[1]ThenG5119 cameG4334[G5736] to JesusG2424 scribesG1122 andG2532 PhariseesG5330, which were ofG575 JerusalemG2414, G3004sayingG5723 [1]Then came to Jesus the Scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
[2]WhyG1302 do thyG4675 disciplesG3101 transgressG3845[G5719] the traditionG3862 of the eldersG4245? forG1063 they washG3538[G5731] notG3756 theirG846 handsG5495 whenG3752 they eatG2068[G5725] breadG740. [2]Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the Elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
[3]ButG1161 he answeredG611[G5679] and saidG2036[G5627] unto themG846, WhyG1302 do yeG5210 alsoG2532 transgressG3845[G5719] the commandmentG1785 of GodG2316 byG1223 yourG5216 traditionG3862? [3]But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
[4]ForG1063 GodG2316 commandedG1781[G5662], sayingG3004[G5723], HonourG5091[G5720] thyG4675 fatherG3962 andG2532 motherG3384: andG2532, He that cursethG2551[G5723] fatherG3962 orG2228 motherG3384, let him dieG5053[G5720] the deathG2288. [4]For God hath commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
[5]ButG1161 yeG5210 sayG3004[G5719], WhosoeverG3739[G302] shall sayG2036[G5632] to his fatherG3962 orG2228 his motherG3384, It is a giftG1435, byG1537 whatsoeverG3739[G1437] thou mightest be profitedG5623[G5686] by meG1700; [5]But ye say, Whosoever shall say to father or mother, By the gift that is offered by me, thou mayest have profit,
[6]AndG2532 honourG5091[G5661] notG3364 hisG846 fatherG3962 orG2228 hisG846 motherG3384, he shall be free. ThusG2532 have ye madeG208 the commandmentG1785 of GodG2316 of none effectG208[G5656] byG1223 yourG5216 traditionG3862. [6]Though he honor not his father, or his mother, shall be free: thus have ye made the commandment of God of no authority by your tradition.
[7]Ye hypocritesG5273, wellG2573 didG4395 EsaiasG2268 prophesyG4395[G5656] ofG4012 youG5216, G3004sayingG5723 [7]O hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying,
[8]ThisG3778 peopleG2992 draweth nighG1448[G5719] unto meG3427 with theirG846 mouthG4750, andG2532 honourethG5091[G5719] meG3165 with their lipsG5491; butG1161 theirG846 heartG2588 isG568[G5719] farG4206 fromG575 meG1700. [8]This people draweth near unto me with their mouth, and honoreth me with the lips, but their heart is far off from me.
[9]ButG1161 in vainG3155 they do worshipG4576[G5736] meG3165, teachingG1321[G5723] for doctrinesG1319 the commandmentsG1778 of menG444. [9]But in vain they worship me, teaching for doctrines, mens precepts.
[10]AndG2532 he calledG4341[G5666] the multitudeG3793, and saidG2036[G5627] unto themG846, HearG191[G5720], andG2532 understandG4920:[G5720] [10]Then he called the multitude unto him, and said to them, Hear and understand.
[11]NotG3756 that which goethG1525[G5740] intoG1519 the mouthG4750 defilethG2840[G5719] a manG444; butG235 that which comethG1607[G5740] out ofG1537 the mouthG4750, thisG5124 defilethG2840[G5719] a manG444. [11]That which goeth into the mouth, defileth not the man, but that which cometh out of the mouth, that defileth the man.
[12]ThenG5119 cameG4334[G5631] hisG846 disciplesG3101, and saidG2036[G5627] unto himG846, Knowest thouG1492[G5758] thatG3754 the PhariseesG5330 were offendedG4624[G5681], after they heardG191[G5660] this sayingG3056? [12]Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Perceivest thou not, that the Pharisees are offended in hearing this saying?
[13]ButG1161 he answeredG611[G5679] and saidG2036[G5627], EveryG3956 plantG5451, whichG3739 myG3450 heavenlyG3770 FatherG3962 hathG5452 notG3756 plantedG5452[G5656], shall be rooted upG1610.[G5701] [13]But he answered and said, Every plant which mine heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
[14]LetG863 themG846 aloneG863[G5628]: they beG1526[G5748] blindG5185 leadersG3595 of the blindG5185. AndG1161 ifG1437 the blindG5185 leadG3594[G5725] the blindG5185, bothG297 shall fallG4098[G5699] intoG1519 the ditchG999. [14]Let them alone, they be the blind leaders of the blind: and if the blind lead you blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
[15]ThenG1161 answeredG611[G5679] PeterG4074 and saidG2036[G5627] unto himG846, DeclareG5419[G5657] unto usG2254 thisG5026 parableG3850. [15]Then answered Peter, and said to him, Declare unto us this parable.
[16]AndG1161 JesusG2424 saidG2036[G5627], AreG2075[G5748] yeG5210 alsoG2532 yetG188 without understandingG801? [16]Then said Jesus, Are ye yet without understanding?
[17]DoG3539 notG3768 yeG3539 yetG3768 understandG3539[G5719], thatG3754 whatsoeverG3956 entereth inG1531[G5740] atG1519 the mouthG4750 goethG5562[G5719] intoG1519 the bellyG2836, andG2532 is cast outG1544[G5743] intoG1519 the draughtG856? [17]Perceive ye not yet, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
[18]ButG1161 those things whichG3588 proceedG1607[G5740] out ofG1537 the mouthG4750 come forthG1831[G5736] fromG1537 the heartG2588; and theyG2548 defileG2840[G5719] the manG444. [18]But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come from the heart, and they defile the man.
[19]ForG1063 out ofG1537 the heartG2588 proceedG1831[G5736] evilG4190 thoughtsG1261, murdersG5408, adulteriesG3430, fornicationsG4202, theftsG2829, false witnessG5577, blasphemiesG988: [19]For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slanders.
[20]TheseG5023 areG2076[G5748] the things whichG3588 defileG2840[G5723] a manG444: butG1161 to eatG5315[G5629] with unwashenG449 handsG5495 defilethG2840[G5719] notG3756 a manG444. [20]These are the things, which defile the man: but to eat with unwashen hands, defileth not the man.
[21]ThenG2532 JesusG2424 wentG1831[G5631] thenceG1564, and departedG402[G5656] intoG1519 the coastsG3313 of TyreG5184 andG2532 SidonG4605. [21]And Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
[22]AndG2532, beholdG2400[G5628], a womanG1135 of CanaanG5478 cameG1831[G5631] out ofG575 the sameG1565 coastsG3725, and criedG2905[G5656] unto himG846, sayingG3004[G5723], Have mercyG1653[G5657] on meG3165, O LordG2962, thou SonG5207 of DavidG1138; myG3450 daughterG2364 is grievouslyG2560 vexed with a devilG1139.[G5736] [22]And behold, a woman a Canaanite came out of the same coasts, and cried, saying unto him, Have mercy on me, O Lord, the son of David: my daughter is miserably vexed with a devil.
[23]ButG1161 he answeredG611[G5662] herG846 notG3756 a wordG3056. AndG2532 hisG846 disciplesG3101 cameG4334[G5631] and besoughtG2065[G5707] himG846, sayingG3004[G5723], SendG630 herG846 awayG630[G5657]; forG3754 she criethG2896[G5719] afterG3693 usG2257. [23]But he answered her not a word. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she cryeth after us.
[24]ButG1161 he answeredG611[G5679] and saidG2036[G5627], I amG649 notG3756 sentG649[G5648] butG1508 untoG1519 the lostG622[G5756] sheepG4263 of the houseG3624 of IsraelG2474. [24]But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
[25]ThenG1161 came sheG2064[G5631] and worshippedG4352[G5707] himG846, sayingG3004[G5723], LordG2962, helpG997[G5720] meG3427. [25]Yet she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
[26]ButG1161 he answeredG611[G5679] and saidG2036[G5627], It isG2076[G5748] notG3756 meetG2570 to takeG2983[G5629] the children'sG5043 breadG740, andG2532 to castG906[G5629] it to dogsG2952. [26]And he answered, and said, It is not good to take the childrens bread, and to cast it to whelps.
[27]AndG1161 she saidG2036[G5627], TruthG3483, LordG2962: yetG2532[G1063] the dogsG2952 eatG2068[G5719] ofG575 the crumbsG5589 whichG3588 fallG4098[G5723] fromG575 theirG846 masters'G2962 tableG5132. [27]But she said, Truth, Lord: yet indeed the whelps eat of the crumbs, which fall from their master's table.
[28]ThenG5119 JesusG2424 answeredG611[G5679] and saidG2036[G5627] unto herG846, OG5599 womanG1135, greatG3173 is thyG4675 faithG4102: be itG1096[G5676] unto theeG4671 even asG5613 thou wiltG2309[G5719]. AndG2532 herG846 daughterG2364 was made wholeG2390[G5681] fromG575 that veryG1565 hourG5610. [28]Then Jesus answered, and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it to thee, as thou desirest. And her daughter was made whole at that hour.
[29]AndG2532 JesusG2424 departedG3327[G5631] from thenceG1564, and cameG2064[G5627] nigh untoG3844 the seaG2281 of GalileeG1056; andG2532 went upG305[G5631] intoG1519 a mountainG3735, and sat downG2521[G5711] thereG1563. [29]So Jesus went away from thence, and came near unto the sea of Galilee, and went up into a mountain and sat down there.
[30]AndG2532 greatG4183 multitudesG3793 cameG4334[G5656] unto himG846, havingG2192[G5723] withG3326 them those that wereG1438 lameG5560, blindG5185, dumbG2974, maimedG2948, andG2532 manyG4183 othersG2087, andG2532 castG4496 themG846 downG4496[G5656] atG3844 Jesus'G2424 feetG4228; andG2532 he healedG2323[G5656] themG846: [30]And great multitudes came unto him, having with them, halt, blind, dumb, maimed and many other, and cast them down at Jesus feet, and he healed them.
[31]Insomuch thatG5620 the multitudeG3793 wonderedG2296[G5658], when they sawG991[G5723] the dumbG2974 to speakG2980[G5723], the maimedG2948 to be wholeG5199, the lameG5560 to walkG4043[G5723], andG2532 the blindG5185 to seeG991[G5723]: andG2532 they glorifiedG1392[G5656] the GodG2316 of IsraelG2474. [31]In so much that the multitude wondered, to see the dumb speak, the maimed whole, the halt to go, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
[32]ThenG1161 JesusG2424 calledG4341[G5666] hisG846 disciplesG3101 unto him, and saidG2036[G5627], I have compassionG4697[G5736] onG1909 the multitudeG3793, becauseG3754 they continueG4357[G5719] with meG3427 nowG2235 threeG5140 daysG2250, andG2532 haveG2192[G5719] nothingG3756[G5101] to eatG5315[G5632]: andG2532 I willG2309[G5719] notG3756 sendG630 themG846 awayG630[G5658] fastingG3523, lestG3379 they faintG1590[G5686] inG1722 the wayG3598. [32]Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on this multitude, because they have continued with me already three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not let them depart fasting, lest they faint in the way.
[33]AndG2532 hisG846 disciplesG3101 sayG3004[G5719] unto himG846, WhenceG4159 should weG2254 have so muchG5118 breadG740 inG1722 the wildernessG2047, asG5620 to fillG5526[G5658] so greatG5118 a multitudeG3793? [33]And his disciples said unto him, Whence should we get so much bread in the wilderness, as should suffice so great a multitude!
[34]AndG2532 JesusG2424 saithG3004[G5719] unto themG846, How manyG4214 loavesG740 have yeG2192[G5719]? AndG1161 they saidG2036[G5627], SevenG2033, andG2532 a fewG3641 little fishesG2485. [34]And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
[35]AndG2532 he commandedG2753[G5656] the multitudeG3793 to sit downG377[G5629] onG1909 the groundG1093. [35]Then he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground,
[36]AndG2532 he tookG2983[G5631] the sevenG2033 loavesG740 andG2532 the fishesG2486, and gave thanksG2168[G5660], and brakeG2806[G5656] them, andG2532 gaveG1325[G5656] to hisG846 disciplesG3101, andG1161 the disciplesG3101 to the multitudeG3793. [36]And took the seven loaves, and the fishes, and gave thanks, and break them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
[37]AndG2532 they didG5315 allG3956 eatG5315[G5627], andG2532 were filledG5526[G5681]: andG2532 they took upG142[G5656] of the brokenG2801 meat that was leftG4052[G5723] sevenG2033 basketsG4711 fullG4134. [37]And they did all eat, and were sufficed: and they took up of the fragments that remained, seven baskets full.
[38]AndG1161 they that did eatG2068[G5723] wereG2258[G5713] four thousandG5070 menG435, besideG5565 womenG1135 andG2532 childrenG3813. [38]And they that had eaten, were four thousand men, beside women, and little children.
[39]AndG2532 he sent awayG630[G5660] the multitudeG3793, and tookG1684[G5627] shipG1519[G4143], andG2532 cameG2064[G5627] intoG1519 the coastsG3725 of MagdalaG3093. [39]Then Jesus sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the parts of Magdala.
