the seed good in his field |
[24]ANOTHER comparison he allegorized unto them, and said: The kingdom of heaven is like unto a man who sowed good seed in his field. |
[25]And when slept men came his enemy and sowed tares among the wheat and he left |
[25]And while men slept, came his adversary, and sowed zizania among the wheat, and went. |
[26]When but sprouted the grass it produced fruit then appeared also the tares |
[26]And when the plant sprang up and produced fruit, then appeared the zizania. |
[27]And approached his servants of the lord of the house and they said to him our lord not? behold seed good did you sow in your field from where? are in it tares |
[27]And the labourers of the house-lord drew near and said to him, Our lord, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? From whence then is the zizania in it? |
[28]He but said to them a man an enemy has done this were saying to him his servants want? do you us to go to select out them |
[28]But he said to them, A foeman hath done this. The labourers say to him, Art thou willing that we go and gather them? |
[29]He but said to them is it not? when collect you the tares you would uproot with them also the wheat |
[29]But he said to them, [No,] lest, when ye gather the zizania, you root out with them the wheat also. |
[30]Let grow both as one until harvest and in the time of harvest shall say I to the reapers select out first the tares and bind them in bundles to burn the wheat but gather them to my granary |
[30]Leave [them], that both may grow together till the harvest; and in the season of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather first the zizania, and bind them [together in] bundles, that they may burn; but the wheat collect into my barns. |
[31]Another parable He parabled to them and said is likened the Kingdom of Heaven to a grain of Mustard seed that had taken a man sowing it in his field |
[31]Another comparison allegorized he to them, and said: The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard, which a man took and sowed in his field. |
[32]And this smallest is of all seeds whenever but it has grown greatest it is of all small herbs and becomes a tree so that may come a bird of the sky settle in its branches |
[32]This is less than all other seeds; but when it has grown, it is greater than all herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the fowl of the heavens come [and] build in its branches. |
[33]Another parable He told them is likened the Kingdom of Heaven to yeast that which took a woman and hid in three measures of meal until all of it had fermented |
[33]Another parable he spake to them: The kingdom of heaven resembles that leaven which a woman took and hid in three satasⓘ of meal, until the whole was leavened. |
[34]These things all spoke Ieshu in parables to the crowds and without a parable not speaking he was with them |
[34]All these spake Jeshu in parables to the multitude; and without a parable he did not speak with them. |
[35]So that should be fulfilled the thing that was spoken by the prophet that says I shall open my mouth in parables and I shall declare things hidden from before the foundation of the world |
[35]That there should be fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet, who said, I will open my mouth in comparisons, and pour forth things hidden from before the foundation of the world. |
[36]Then Ieshu left the crowds and came to the house and they came to him His disciples and they were saying to Him explain to us parable that of the tares and the field |
[36]Then Jeshu dismissed the multitudes, and came into the house; and his disciples drew near him, and said to him, Expound to us the comparison of the zizania of the field. |
[37]He but answered and said to them he who sowed the seed good is the Son of Man |
[37]He answered and said to them, He who sowed the good seed is the Son of man. |
[38]And the field is the world the seed but good the children are of the Kingdom the tares but are the children of The Evil One |
[38]The field is the world. Now, the good seed are the sons of the kingdom, but the zizania are the sons of the evil one. |
[39]The enemy moreover who sowed them is Satan the harvest but is the end of the world the reapers and the angels |
[39]The adversary who sowed them is Satana; the harvest is the consummation of the world; the reapers are the angels. |
[40]Just as therefore are gathered the tares and burn in the fire thus it will be in the end of world this |
[40]As, therefore, the zizania are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the completion of this world. |
[41]Will send The Son of Man His angels and they will select from His Kingdom all of those stumbling blocks and all those doers of evil |
[41]The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall collect from his kingdom all those who cause offence, and all [who] work iniquity, |
[42]And they will cast them into the essence of fire there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth |
[42]And shall throw them into a furnace of fire; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
[43]Then the righteous will shine as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father whoever has to him an ear that will hear let him hear |
[43]Then the just shall shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who hath ears to hear, let him hear. |
[44]Again is likened the Kingdom of Heaven to treasure that was hidden in a field which found a man and hid and from his joy he went selling everything that is to him and he bought field that |
[44]Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure which was hidden in a field, [and] which a man found and concealed, and from joy went and sold all that he had, and bought that field. |
[45]Again is likened the Kingdom of Heaven to the man a merchant who searching for was pearls precious |
[45]Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man a merchant, who sought goodly pearls; |
[46]When but he found pearl a certain was valuable obviously he went selling everything whatsoever that is to him and bought it |
[46]But who, when he had found one pearl of exceeding price, went, sold all that he had, and bought it. |
[47]Again is like the Kingdom of Heaven a net that was cast into the sea and from every kind it collected |
[47]Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, which was thrown into the sea, and from every kind collected. |
[48]And when it was full they brought it up to the shore of the sea and they sat and selected out and the good they placed in vessels and the bad they threw out |
[48]And when it was full, they drew to the shore, and sat down, and selected; and the good they threw into vessels, and the bad they cast without. |
[49]Thus it will be in the end of the world will go forth the angels and they will separate the wicked from among the righteous |
[49]Thus shall it be at the consummation of the world. The angels shall go forth, and separate the evil from among the just, |
[50]And they will cast them into the essence of fire there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth |
[50]And cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth! |
[51]Said to them Ieshu have you understood? all these things they were saying to Him yes our Lord |
[51]Jeshu said to them, Have you understood all these? They say to him, Yes, our Lord. |
[52]He said to them because of this every scribe who is instructed for the kingdom of Heaven is like the man the lord of the house who brings from his treasure new things and old things |
[52]He saith to them, On this account every scribe who is learned in the kingdom of heaven, is like to a man a house-lord, who bringeth forth from his treasuries the new and the old. |
[53]And it was that when had finished Ieshu parables these He departed from there |
[53]AND when Jeshu had finished these parables, he passed from thence, |
[54]And He came to His city and taught He them in their synagogues so that they would marvel and they would say from where? to Him This One wisdom this and the miracles |
[54]And came to his city, and taught them in their synagogues, so that they were astounded and said, Whence hath he (Whence to him) this wisdom and these powers? |
[55]Not? is This the son of the carpenter not? His mother is called Maryam and His brothers Yaqob and Yose and Shimeon and Yehuda |
[55]Is not this the son of the carpenter? Is not his mother called Mariam, and his brothers, Jakub, and Josi, and Shemun, and Jehuda? |
[56]And His sisters all not? behold with us they are from where? to Him therefore to This One these things all |
[56]And his sisters, all, are they not with us? Whence to this one all these? |
[57]And offended they were by Him He but Ieshu said to them there is not a prophet who is despised except in his city and in his home |
[57]And they were offended with him. But Jeshu said to them, No prophet is contemned except in his own city, and in his own house. |
[58]And not He did there miracles many because of dis- their trust |
[58]And he did not many miracles there on account of their unbelief. |
