|
[1]AND Jeshu went forth from the temple to depart: and his disciples approached him, showing him the building of the temple. |
[1]And Jesus went out, and departed from the Temple, and his disciples came to him, to show him the building of the Temple. |
[2]But he said to them, See you not all these? Amen I say to you, There shall not be left here a stone upon a stone which shall not be destroyed. |
[2]And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, there shall not be here left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be cast down. |
[3]And while Jeshu sat upon the mount of Olives, his disciples drew near and said between themselves and him, Tell us when these things shall be; and what is the sign of thy coming and of the consummation of the world. |
[3]And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, his disciples came unto him apart, saying, Tell us when these things shall be, and what sign shall be of thy coming, and of the end of the world. |
[4]Jeshu answered and said to them, Beware that no man cause you to err; |
[4]And Jesus answered, and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. |
[5]For many will come in my name and will say, I am the Meshicha; and many will be deceived. |
[5]For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many. |
[6]But it will be for you to hear [of] wars and the noise of battles; [yet] see that you be not perturbed; for all these will take place, but not yet is the end. |
[6]And ye shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. |
[7]For people will rise against people, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and plagues, and earthquakes in various places. |
[7]For nation shall rise against nation, and realm against realm, and there shall be pestilence, and famine, and earthquakes in divers places. |
[8]But these are all the beginning of sorrows. |
[8]All these are but the beginning of sorrows. |
[9]Then shall they deliver you to affliction, and shall kill you; and you shall be hated of all peoples on account of my name. |
[9]Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my Names sake. |
[10]Then shall many be offended, and shall hate one another, and betray one another. |
[10]And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. |
[11]And many lying prophets shall stand up, and shall delude the multitudes. |
[11]And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many. |
[12]And because of the abounding of iniquity, the love of many will languish. |
[12]And because iniquity shall be increased, the love of many shall be cold. |
[13]But he who shall persevere unto the end,—he shall live. |
[13]But he that endureth to the end, he shall be saved. |
[14]And this annunciation of the kingdom shall be proclaimed in the whole world as a testimony for all nations; and then will come the end. |
[14]And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached through the whole world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come. |
[15]But when you see the unclean sign of desolation which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, that it standeth in the holy place;—he who readeth let him understand! |
[15]When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet, standing in the Holy place, (let him that readeth consider it.) |
[16]—then let those who are in Jehud escape to the mountain. |
[16]Then let them which be in Judea, flee into the mountains. |
[17]And let not him who is on the roof descend to take what [is in] his house; |
[17]Let him which is on the house top, not come down to fetch anything out of his house. |
[18]Nor he who is in the field turn back to take his vestment. |
[18]And he that is in the field, let not him return back to fetch his clothes. |
[19]But woe to those who are with child, and to those who give suck in those days! |
[19]And woe shall be to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days. |
[20]But pray that your flight may not be in the winter, nor on the shabath. |
[20]But pray that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day. |
[21]For then shall be the great affliction, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be [again]. |
[21]For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world to this time, nor shall be. |
[22]And unless those days be cut short, none could live of all flesh: but on account of the chosen those days shall be cut short. |
[22]And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elects sake those days shall be shortened. |
[23]Then if any one shall say to you, Lo, here is the Meshicha, or there; believe them not. |
[23]Then if any shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there, believe it not. |
[24]For there shall arise false Meshichas and prophets of untruth; and they shall give forth magnificent signs, so as to seduce, if possible, the chosen also. |
[24]For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, so that if it were possible, they should deceive the very elect. |
[25]If therefore they shall say to you, (observe! I have told you before,) |
[25]Behold, I have told you before. |
[26]Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: or, Behold, he is in the inner chamber; believe not. |
[26]Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth: Behold, he is in the secret places, believe it not. |
[27]As the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen unto the west, so shall be the advent of the Son of man. |
[27]For as the lightning cometh out of the East, and shineth into the West, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
[28]But where the body shall be, there will be assembled the eagles. |
[28]For wheresoever a dead carcass is, thither will the Eagles resort. |
[29]But immediately after the affliction of those days, the sun will become dark, and the moon show not her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven be commoved. |
[29]And immediately after the tribulations of those days, shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken. |
[30]And then shall be seen the standard of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the generations of the earthⓘ shall wail, and they shall see the Son of man coming upon the clouds of heaven, with great power and glory. |
[30]And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the kinreds of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man come in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. |
[31]And he shall send his angels with the great trumpet, and they shall gather the chosen who are his from the four winds and from the ends of heaven.ⓘ |
[31]And he shall send his Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect, from the four winds, and from the one end of the heaven unto the other. |
[32]But from the fig-tree learn a parable: As soon as her branches are soft, and they put forth her leaves, you know that summer draweth nigh. |
[32]Now learn the parable of the fig tree: when her bough is yet tender, and it bringeth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near. |
[33]So also, when all these are seen, you know that it cometh to the door. |
[33]So likewise ye, when ye see all these things, know that the kingdom of God is near, even at the doors. |
[34]Amen I say to you, that this raceⓘ shall not have passed away until all these shall take place. |
[34]Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. |
[35]Heaven and earth shall pass away; but my words shall not pass away. |
[35]Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. |
[36]BUT concerning that day and concerning that hour, no man knoweth; neither the angels of heaven, but the Father only. |
[36]But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the Angels of heaven, but my father only. |
[37]But as the days of Nûch, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. |
[37]But as the days of Noah were, so likewise shall the coming of the Son of man be. |
[38]For as before the deluge they were eating and drinking, taking wives and giving to husbands, until the day that Nûch went into the ark; |
[38]For as in the days before the flood they did eat and drink, marry, and give in marriage, unto the day that Noah entered into the Ark, |
[39]And knew not till the deluge came, and carried them all away; so shalt be the advent of the Son of man. |
[39]And knew nothing, till the flood came and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
[40]Then two shall be in the field; one shall be taken, and one be left. |
[40]Then two men shall be in the fields, the one shall be received, and the other shall be refused. |
[41]Two shall be grinding in the mill; one is taken, and one is left. |
[41]Two women shall be grinding at the mill: the one shall be received, and the other shall be refused. |
[42]Be wakeful therefore, because ye know not in what hour cometh your Lord. |
[42]Wake therefore: for ye know not what hour your master will come. |
[43]But this know; that if the master of the house knew in what watch the thief would come, he would have been watching, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. |
[43]Of this be sure, that if the good man of the house knew at what watch the thief would come, he would surely watch, and not suffer his house to be digged through. |
[44]Wherefore be ye also prepared, because in the hour that ye expect not shall come the Son of man. |
[44]Therefore be ye also ready: for in the hour that ye think not, will the Son of man come. |
[45]WHO is the servant faithful and wise whom his lord shall appoint over the children of his house, to give every one his meat in his time? |
[45]Who then is a faithful servant and wise, whom his master hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in season? |
[46]Blessed is that servant, who, when cometh his lord, shall be found doing so. |
[46]Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he cometh, shall find so doing. |
[47]Amen I say to you, that he will establish him over all that he hath. |
[47]Verily I say unto you, he shall make him ruler over all his goods. |
[48]But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord withholdeth to come; |
[48]But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My master doth defer his coming, |
[49]And shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall be eating and drinking with drunkards; |
[49]And begin to smite his fellows, and to eat and to drink with the drunken, |
[50]The lord of that servant shall come in a day that he computeth not, and in an hour which he doth not know, |
[50]That servants master will come in a day, when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not ware of, |
[51]And shall sunder him, and set his lot with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
[51]And will cut him off, and give him his portion with hypocrites: there shall be weeping, and gnashing of teeth. |
