| [1]כד דינ אתילד ישׁוע בבית-לחמ דיהודא ביומי הרודס מלכא אתו מגושׁא מנ מדנחא לאורשׁלמ |
[1]When but was born Ieshu in Bethlekhem of Judea in the days of Herod the King came the Magi from the East to Jerusalem |
| [2]ואמרינ איכו מלכא דיהודיא דאתילד חזינ גיר כוכבה במדנחא ואתינ למסגד לה |
[2]And they were saying where is? the King of the Judeans who has been born we have seen for His star in the East and we have come to worship Him |
| [3]שׁמע דינ הרודס מלכא ואתתזיע וכלה אורשׁלמ עמה |
[3]Heard but Herod the King and he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him |
| [4]וכנשׁ כלהונ רבי כהנא וספרא דעמא ומשׁאל הוא להונ דאיכא מתילד משׁיחא |
[4]And he gathered all of them the chief priests and the scribes of the people and asking he was them where? would be born the Messiah |
| [5]הנונ דינ אמרו בבית-לחמ דיהודא הכנא גיר כתיב בנביא |
[5]Those but said in Bethlekhem of Judea thus for it is written in the prophets |
| [6]אפ אנתי בית-לחמ דיהודא לא הויתי בצירא במלכא דיהודא מנכי גיר נפוק מלכא דהו נרעיוהי לעמי איסראיל |
[6]Also you Bethlekhem of Judea not you were the least among the kings of Judea from you for shall proceed the King He Who will shepherd My people Israel |
| [7]הידינ הרודס מטשׁיאית קרא למגושׁא וילפ מנהונ באינא זבנא אתחזי להונ כוכבא |
[7]Then Herodus secretly called the Magi and learned from them at which time appeared to them the star |
| [8]ושׁדר אנונ לבית-לחמ ואמר להונ זלו עקבו על טליא חפיטאית ומא דאשׁכחתוניהי תו חואוני דאפ אנא אזל אסגוד לה |
[8]And he sent them to Bethlekhem and said to them go inquire about The Boy very carefully and when you have found Him come show me so that also I may go worship Him |
| [9]הנונ דינ כד שׁמעו מנ מלכא אזלו והא כוכבא הו דחזו במדנחא אזל הוא קדמיהונ עדמא דאתא קמ לעל מנ איכא דאיתוהי טליא |
[9]They but when they heard from the king they went and behold star that that they had seen in the East went it before them until it came and stood over from where was the Boy |
| [10]כד דינ חזאוהי לכוכבא חדיו חדותא רבתא דטב |
[10]When but they saw it the star they rejoiced with joy great very |
| [11]ועלו לביתא וחזאוהי לטליא עמ מרימ אמה ונפלו סגדו לה ופתחו סימתהונ וקרבו לה קורבנא דהבא ומורא ולבונתא |
[11]And they entered the house and they saw The Boy with Maryam His mother and they fell they worshipped Him and they opened their treasures and they offered to Him gifts gold and myrrh and frankincense |
| [12]ואתחזי להונ בחלמא דלא נהפכונ לות הרודס ובאורחא אחרתא אזלו לאתרהונ |
[12]And it appeared to them in a dream that not they should return to Herod and by a road another they went to their country |
| [13]כד דינ אזלו אתחזי מלאכא דמריא בחלמא ליוספ ואמר לה קומ דבר לטליא ולאמה וערוק למצרינ ותמנ הוי עדמא דאמר אנא לכ עתיד הו גיר הרודס למבעיה לטליא איכ דנובדיוהי |
[13]As but they went appeared The Angel of the Lord in a dream to Yoseph and said to him arise take The Boy and His mother and flee to Egypt and there stay until tell I you is going the same for Herod to seek The Boy so as to destroy Him |
| [14]יוספ דינ קמ שׁקלה לטליא ולאמה בלליא וערק למצרינ |
[14]Yoseph but arose he took The Boy and His mother in the night and fled to Egypt |
| [15]והוא תמנ עדמא למותה דהרודס דנתמלא מדמ דאתאמר מנ מריא בנביא דאמר דמנ מצרינ קרית לברי |
[15]And he was there until the death of Herod that it should be fulfilled the thing that was spoken from the Lord through the prophets that says from Egypt I have called My Son |
| [16]הידינ הרודס כד חזא דאתבזח מנ מגושׁא אתחמת טב ושׁדר קטל טליא כלהונ דבית-לחמ ודכלהונ תחומיה מנ בר תרתינ שׁנינ ולתחת איכ זבנא דעקב מנ מגושׁא |
[16]Then Herodus when he saw that he was mocked by the Magi he was enraged greatly and he sent and he killed the boys all of them of Bethlekhem and of all its borders from son of two years and under according to the time that he searched out from the Magi |
| [17]הידינ אתמלי מדמ דאתאמר ביד ארמיא נביא דאמר |
[17]Then was fulfilled the thing that was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet that says |
| [18]קלא אשׁתמע ברמתא בכיא ואליא סגיאא רחיל בכיא על בניה ולא צביא למתביאו מטל דלא איתיהונ |
[18]A voice was heard in Ramtha weeping and lamentation great Rachel weeping over her children and not she is willing to be comforted because not they are |
| [19]כד מית דינ הרודס מלכא אתחזי מלאכא דמריא בחלמא ליוספ במצרינ |
[19]When died but Herod the King appeared The Angel of the Lord in a dream to Yoseph in Egypt |
| [20]ואמר לה קומ דבר לטליא ולאמה וזל לארעא דאיסראיל מיתו להונ גיר הנונ דבעינ הוו נפשׁה דטליא |
[20]And he said to him arise take The Boy and His mother and go to the land of Israel they have died to them for those that seeking were the life of the boy |
| [21]ויוספ קמ דבר לטליא ולאמה ואתא לארעא דאיסראיל |
[21]And Yoseph arose took The Boy and His mother and came to the land of Israel |
| [22]כד דינ שׁמע דארכלאוס הוא מלכא ביהוד חלפ הרודס אבוהי דחל דנאזל לתמנ ואתחזי לה בחלמא דנאזל לאתרא דגלילא |
[22]When but he heard that Arkilaus was the king in Judea in the place of Herod his father he feared to go there and it appeared to him in a dream that he should go to the region of Galila |
| [23]ואתא עמר במדינתא דמתקריא נצרת איכ דנתמלא מדמ דאתאמר בנביא דנצריא נתקרא |
[23]And he came to dwell in a city that is called Natsareth so that should be fulfilled the thing that was spoken by the prophet that a Nazarene He shall be called |
